At 4:50 he(the news reader) says, "Aur uske peeche unka tark tha ki akal takht dwara dero par sri guru granth sahib k prakash ki manahi h..." which loosely translates to "their logic was that Akal Takht has forbidden the usage(or recital) of guru granth at Deras (lower caste sikh religious gatherings)" and the people getting beaten presumably still did a recital.

The members doling out lashes were termed as belonging to "Satkar committee" and the one person being interviewed at 5:45 compares the Satkar committee to ISIS which isn't too far off if you just google "satkar committee" and watch the videos

Dera (organization)
Many Deras have attracted a large number of outcast Dalits, who earlier embraced Sikhism to escape the Hindu casteism, but felt socially excluded by the Jat Sikh-dominated clerical establishment.
Which is hilariously ironic albeit a bit sad. Probably why Love ka religion is on the rise in Punjab (which is even more ironic considering it's the lower caste sikhs who are being targeting for soul harvesting). Ironiception?

I do hope Modi Ji stops being another Vajpayee and punishes the perpetrators in a fitting manner. If he does so, the country will stand behind him. This is the perfect moment to do so. If everything done by politicians is for elections, it will also go a long way in winning him UP for sure.

The iron is hot, let us see how hard the hammer hits. One can only hope.
Don't be so sure. Since Balakot, JNU/DU students went on a rampage in Delhi in the name of hostel fees hike, it was soon followed by nationwide anti-CAA riots culminating in Delhi riots during Trump's visit which claimed over 50 lives. Even after that Shaheenbagh was left alone and it was only the pandemic which finally made Delhi police clear the roads. An year later it was time for more protests and riots this time in the name of farmers who are now so emboldened that they can replace the tricolor on Red Fort with a khalsa flag on Republic Day and block PM's motorcade . In between all this there was brutal post poll violence in West Bengal with over 100 thousand hindus displaced from their own homes, and over 200 killed.

While it is easy for me as a keyboard warrior and a regular karyakarta to blame the government on not having a spine to fight back against these break-India forces, i do understand the limitations. We have undeniable faultlines, some sections of our society have been so brainwashed for generations that there is constant simmering anger, so operating within such constraints the govt cannot go all guns blazing especially with threats on multiple internal and external fronts.

PM's motorcade security breach reminds of a book we had discussed here years ago . 'Rajiv Gandhi Assassination: The Investigation' by DR Karthikeyan needs to be read again to understand where we were 30 yrs ago in terms of VIP protection to where we are today. No SOP is set in stone, they can and they must be improved as new lessons are learnt.
I understand fully the events that have transpired since Balakot. All of them were launched after the 2019 elections, since the BIF realized that they could never hope to beat Modi in any election.

My sense of outrage today is what the nation felt after Pulwama, and from what I see on SM and elsewhere, I think the people of India (those that matter) are also extremely upset. It is likely then that the BJP Kumbhakaran will finally wake up and fight back. As I said, one can only hope. This though is indeed the perfect moment for it.

The demand for President rule is to avoid a repeat of state backed violence and rigging we saw in recent WB elections, not to show who is the boss. There's just enough time to clean up the state administration cadres and bring in competent officers who can take charge and be effective by March.

Given the huge sympathy wave in favour of NaMo, if anyone thinks Congoons will conduct free and fair elections in PJ then even Shri Ram can't save them.

Most likely the latter to avoid the Omicron peak.
Yes, Punjab CM and Law and Order messed up the PM's security.
There is an inquiry in the state by a two-member panel to fix responsibility.
MHA has asked the Punjab state govt for a report on the security lapse.

There is a hue and cry to impose the President's rule and show who is the boss.
In all likelihood, ECI will declare elections soon.
So the sum duration of President rule will be about 1.5 to two months.
Considering the safety of PM was not at risk anytime and the huge sympathy wave for the PM and the probable short duration imposing President rule is not much useful.
any feedback from Punjab?

PJ is stuck between rock and a hard place, fair or unfair elections INC as usual are the favorites to win. AAP has moved to take over the space left behind by a confused SAD which is in disarray. This incident will make no differences to BJP's prospects in PJ, BJP has no organization , only a handful of workers and barely any offices in PJ to mount a challenge. They are betting on Captain but given that he is 79 yrs of age and a brand new party without any structure, at most he can just cut INCs votes and give AAP an advantage. BJP must not move the President to dismiss the govt and impose President's rule. Under such circumstances it will be advantage INC, and if they end up winning the elections then it will make BJP look more foolish. Sidhu is a unpinned grenade in the INC's camp, he will wreck the party from within someday soon.

If that were the case, I would still advocate imposition of President's rule in PJ as it will at least give NaMo a few months to round up the ring leaders for some TLC. Also, if in the end INC is going to win regardless, I might as well try to eliminate the most dangerous elements using the wave of support elsewhere in India which is palpable even if PJ is a lost case (which I don't believe BTW)

In fact, pro-BJP online influencers like Ajit Bharti with hundreds of thousands of followers have been ridiculed by BJP leaders as "do kaudi ke youtuber" (two-bit youtubers). There is zero support to BJP leaning activists in media like Swarajaya, academia, NGOs, activists like Agniveer, monotheists who have converted back and taking on the church like Esther Dhanraj ...

It might be a good thing if AAP wins in Punjab with full majority. It looks inevitable, either this elections or the next, so we might as well speed up the cycle. The alternative is Congress win. A congress loss will be another step towards congress mukth Bharat. In all this, the two dynasties that were ruling Punjab will be out of power.

There is a good chance of a repeat of Bengal in Punjab but with far more brutal aftermath. If AAP wins, a pogrom against Hindus will begin. The only difference this time will be that it will get whitewashed completely by the usual cabal of the leftists.

Punjabi Hindus will be killed or driven away, but we will be shown images of how langars are being organised for displaced persons. We will be told how BJP workers simultaneously started beadbi at all gurudwaras in the state and this violence is just a reaction to this act. Editorials will be written about how BJP has harmed core Hindu interests by their act and is responsible for deaths of Hindus. BJP as usual will do nothing. Kejri and Sisodia will open displacement camps in Delhi that are run by khalistanis and then claim there is no killing and people are leaving off their own accord as how can the same people kill and arrange food for victims.

The next step will be to start putting the Khalistani flag on government buildings and claim it is nishansaheb.

Don’t think this going soft against protests is the right strategy against threat of reactivating khalistani terrorism. Time to employ offensive defence and make CPEC in Balochistan and streets of Sindhudesh to burn. They should be kept busy in dousing flames at home. That will send the right message home.

The Kazakh example current is the playbook BIF is trying to replicate. X% money investment to start trouble and then hopefully it will create its own momentum for regime change. Emotional outrage has its own exponential growth and we are allowing such old Kstan guard to carry on in full public view. In fact now was the time for POTA etc. to be used. I don’t know if Captain has asked them to go slow till election, in which case this bowing to so called satraps at the cost of law and order will cost us dear.

The most surprising aspect is the open acknowledgement of Khalistani provocations against India. Yet it is on India to not respond against the Khalistani provocations.

The level of Gaslighting is nearly on par with the Kashmir Muslim's.

Absolutely correct. Was listening to one gentleman on JD with Dixitji, he was like going beserk... Wants people should do this and that and what he is doing? Being a keyboard warrior on twitter. Common man, be more realistic.

I respect Sanjay Dixit for his work and dedication. But these kind of rabble rousers as guest doesn't quite go with realism. That is why I like Bhau Torsekar and his analysis more. It is much more backed by realism and grounded.

Why is it that so many of our retired military officer class and their progeny turn into ultra leftist wokes and side with the very people whom the nation has been fighting against for so long ?

Meet Dr Saiba Varma. She is the daughter of a former RAW officer , and teaches at UCSD as a Asst.Professor of Anthropology (yeah, surprise) . Not so long ago she was a darling of the marxist-islamist-jihadists wokes both in India and in the west because she is an outspoken critic of India and the Indian state and wrote a entire book on "colonialization" of Kashmir! Well, karma as they say is a she-dog and now she is under fire from the very nexus whom she was pandering to by self-flagellating , and the signature cancel-culture so dear to leftist wokes has yet again claimed one of its own by cancelling her book from UCSD's curriculum.
The Critical Gender Studies program at UCSanDiego has disaffiliated itself from the author of The Occupied Clinic: Militarism and Care in Kashmir, Dr Saiba Varma. The critical book by Varma was published by Duke University in the US and Yoda Press in India.

In a statement the UCSD’s Critical Gender Studies Program says, responding to the calls by Kashmiri scholars and activists to repudiate Dr. Varma’s research as part of a broader struggle “against an intensifying Indian settler-colonial rule in Kashmir since 2019, a crackdown against social media communications, and a pattern of arrests of prominent activists in recent months,” CGS has disaffiliated from Dr Varma, meaning that her courses will no longer count toward our major or minor. :rotfl:

“This may be a small act in the scheme of things, but we believe it is a necessary one as we work through our complicities and think seriously about who we must prioritize in our claims of accountability,” the statement reads.

Dr Saiba Varma, Associate Professor in the Anthropology Department and a former CGS Executive Committee member and Faculty Affiliate, came under severe criticism in September last year after her book The Occupied Clinic: Militarism and Care in Kashmir came to fore.

In the introduction of the book the author says, “Borrowing and extending techniques from British colonial rule, the Indian state enacted the world’s most established, sophisticated, and pervasive systems of emergency rule and legislation and repeatedly criminalized pro-independence demands as ‘conspiracies’ and ‘anti-national.’ The Indian state’s global image as ‘the world’s largest democracy,’ a generous aid donor, and non-interventionist actor have helped disguise its military excesses in Kashmir and other border regions.”

“As an upper-caste and upper-class Indian citizen and subject, I have actively and passively internalized anti-Muslim racism my entire life. I am complicit in the colonization of Kashmir and other regions forcibly incorporated into the Indian nation-state.”

“As Stuart Hall once powerfully stated, there is no such thing as an innocent discourse. To add: there is no such thing as an innocent Indian. In other words, there is no innocent way for any other scholar of Indian origin, including myself, to engage with Kashmir (or any of the other colonialisms underway in the subcontinent) without acknowledging our own embeddedness in histories of violence and harm.”

She, however, was accused of hiding her familial ties while doing research in Kashmir. The author’s father being an officer with Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), who was posted in the Valley in the 90s created a Twitter storm around the book.

In a statement titled “CGS Executive Committee's Statement Regarding Former CGS Faculty Affiliate, Dr. Saiba Varma” the UCSD’s Critical Gender Studies Program says, “...it understands the study of gender to be inextricably bound up with the interlocking systems of race, class, sexuality and nationalism.” “New faculty on the current Executive Committee bring commitments that are focused explicitly on ethically, intellectually, politically, and spiritually supporting the freedoms of all people.”

“We also believe that Varma’s unrelentingly violent decision to work in this place, where the colonial Indian state intelligence apparatus had appointed her father (formerly a high-ranking official of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the highest intelligence agency of India and architect of torture, counter-insurgency, and counter-terrorism policies in Kashmir and elsewhere) and his colleagues to draw up plans that included torture, sexual violence, and counter-insurgency as instruments of war and everyday occupation was dishonest and deliberately misleading,” the statement says.

“Furthermore, Varma worked without disclosing these familial ties to the patients in whose sessions she sat, or to the psychiatrists and other Kashmiris she is accountable to as an Indian anthropologist working on Kashmir, teaching courses on decolonial methodology, and claiming to harbor a commitment to decolonial, anti-racist, and feminist of color politics,” it adds.

In her defence the author Saiba Varma had said, “An anonymous account is attacking my research based on my father's former position in the Indian state. My father did work for the security state. He was in Kashmir when I was 10 years old. My work disavows *all* counterinsurgency, past and present, in Kashmir.”

“My father had no direct bearing on the research I’ve done. Recognizing the need to acknowledge this relationship, however, during my fieldwork I disclosed it to Kashmiri scholars and journalists I was close to. My ethical practices and scholarly arguments are accountable to them,” she had tweeted.

“In my book, I write: "As Stuart Hall once stated, there is no innocent discourse...There is no innocent way for any scholar of Indian origin, including myself, to engage with Kashmir."

https://swarajyamag.com/politics/vote-b ... de-crashes
Vote By Vote, Election By Election, The Congress Charade Crashes
For long, the Congress has been trying to sell the idea of the institutions guarding the democracy of the day, like the election commission, media, judiciary, armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and any body that bridges the gap between the representatives and the citizens, as stooges of Narendra Modi. They have marketed this belief not only in India, but across the world.

What else explains the unapologetic demand for evidence of surgical strikes, or to attempt to paint Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as the engineer behind the attacks of 26/11 in Mumbai, or to have an MoU with the Chinese Communist Party, or for their leader to beg Pakistan for help on their soil to politically eliminate Bharatiya Janata Party, or of their tallest leader, Rahul Gandhi, asking the Western world to intervene by claiming that he has no control on any institution, or by gaslighting a protest that borderlines on separatism, and more recently, to laughing off a security lapse in a border state, at a point few kilometres from Pakistan.

What explains Congress staking not only their legacy or national identity, but the very country, for their incapacity to fight the BJP on the ground, man to man, woman to woman, fair and square, in a nation perpetually in election mode. To lose states as they lost Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and almost Rajasthan can be termed as folly, and to lose states as they lost West Bengal, Kerala, and Delhi can be termed as a faulted strategy, but what does one call crossing the most unacceptable lines of political decency and decorum?
For the sake of almost 120 million people, hoping against hope, who voted for them in 2019, for the sake of the party workers, selflessly committing themselves to a political future even they have trouble imagining, and for the sake of the states governed by them, the party, beyond the three leaders and their merry-making pawns, must introspect. In a political contest, you win some days, and some days, you lose to fight another day, but at no point, you kill the fight or the prize, but the Congress of the day has different ideas. Put simply, intoxicated, they are dancing with a burning torch in a sea of oil and a floor of coal.

The party, beyond all the queen’s loyalists and all the queen’s men and women, must revolt the path they are being forced to take, because a few years more down this path, and the Congress will crash into a pit so deep, so dark, and so distant from the reality, that all the queen’s loyalists and all the queen’s men and women shall not be able to put the party and its politics together again.

What one fears is what will that crash cost the country and its citizens.

I think we need to have powers to SPG that threat to any one in the executive has to be investigated by them independent of any other powers including SC and take appropriate measures. This plot has to be nipped in the bud. The plot is to incite a riot.

It is only going to cause more harm than good, IMHO. The SPG is generally staffed with selected members from the para-military forces/CPFs etc. And that selection is mainly based on their physical fitness, quickness to act etc. etc. The Special Action Group (SAG) is staffed by defence forces personnel. Both these groups are not trained to become investigators/detectives.

We have umpteen number of agencies who are working on various types of 'policing work'. SB CIDs and IB who looks counter intelligence, ED & DRI which focuses on financial crimes and then CBI and NIA who focuses on complexes criminal cases (the latter focuses on terrorism angle). It should be one of these agencies which have to pull up their socks and un earth the plot behind the incident at Punjab.

Thant's fine too. Any threat should be reported by SPG and NIA should pick it up from there.

Just checked this thread.

The usual long, copious, droning, echo-chamber posts and speculations about how BJP does nothing to promote ecosystem, punish BIFs, etc etc.

I don't see any discussion of the fact that the sarkar (MHA) has made it all but impossible for BIF NGOs to get FCRA clearance/foreign funds for nefarious activities such as separatism, conversion, etc. These BIFs have been severely affected over the last few months. The level of anger is plainly seen even in the social media.

Their desperation is showing in this latest (PM security breach) episode, which is a case that justifies a publicly visible, tit-for-tat response.

The goremint is doing quite a bit for internal security.

^^ How does your argument about FCRA or internal security negate the fact that BJP is chronically disinterested in setting up an ecosystem of its own to counter that of Congress and communists, and in fact is quite hostile or uncooperative to the budding system of RW that is coming into being bit by bit on its own?

I'm not arguing anything. I'm stating things. Look at it strategically, rather than in the form of reactions to media reports or individual events.

Ecosystems are built by society at large (including the sant samaj) from grassroots level organizations, which then can infuse into the political party. The one obvious example is the RSS which basically provided the seed material to create the BJS and the BJP. Read my previous posts.

Doing it the other way round is not sustainable, which the Congis and Commies (throughout the world) are learning the hard way. They can make trouble for some more time, but they are doomed.

The goremint can do (and is doing) things to empower society to build such ecosystem, and is not obstructing it.

SC halts probe by Centre & Punjab govt
Later, the Supreme Court directed the registrar general of Punjab and Haryana high court to secure and preserve all records relating to visit of the Prime Minister to Punjab forthwith.
The top court also asked both the Centre and Punjab government to halt any proceedings into the incident till Monday, when it would hear the matter again.
The SC said some officer from NIA should assist the HC registrar general in collecting the evidence including wireless messages relating to PM's visit as the Registrar General may not be aware of the sources from where the records are to be obtained.

In America, the president over-rules judiciary's over-reach by citing "Executive privilege."

I am noticing frustration and exasperation among BJP supporters.. Passive mute spectatorship ranging from the attack on Redfort, deaths of ~1000 BJP karyakartas in WB, to the current brazen blockage of PM's convoy isn't helping, only encouraging BIFs to be even more brazen. Perhaps their plan is not to kill him but worse, politically finish him off by showing him as too weak and passive, afraid to act against perps of seditious, anti-national crimes.

The break-India forces just like their extended left ecosystem worldwide will always use those sections of the society that are easily mobilized, well organized and gains instant sympathy, namely farmers & peasants, laborers, women, students and minorities. All internal threats from anti-India forces will come through these 5 groups, now and in future. A state like China can ruthlessly crush such groups because there is no fear of international condemnation, armed resistance groups forming or the fear of electoral politics. While India cannot act in a similar way, we can certainly deal with individuals (and not large groups) responsible for acting against the nation with iron gloves. I said this when Arnab Goswami was arrested and let to languish in jail for weeks on a ridiculous charge of boosting TRP ! If you cannot go after Uddhav Thackeray or Sharad Pawar that's fine and understandable, but go after crooks like Param Bir Singh and other commanders of anti-national brigade, make an example out of them. The center fired WB Chief Secretary, he was immediately rehired by WB govt. File criminal charges, pick him up from WB or wherever and put the fear of god in him. One of Rakesh Tikait's children is in Australia, go ahead and exit restriction on his passport if he is an Indian citizen and if he is not then pull his OCI/PIO/Visa. The same goes for the jihadists, student union leaders, those who actively assist external and internal enemies. Forget about center, even in BJP ruled states the situation is abysmal. After 2 days of outrage in Karnataka about Amulya Leona or Disha Salian and their ilk all is forgotten and forgiven, even before the ink dries on their bail order they are back on twitter/instagram continuing their anti-national propaganda. If the govt does not even go after 20 something college kids with no political backing, goodluck expecting them to go after individuals like Kaniah Kumar or Rakesh Tikait.
