Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
There is also the problem of lack of storage infrastructure in India for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines which need to be stored at much colder temperatures than Covishield or Covaxin. Those vaccines aren't feasible for large scale distribution in India beyond a few large cities where such facilities may be available at a limited scale.

also, pfizer seems to have a lot of admirers and supporters among the commie, congi and lootyens presstitutes pushing their wonderous product.

Pfizer accused of ‘bullying’ Latin American countries during vaccine negotiations
Latin American countries have accused Pfizer of ‘high-level bullying’ during Covid-19 vaccine negotiations, according to a report by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism published in partnership with STAT.
Government officials from Argentina and another Latin American country, which has signed a confidentiality agreement with Pfizer and so cannot be named, told the Bureau that Pfizer demanded additional indemnity against civil lawsuits citizens might file in relation to Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine.
Pfizer reportedly asked governments in Argentina and Brazil to put up sovereign assets, including military bases and federal bank reserves, as collateral for potential future legal costs.
Although most countries have offered indemnity to vaccine manufacturers in the pandemic, these Latin American government officials felt Pfizer’s demands went beyond those of other companies or the COVAX facility.
According to government officials in Argentina and the unnamed country, Pfizer asked for liability protection not only against civil claims from citizens who suffer serious adverse events after being vaccinated, but also for cases brought due to Pfizer’s own negligence, fraud or malice. Documents from Brazil’s Ministry of Health suggest that Pfizer made similar demands of the Brazilian government.
As a result of these demands, neither Argentina nor Brazil signed a vaccine supply deal with Pfizer. The other unnamed country eventually came to an agreement with Pfizer, but with a three-month delay, to the detriment of the government’s ability to get on top of the Covid-19 crisis.
World Health Organization (WHO) Center on National and Global Health Law director Professor Lawrence Gostin told the Bureau: “Pharmaceutical companies shouldn’t be using their power to limit life-saving vaccines in low and middle-income countries. [This] seems to be exactly what they’re doing.
“Some liability protection is warranted, but certainly not for fraud, gross negligence, mismanagement, failure to follow good manufacturing practices. Companies have no right to ask for indemnity for these things.”
In an emailed statement to Pharmaceutical Technology, Pfizer said itself and BioNTech, with which it developed the Covid-19 vaccine, “are firmly committed to working with governments and other relevant stakeholders to ensure equitable and affordable access to our COVID-19 vaccine for people around the world.”
Are you worried about the pace of innovation in your industry?
GlobalData's TMT Themes 2021 Report tells you everything you need to know about disruptive tech themes and which companies are best placed to help you digitally transform your business.
“Globally, we have also allocated doses to low- and lower-middle-income countries at a not-for-profit price, including an advance purchase agreement with COVAX to provide up to 40 million doses in 2021.
“Since the beginning of our vaccine development program, we have been in talks with more than 100 countries and supranational organizations, including in Latin America, regarding the supply of our Covid-19 vaccine. We are committed to supporting efforts aimed at providing developing countries with the same access to vaccines as the rest of the world.
“We will not comment on ongoing negotiations, which are private and confidential.”
Pfizer has signed vaccine supply agreements with nine Latin American and Caribbean countries to date: Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Uruguay.
These revelations occur in the context of richer countries being criticised for inequitably hoarding available Covid-19 vaccine doses at the expense of poorer developing countries. WHO director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has declared the world to be “on the brink of a catastrophic moral failure” due to the stark inequity in access to Covid-19 vaccines.
Vaccine companies have also faced criticism for focusing on bilateral negotiations with richer countries, rather than on signing deals with the COVAX Facility, the equitable Covid-19 vaccine access programme run by the WHO, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
Some healthcare charities have called for companies to share intellectual property and technical know-how to allow Covid-19 vaccines to be developed by other manufacturers across the world.
Latin America has been hit extremely hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. Brazil has the third-highest number of cases worldwide and the second-largest number of deaths in the world, according to the John Hopkins University coronavirus resource center. Access to safe and effective vaccines in the region would be invaluable for turning the tide of the region’s Covid-19 crisis.
The company’s Covid-19 vaccine, which was developed with BioNTech, was approved by the WHO for use globally on 31 December 2020.

India under PM Modi more likely to respond with military force to Pakistan provocations: US intelligence report
APR 14 2021,
India and Pakistan are without high commissioners in each other’s capital since the relations between the two countries nosedived.
India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is more likely than in the past to respond with military force to perceived or real Pakistani provocations, the US intelligence community has told Congress in a report.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) in its Annual Threat Assessment report to the US Congress, said although a general war between India and Pakistan is unlikely, crises between the two are likely to become more intense, risking an escalatory cycle.
"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is more likely than in the past to respond with military force to perceived or real Pakistani provocations, and heightened tensions raise the risk of conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, with violent unrest in Kashmir or a militant attack in India being potential flashpoints," it said.
India and Pakistan are without high commissioners in each other’s capital since the relations between the two countries nosedived after India withdrew the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two union territories in August 2019.
India has said it desires normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan in an environment free of terror, hostility and violence and that the onus is on Islamabad to create an environment free of terror and hostility.
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
That is true in all Congress and AAP states -- these lowlives in the INC and AAP want to push the central govt. to impose president's rule or otherwise take down the govt. For them, that is a win-win, center gets to solve the problems they have created with their incompetence, and they get to blame the center for playing political games and get back in the next election. Thankfully that is only 3 states.vijayk:The problem is if this does not come under control and too many people die, people will start blaming Modi.
The only thing that saves all of us is the average person in rural and urban India who are seeing a better life in the past 6 years, and see what they have been missing. BJP would do well to appoint more competent people in media management than they are -- India media has crossed the line in spreading falsehoods for political reasons even if it is against the public interest, but then the courts have also been corrupted and broken by the INC traitors. I think BJP is well aware of all the minefields and make small and irreversible changes that restrict the options for the INC traitors, starting with demonetization, and all the way to the farm bill. We just have cross our fingers and hope there is time for this approach to succeed in improving the lives of Indians who have been bought and sold by the coconut colonials of the Shashi Tharoor and Pratap Bhanu kind that continue to rubbish all things Indian.

Hindu women converting to Islam for marriage but claiming zila panchayat seats reserved for Dalits - this fraud was done at a large scale in 2015 elections in UP. By the time Dalit groups proved them to be fraud, most completed their full tenure. We cannot let it happen again
This is the third case from same district.
Let me repeat that after conversion to Islam, a born-Dalit can no more avail of caste-based benefits. Law is clear on this. Law minister repeated it in parliament recently. These fraud cases happen at a local level. While fraud is easy, redressal is slow
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
I know it is wishful thinking but if this pandemic has thought us one thing then it is to stay far far away from metros if one has an option. Given the abysmal state of our over crowded, very, very polluted metro cities, a pandemic is like bursting fireworks over a ammunition depot. The population density, the crowded public places, smaller houses all make it a perfect recipe for disaster when a communicable virus is involved. Even in normal times the increasing cases of allergies in children , declining mental health and chronic diseases in relatively young population is a direct result of our ill-planned, over crowded cities. Given our population every big state needs to aim for 10 to 12 well planned urban centers but what we have are one or two cities in large states carrying the entire burden of economic growth and job creation.

Tragic
Why a Bihar policeman out to arrest bike thieves got lynched in Bengal
Controversy and inter-services tensions simmer over the incident that took place on April 10
https://thefederal.com/news/why-a-bihar ... in-bengal/
Ashis Biswas
Early last Saturday (April 10) Aswini Kumar, leading a seven-member team of Bihar police, came to arrest alleged motorcycle thieves hiding in the nearby Pantapara village in the Goalpokhar police station area of Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal. The team came under attack by an armed mob. Confusion gripped the outstation policemen who faced a bomb attack along with heavy stones being thrown at them from all directions in the dark.
Caught in an unfamiliar territory against an obviously well-prepared mob, the team received no help from their local Bengal counterparts. Outnumbered, they broke ranks and fled in all directions, but Kumar was trapped and killed as the mob pounced on him. The others survived, only to be later reprimanded and suspended for their ignominious flight.
The matter went under-reported in West Bengal. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the tragic death of the policeman in one of his speeches, castigating the alleged breakdown of law and order in West Bengal.
Kumar’s mutilated body was returned to the Bihar police authorities a day after the incident. Mrityunjay Singh, spokesman for the Bihar Police Association, told the media that Kumar had been beaten up and strangulated.
The suffering of Kumar’s family continued: his mother Urmila Devi could not bear the shock of her son’s killing and died. Mother and son were cremated together in the presence of a large number of locals and state policemen. Ashwini Kumar was the station house officer of Kishanganj station in Bihar.

The Bengal police version is that they had already informed the Bihar team of their inability to provide logistical support as the police force was busy with election-relation work. Bengal police sources said the Bihar team entered the village in the middle of the night in three vehicles and was attacked almost immediately. “As our men were already deployed on election duty, we had requested them to reschedule the raid. We didn’t know they went ahead with the raid. We have arrested three persons. It was a very tragic incident,” said Sachin Makkar, superintendent of Islampur police district in West Bengal.
The incident happened during campaigning for the fourth phase of the Bengal assembly polls. The voting for this phase, which took place in north Bengal, was the most violent – at least four people were killed by central forces in Cooch Behar. So the official follow-up of the events in Bengal remained casual.
The lynching has raised questions about the apparent lack of professionalism among policemen and strengthens suspicion of a cover-up.
The big question is if the Bihar authorities had kept the Bengal police in loop about the raid. The village where the incident took place is barely 12 kilometres from Bihar’s Kishanganj, the nearest town and railway station. In a brief statement made to the electronic media, Bengal officials claimed they had received no such information.
However, information from Bihar contradicts this version. According to Suresh Prasad, inspector general of police (Purnea), the duty officer at the nearest police station in Bengal near Pantapara village had been duly informed about the raid to be conducted by the Bihar policemen, who were tracking the movements of the bike thieves from April 8.
A Bihar Police Association statement said that well before the raid at Goalpokhar got underway, their Bengal counterparts were duly informed. Bengal authorities had even promised to send a supporting team to help the Bihar team in an unfamiliar terrain. Surprisingly, no one turned up.
On the Bengal side of the state border, it was learnt that the attacking mob comprised 300 people. The villagers had been told to gather at the spot through loudspeakers installed at the local mosque. Kishanganj and adjacent areas in Dinajpur in Bengal are Muslim-dominated.
It is common knowledge that the area is known for the presence of a large number of suspected Bangladeshis who have settled there in the last three decades. On both sides of the Bengal-Bihar border, the law and order situation is grim as human trafficking, drugs/arms smuggling and other crimes are reported almost regularly. Some prominent politicians belonging to both Bihar and Bengal have been accused of supporting such elements.
Kolkata-based intelligence circles, for different reasons, do not dismiss the Bengal police version about non-sharing of information between the forces. For some years state police forces don’t share prior information about any raids/arrests they need to make from West Bengal at the official level. Reason: there is a general apprehension that confidential information is compromised.
n the last few years, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh police too have made arrests and conducted raids involving suspected criminals/militants in encounters at Tiljala and central Kolkata without bringing the local police into picture. The Bangladesh police had arrested one of the killers of the late Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from Bedford Lane, central Kolkata, without any fanfare only last year. The professional reputation of the state police suffered a major setback since the escape of Mujib killer Mohammad Mosleuddin from Murshidabad some years ago after the Bangladeshi authorities had provided a tip-off.
It is also intriguing that a section of Bengal police had informed a few local journalists that there was a rumour about armed miscreants crossing over from Bihar dressed as policemen to attack and intimidate innocent voters in Bengal. This led to tension among locals, media reports said.
If this is true, then Kumar’s death can be seen as an unfortunate collateral damage caused by the Trinamool Congress’ political campaign. None other than Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly claimed that such incidents are planned by the BJP to defame and defeat her party and that voters must prepare to fight off such raiders.
Therefore, there is a possibility that the Bihar police played it safe by not informing the Bengal police about the raid in advance. The issue has snowballed into a major controversy in Bihar and joint raids by Bihar and Bengal policemen have followed. Altogether 21 people have been named as prime conspirators for the attack on the policemen, of whom five have been arrested. A search is on for at least 150 more. Key suspects, Feroze and Abuzar Alam, are currently in police custody along with a woman, S Khatun.
Kumar’s family, not satisfied with the ongoing police probe, has appealed to the prime minister to order a CBI investigation.

did not want to pollute the wuhan resources thread with this topic so posting it here
What is the methodology these "experts of lancet" used to conjure up these daily death rates? Do we really think that will have the same level of rigour as analyzing double-blinded data?
Lancet has exhibited aditorial standards with an overt political bias against India multiple times in the past couple of years -- what is the remit of an alleged "mdeical" journal that does political commentary only on problems in India? Why should we take articles with a political slant seriously? Where is the "science" in generating random numbers on daily deaths in aggregate, when the data such predictions are based on do not have the same rigour as double-blinded medical studies?
The current editor was revealed as a known India baiter, who had no compunctions about publishing bogus data or even acknowledging that the data was bogus until readers of the article pointed out serious problems with the article.
What does that tell us about the editorial standards of that article, especially one that claims to be medical journal of repute?
If the editorial standards are suspect to the point they do not care to validate data source when they publish political articles, what makes people here on BRF have the confidence that the data used to make claims here is not cooked up with the intent of scoring political points? Just asking, because "professional" journals in western countries have started crossing the line into politics and publish political articles these days -- not just medical journals of repute like lancet.
Yes, of course, but predicting deaths rates from aggregate statistical data to make an unverifiable claim (for now) is not quite the same as articles on vaccines effectiveness is based on double-blinded results, is it?Raja: It is also the same journal where Covaxin and Sputnik have published their results. Perhaps, consider an article on its own merit?

The attached video is a must watch. The turds are emboldened enough to give open calls for murder. These chaps must be booked for incitement, at the very least. Else, this will snowball into such threats becoming 'normalized', daily routines and what not. Only.Sanjeev Newar संजीव नेवर

This is a blatant threat to all Hindu activists. They are instigating peacefuls to do to what they did to Mahashay Rajpal and Kamlesh Tiwari
In a country where even policemen are lynched, awakened Hindus must decide what their Dharma is towards those who stand for them

when things are given for free, this is usually the result.
now, these MVA jokers were again expecting / demanding that the center provide rations for all so that the MVA govt could "distribute" it to the jehadis for ramzan under the guise of the lockdown.
since none was forthcoming from the center, UT declared sec 144 and said there is no lockdown
so, basically in MAH, nothing is shutdown, and at the same time, nothing is open either.
the other two khiladis have neatly set him up and the guy is basically clueless and is gasping for his political life while being advised by rootless charlatans and vagabonds

via@OpIndia_comAccording to GOI note accessed by OpIndia exclusively, Maharashtra has 6441.922 MT of pulses/chana whole leftover.
They were supposed to inform the centre in December, they waited till April.
Now, tonnes have gone to waste

Direct MSP transfers begin, Punjab farmers ring in the new
Direct MSP transfers begin, Punjab farmers ring in the new
Dalip Kumar (39), of Nilpur village near Rajpura, says he is the happiest he’s ever been in his 15 years spent as a farmer. The reason: two text messages that he has got on his phone, announcing the credit of Rs 1.90 lakh and Rs 1.48 lakh into his bank account as the minimum support price (MSP) of 171 quintals of wheat that he sold in Rajpura mandi.
Dalip took the produce of around 10 acres of his land to the mandi. He farms 40 acres, and will take the remaining wheat for procurement in the coming days. At the MSP of Rs 1,975 per quintal, he said this would be the first time he would get his hands on such a large sum in one go.
“This is the best system. What could be better than getting payment for our crop in our account?” Dalip told The Indian Express. “Earlier, arhtiyas gave us a cheque. After we took our crop to the mandi, everything was in the hands of the agent. The final settlement of accounts took time, as the arhtiya always found an excuse to defer the payment even after the farmer had repaid any debts he might have had.”
Dalip is one of the first three Punjab farmers to receive the payment of wheat MSP directly into his account. Pushed by the Centre, the state government has implemented the system of direct payment for the first time in the face of stiff opposition from the politically and financially powerful arhtiya associations.
Explained |How the Punjab govt is trying to involve Arhtiyas in direct payment to farmers
Tarlochan Singh (49) of Bhurara village in Chamkaur Sahib of Ropar district, has received Rs 1.56 lakh in his account for the produce of 3 out of his 12 acres of land under wheat.
He said he has been farming for more than two decades, and was happy with the new system — and that it would not affect his relation with the arhtiyas.
Gulzar Singh (50), from a village in Ludhiana, said he had harvested wheat on 20 out of his 25 acres and sold it at the Khanna mandi, one of the biggest in the region.
“I have received some amount in my bank but I am not educated… Only when my son comes tomorrow will I get to know the exact amount,” he said.

@srikandanji,
Not to mention the whole anti vaccine movement is a direct result of the lax editorial standards by Lancet. By providing a platform to selfish quacks such as Andrew Wakefield, it essentially legitimised his vaccine causes autism theory. Yes, the article was withdrawn but the damage had been done.
The editors Lancet are indirectly responsible for thousands of deaths. As to why this magazine still has credibility is another question.

Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
@tanaji saar, well said. exactly. These lowlives in the Lancet editorial board played politics over the lives of people in a pandemic. In an ideal world, they have no credibility left, just like the WHO, UNHRC, or the UN itself. But the sheen of past prestige still sticks to these organizations, not least because people in countries like India take them seriously, even after all their shenanigans.
Lancet is supposed to publish science, not use the label of "science" to fake data in order to play politics. Same for others like Association of Computing Machinery and other unethical "professional" western organizations using their reputation to play politics -- ACM did not play politics with Indian affairs but they did write political articles in election time. This is starting to be a pattern -- Indians need their own professional organizations to discuss science and tech, like China, but India is not there yet.

what ever happened to the commie wonder drug that the kerala commies were going to get from the commie wonder land of cuba.
via@ANIWe demanded 50 lakh vaccines to conduct the vaccination campaign here. We want to vaccinate all priority groups. We hope we will be supplied with vaccine doses, otherwise, we'll have to stop vaccination drive: Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja after meeting Union Health Minister
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
Same "demands", whether it is the CPI(M) incompetents in Kerala or Amarinder Singh, Uddhav or Kejriwal -- just put the blame on someone else, after failing to do even the bare minimum in states that they control. but then these states elect these bottom-feeding scum to power in every election, so they get the governance they voted for.

Some islamist org has given death threat to Swami Narsinghanand. Amantulla Khan did same thing few days ago. Posters were put in western up, all police did was remove posters. Hundreds gathered in Ajmer dargah with same demand. Waiting to see how many of these will be punished for making threats? Apparently FIR has been filed against amantulla in Delhi.
