Perfect. That's the most accurate description of Pakistaniyat i have seen anywhere until now.

BTW noob question. Are bakistani politcos crying about trade only because they want empty containers to block roads?

Maybe our kabbadi waalahs can make a killing here..

This is blastphemy. For afghans TSP is not developed enough, hainji? They want to abandon ummah land and go and live in some kafir country. This is a ''wah-jee-bull-cutlet' worthy claim in itself.
Afghan refugees hold rally, want to settle in developed countries
ISLAMABAD: Hundreds of Afghan nationals on Monday staged a protest rally in Islamabad to get shelters in developed countries saying they don’t want to go back to their country being governed by Taliban.

The Afghan nationals, who have been camping outside the National Press Club for the last several weeks, brought out the rally from the press club to D-Chowk.

Some of the protesters Dawn spoke to said they were insecure under the Taliban government that’s why they left their country.

“We are here and want to get settled in any developed country. So far, we are not being given the status of refugees here,” said Alyas Zaki, a protester.

Violence everywhere from Lahore to Karachi to Pindi to Islamabad. The PTI youthias just as their beloved dear leader are hopelessly confused, ill-prepared and unorganized. 500+ mob run away when they see 2 paki ranger vehicle approach ! The images of police firing live rounds pretty much point blank on the crowds, few protestors being lobbed off bridges and overpass etc shows that the claimed 3 deaths so far is nowhere near truth, the real casualty figures is probably much much higher. The police also seem to have hired private goons to take on the PTI.

I am also amazed how no foreign NGOs, no hooman rights activists in US or Europe, no hollywood/bollywood activist-actors have anything to say about the murder of civil and hooman rights in al bakistan, guess their outrage and their purse strings are only reserved for India.

Over past decades, he was only mildly inconvenienced by the khaki/rags jihadi types so writes only in generic terms to remain healthy, that too only because it affects his western travels. Don’t be fooled by his “sober” assessments or claims of rationality. He is speaking about failed Kashmir policy more nowadays because he acts as the khaki establishment’s trail balloon when selling something to their meager “academic elite”, who are also happy with Kashmiri jihad till now.

What it distills down is this: Post-Art370, India has effectively shown that pakis don’t matter anymore to India and If they try to act cool, another Balakote strike package will glide in to put them in their place. So they suddenly realize the earlier payback of “importance in Sooth Asia” is no longer there for them and they are wasting money on Kashmir. Hoodbhoy is giving it a veneer of rationality (for their internal audience) and the usual democratic dissidence(for western audience).

What is with the haram name anyways? I thought hooded boy is a mark of kaffir during a lungi-test?
He has a point of view which I think is reasonable given where he stands and all that. Expecting him to be pro India is a bit much. If he is perceived as pro-India, he will at best not have a following locally and at worst get the midnight knock from the boys. So I am willing to live with his PoV on Kashmir, and his opinion of India in the world order.

This interview below is hot off the press, please do watch. I didn't see any India baiting here and no mention of Kashmir.

Sindh and KP guys are needed to build and sustain the momentum. Punjabi Musalmans are going to do a KLPD again. But will join with double the energy and double commitment to the cause when they see the tide turning :D

This looks promising so far.

yensoy, we dont have to elevate this pompous anti-India douche as some kind of rationalist with questionable credentials in a science landscape that fetes Xerox or Mubarakmand types as their titans.

If we consider paki op-ed writers, there is a big difference between pro-India, objectively anti-India, rabidly anti-India and condescendingly anti-India. Hoodbhoy is the last one, while Khaled Ahmed (to quote one example) seem to tread the space between first and second above with great longevity (atleast three decades) in his op-ed writing career. So even under ISPR oversight, it is doable for a paki elite and your argument that Hoodboy is a besieged intellectual does not hold. As others have pointed out above, he is the intellectual layer of ISI's PR stack and for that he gets tossed some coin.

Where India is concerned Hoodie-boy is just a more survivable version of Salman Taseer.

Enough anyways, last post on the crapper - others too have spoken their assessment

This KLPD happened previously as well. Kaptaan supporters are all middle class, educated jihadi wannabees. They run at the first sight of lathi and tear gas, back to their homes so they can tweet and post insta pictures expressing their outrage.

It's the tahirul qadri / labaik types who stand and fight the bolis in pitched battles.

Badmash knows this and has set the police on Kaptaan's supporters. They are all likely to run away. Unless brave retired faujis stand up for their country, overthrow Bajwa and install Kaptaan to restore Pakistan's echandee and teach amreeka and IMF a lesson that Pakistan will never do their bidding after accepting their loans.

Most of the vocal, vociferous PTI youthias on social media/PeeDeeEff don't even live in al bakistan ! They sit in the safety of UK, Canada, Sweden, US etc. and vent their outrage online ! Kaptaan either has a ace up his shalwar kameez or is on a suicide mission if he thinks these disorganized, confused, scared youthias will save the day for him. His famous "container" rallies were successful because the establishment mobilized masses from all over the country, looks like he mistook it for his own charisma and popularity.

I am waiting for Friday. If the youthias still havent received the message then i'm sure the next step will be to unleash the labbaik boys after the jummah namaz .

Anujanullah, since these are young social-media wonders being shooed off like dogs, would it mean Trudolf Blackface over in Canada will show concern "for families back home and curtailing of freedin to protest"? Or maybe Rihanna will drop that baby and tweet?

World should not ignore the peril to democratic protests or bakistan's backsliding into whatever compost they usually slide into!

So this confirms army is divided and IK has support from some groups. This sets a new precedent and will lead to more chaos in the future because no PM/party will be acceptable to all the groups. Also gives political parties a lever to manipulate the establishment itself by aligning with different groups.

Does anyone else feel Najam Sethi looks visibly disturbed? He is usually much more energetic and smiling while sharing news from chidiya. Looks like haalaat bahut gambhir hain.

If there's a faction within the establishment which supports kaptaan, then it must be with the blessings of the iron brother. Recently Imran kept up with this theory that he was removed because of US pressure in an interview with a US news channel, he called out the low level state dept employee Donald Lu by his name asking him to be reprimanded for "indiscipline" and said he had excellent relations with US when Trump was the president ! If US is against Imran then China must naturally be in favor of Imran, and maybe there is a faction within the establishment that is more pro-China compared to the pizza generals led by Bajwa.

In the end the youthias will get their backs handed to them by this weekend if they don't return to their homes. Ironically the kaptaan may yet survive to play again if the economy worsens. If the oil subsidies have to be rolled back, if PKR continues to fall and if the paki economy looks like it is close to default then both the Shariffs and Bajwa & Co. will look for an exit strategy, and that strategy may be nudge the supreme court to give some judgement in favor of Imran to take back the reigns. Interesting days ahead..

Azadi March: As Imran's caravan enters Islamabad, govt authorises deployment of army in Red Zone
Imran Gabol | Iqbal Mirza | Muhammad Taimoor | Sirajuddin | Javed Hussain | Imtiaz Ali | Rana Bilal, May 25, 2022

As PTI Chairman Imran Khan entered Islamabad in the early hours of Thursday and marched towards D-Chowk, the federal government authorised the deployment of the army in Red Zone to "protect important government buildings".
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah tweeted a notification saying the government was "pleased to authorise the deployment" of the army in Red Zone under Article 245 of the Constitution.
Among the buildings that will be protected are the Supreme Court, Parliament House, Prime Minister House, Presidency, Pakistan Secretariat and Diplomatic enclaves," the notification said.
With Imran's convoy, which began the journey from Swabi's Wali Interchange, en route to D-Chowk via the Srinagar Highway, a batch of his party workers and supporters are already present in the face of intense police shelling.
Earlier, during a brief stopover in Hasan Abdal approximately 50 kilometres away from the capital, Imran reiterated that he and his supporters would not vacate D-Chowk until a date for new elections was announced by the "imported government".

This isn’t just some random rally. Videos from the scene, the response of the Pakistani government asking PA for protection, suggests legs and popular support. IK may be on to something.

Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Qamar Javed Bajwa may be wondering if it’s time to casually ask that age old question - “Will no one did me of this turbulent priest?”

See how baki movie 'stars' are so experienced in street protest & use their expertise to help the aam abduls.. take that bollywood

Yawn - Actors Feroze Khan and Haroon Shahid share safety tips for participants of Imran Khan's Azadi March
Actors Feroze Khan and Haroon Shahid took to social media and shared tips with their followers on how to be safe while attending the protest.

On Tuesday, Shahid took to Twitter and shared that people attending the march in Karachi at Numaish must come prepared and "carry plenty of water, a hand towel and salt," as these are the antidotes to tear gas. He also said that people shouldn't be attending the protest with their kids.

Khuda Aur Muhabbat actor Khan also shared similar tips and listed out steps that attendees must follow in order to defend themselves against tear gas. He wrote:

1. Wear glasses. A P-cap and carry a wet towel to cover your face (eyes, nose, mouth), carry a 1.5 litre water bottle with you. (:?: why 1.5 ltr onlee hain.. larger ones too expensive?)
2. Carry salt to lick because the gas is going to burn your throat with a bitter burning sensation, making breathing difficult which is the worst part. Only salt makes the burning sensation tolerable.
3. If it gets in your eyes (which it will), don't rub your eyes. It will only make it worse. Instead wash them. It will burn your eyes and you will have a hard time keeping them open.
4. Never pick up a tear gas shell with your naked hand, it's burning hot.

A few minutes ago The Great Khan got up on stage and gave a "6 day ultimatum" to the existing sarkaar, then told his supporters to go home. All this hullabaloo for nothing.

This means one of 2 things

1. Immy has chickened out

2. A deal has been reached with the fauj and the govt will resign soon. But they need to save face, so they can't resign while Immy is in Isloo with his rioters. So he will go home today and the sarkaar will resign in a couple of days.

With what the Major Sa'ab's calls Dimran's "reverse" swing (I think he was referring to the films about to be leaked), doing a priest may mean something else altogether. But happy days are here again, so rejoice. Dimran Khan Niazi may actually bring Riasat-e-Madina. I am praying to Almighty Allah to help him in his hour of need.

Imran Khan gives six-day ultimatum to govt to announce elections. Former Prime Minister while addressing to the protestors of long march in Islamabad, warned the government that if announcement of elections will not be made, he will return to Islamabad.

After Imran Khan s announcement, protesters of the sit-in also dispersed at the Numaish Churangi in Karachi.

The showbaaz gormint can use the above to resign saying they wanted to keep the honor & sovereignty of Bakistan intact and are being forced out by foreign conspiracy

The uniformed jihadis can get the judiciary to set up a temporary caretaker gormint to resume the begging with the IMF

This is good. Borrow money, agree to implement some changes, do not implement the changes for next 5 years, when questioned on this claim that the the conditions are now outdated and do not take into consideration the changes that happened during these 5 years. When faced with serious problems pakis will take half a cup of lahori logic, mix it with some pindi channa and blast it in the general direction of the problem hoping that it will blow everything away.
Bilawal says $6 billion IMF deal is 'outdated'
An ongoing bailout deal between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is "outdated" given a number of global crises, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said on Wednesday, as the country struggles to implement targets set by the lender.

He said it would be justified for Pakistan to plead this case before the IMF in current talks.

Pakistan entered a three-year, $6 billion IMF deal in 2019, but is struggling to implement tough policy commitments. Talks are underway in Doha, the Qatari capital, to release funds to stabilise the country's struggling economy.

"This IMF deal is not based on ground realities, and the context has absolutely changed from the time that this deal was negotiated," Bilawal told Reuters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
"This deal is a pre-Covid deal. It is a pre-Afghanistan fallout deal. It is a pre-Ukrainian crisis deal. It is a pre-inflation deal," he said.

Terming the deal "outdated," he said it would be unfair and unrealistic to expect a developing country like Pakistan to navigate geopolitical issues under the current agreements.

...said so yesterday and the "long march" has been called off by kaptaan saab today when he was right outside the border of Islamabad ! Shiekh Rashid is now saying that there will be another "long march" if the government does not call for elections soon ! :rotfl:

The net result of this drama ? Officially 5 PTI suckers who believed in their messiah are dead and several injured. Many cops and paramilitary forces are also injured. Millions of worthless paki rupee property has been damaged and the youthias who emptied their savings to fill their cars will now have to go home broke with tails tucked , damaged cars, injured lungs and legs ! The establishment continues to hold the ultimate stick in al bakistan, Imran would have received a clear message that he'll be sunroofed if he enters Islamabad.

So what next ? Probably fresh elections before Bajwa's term expires . Show some semblance of functioning democracy to get loans from IMF, use the Shariffs to get oil from KSA and UAE, removed some subsidies and then let the government collapse.

I asked this question in the 'Pakistan Economic Stress watch' thread a month ago - why did the establishment decide to pull the plug on Imran now knowing how bad the economic situation is ? The smart thing to do was to let Imran fall on his own sword, pull the subsidies, let inflation run wild and let the citizens bay for his blood. Then call for elections and install the shariffs as "white knights" to save the day. Instead the establishment ended up helping Imran by taking the pressure off him, making him a martyr and pretty much closing the doors on shariffs returning to power for the next 3 yrs.

The only reason we could think that Bajwa has confirmed retirement by end of Nov 22and Im the dim has planned to get Faiz or his pasand person. The other factions within the PA want PML ,PPP to appoint someone else. As generally with Musharaf, Pasha, Kiyani, Bajwa and subordinates all took extensions and hence many officers below them retire without making money.

So this is for jostling for PA positions.

Apparently ISIS Khurasan is targeting policemen in Peshawar. Bhy phor?
PESHAWAR: Yet another police inspector has been gunned down in front of his children by unidentified attackers on the outskirts of Peshawar on Wednesday. Police told The Express Tribune that Inspector Sahar Gul was a resident of Surizai village who was taking his children to school in the morning when terrorists intercepted his car and attacked him. “They opened fire at Sahar Gul, killing him on the spot.
It may be recalled that on May 15 unidentified miscreants attacked two Sikh traders near their shops. They were riding a bike and used an AK-47 rifle. Then on May 19, in a similarly dare-devil attack SHO Shakeel was gunned down on Motorway.

He was on his way to police station in the morning in his motorcar and the attackers chased him in a white car and attacked him. A day before the attack at SHO, an inspector of IB was killed inside the city. He was a resident of Darra Adam Khel. Talking to reporters after the attack at SHO, IGP had said that TTP was not involved in these attacks and a separate group had been identified. He said that these miscreants would be arrested soon.
Police investigation teams claimed that the attackers were affiliated with ISISKhurasan and the same group was involved in the Kocha Risaldar suicide attack inside the old walled city in Peshawar. Interestingly on May 14 Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) had claimed killing the mastermind behind Kocha Risadar attack along with another terrorist in a pre-dawn raid in Peshawar.
