Where from here? :((
It seems we have hit the rock bottom! The economy has drifted so far, and presumably so fast over the last one year, that it might take years to recover. Political polarisation is at its peak with mud-slinging on petty issues – something which can deservedly be called dirty politics. And society feels disowned and individual citizens discarded. The state institutions, instead of working in harmony towards the common good, are pitched against one another seemingly fighting their own turf wars. The enormity of challenges and complexity of problems continue to push the country to an unknown horrible destiny with no ‘leader’ worth the salt coming forward to look beyond his/her nose and salvage the sinking boat!

Every year begins with ambivalence and indifference! Ask any Pakistani living here or abroad and you would see most people attributing their socio-economic problems to political leadership. Since the independence, a culture of palace intrigues and power politics has evolved which keeps competent and honest people at bay and lets the elite class take turns. Pakistan at present stands at the crossroads; its nuclear capability, its huge population, its geographic position, and most importantly, its ideological foundation make it the centre of gravity for the whole world. But at the same time, political instability, religious intolerance and economic meltdown lead the country to a state of despair.
The youth in Pakistan, like anywhere in the world, can move the mountains. They can do wonders if they are exposed to understand what lies ahead and be prepared for it. Unfortunately, what is happening today to the youth is making them the weapons of mass destruction. Extremist tendencies, shaped by a narrow worldview, have pushed Pakistan into fire. Also, blind following of liberalism is making the youth cut from its roots. Both extremism and liberalism make Pakistan what it was not destined to be.

Given the structured nature of opportunities and problems, people in general have accepted the existing order as predestined that can and should not be altered in any way. Those who talk of revolution – provided they really mean it – have to change this underlying narrative. It is here that media can play an effective role. But unfortunately the media – which is supposed to stand up for truth, speak truth to power, and protect the rights of marginalised classes in society – is bitterly divided playing either to the gallery or speaking of the powerful and for the powerful.

US hints at reviving post-9/11 era anti-terror initiatives with Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The United States on Tuesday hinted at reviving some of the counter-terrorism initiatives of the post-9/11 era to assist Pakistan in tackling the renewed threat of terrorism posed by the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other groups.

The development came at the conclusion of the two-day counter-terrorism dialogue Pakistan hosted against the backdrop of a new wave of terrorism.

The two-day policy-focused meeting was chaired by the US Department of State Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Christopher Landberg and Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Additional Secretary for the UN and Economic Diplomacy, Syed Haider Shah.
The US assistance projects in Pakistan were discussed, with a particular focus on capacity building in anti-money laundering and the justice sector. Both sides highlighted the importance of these projects in enhancing Pakistan’s capacity to counter-terrorism.

The two sides shared their experiences in countering the financing of terrorism. They reaffirmed their commitment to address the common threat of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

They also agreed to continue this dialogue and develop a better understanding of the terrorist threat.

At some point they have to.. they have realised that India, under Modi, will not do all that they want w.r.t China - QUAD or Hexagon or whatever..

They have realised the carrot-and-stick (see below) approach doesn't work with India as effectively as the baksheesh-or-bamboo one with the Pakis

COAS assures businessmen ‘worst is behind us'
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was invited by the army chief to attend the session
Head of Pakistan's biggest business conglomerate meets other businessmen to give assurances about economy.
General Asim repeatedly referred to Islamic teachings to assure his audience that Pakistan will successfully overcome the present testing times.
The businessmen conveyed to the army chief the nation expected the military would not allow polarisation and chaos to deepen any further.

The source said the army chief said the military was playing its role and trying to develop unanimity.

It was also said by one of those present in the meeting that there was only one hurdle in reaching the much-needed unanimity.

PTI says worker killed in police crackdown in Lahore following imposition of Section 144

From what I could gather, it seems the Great Khan declared a great rally in Lahore. The showbaaz government declared Section 144 right before making the rally essentially illegal :rotfl: . On seeing this the Great Khan promptly turned tail and canceled the rally. But the unemployed abduls have nothing better to do anyway and showed up to do jeehard against the showbaaz govt. The Police took out the danda and ended up beating one guy to death and injuring more.

Deaf and Dumb forum is as usual a riot after this with everyone and his goat demanding both the showbaaz government and the army generals to be given the lamp post treatment.

Sample comments from erstwhile fanboys and defenders of the great napak army from deaf and dumb forum (not linking the page here for obvious reasons):
The Pakistan Army is a corrupt, disgusting, fascist institution.

The top Army leadership (retired and serving) needs to be prosecuted and hanged for treason and violation of the constitution.

...

The statement ‘Pakistanis will sell their mothers for dollars’ was made with the Pakistani Army leadership in mind.

Bunch of cowardly hyenas and pimps pretending to have class and intellect because they know how to polish their boots, iron their uniforms and use silverware.
^^This is from a guy who was ardently defending the Fauj even in international forums like WAB after the OBL-Abbotabad fiasco.

Another couple of gems from other former napak army fans
Anyone thinks that Pakistan is liveable in the presence of goons in uniform lives in a fool's paradise.

It is an enterprise, that only gets tamed by outsiders.
We really are living in goddamn North Korea!
Goes to show everything Indians used to say about our army turned out to be true.. In reality India’s armed forces are far more professional and support the government not the other way round..

This change has been happening in teetar as well.

Dimmy fans are now outraged that the Fauj is no longer supporting their hero. It is not the case that they want the fauj out of politics, they are upset that they are not supporting Dimmy.

I think even the big danda, his jernails and kernails are pressured by their subordinates and relatives about not supporting dimmy. They even had a #GaddarBajwa hashtag trending.

I think the army has a lot of incentive to sunroof-lever our beloved Kaptaan.

Imran Khan Popularity Soars Ahead of Vote, Pakistan Survey Shows

A majority of Pakistanis blame a coalition government for the soaring inflation in a country that’s struggling to shore up finances and avoid a default while support for former premier Imran Khan soared ahead of elections.

An opinion poll published by Gallup this week found that 62% of the 2,000 respondents blamed the Pakistan Democratic Movement that makes up government for the economic turmoil and inflation coming up to a six-decade high. Khan’s approval ratings in contrast jumped to 61% in February from 36% in January last year, polling data showed.

If you survey Peearef, they'd find 400% support for Kaptaan :rotfl:

Kaptaan should come back as PM, throw the money back at IMF and threaten China that he'd kick them out if they dont fork cash. He should also strengthen Pakistan's brotherly relations with the taliban, build an alternate center of ummah power against Saudis, and put massa in its place.

Jail the looters Badmash and tenpercenti, put cases against Bajwa, bring back Faiz and dismiss the big danda Munir. If someone can build a true riyasat-e-medina, it is Kaptaan

women and transgender people from various fields gathered outside the Press Club for the ‘Aurat March’ rally, where the local police thrashed the attendees with batons and allegedly tried to stop the rally.

Jernail against Jernail, Bhatiji against Chacha.. ghor kaliyug. Or just another normal day in Pakistan.

Yawn - Ex-ISI chief being investigated for corruption: Sanaullah
Former spy chief retired Lt-Gen Faiz Hamid is being investigated for alleged corruption, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah revealed, while his party leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif called for the retired general’s court martial over his alleged role in bringing down her father’s government and implicating both her and Nawaz Sharif in NAB cases.

Meanwhile, Gen Hamid also seemed to break his silence over the fresh wave of allegations being levelled against him — by the PML-N in general and Ms Sharif in particular — when he told a journalist that it is the army chief who calls the shots in the military.

..

During the interview, Ms Nawaz also opened up about the episode of her arrest from Lahore airport in 2018, saying that she still had regrets over the fact that a rally led by her uncle, incumbent PM Shehbaz Sharif, could not reach the airport in time, before she and her father were arrested.

When asked who would be her party’s pick for the slots of prime minister and finance minister if they win the next general elections, Ms Sharif smiled but refrained from answering.

This is not the first time Ms Sharif has been critical of her uncle and his government.

Oh man, not a good sign that boundary walls of incest club are waking up. We need Kaptaan as Pak PM immediately. Meanwhile peyare bharatbasi please refrain from giving them reality check. Start Aman-ki-Tamasha to keep them in good humour at chai-biskut level to put them back to sleep or some WAR blaster to lighting up LOC to drain them faster to make full bonk before they go full awake.

In fact I think a little hot LOC will help stop possible opportunist eco migration. Some news flashing - already attempts are made from POK.

PAKISTAN AND ELITISM
It is widely known that Pakistani polity is under the strong grip of elites that think only about themselves and pay no attention to the welfare of millions of their compatriots.

There is neither any control over these elites nor there is any accountability process to help them. These Pakistan and elitism elites have caused enormous harm to the interests of the Pakistani people along with manipulating the state itself.

These elites comprise a relatively small dominant group and social category of people who occupy a position of privilege or dominance and have a privileged status within a larger society and have taken undue advantage of their position. It stands for a group or groups that hold power in a social system and exercise dominating influence on carrying out public decisions.

Such power and privilege are out of sync with the usual notions associated with them. This lopsided situation causes a serious disruption in the natural state of affairs and results in a critical lack of societal balance. It is usually observed that though elitist classes belong to a multiplicity of social strata yet from their perspective, they remain united so that they can wield stronger power. They consider keeping hold of power as their ideology and they rarely abandon it.
The main decisions are made by an elite composed of the people at the top of the three big institutional hierarchies comprising political, military, and economic elites that form a triangle of power. These major institutional orders are interdependent and interlocked, and their members share a common worldview and a class identity and they consider themselves as being separate and superior to the rest of the society.

Keeping in view their very nature elitists in general are criticized for focusing on political domination and failing to identify it with the economic class that owns the means of production. These elites all belong to the same dominant social class and share the same social origins, the same networks, and the same ideology. Their leaders share the same origins, the same interests, and the same education and training.

Their solidarity stems from their social similarities and psychological affinities in which their common training plays a critical role as the basis for permanent alliances of power and strategic marriages and other affiliations. Educational institutions participating in the reproduction of the power of the wealthy few.

Schools and universities are indeed developed by the upper class and are filled with their children, who are socialized in an upper-class worldview along with the newly wealthy people who are assimilated there. The primary reason for such homogeneity is their social and class origins which grants them easy access to positions of power both in and out of the government.
They view their hold on societal organs as tenuous and fear that their overthrow by the general public will eventually lead to serious disruption in their status. Owing to this consideration they refute the possibility of the existence of an ideal democracy as it is harmful to their existence and dominance. Many analysts are of the view that the existence of elites at all times and places is a natural phenomenon because of the unequal distribution of talent, wealth, and political influence in society.

As a consequence, it is assumed that the great masses of people are largely unorganized, ill-informed, virtually powerless, and controlled and manipulated by the powerful elites who exploit them both economically and politically. Their dependence and disorganization prevent the masses from participating in democratic life and the elitists try hard to ensure that their hold remains permanent.
The political directorate itself is described as undemocratic in both the process of its selection and its maintenance. Moreover, it is believed that the widespread alienation of the masses. Despite the prevailing situation in Pakistan is slowly changing as the elites suffer from the critical lack of legitimacy and this point has now become the focus of public attention.

It is also observed that the extent of elites’ positions of authority is determined by the reactions of the public toward those who hold power and currently such reactions in Pakistan are massively negative towards them. The existence of political elites depends on the legitimacy of their authority in the eyes of the people and since they lack it in large measure therefore their grip is strongly challenged though the opposition and resistance have not reached the level where it could easily dislodge them.

The situation is such that there is no option but to strike a compromise that points out that an allowance is given to the fact that the democratic process does allow the emergence of merit-based public representation that though may not have reached satisfactory levels but is slowly getting there. It appears that the situation is ripe for removing the influence exercised by elites in the Pakistani polity and it may not be long before it takes place.

If the 4 fathers are not ready to put doller in the abyss (Primary assumption), then that actually good I think. Awam will rally for PA. good for PA to continue sucking the blood more vigorously. How long will that last or awam keep eating grass / die for PA peanut dole ? Soon infighting will make sure it is true Kabila life - a new normal, Kabila with assorted price tag to hire for. The next will be easy to claim stake for Baluchi / Sindhi / Pasthu whoever can group for higher cause. A good peaceful disintegration without mad rush to border by rabid pakjabis. And PA will no longer be the driver, when bone go dry they will not continue to be the purelander, they would be with PA-Piglets in Haram lands of west. As a society they cant be anymore Rabid than what they already are, time to throw the pretentious elite under the bus to help them make the choice.

A good start would be air space violation by IAF in random interval with some random BJP guy blustering speech. Let them spend for expensive spares. Next would be Navy to show where it needs them to draw PA warships burn some serious amount.

Saw some youtubers are mocking their won awam sarcastically for accepting "indian wheat". These are sign of course correction. Started with tickle now, but can gain momentum. Do we really need dumb pakjabis to become smart to mask their rabid-ness and being stronger to plan their next move ?

Something eludes me. Pakistan may not be a safe place for Muslims. How is this India’s concern?

Even the Muslims in India are so solicitous of Pakistan’s welfare that they won’t migrate there and overpopulate it.

But this fellow has other solutions.

Means total KLPD. There were images and videos of few people here and there. Only one dead allegedly in police beating. Few injured. It hilarious to see PTI people calling it a revolution.

understanding breeds empathy, this sword has been double-edged for us indians for a long time now, as the magnanimity of grasping the notion is only secondary to the openhandedness of dealing with the foe; bhagat has laid many points for why the unification would be better for the foe, wheres the selfsame analysis from the indian pov? seeding this one-sided dialogue is merely softening the intellectual grounds for the scope creep mind virus of refuge, rehabilitation and re-introduction.

questioning the morality will not have mattered as the topic would have gained ground / discussed in public mindspace, leading to further sob stories of abdul and his family of 12 younglings (child-bearers and children), fatimah and her brood of squatter half-breeds with their farms of weed, dust and ashes, leading to mass understanding brought by the handy tools of oversocialisation, sm. The way to tackle it is to effectively cleave the heart in 2 for our brave candle kissers, madrassa statistics are in public domain and they show that pakistan is in much better shape than many parts of india in different areas of measurement, when opinion-makers ask for any measures, use this data to show that pakistan actually does not want for much, so any calls for transfer of food, medical supplies, raw materials ityadi must be countered by stating that it is required for our own poor population.

the world is an effective echo-chamber, ground realities do not matter much for the ever-outraged, they simply want to superficially know a problem and then amplify the noise and pontificate in brightly-lit media rooms, so simply use the paki proclivity of h&d preservation to deny the existence of any problem, always amplifying that the wealth of pakistan is with the elite and the only problem is corruption which can be rectified with the right people, focussing on the sock-puppet leaders and not on any institution correction, focussing with termite-like precision to deny any empathy to gain ground in the common man's psyche.

at the end, it is not about defeating the enemy, it is about crippling them for life

Everyone living in Mumbai city (and other metros) is well aware of that.
besides kandle kissing of these wokes, what exactly is our compulsion, or even our misplaced obsession, in feeding snakes that others' are wilfully nurturing and growing in their backyards.

Due to economic condition friday leave extended to a greater number of days in week. There are attacks, mostly against police and uniformed terrorists. Media is more concentrated on economic downturn, possible loans from here and there and political tussle with establishment even banning TV channels for showing captains talk.
