Road to the 2024 Elections in India-1
Re: Road to the 2024 Elections in India-1
Will it make any difference to Congress supporters?
If not then ultimately it makes no difference.

Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia decide to rejoin work after a meeting with @AmitShah! A sad day for the opposition! They really thought that they had struck gold when this protest was intensifying! "Bharat ki beti" has decided that politics is not for her!
Re: Road to the 2024 Elections in India-1
Given the caveat that politics changes overnight and all the disclaimers, given the current situation, here are my predictions:
1. Pappu will become increasingly irrelevant in politics. Pappini will be dusted and brought forward.
2. CONgoons may barely be able to go beyond 40 seats in 2024. I doubt it will even cross 24 in 2024.
Pappu wants to become the leader of the muslim league. Currently he is being humored and at the right moment will be junked.

Disha ji since when Pappu was ever relevant in politics? Pappini was dusted and brought forward many many times with the same results. I think their best bet is to bring in a conglomeration of regional parties and nominate some sort of leader like Nitish Kumar. Maybe put them under a UPA umbrella and claim some sort of consolation prize in 2024.disha wrote:Given the caveat that politics changes overnight and all the disclaimers, given the current situation, here are my predictions:

That may work in Punjab or may be in parts of Haryana. Will the people and state police of other states like MP, UP, AP, TN, KA etc allow this to happen on their highways and inconvenience the people of those states? From what I have observed, trucking is not just a Sikh only profession in India any more. People from all states gets involved.vijayk wrote:They are getting all the Sikh truck drivers to block highways

Farm unions’ protests against low compensation for land acquisition behind the move
LOOKING for alternative route
The process to identify an alternative route has already begun. This will be a setback for the border district as development initiatives in any area are invariably based on the network of good roads.
A senior official confirmed that they are in talks with the unions. “However, if they continue with the protests, we may be forced to remove Gurdaspur district from the original route,” the official added.
The process of identifying an alternative route has already begun. This would be a setback for the border district as development initiatives in any area are invariably based on a network of good roads.
The process of acquiring land is the responsibility of the district administration. SDM Amandeep Kaur Ghuman said a total of 1,700 farmers, whose land is to be taken over, had been identified.
“A majority of them have already been paid compensation. The process to pay the others is on,” she said, adding, “There are many people whose landholdings are reflected in revenue records. However, we are unable to trace them. Some have settled abroad. This development makes our task all the more arduous.”
The unions, led by Sarwan Singh Pandher, president of the Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharash Committee, are in no mood to relent. DC Himanshu Aggarwal exuded optimism and said talks are on. However, with the agriculturists being adamant, his optimism may turn out to be misplaced.
“The unions have already harassed the public a lot by regularly blocking roads and rail tracks. They are now planning to intensify their agitation,” said an official.
The litchi growers of Pathankot will be among the worst hit if the project gets stalled.
They were viewing the expressway as their El-Dorado. “Litchi being a highly perishable fruit, the expressway would have increased our profits manifold because of the double quick time in which our trucks would have reached Delhi,” said Daljit Singh Lally Cheema, a litchi grower.
Observers say it will be a sad day for an underdeveloped border district like Gurdaspur if the expressway is re-routed. “With the expressway could have come big ticket projects and with these projects, could have come prosperity,” said an administration official.

Chargesheet against Brij Bhushan filed; Delhi Police push for cancelling POCSO case
Charge sheet does NOT mean proven guilty. And POCSO charges (which have very severe punishments) also have been dropped. But the question remains, whether BJP has again been stumped by the wrestler gang and Dakait? My observation is that off late, any charge levelled against BJP Govt or its MPs do seem to have some relevance, all though it may not be as severe as what the seculars and main stream media try to portray. Even in this Brij Bushan case, POSCO charge was dropped but stalking and indecent behaviour charges are still there in the charge sheet.
The secular progressive liberal group and other BIF have got their game planned very well this time. This is my gut feeling. Every ministry of Modi's Govt is being watched and some problems identified in it (The Odisha rail accident is the most recent one). It is like a dedicated team has now been put in place to watch on the key ministries. Riots in Manipur is still not in control. Dakait and gang is being allowed to run uncontrolled in the Jatt strong holds. On social media, feeds supporting the secular progressive liberal gang now come in repeatedly.
And the icing on the cake is Don’t provoke DMK cadres: MK Stalin's warning to BJP after Senthil Balaji’s ED arrest.
Vishwa Guru & Co seems to be just moving on, without any counter measures being taken on the ground. If they feel building temple at Ram Janma Bhumi will get them votes, I feel they are mistaken big time.

After 9 years and with indiscriminate intake of Netas. It's quite possible that someone is dirty to some degree.
So the blow will land. It's inevitable.
What's disheartening is the lack of counter punch.
It's almost as if, the party has lost initiative.
That too when the PM is the most popular leader in the country.

What role is being played by the Himachal cabal these days. Why are functionaries of a postage stamp state allowed to run party affairs of a vast country when they could not win in their own state.
They need to start sending ministers back to the party for election duties. Lot of back room analysis needs to happen to win national elections. MP/Raj/CG elections will show whether BJP can push back the CongI offensive.
The other thing is should BJP start welcoming regional parties like the Akalis and TDP back into the NDA?

Re: Road to the 2024 Elections in India-1
+ the PM appears to believe that development alone shall take the BJP over the 2024 election besides RJB. I don’t think the Indian electorate is that ‘progressive’ to not be influenced by other (ideological) considerations. Manipur, KA and the train accident has dented somewhat the 2024 momentum. The counter offensive must have strong visible tangible raw street power to regain the momentum.
Re: Road to the 2024 Elections in India-1
Yes, that is worrisome. The only visible development which I see is the Vande Bharat rakes rolling out and the large scale highway building by NHAI (under N Gadkari). Apart from that there is no grand major schemes coming from the Central government. Earlier there were schemes like LPG Gas, Clean toilets etc; which were said to be why lot of women voted for BJP. This time I see no such schemes. To be honest; I feel Modi has an achiless heel, which is narcissism and an urge to get certified by the world. Hence the focus on all these Viswa Guru schemes. The BJP as a party also seems to be relying on A. Shah and N. Modi.Pratyush wrote:What's disheartening is the lack of counter punch.

The train accident I feel people may give it a pass if a proper enquiry is done and the report made public. KA elections clearly proved that without a stable, credible state level leadership winning state elections is impossible. Congress played their cards smartly in KA. Bommai and co were seen as plain simple dumbos who hoped some one else will do the hard work. Manipur again shows that the security, intelligence machinery under BJP is pretty much dysfunctional. In Manipur weapons were stolen from the police armouries, which shows the aptitude of the police. Be it Farmer broker gang protests, Dakait's dramas or any protest in Delhi, Haryana areas the central government seems to be totally unaware of them. No premeptive measures taken and the seiege and blockades start. And ultimately GoI would capitulate. Right from Anti-CAA riots at Shaheen Baug, Modi & Shah have clearly shown that riots, seiges and blockades are the way to now force the hands of the Central Government.krithivas wrote:Manipur, KA and the train accident has dented somewhat the 2024 momentum. Re: Road to the 2024 Elections in India-1
+ The lack of a public visible forceful response to such well-orchestrated riots, seiges and blockades will only fuel more such actions. At the end of the day, Indians are 'Hindus' including the 'peacefuls' in a pejorative sense just to make a point. An awesome public display of forceful state response will put an end to these 'andolan-jeevis'. It is time to bring back the shiver in these dhotis.
PS - I'm concerned about Modi's single point agenda of progress to the extent of allowing andolanjeevis run-riot.

nothing wrong in this focus.
the war with bif is not one battle. but 100s of them. we are going to loose some battles and win some.
in the 9 years of Modi we have won
- 70 year Kashmir battle
- Khalistan battle
- Naxal battle
- pakistan in dire straits
- Oppn is in disarray - DMK, AAP, BSP, SP nearing defeat.
New battles are started - Manipur, Train sabotage, etc. expected in an election year.
we will overcome this too. why so much despondency?

Yes, as time goes by and basic services have been delivered, more schemes will be made targeting specific niches. Many of them may not be visible to middle class people people such as ourselves since we don't depend on them. We have running water, a roof over our heads (own/rented) and decent life/health insurance coverage (self/through work).
What are these?Sachin wrote:Hence the focus on all these Viswa Guru schemes.
