Right totally agree.
But when are going to see true devolution of power i.e., local comittee conducting interviews and shortlisting 2-3 candidates who resonate with the population going to vote him or her??
I mean the mantra is whoever is the winnable candidate (be it a bahubali or otherwise, 9th pass or fail) and has right famiglia and money to spend we give tiket
The party with a difference seems to be blurring
Once a canddiate spends ex amount of money to get elected, later spends 3/4 of his term in office recouping his expenditure+ Malai on the top
Where is the time for working towards local goals unless Central Government or State Government funds something meaty so that all can bite in and whatever is left is used for the local work.
The local committees suggesting candidates is how it worked when state Gen.Secretary for Party Organization was conducting the surveys and taking decisions. The party changed the process sometime in 2017 after UP allowing the national general secretary override party General Secretary for Organization.

Majority of Indian voters don't live in ideological bubbles but will vote based on whom they think will uphold their interest at local, regional and national levels. This is also why your average Indian citizen has come to an acceptance that there is ZERO difference between the parties atleast at local/regional level, you expect your MLA to be worth few hundred crores, you expect your state ministers with plum portfolios to be worth four digit crore rupees but you also expect them to do something for your caste, community, town, village etc. Parties know this too, and hence they choose bahubali, high school fail strongman, nepotistic son/daughter of some local leader to contest in elections. Trouble is when there is confusion between ideology, realism, favoritism, and then you end up losing 40 seats by an average of 7.8% vote share as they just did.

This is the centre taking on the pillar, not khujliwal.

khujliwal is merely some inconsequential collateral damage but it's great that he truly got rogered in the process.

Let's see how the hizzonners respond

The first signs of a much needed spine finally emerge......

poor khujli and his paapis ..... waat lagli ...... double whammy onlee .... pehle notebandi aur ab yeh ordinance
All about Centre's ordinance on control of services in Delhi
The Centre on Friday issued an ordinance to once again take control of the services department of the Delhi government. This comes days after the Supreme Court had given control of services to the Delhi government. Here's a look at what the ordinance says and what its provisions are.

https://www.indiatoday.in/law/story/cen ... 2023-05-20

The Amendment to the GNCTD Act has now created a “National Capital Civil Service Authority” which will now “make recommendations to the Lieutenant Governor regarding matters concerning transfer posting, vigilance and other incidental matters.” The NCCSA will consist of the elected Chief Minister of Delhi, the Chief Secretary of Delhi and the Principal Secretary, Home of the GNCTD.

The Ordinance has introduced a new "Part IV A" to the GNCTD Act, with 13 provisions-- under Section 45 A to Section 45-M, which is titled "Provisions relating to the maintenance of the democratic and administrative balance in the governance of the National Capital Territory of Delhi."

The Statement of objects and reasons of the Ordinance says that the ‘Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 is proposed to provide for a comprehensive scheme of administration of services deployed in the functioning of NCTD and other allied issues, thereby balancing the local and domestic interests of the people staying in the NCTD with the democratic will of the entire nation reflected through the President of India.”

Effectively, under the new ordinance, the Chief Secretary and Home Secretary could potentially take a decision regarding transfer/posting, vigilance, discipline, etc and send the recommendation to the LG, without the Chief Minister even being
present at the meeting.

The ordinance points out that the Supreme court decision on the interpretation of Article 239 AA, Entry 41 “in the absence of any specific Parliamentary legislation dealing with the subject of services.”

The verdict itself had noted that since there is no Central legislation governing the Services and the decision-making process in Delhi, the power would lie with the Elected government. Now with this ordinance, the Centre has removed the basis and reason on which the judgment was given.

FINAL CALL BY THE L-G

Further, the Ordinance gives power to the LG to make a final decision in case there is a difference of opinion between the authority and the LG.

Cyrano ji,

remember how this demented clown ran amok when he got control over the govt in punjab, arresting people in other states until the other states started to react and sorted out the punjab police operating within their boundaries

He wanted to do that very thing in dilli and with so many foreign embassies operating from the capital, it would have caused chaos of major dimensions for which the GoI would have been answerable

good that he got cut off at the knees

Chetak ji, the RBI/GoI has kept a provision that Account holders who are KYC compliant can deposit 'any' amount of the Rs 2000 denomination in any number of visits.

So those who legally hold more than 20,000 worth of the denomination can simply furnish their KYC status in their bank branch and get it changed/deposited.

Personally speaking I haven't got a single Rs 2000 note and haven't been dispensed even one in an ATM in the last 2 years.

Sachin'ji, I have seen political families where one brother is in BJP and other brother is in Congress and both the brothers meet only perfunctorily.

For all purpose Nirmala'ji lives in Delhi while nobody knows or cares about her husband. And it might be that her husband is bitter about his own career and goes around with Mudi bashing. Mudi bashing is the fashion of the day.

Pappu does it. Pappini does it. And all empty kettles with the ego of himalaya do it.

Let's say if the entire population of Reykjavik, Iceland wakes up in the morning and does randi rona of mudi this and mudi that, that population will still be less than 0.01% of India's population.

I am sure in any given population, you will definitely find 0.01% of population with mental health issues. Well in US, CDC estimates that any given point of time 20% of the US population has mental health issues. So definitely 0.01% of population will have serious mental health issues.

Like getting up everyday and blaming all their issues on Mudi. Loss of privilege, blame it on Mudi. Inability to boast about their network, blame it on Mudi. Inability hoard cash. Blame it on Mudi. Inability to be a perpetual negative on India, blame it on Mudi.

So there is no point in analysing Nirmala'jis husband. He is a perpetual dookhi atman (perpetual sorrowful soul).

As for Nirmalaji, if you think she is a very bad or not so good finance minister, then you can have the pick of the following:

1. Silvina Batakis or Sergio Massa, Argentina. Argentina is going through 100+% inflation
2. Grant Robinson, New Zealand. In NZ, Fruit and vegetable prices surged 22.5 percent year-on-year and grocery prices were up 14 percent.People are buying essential items on loans (buy now and pay later).
3. Chinese Finance Minister, Hu Kaun (who is it?)
4. Janet Yellen, US. Janet Yellen Blames Everybody Else for the Financial Panic. WSJ.
5. Chrystia Freeland, Canada. Rupa Banianwali likes her a lot.

I think India's economic management is spectacular. Inspite of rising US rates, the Rupee is holding up and no small thanks to Nirmala Sitharaman. She has done a tremendous job.

Of course, every pet peeve is local. Cannot argue against that. But in case anyone is wondering what is happening in US, Japan, UK, France & Germany, here are some stats:

1. Drug Overdose death rate in US >100k in 2021. And climbing. https://nida.nih.gov/research-topics/tr ... eath-rates
2. Japan's economy last quarter grew by 1.4%. Better than expected and a huge cheer went up. It is 1.4%.
3. UK economy has reached a perilous moment. That's what their chamber of commerce saying https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newslett ... ous-moment

It is so depressing, I am skipping France and Germany.

Remember, Indian economy must be compared with either its neighbours (Pakistan, B'desh, S'Lanka & Nepal) or its economic equivalent in sub-saharan Africa to get a report card on Nirmala'ji.

Delhi was never a state. It has always been a UT, either with or without a legislature. The terms found in the media such as "partial statehood" etc are colloquial and don't have any well-defined meaning.

Delhi has a unique setup since it is a highly populous area which requires a large municipal/civil administration, unlike the much smaller Chandigarh. It is not the Central government's job to expend effort managing such a large municipality, and hence some powers have been devolved to a legislature and other civic bodies.

This is probably a decent, albeit imperfect, situation for the current NCR as it stands. I do agree the need for a legislature is debatable if it can be superseded by effective city councils.

The only effective way that a Centrally administered UT can be created is to use the Washington DC model. I.e., New Delhi (the government district and few surrounding areas) should be defined as a UT directly under Central administration. The rest of NCR should be merged with Haryana and UP.

A historic moment for India!

Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi will be installing the sacred Sengol, a piece of our national history gifted by priests from Tamil Nadu on the eve of India’s independence in 1947, in the new Parliament on 28 May’23.
via@VanathiBJP

'Sengol', a historical sceptre from Tamil Nadu which was received by first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to represent transfer of power from the British and was kept in a museum in Allahabad, will be installed in the new Parliament building to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Wednesday

Image

Image

https://www.livemint.com/news/india/wha ... 16861.html

According to historical accounts and news reports, the origin of the 'Sengol' can be traced back to a series of events initiated by Lord Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of British India. It is said that Mountbatten posed a straightforward question to Prime Minister Nehru regarding how the transfer of power would be symbolized once India achieved its independence.

After being asked by Prime Minister Nehru about a symbol to mark India's transfer of power, he sought advice from C Rajagopalachari, the last Governor General of the country. Rajagopalachari, also known as Rajaji, shared the Tamil tradition of a high priest presenting a sceptre to a newly crowned king as a symbolic gesture of power transition. He suggested that this tradition, observed during the Chola dynasty, could serve as a significant symbol of India's freedom from British rule. Consequently, Rajaji took on the responsibility of procuring a sceptre for this historic moment.

Charged with the challenging responsibility of acquiring the sceptre that would symbolize India's Independence, Rajaji reached out to Thiruvaduthurai Atheenam, a prominent religious institution in present-day Tamil Nadu. The spiritual leader of the mutt at that time willingly took on the task.

The 'Sengol' was crafted by Vummidi Bangaru Chetty, a renowned jeweller in what was then known as Madras. This impressive sceptre measures five feet in length and features a 'nandi' bull at the top, representing the concept of justice.

As per reports, a senior priest from the mutt initially presented the sceptre to Mountbatten, only to retrieve it shortly afterward. The sceptre was then sanctified by sprinkling it with Ganga Jal (holy water). It was carried in a procession to Prime Minister Nehru and delivered to him approximately 15 minutes before midnight, signifying the moment of India's Independence. Accompanying this significant event, a special song was composed and performed as Prime Minister Nehru received the sceptre.
Imagine wilfully hiding away a historical treasure like this, a tangible evidence, symbolizing the transfer of power from the britshits to an independent India, left purposely buried in some dusty museum in faraway allahabad.

Such an idea could have only come from the colonial mindset of neverwho

This should have immediately found a prominent space at a vantage point, and merited a public display at the entrance to our parliament.

luckily, we did not have imran ahmed khan niazi, otherwise the little schitt would have sold this too

Not only 'Sengol', the reason for midnight freedom was due to astrological reasons.
Nehru may have been an atheist; he may have personally stayed away from practising religion or subscribing to ritual, but in matters of national destiny, he was willing to make a compromise. For him, at least in this one instance, God rather than Mountbatten was the master in the matter. Legend has it that he consulted Goswami Ganesh Dutt, the president of the Sanatan Dharam (traditionally the largest non-political Hindu organization), and a leading Hindu seer. After looking at the astrological charts, he shook his head sadly and said that both the dates suggested by Nehru, 14 and 15 August, were inauspicious. Both indicated a life of strife and uncertainty if India came into independent existence on either of these dates. Pandit Nehru had no choice beyond these two dates and told him so. Nehru asked him to consult the charts again and suggest the more favourable time, or the least troublesome time, within that two-day period. It was then that Goswami Ganesh Dutt came up with the suggestion of ringing in independence at the midnight hour. According to his calculations a birth at that time was the most propitious in an otherwise bad period. But he also warned Nehru, ‘This doesn’t mean that India will be free of troubles. It only means that it will face less of them in comparison to Pakistan, but it too will face problems because that is destined in the charts.’ Mountbatten was not troubled by the worries of inauspicious signs and their bleak connotations.

Sengol | Evidence thin on government’s claims about the sceptre
There is ample evidence that a delegation sent by Sri la Sri Ambalavana Pandarasannadhi Swamigal, the head of the Adheenam, presented the sceptre to Nehru, accompanied by the recital of hymns from Thevaram. However, evidence is thin on the government’s claim that this presenting of sceptre was treated by the leaders and the then government as the symbolic transfer of power.
Take it you communal bigot hindus. it was Ambalavana Pandarasannadhi Swamigal gifted "walking stick" to Nehru and not power transfer. News reports and books do not clearly establish that this presenting of the sceptre was treated by the leaders and the then government as the symbolic transfer of power. we would have hid the first part too if there was no photos and articles.

The Sengol would have been acceptable to Mr. Nehru, if it came without Nandi on top. Once he saw Nandi, he decided to get rid of it ASAP and as quietly as possible.

Folks are looking it at this the wrong way:

1. If India is Indira and Indira is India and politics runs in the chaddi of Pappu and Pappini, then it is evident that whatever is gifted to great grandfather Lehru belongs to Pappu

2. India was a gift. So what is this Sengol? A small gift. Too bad, Indira and Rajiv could not use that as walking stick of great Lehru to which all of India belongs. Pappu the youth leader was planning to use it! Till then it gathered dust in some decrepit corner.

3. Communal and Bigoted Hindus talk about Danveer Karna, but not follow it. Once the Sengol, now christened as the great Lehru's walking stick, is given, what goes of the country?

4. Anyway, Anti-national CONgoons were so gracious that Chornia mata did not send the walking stick to Italy. Partly, Chornia had amassed so much that they just forgot about this inconsequential gift!

5. Big Bad Mudi must be boycotted just for taking away the walking stick, calling it Sengol and connecting back the south with the north and putting it at a place of pride in the very seat of democracy. On top of it, the walking stick was supposed to be used by Chornia in her old age. Mudi robbed poor Chornia of her walking stick <Please enter famous Nirupa Roy dialogues from Amar-Akbar-Anthony here>. So tyrannical.

Now if you support tyrannical Mudi, what are you? Nothing but communal bigoted SDRE Yindoos.

On the question which one is more important to India? Of course the 112 acres preserved as Vanas (forest) and Sthals (Places) for future generation of India to enjoy in peace. Parliament is always racous.

BTW, anti-national CONgoon pidi Jairam Ramesh, made this statement:
Earlier in the day, Congress’ General Secretary in-charge Communications, Jairam Ramesh claimed that there is “no documented evidence whatsoever of Mountbatten, Rajaji & Nehru describing this sceptre as a symbol of transfer of British power to India. All claims to this effect are plain and simple — BOGUS.

“Wholly and completely manufactured in the minds of a few and dispersed into WhatsApp, and now to the drum-beaters in the media,” he alleged.

“The sceptre is now being used by the Prime Minister and his drum-beaters for their political ends in Tamil Nadu. This is typical of this brigade that embroiders facts to suit its twisted objectives,” claimed Jairam Ramesh.
Given the pain anti-national CONgoon pidis are spreading around, I think Jairam Ramesh will be born a dog in his next birth.

Complaint Filed Against Kejriwal, Kharge For Citing President's Caste In Row Over New Parliament Opening
A complaint was filed against Arvind Kejriwal and Mallikarjun Kharge for allegedly making "inciteful statements" citing the caste of President Droupadi Murmu amid the row over new Parliament opening.
ABP News Bureau, 27 May 2023

A complaint has been filed against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and others for allegedly making "inciteful" remarks citing the caste of President Droupadi Murmu in connection with the event of the inauguration of the new Parliament building. The complaint comes as Opposition parties including the Congress, the AAP, the Shiv Sena UBT, and more critcised the Modi government for not inviting President Murmu to the historic event. Some of the leaders also made reference to her belonging to the Schedule Tribe community in their remarks.
The complaint has been filed by a Supreme Court advocate named Vineet Jindal, news agency ANI reported.
"The statement has been with the intent to promote enmity among communities/groups and trying to create distrust for the Government of India to fulfil their political motives which are an office under sections 121, 153(A), 505 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)," the complainant alleged, as quoted by ANI.
According to Jindal, the statements made by Kharge and Kejriwal were made intentionally, to refer to the "caste" of the esteemed President of India with the intention to portray that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the present Government have "deliberately not invited" the President for the inauguration of the new Parliament building.
These statements are widely published and circulated in news and social media and would result in provoking the ST and Adivasi community as our honourable President too belongs to Adivasi and ST community, the complaint further stated, as per ANI.

Somebody needs to tell the Central Vista project opposing biradari that 30-40 govt secretariats housed in private buildings (owned by congis, commies, wokes) taken on long rent will now be housed in their own separate offices.

This ends an outflow of more than 1000cr per annum to these congis. This is real reason these congis, commies, and wokes are resisting the Central Vista
