Light Combat Helicopter for Army, Air Force

Kanpur, July 12: After the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), now the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Army might soon get a Light Combat Helicopter being made at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

The Light Combat Helicopter will be armed for an anti-infantry and an anti-armour role and it will be the first of its kind in India, said TS Prahlad, consultant and former director of the National aeronautics Laboratories (NAL), who was at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) to preside over the National Conference on Wind Tunnel Testing on Thursday.

Prahlad told Newsline the NAL wanted to build a four-seater aircraft in collaboration with private industry.

“For that purpose, it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mahindra Plaxian and the aircraft is expected to come up in two years,â€

Prahlad added that the NAL was making a 70-seater regional transport aircraft, while the HAL was making a 100-seater aircraft for carrying troops.

[/b]
This is a terrrific news if true. Does it mean that RTA project of NAL has been cleared or Prahlad wanted to say that NAl "wants" to make it rather than "was making" the 70 seater aircraft.

More good news

HSTDV project is a entire DRDO's OWN Project, They have done Scramjet engine tests and done it succesfully.

Conditions under it was tested as follows I have excluded some details, It used Kerosene (Aviation grade fuel) for one test as well as one used Hydrogen, it uses a strut injector in tandem with Scramjet Combustor.
1) FLIGHT MACH NO : 6.5
2) ALTITUDE SIMULATED : 35KM
4) BURNER STAGNATION TEMPERATURE : 1500 K
7) TEST DURATION : 25 s
Two overcome some problems they designed after this Ramp-Cavity based Scramjet combustor and it has gone succesful tests as well.

Then they have finished designing Ramp Cavity based Scramjet combustor with Barbotage injection.

To conclude,
The experimental data generated on three configurations has provided a
useful insight for the configuration design of full-scale combustor for Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle (HSTDV). The wall pressure distributions achieved during the experiment has been used for the validation of CFD codes like CFX & Fluent.
Should I paste pics and all?
