C'mon shiv ji
Of course it is a game. Few in india have fired the MSMC, what to speak of outsiders.
But specs are available, weight, cartridge size, firing rate etc.
Someone wrote out a software with this data to simlate the gun

If the IA doesn't order it, OFB should market it overseas to other nations and sell it freely in arms markets outside.
It has built enough interest and reputation to have a cult following already

Actually the design shown in Video Game is old and the weapon has since improved further.

The above Which rifle is this? Looks like an AKM but presence of transparent magazine is confusing. Not to mention the green stuff on upper handguard.

OFB ghatak is not in use with RR.
The magazine is not transparent but one of the 'skeleton' magazine that looks trendy but brings dirt and grime into the gun. The magazine may have been picked from a dead tango as it is one of the trends in tacticool darra akms.
Rest of the gun has been modified with aftermarket akm parts. There are plenty of modification like these done at field level, sometimes out of the pocket by officers and jawans. Recently some Israeli firm bagged orders for upgraded akms by assam rifles.
Companies like MKU manufacture picatinny furniture for akms and insas too.

It is a minor point, but can't help but notice that a very large number of INSAS wth para-military forces are black in colour. What happened ?

Torch yes. But it look like some sort of clip on enlargement.

That Vidhwansak looks like it will live up to its name. One round into the engine compartment of a vehicle will kill it - or kill a sniper behind a wall. Is that one 12.7 mm or 20 mm?

Hoping today's money shot from the new Defence Minister some how
means there's hope ahead for the Indian Army's chronic small arms mess.

The way picatinny rail has been placed on top of Mk1C upper receiver is shoddy to say the least. This seems to have been fixed in latest versions.

Sandeep Unnithan is going to cover MSMC/JVPC / Milaap next. The finish on it is probably the best we have seen on any Indian firearm. The handguard has the switch for laser nicely integrated. It seems to be coming with BEL reflex sight as a standard.

Did the Army ever ask for a 5.56x30 sub machine gun (JVPC) ?

Don't know who the man in the suit is but that is the most unsafe way to hold any gun - even a toy. No wonder the police officer looks startled and is trying to grab it from him..

Exactly.. if there was a round in the chamber, it would be alarming! Its a very funny photo though and typical of desi-PR. No interest whatsoever in the product, instead all the dignitaries have to be properly seen..

^^Absolutely. In fact if Mr Suit had any sense and wanted to show off the product he should have pointed it up at the ceiling

No, not publicly, but user trials happening for the weapon for donkey year indicate that the user is on board with the concept and seem to be going along. Once the JVPC/MSMC/Milaap goes into production, the next target should be to build a handgun around the same cartridge like FN dis with FN five-seven. The chinese have done something similar with their QBZ 05 PDW and QBZ 92 Pistol which fire a smaller version of their 5.8 mm round.

This is what happens when you appoint an English Major from Animal husbandry department to take over Defense Department for 3 years before moving on to IMF.

Interesting that corner shot is also present and accounted for. This means that inspite of a lot of clamour of forces being starved if basic weapons, the right weapons for the job are reaching the men.

P'S what is the rectangular device that's mounted on the tripod in the background.
