During last IF, a target was missed and the a/c turned around to take it out.
Was expecting that for TGT 9, but maybe it was taken out and DD arse missed it..

So all IAF short videos are in HD and since DD is SD these videos are clipped. Big problem

We should go to Pakistan and film "fistula-e-soosai" where soosai bombers are shown. In that the target, audience and the weapons are there in the same camera field. No need to get confused about whether to show target, audience or weapon platform

DD camera guys need to rehearse and plan best shots and angles. If one camera misses the other camera should show in replays. Since they love to show mantris and officers right in middle of displays, they could easily just put them in a small window at the bottom rather than take the whole screen at key moments.

Are Modi and Pres OK? I have not seen their faces for 30 seconds due to Su 30 display! Aah relief. Su 30 starts minimum radius turn and some joker's face appears.

Did you see that beautiful cloud formation when Sukhoi was wasting time doing aerobatics?

Beautiful smokeless blue flame. Nearly missed as President was taking a cup of tea. Someone will lose his job for not showing that.

Definitely a Make in India plus hat tip to present GOI.

But what the heck was Frooti, Mazaa and cocktail reference to a MiG-29 formation?

Also Micromax someplace else,

Sponsors?

Mirage 2000 aborted a paveway lgb strike cause of "bad weather" whereas the next mission was flown by a Jaguar and it hit bulls eye.

@Karan : think those names are selected by the squadrons. Recall a DoCoMo and an enfield..

Watching the astra launch live was awesomeness. A ripple fire of it would cause me to enter delerium

The mig 29 starting off proceedings with an unannounced sonic boom was crazy too.. Had turned up the volume.. And a surprise BANG :mrgeen:

Made up for DDs dumarse editing/videography..

I think they are call signs. Soft drinks and very popular in the armed forces because during training ragda in academy if you loose a bet or something you buy your coursemates one. And having little money and hot and sweaty these drinks mean a lot. Maggie too.

But what on earth is micromax ?

Call signs makes complete sense. Because otherwise "cocktail" wouldn't be logical. Its not a company brand.

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful President and Rajasthan Governor. I love looking at their radiant faces. Who needs Tejas when we have such 'luminaries'. And thats why I cheered lustily when the cameras panned to these worthies.

Night ops was shifted to another DD channel.DD had more pressing saas bahu content to air at 7 pm..

The Iron Fist promo referenced Sanjay/dhritrashtra from Mahabharat and today Chanakya and Shivaji were referenced by the IAF for their strategies.

Expecting "seething" secular voices led by Ajai Shukla against overt Hinduization of Air Force.

Though Iron Fist 2016 telecast was better than the IFR - 2016 still it was not upto the mark. I somehow feel Iron Fist 2013 telecast was even better. DD not only needs better HD cameras but also better trained crew and a HD channel. I am starting a #UpgradeDD through my Twitter @kakarat2001, I also request somebody to start a signature campaign to the broadcasting ministry and the PM

Iron Fist 2016 seemed to limelight indigenous products ... at least the announcers were stressing out those facts.
  • DRDO AEW&CS
  • LCA -> multi-role capability (LGB followed by CCM firing)
  • LCH -> Rocket attack
  • Dhruv -> Sarang display
  • Akash SAM (Anyone see the launches? They had a whole battery out there. DD cut out the live feed before that took place)

Looks like the consensus is DRDO needs to a urgent project on creating a HD camera and automated camera man, which focuses on the jets rather than VIP's !

So Igla/OSA/R73/Griffen flopped during Demo. Most probably due to bad weather/dusty condition. Even Hawks had to abort their regular display and choose mundane formation flying.

Astra/Akash Launch...resounding success. LCA/LCH/Dhruv success...success.....success.....success

Can't wait when all we will have/flay is Indian.

Actually they need to focus on the aircraft till it launches or till it is seen coming in and then have a small window on the target.

I think most of the LGB flops were due to cameraman rather than bad weather #UpgradeDD

Why the heck does he cut to the dignitaries whenever the bomb is supposed to land? Did that fellow expect them to jump around screaming in joy? He completely single handedly defeated the purpose of IAF to show deterrence and impact.

Everything is getting sunk due to the good old folks from I&B ministry who are focused on giving pressers to the very gents who curse the current GOI day in and night out.

Live wire is the real exercise , this is just for show , so if it is for show then they could have dropped duds and destroy the targets in sync, by some other means. Why i am saying this , well only the retards by jags have found their mark , the rest developed their own. That's precision targeting without SAM threat in a friendly sky !! When R-73 and igla guy missed those para barrels, justification shoot up immediately , real target being much bigger , then why drop those "smiling barrels" !!!
DD team did good work , cause they like those bums never knew whom to target until the last moment.

See the image clarity of target from 2.5 km, feed from Tejas EO Pod.

What broadcast were you watching ? Except the griffin LGB by the Sukhoi almost all of the bombs found their mark. Rockets too. Heck even the Mi-17 lobbed 2 500 pound bombs which found their mark !

Wrt the R73, i recall last times Iron fist (Vayu Shakti), where a Su30 shot one on a parachuted flare. The mijjile went right next to it. WVR and BVR dont always go aar paar of their targets. At times a detonation in close proximity of the aircraft is also effective and at times can even get a mission kill if not an outright shoot down ..Out of the Pk of missiles, not ALL that are successful hit the A/c necessarily. There was some issue with the OSA and Igla, and the camera work in all the misses leaves much to be desired.

I hope you see the footage again. you will see that barring the few glitches mentioned, everything else was spot on. The Jaguar ,post the M2000 aborted run, hit BULLS Eye btw.
