Where did you get this info? And pakis can claim India killed civilians regardless of who is actually killed right ?

This is a country that refused to accept its dead soldiers.

The retribution will not come from TSP's east. It will be where they are not looking.

Need to consider that they attacked in three directions. India. Iran. And Afghanistan. There has been some level of coordination.

Government and opposition United on this issue, America has basically just said “go ahead do what you want”, the nation is together on this - there will never be a better opportunity for India to teach the Pakis a lesson.

Time for peace talks with Pakistan over, teach them a lesson ..

The covert war by TSP started in 1947 in J&K and has been continuing non-stop, talks or no talks.

SS ji,
Is there a link between Jaish -e-Mohammed & Jaish al-Adl (which claimed responsibility for the terror attack which killed 27 Iranian Border Guards on the same day of Pulwama attack?)

My instinct was that Pakis were demonstrating to the visiting Saudi head their capacity to strike Iran.

I know they operate in Balochistan but is their leadership Ethnically Baloch or Ethnically Punjabi (like Jaish-e-mohammed) ?

Enjoy the napunsak political elites, all the keyboard warriors expected a change in stance. But their napunsak-ta is evident from the statement released from the all party meet.

Should one laugh or cry? #India's political class lacks the courage to name #Pakistan as the perpetrator of cross-border terrorism that has just snuffed out 40 Indian lives.
A long-winded all-party resolution which reflects lack of resolve and courage.

The #US is the only country to call out #Pakistan for #PulwamaAttack . White House has done what #India's political class has abjectly failed to do. Huge gulf separates official GoI response to #Pulwama and Saturday's all-party resolution. Why should world take India seriously?

Meek wording of that resolution means opposition parties irrespective of their statements in public, while behind closed doors did not want GOI to start an all-out conflict. They might have to put too many conditions to GOI and hence a meek resolution.

They fear that an all-out conflict with India coming on top will mean giving elections on platter to Modi ji.

Opposition will soon start singing this to be an inside job and it was Modi ji's fault to annoy Hans and Pakis by unnecessarily bragging about Uri / Doklam. Likes of Sushil kumar Shinde have already twitted about this on day one.

I am not sure what is constitutional position on if a care-taker government can make policy decisions of this kind.

Few months back, Raj Thackrey had commented that BJP may start a small war to gain power. Usual suspects are latching on to such statements to show present GOI in poor light.

If visible retaliation is not seen in few days, such noises will soon get shriller.

MEA statement named Pakistan. The Pakistan High Commissioner was summoned and issued a demarche. Yet all-party meeting names 'Across The Border' as the perpetrator of cross-border terrorism. This is making monkeys of Indians. A cruel joke.

If all parties are not in unison against TSP. How will you expect modi to do wonders. He is already doing the vikas inaguration with veiled references + giving free hand. Political class is the most coward and dumb elites that I have seen post this statement. If they can't talk in unison, how will they even walk! Shattered to see such response. Biggest hypocrites.

One expects MBS to shelve his meet and here your political class is so classy to not name the root of the cause. China will keep blocking. Massa will keep engaging taliban. Russia will keep selling heptrs. India will keep expecting diplomatic victory and get coffins in return gift for this pacifist approach.

You certainly don't expect the current opposition to do better than this. Modi is still PM with majority and has the backing of the majority people of India. That is what matters. Not what the opposition thinks. From political angle if Modi is successful in giving a riposte the opposition knows their goose is cooked for the time being. Surely the malcontents that make up the opposition will not be happy.

I saw this post from a friend in FB. He has reproduced an extract of a eleven year old's letter dated 15th Feb to Modi. He believes that this is proof that next generation will make India a better place. I am reproducing extract below.

"Respected Prime Minister,

Today I write to you regarding a very crucial issue. The pakistan fight has caused many loss of lives. I suggest you to talk to Pakistan prime minister to Unite India and Pakistan (we should become 1 country) so Pakistan can get benefit of Kashmir and their is no scope that Pakistan asks for some other state of India. By doing this we will save many lives of the people of Indian Army. There will be some disadvantages as well but we will have to coorporate.

Please tell me what you think about this suggestion. I will await your reply. Thanks for taking out your precious time to read this.

Yours sincerely,

11 year old citizen of India "

I will post your responses in FB before Modi replies to this letter. BTW I have retained original spelling, which is very good for today's 11 year old.

Yes, conversely if the Modi govt doesn't take action, they will pay a price at the elections. It makes sense for the govt to act, it is in the interest of the nation and also is likely to be well received by voters.

Well this gives away any leverage of unity that was present. Now it will be politicised umpteen times.

Modi gov is in a tricky situation,
If they dont take action they loose and if they take action and fail they loose again and may be that is the game pak with its friends and supporters are playing. Going by this theory pak will be prepared and waiting for retaliation in all forms
Now it is upto the modi and team to find a way out of this

Yes, these are different days. When Indira Gandhi started the Bdesh campaign except the Communists she had the backing of the opposition to take action. Modi will have to do what is right and in the interests of India regardless of what the opposition thinks.

Indus Water Treaty says

"The Government of India and the Government of Pakistan, being equally desirous of attaining the most complete and satisfactory utilisation of the waters of the Indus System of rivers and recognising the need, therefore, of fixing and delimiting, in a spirit of goodwill and friendship, the rights and obligations of each in relation to the other concerning the use of these waters "

There is no "spirit of goodwill and friendship". We should accordingly abrogate this treaty now.

what kind of useless and shameless resolution is that? no mention of pakistan! we all people stand behind our forces, where politicians need to do more than just that. And did bjp sign up this spineless resolution? did all politicians met, had tea biscuits, kebab, tikka and came up with this? this? shame on everyone who signed this. This is nothing more than rubbing salt.

If Modi says he will retaliate means he would , He said he has given free hand to the armed forces.

Dont expect any white paper stating time , date and options .......Chances are these Jihadis from JEM would have left all their HQ and training grounds when they attacked CRPF 2 days back ...... This is a planned event so they have figured it out quite early what they need to do post strike.

Strike can happen from 1 week to 2 months from now depending on the Intel , Target and Options .....The attack on Pakistanis will be on our terms and at the place and time of our choosing keeping element of surprise as far as possible.

I think objective of this move by Pakis and backed by Hans is that they do not want to have current GOI back in power. For Pakis it means continuing its merry days wherein Politicos continue pappi-jhappi and ISI/PA continue 1000 cuts. For Chinis, it is slow rise of India.

How would they want it done? Trigger an attack, prepare for counterattack, when GOI thinks it has taken its revenge / reached objectives, and makes it public to win-over voters, do one more attack - may be after first phase of election is over. It will give opposition field day in blasting current dispensation saying its muscular policy has failed.

Surgical strike was highlighted as success saying look how Pakis have been silenced. Pakis are going to try to show that muscular policy of Modi ji is not successful.

Election process is almost 2-3 months and whatever is planned is not going to last that long. Pakis are going to feign retreat if punishment is severe only to repeat mischief later.

Btw Mamata begum was not ready to include Pakistan's name in resolution (tweet from Timesnow)

Pulwama Attack

Postby Peregrine » 16 Feb 2019 18:38

Pakistan synonym for terrorism, security forces given free hand to punish Pulwama attack perpetrators : PM – PTI

YAVATMAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday slammed Pakistan over the Pulwama terror strike that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel and urged people to have patience and faith in the security forces who have been given a free hand to punish the perpetrators of the attack.

At a public function in Pandharkawada in Yavatmal district, where he launched a number of projects, Modi said Pakistan has become a synonym for terrorism.

"A nation which came into existence after Partition and encourages terror activities, and which is on the verge of bankruptcy, has now become the second name for terror," Modi said.

Asserting the country was in deep pain over what had happened in Pulwama, the prime minister said, "The sacrifice of the CRPF personnel martyred in Pulwama will not go in vain. Perpetrators of the crime will be punished."

"Security forces have been given a free hand to punish the perpetrators of the crime. I appeal to the country to have patience and faith in the security forces. Our forces will decide the place, time and manner in which the perpetrators of this crime will be punished," he said.

Forty CRPF personnel were killed and five injured in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, when a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district.

"All of us can feel the pain of families of the Pulwama martyrs. We understand your anger," Modi said.

At the event, the prime minister also dwelt on his government's development works. He recalled his visit to Dabhadi in Yavatmal district on March 20, 2014, for a 'chai pe charcha' programme.

"We had discussed the issues facing the country and promised to work to address all of them," Modi said, and asked those present at the event whether they were happy with the work and the efforts he was making.

"I have worked sincerely to fulfil the assurances," he said.

Modi said under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, 1.25 crore farmer families will get Rs 6,000 annually in their bank accounts.

"The money will be given in three instalments," he said.

Asserting that people had voted for a strong government four-and-a-half years ago, Modi said, "It is because of your vote that the government could work with clean intentions. If there was a mistake from your end, we would have remained where we were."

"I hope you would strengthen the trust shown in development and I appeal to you to bless your 'pradhan sevak'."

He said the Centre was working towards improving the standard of living of the tribals, and steps like providing medical facilities to tackle the sickle cell disease, development of sports facilities in tribal areas were being taken.

At the beginning of the event, a two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to the Pulwama attack victims. Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Hansraj Ahir, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao were also present.

During the programme, the prime minister inaugurated an Eklavya Model Residential School for tribal students and handed over the keys of houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to some of the beneficiaries.

Modi flagged off the Ajni (Nagpur)-Pune train service through video link and also distributed certificates and cheques under the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) to women Self-Help Groups.

This is my observation

After this Incident, People in twitter cleverly handled nutcase Kashmiris by targeting their Companies instead of ranting on their tweets. Stopped
News papers(TOI,gujarat bhaskar) printing Outrageous content by attacking in initial stages but cant hold leftists for long.

Because of Surgical strikes people this time are not doubting Govt commitment but gruesomeness of attract making people ask for quick action and nearing elections cause of concern for few citizens.

Modi govt is following same format as previously, First Modi went to meet Nawab sharij before taking strong stand just to show world that we tried for peace. Now immediately after this incident,India went to UN and asked to ban azhar masood even after knowing that China will block. Now all options are open for India except nuclear without International tensions.

My only Wish is this time it should be Air strike and release videos of missile hitting targets with big boom  , so that in future once we receive Armed drones we can keep on attacking these lunch pads based on Intel and Pak cant escalate for poor jihadists and will not acknowledge this drone attacks with their shamble economy.

I could love for a CPEC bridge on the J&K portion to be knocked off as a part of payback.

China has to come in for some cost even if indirectly plus will serve as a warning to anyone contemplating future investing in bakistan.

The (sorry wrong source) YAWN has come out with a particularly offensive headline which I will not repeat here, but the gist will become clear below.

Back in 1998, when I decided to learn about the so-called "Kashmir Issue" to counter Pakistani terrorist propaganda, My FIRST STEP was to buy a copy - not of Indian propaganda, or the CIA Factbook, but Sheikh Abdullah's autobiography, "Flames of the Chinar", written by an ambitious but patriotic Kashmiri who chose to be Indian. Which brings me to the point of this:

Kashmiris haven't been throwing stones at OPPRESSORS alone: they throw stones and destroy anything constructive, because they are an ungrateful, undisciplined, spoilt bunch of jerks.

That is the central point of Shiekh Abdullah's well-informed autobiography.

I am more than tired of seeing people in Kerala or Tamil Nadu or Andhra go hungry because of poor development, because all the development money is poured into J&K to coddle these sh1ts.

I don't think stone-throwers should be shot, with either metal or plastic bullets. I think they should be identified using UAVs with hi-res cameras, tracked down, arrested, and sent back with their throwing arms (and a few teeth) broken. Take them to hospital of course and put their arms in slings.
