Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
need official statement from the gov. Silence is killing.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
capture of wing commander Abhinandan seems to be true , quite a few Indian journos w interest in defence posting it.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
Anything with Pakistan at this moment requires his involvement, so nothing out of ordinary has happened besides TSP attempting some tricks to save H&D.

what is happening currently is indeed out of ordinary and needs his presence / guidance to ascertain how things should shape up aheadpankajs wrote:Modi did cut short his scheduled program for an emergency briefing/meeting. Something out the ordinary has occurred that needs his involvement.
By evening it should be clear.

It is expected PAF would attack in J&K and in response we will grind down PAF.
We are going in to offensive, so there will be causalities. Hold your horses. There must be a air battle going on in the skies above POK.
This will go on until the world forces a ceasefire.

Sometimes I so wish there were no Migs anymore in the air force.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
Economic Times - Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his address at a function in Vigyan Bhawan on Wednesday and rushed to attend a meeting to review the security situation arising out of Pakistan's attempt to violate Indian air space.
Modi was replying to the questions from youngsters during the National Youth Festival 2019 when he was handed over a small piece of paper by an official of Prime Minister Office (PMO).
The Prime Minister immediately stopped and walked toward the panelist where Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore was also present.
The PM waived at the audience and immediately left the dais and rushed to his office.

we should get a copy of our SU-30 gun camera to get the social media blitzkrieg of the Pakis.

Mig-21 seems to have been shot down in air-to-air engagement. There are shrapnel punctures on tail of downed aircraft.
Airspace declared closed for 3 months.

Very advanced US fighters were lost in GW1, Kosovo, then Russia lost jets in Syria. Prayers for all soldiers, but let's not get dejected.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
I am sure that India would have planned for escalation. They have to decide if what has happened till now is escalation and if so what would be the next phase of action.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
Is this a confirm news that PAF F-16 has been shot by IAF ?
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
2 flights are about to land in chandigarh and a lone spicejet atr flying dehradun to delhi. other than that entire airspace N and W of delhi is clear. dozens of a/c seem to be in landing pattern @ delhi perhaps diverted

Opposition parties are meeting in Delhi. Entire Gathbandan there.

Conflicting reports, MKI shot it down, shot down by ground fire, it was a case of fratricide. Nothing is official yet.Austin wrote:Is this a confirm news that PAF F-16 has been shot by IAF ?

Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
I would think in times like this the family may have already been contacted by relevant IAF/GOI officials and sequestered away. Most Armed forces folks are aware of such an eventuality and there surely is a protocol for such news.rajithn wrote:Appalling that Manu Pubby and Abhijit Iyer Mitra are going ahead and confirming on SM that this news is true. Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
I think we will get a briefing when there is a plan, rather once the existing plan has been refined to fit the circumstances.
The onus to escalate is on India now and Pakistan has made it clear they are done - so there is no burning urgency for the Government to be too hasty. Let them take their time and get it right.
This will take a few hours, maybe even days.
Getting information out to the public is maybe #100 on their list of things to do. Making sure India comes out on top of this Militarily & Diplomatically is #1.
Try to be patient and have faith in the professionalism of the Armed forces and the judgement of the political leaders.

a kind of joint parliamentary session and statement may happen today evening....if govt puts forth some proposal to go "all in and double down"

Oh God. Still hoping the news of captured pilot is fake.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
And guys in war there is loss and win, think rationally if the objectives are met. Even in 71 war we had casualties but TSP was split.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
IF the news of capture is correct .. then the onus is with India and it will be a tough decision.khan wrote:I think we will get a briefing when there is a plan, rather once the existing plan has been refined to fit the circumstances.

BUT for that matter, it would have been easy for GOI to pull back as well as escalate. Either ways it would have worked.

Folks, do NOT share random pics and videos posted by Pakis. They’re using old pics to create hysteria. Unlike Pakis, Indian govt doesn’t disown its soldiers. So wait for official communication from the govt.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
Shiv Aroor's twitter now claims it is confirmed and government statement will be made soon. But still best to wait for govt to clarify.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
Pakis sending multiple signals they want to de-escalate. They appear desperate. Govt should go all in and double down. That will be one devastating blow to their economy.Singha wrote:a kind of joint parliamentary session and statement may happen today evening....if govt puts forth some proposal to go "all in and double down"

I am worried our leaders might lose resolve and push for deescalation. We owe it to the piots lost to have clear objectives and meet them before deescalation.
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
People, IAF is an offensive force, will fight in POK. In the fight, if the pilot bails out, where do you think he will land?
Or you prefer we fight in J&K?
So hold firm.

Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
Gurus, since there is a possibility of MANPADS being employed to bring down the Mi helo, is it possible that the trainer was also hit while within Indian airspace by local jihadis, and the pilot captured by locals?
Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
This having meeting of all political parties is getting ridiculous. There have been 2 already. If Pakistan declares objectives met due to this delay, what is the use in starting all this. Once baloon hits the fan, it should all be by party in power who shall decide.

Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps
a lot depends on the gatbandhan, will they stand behind the govt as one or criticize and play the whole divided house/indians speak in many voices meme? the trajectory of our country will depend on this to some extent.Trikaal wrote:I am worried our leaders might lose resolve and push for deescalation. when 911 happened, the dems and repubs put aside their fights and stood with president bush.
