Captured pilot is a PoW, and war hero. He went after Porki jets, and was shot down during ensuing fight.

We should feel proud, and worried. But sense here is more or less like counting beans.

We are in a long haul now, this is not a 2 hour movie.

Guys, can you please wait for the fog to clear instead of jumping up and down saying why this and why that?

This is what happens in a conflict.

Modi cannot afford to deescalate now. If Mig-21 has been shot down, which unfortunately seems to be true, then GoI will have to unleash a counter punch. Sparks are certainly going to fly. Hope all our warriors get the job done and return safely, as some of them are certainly going to get into harms way.

External Affairs briefing at 3.15. Capture of Indian pilot is almost sure now. Let wait another half hour to see how things go now from here.
MEA being roped in means we are going diplomatic for now ?

good luck to all including the GOI. by tonight we might see masses of A2G a/c going up. and probably TSPian armour thrusts on sialkot and bahawalpur where they have been building up armour...as a pre-emptive dislocative measure.

a ruthless punishing air campaign against TSP military mobile and static assets incl their industries is what we need.

model it on the patented chinese "teach a lesson" thing.

a economy 9X smaller than ours cannot be allowed to play constant havoc.

air units need 6-12 hrs to come into war footing and start ops.

IA/IAF have not claimed anything. It's hopeful speculation.

But somehow Porkies always manage to crash back in their land, leaving no way to prove an incident.

We will chicken out. All the r@ndi rudaalis will try to raise clouds of confusion using Abhinanandan's photo to demand GOI to de-escalate and go back to chai biskoot.

That GOI should ignore and let IAF a free hand.

Knowing Modi/Amit Shah duo, they will rather go broke than de-escalate, they are not the type who take prisoners.

I thought forces were given free hand that means they can at least venture into PoK.

Anyone knows how are the wind patterns around LoC ?

Chill folks. The GOI debriefing is less than 30 minutes away. And if our pilot was shot down, did we expect battle to be without pain? We can’t expect live and accurate news from the front lines. Let’s follow the fine example set by the government today. Maintain silence, gather facts, make informed decisions once we know what is fact and what is mere Pakistani propaganda.

Fizzle-ya should be given a clear warning. Harm the pilot and we will shove the military boots so far up their musharraf, the next 7 generations will be born retarded. Pubes must be begging for a face saver. Time to bomb some paki head honchos properties and remind them who is their daddy.

Yep. But let's be understanding of the fact that war always have casualties.

If TSP had upper hand they won't be asking for de-escalation ? They have got some unexpected response from IAF, no diplomatic support and beggar economy. They cannot afford to keep it going.

Pakistan will have to return any pilots in their custody. They can't hold them. So, I am not particularly worried on that score.

This is a war that is being/is going to be fought in the media as well as the physical sphere. There will be casualties, and there will be POWs, and there will be pressure brought to bear on GOI through these means. We should do all we can to keep calm and have faith in our leadership.

We were itching to put the Pakis in their place, now we may well have that chance.

Now, until he is repatriated we obviously can't take any air action. A sad situation.
Did we underestimated paf or our defences were down?

IAF did not attack Pak in Kargil conflict, yet both of our pilots bailed in PoK.

we don't fight PAF in our territory.

The pilots are alive will be fine. That matters. POW.

Time to grind PAF in to dust.

Guys get real.
What will be India's negotiation position? This is a war. The upper hand is had with either a) captured land or b) captured PoW
Economic and other sanctions dont have the PR or visibility.

IA 's turn now.

I am sure the planning was made to prevent such a situation but in heat of battle it will be impossible to make hotheads stick to plan. And thus such things happen.

We need to start using our cruise missiles and take out large numbers of PAF fighters. Are our IAF Garud forces capable of rescuing our pilot? I do not trust these pakis one iota.

If an Indian pilot has been captured with the F-16 crashing in Pak, it is a propaganda victory for the Pakis, we would need to do something to hit back lure them.
