Thank Sri Rama our pilot is back on Indian soil, proud as an undefeated lion!

I had posted earlier about the strategic gambit by PakMil, the simultaneous suicide attacks in Pulwama and on Iran, in the new strategic context of US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Today there is news that there is a large mass casualty attack on a US Base, Shorab in Helmand province, by the Taliban.

www.voanews.com/a/taliban-attack-shorab-afghan-military-base/4809279.html

Just as Indian polity has put in motion its strategy of compellance and deterrence, PakMil is trying out its own strategy of using Suicide attacks by Jihadis to inflict large numbers of casualties, while deterring conventional response from any of its adversaries by using its nuclear weapons and the chaotic aftermath that will certainly result in Pakistan after a full spectrum conflict.

I am afraid, that the moment of maximum danger has arrived and will continue for the next several months. As I ask myself, why Pulwama, IRGC and now the large attack in Helmand, the following enemy distinct strategic goals coalesce from the fog of war.

    1. Pakistan needs to motivate the Sunni Jihadis so a steady supply of canon fodder can be generated. These, near simultaneous, attacks in Iran, India and Afghanistan are the 'spectaculars' that will be used by PakMil to recruit a flood of jihadis, fund this flood using zakat/donations etc., and train this flood of human detritus in the direction of one enemy or the other, in turns.

    2. The first goal appears to be the reconquest of Afghanistan or at least parts of Afghanistan. After Afghanistan is reconquered, the train of Jihadis will be turned lose at India in Kashmir and beyond. The large nuclear umbrella built up using the fastest expansion in fissile materials in the entire world will be used to deter the world and India.

    3. The second goal is to influence the 2019 elections in India, by portraying all of the actions by Modi govt. as ineffectual to deter this wave of Pakistan violence. If I read their intent correctly, we should expect large, mass casualty acts of terror during the election cycle, some time during the month+ long election cycle with a care taker govt. in power.

By making sure that the next govt. is weak and ineffectual, Indian strategic responses can be reduced in scope, when the Jihadi train is fully directed at India some time in 2020 or 2021.

    4. Another option that can be utilized by PakMil is to trigger religious riots in India thereby delegitimizing any govt. that comes to power.

The bottomline is, the withdrawal of the US from the region has made it look to PakMil like a strategic vacuum has appeared in the wider subcontinent and PakMil has made the first move to fill this vacuum with Jihadis. If this strategy is not nipped in the bud, we will have to soon wade through a river of Indian blood that will make the recent events look like a cakewalk.

I pray and hope that the Indian leadership has seen through this strategy and is willing to impose an unsustainable cost on the Pakis.

We should not put our hopes on an economic squeeze resulting from escalated tensions alone achieving this. When the Pakis say, they are willing to eat grass to wage a 1000 year war on us, we should take them at their word. They have proven this by achieving the dubious distinction of having the largest Infant Mortality Rate in the whole world, by being the last country in the world to have polio etc. and still starting off this latest strategic gambit in Pulwama, Iran & Afghanistan! If they were not willing to eat grass, or at least let most of their population eat grass while a few eat Nihari, they would not have started this thing!

So what will work? What can India, the US, Afghanistan and Iran do to blunt this strategic offensive?

    1. A severe punishment that destroys their offensive & defensive capabilities while still remaining below the nuclear threshold will kick open the door to Operation Balakot 2, 3, 4, .. N. These repeated kicks to H&D will eventually train enough Pakis to behave like 'Insaan ke bacchey'.

    2. Al Quds, and NDS can teach the Pakis that two can play at their game.

    3. India needs an emergency purchase of armament that enables an offensive defense. S400 and Rafale are already in the pipeline, these should be expedited through emergency purchases. We should bite our pride and try to get help from the United States to deploy an ABM shield that can blunt any ballistic missile attacks on Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore.

    4. Finally, and this one is up to the rest of us, do not increase polarization in society, because Pakistan is going to try its best to use this fault-line. The worst thing for India would be an internal communal conflagration that distracts our polity from defeating an external enemy. Dont believe or forward whatsapp messages, these will be carefully crafted to appeal to narrow identities and base emotions.

Keep calm, trust in Modi, and carry on.

The government of Pakistan has now deleted that heavily-edited video of Abhinandan from their official Twitter account. Pakistani TV channels are also not airing it now.

This is another pakiness of gutter low levels.

In the age of SM platforms like whatsapp/telegram /youtube etc thet very much know that to spread those videos they just need it to be online for 30 minutes only. By that time it spreads like wildfire in various groups and personal chats. Once target is achieved, they can pretend good boy and say sorry and delete it from official handles.

They did same thing with his interrogation videos also.

Our casualties are salaried professionals while theirs are not. So a thousand cuts has worked. They had a long term vision and they executed.

Engaging in a dog fight, POW exchanges, Conventional hostilities elevates their status as equals. A single war will never be enough to fix things, its just a tool.

There is a way to cause pain to 200 million in a "humane" way.

Squeeze their fuel, raise cost of doing business drive inflation etc. A sustained non-overt intermittent siege diven by intermittent unpredictable skirmishes lasting decades. 1000 cuts -> 100,000 suffocations.

Just got to be that unpredictable neurotic neighbour.

Someone was asking about economic cost to Pakistan. Here's a good summary of it -
https://twitter.com/_NAN_DINI/status/1101482126833274880

Here is what our media will not tell us about the situation in Pakistan… In the flurry of war/no-war, what many forget is that wars now are fought not just by men wearing boots carrying guns, or airforce/naval engagement, but even more so by economic means and weapons.

The current status of the Indo-Pak engagement needs to be seen from that POV. The fake Indian currency (FICN) business is almost totally wiped out. The meat laundries have been check-mated. The Pak Rupee is at an all time low and sinking further.

Right now in Pakistan there’s a shortage of all forms of foreign & domestic transport. The airspace closure over Pakistan impacts not just international East-West traffic, which routes via UAE options, but more so Pakistan's own domestic and international air travel, pax & cargo

thats come to a halt as also the income from flights over Pak Airspace. Domestic movements by train are severely impaired because Pakistan Railways, what's left of it, depends almost totally on diesel for locomotives.

Road transport is much costlier and the Afghan trade which subsidised a lot of their livelihoods, has moved to via Iran or over Central Asia. Another point to note is that Karachi is the only effective seaport for Pakistan, and oil imports, especially aviation fuel and clean

products, have come to a grinding halt as ships and shipping companies stay away, with huge insurance markups. Port of Karachi is almost blocked. Tankers are not reaching with oil.

https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ports/19578/Pakistan_port:GWADAR

Fuel for their air force is down to 4 days. People are upset and trade is almost halted. Prices have shot up. Pressure from their own people on their own government is huge.

http://kpt.gov.pk/pages/default.aspx?id=22

Pakistani airports & seaports are shut whilst not a single Indian airport or seaport is even impacted. Instead of NO WAR, this is the time for India to keep rattling sabres. Pakistan is totally SHUT DOWN. It’s economy is FROZEN.

This then is the time to continue applying economic & diplomatic pressure backed up by not just IAF, but also Indian Navy, whose presence in the Arabian Sea is formidable, to say the least, and whose ports on both coasts as well as Andamans are simply not affected.

So it is up to the Pakistani people to appeal to their own elected representatives as well as their military to stop these terrorist movements from Pakistani soil. Or, as Bhutto famously said, be prepared to eat grass.

Keep the war mongering going without actually invading Pak. Once they decide to open their airspace, come up with a threat that we will be bombing Mudrike and mobilize IAF flying towards PAK and then come back. Meanwhile pound them hard on LC.

Keep them on edge. Make them waste their resources. They cannot attack us hoping to stop it. If they do, they fell in our trap. They will be just watching us threatening them..

Do this till they hand over the two characters and their cronies.

Sir, here is the fact check for you. Also, please take your prize for being a genuine 100% argumentative Indian. :-)
The "prize" is to be 100% right, NOT a win against an enemy. :-)

https://tribune.com.pk/story/1639445/3- ... ks-unicef/

A UNICEF report on child mortality revealed Pakistan to have the worst new-born mortality rate.
Released on Tuesday, the report said babies born in the world’s poorest countries, most of them in Africa, still face ‘alarming’ risks of death that can be 50 times as high as those in the richest countries.

The differences are stark. A baby born in Pakistan — the country with the worst newborn mortality rate — faced a one in 22 chance of death, while a newborn in Japan had only a one in 1,111 risk of dying, the report said.

We cannot dismantle the deep state. PA is not an alien entity. It is normal citizens of Pak, who decide to officially take panga with us.

Stop worrying about democracy in Pak. Just impose cost on PA. They will keep quiet.

No, you're still missing the point here......

It is against the Geneva Conventions to "parade or display" a "POW". Putting pictures and video of the captured IAF pilot on the air or on the internet; is furthering this "breach" of these same Geneva Conventions.

And what do we call, "breaches of the Geneva Conventions"?

These are "WAR CRIMES".

It is ***OUTRAGEOUS*** to see Indian media outlets, furthering and participating in this veritable ***WAR CRIME*** (not to mention, it also takes the heat off of the TSP for doing same).

I recall an incident early during the recent war in Afghanistan, where an American F16 pilot dropped a big bomb on what he thought was a fire fight down below at night, but was actually a company of Canadian soldiers doing live fire exercises. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarnak_Farm_incident For a long time, we didn't even know the name of the pilot, ostensibly because of "Operational Security", as if some Canadian is going to go down to the states to settle scores over this accident (stupid as it was; even though he was hopped-up on "Go Pills" as per USAF SOP). Eventually the Canadian public learned the pilot's name, during the court martial process.

By comparison, publicizing the family of the captured pilot, brazenly disregards any pretense of "operational security". I feel the Indian Media has made this heroic pilot's family a potential target. This kind of thing cannot be allowed to happen. It's extending a potential weak point. I don't want to get graphic here; but just consider what it would mean for morale, if the "home front" is threatened. Some new laws must be passed and strictly enforced, otherwise the Indian Media will "consume" it's heroes in a rush to get ratings, all else be dammed.

I doubt American pilots who've been dropping bombs on terrorists, publicize their wives and fathers and mothers and children on TV -- they're legitimately worried about the ji-hard-ons in our midst. There's no need to give them something personal of ours, to lust over.

IMO BRF should get rid of its IAF officer database.

I can think of no earthly reason why it needs to be there. a/c details fine, pilots and service numbers why?

whoever owns it need to address it asap. i was not even aware it existed until the mig21 incident.
