Singha, arid it may be, but doesnt Balochistan hold a huge chunk of Pakistan's natural, mineral reserves?
Two birds, with one stone.

So mineral extraction can be a viable means of revenue for them.

I think high time we got off the moral H&D high-horse and supported all indigenous movements in our neighbouring country. What is sauce for the goose..

Will Pak really risk Pakjab in all-out-nuclear war? I doubt it. Will its rich, fat, generals ever give up their cushy lives and their huge plots and villas and padded bank accounts just because some states got independence while Pakjab remains as is. Hardly.. time to call their bluff me thinks.

Excellent piece by Sushant Sareen. A must read!

Regarding Modi's benchmark setting for future potential, non-BJP government, I have my doubts. Obviously, people will expect air-strikes & the like, as a response to major terror attacks. But ISI-controlled Congress can deflate the mood inch-by-inch

1) In collusion with Pakistan, conduct mock-strikes
2) Play up the casualties & claim that this was bigger/better than SS1 or SS2. The Army won't lie, but the Govt will
3) Pakistan will play its part by mock-sabre-rattling
4) To de-escalate, talks will re-open, MFN reinstated, Indus dam building stopped & security cover provided again to the Geelanis
5) Media will quickly move on to the next gau-rakshak case
6) Shekar Gupta will publish a scoop on how India-Pakistan came close to a nuclear war in 2019. How U.S, Imran & Rahul back-channel stopped it. How, under Congress, the threat of a nuclear exchange has reduced

...... and so on.

The Indian public, with its notorious long-term memory loss, will move on.

They used to be 'secular' in a way and were tribals for hire for the highest bidder. Enter the Soviets in the 80's and the Maulana, who was until yesterday at the bottom of the food chain, is now chief Khan in command. Thousands are indoctrinated in Quetta, they conveniently move between Afg/Pak with impunity as long as they don't threaten to come near Poonjab/Karachi (post TTP clampdown). Remember Dimmi's batting for the 'good taliban' in his election rallies. Ghani's days in Kabul are numbered, a pro-hind govt is the worst fear of the ISI garnails, enter the threat to Unkil of pulling the taliban out of talks in Doha.

these same khyber pakthtoonwa tribal lashkars were used to put down the shia revolt in gilgit of 1988 by letting them kill, loot, rape for a few days by the PA.

they are not really anyone's friends.

the ussr had nothing but trouble in that region on the afghan side. same for british staging out of peshawar.

1. The term "Taliban" means "students" AFAIK. So they are a Paki adaptation of the Red Guards of PRC, brainwashed with toxic ***am instead of Mao's Red Book.
2. As explained above, the "tribals" have always been Pakistan Army's Fighting Arm, as opposed to the uniformed Downhill Racers. More formal name in recent times: Pakistan Army of Islam
3. They are the "Irregulars" used to invade and traumatize Kashmiris in 1948. And Gilgit-Baltistan in 1980s, led by Musharraf when he was a Jarnail under Zia, with Osama Bin Laden as head of the Tribals: it was genocide against the Shias of "Northern Areas" (source: the late B.Raman's article on Musharraf circa 2000).
4. Post 1979, they got HUGE funding from Unkil to train and arm and go into Afghanistan. Peshawar ISI safe house was the jumping point, where they kept a list of those who went into A'stan, many never to return. This Root Directory of a PC where this list was kept, is what is called "Al Qaeda". Its main function was to tell relatives where and when their munna was last heard from b4 the Soviets turned him to fertilizer. The PC was captured by Unkil forces from somewhere between Peshawar and Kabul - and was the major revelation to Unkil/ Culinary Institute of Africa.
5. As B.Raman explained back then, over 80 percent of the Officers of the "Afghan Taliban" were Pakistani regular Army deputed there.
Now it may be 99%.

6. Post Soviet departure (1992) Pakistan desperately hoped that they could bring the full Pakistan Army of Islam to Kashmir again. I remember blunt threats/hopes of Pakis that this would happen, and things looked very grim by 1996. But the truth appears to be that Osama Bin Laden told them not to mess with India, because India is one place where Muslims were treated very well indeed. India could wait until Europe and America and Australia and Africa were fully "Green". BIG disappointment for Pakis.

7. By 1998 Bin Laden was going full blast with his annual Murdike Conference, culminating in his Call to Muslims to Kill Americans.

8. Then Gen. Mush had his sidekick Gen. Mohammed ??? - the one who got the Legend of Honor from the War College near DupleeCity - appointed chief of the Pakistan Army Of Islam. And they tried to get Revenge for the humiliation that Musharraf had suffered at Siachen in the Zia days. The story is that Mush invited Zia to personally witness a great operation in Siachen where Mush was going to to throw out the Yindoos. Zia came, Operation started, and ended in utter defeat and disaster. Siachen was gone.

9. And that is what led to the Kargil caper: They put the Northern Flight Infantry along with the Pak Army Of Islam, up on the icy posts in winter. The PAI (terrorists) are the ones who tortured Lt. Saurabh Kalia's entire patrol to death. And shot Squadron Leader Ahuja to death. Among other things.

And then... Pakistan did to themselves what India would not do. Afghanistan.

I don't think Pashtuns in Pakhtoonistan have any particular love for these: they are Paki mercenaries with sh1t between their ears. Toxic. Back in 2002, they had twin "victories" - after rushing up the Khyber Pass in anything they could commandeer/buy (quite a procession of highly decorated trucks). The Mullahs (I forget the name) got ppl to contribute jewelry, goats, anything, to buy weapons and fund the expedition to "Kill Americans" who were expected to be fool enough then to land B.O.G. in Afghanistan after 9/11.

The first "victory" was at the Shomali Plain. A packed defensive line of Pakiban faced the Afghan Norther Alliance forces, until the USAF F-16s and B-52s came and delivered "weapons aid" as a magic "carpet" by the millions of tons, for a few days non-stop. Estimate is around 80,000 Pakis buried in bits and pieces there, some survivors came out totally shell-shocked with hearing lost and severe concussion if they still had all limbs, etc

The second was at Mazar-e-Sharif, when General Dostum's Northern Alliance swept south across the Shomali Plain, to avenge the earlier massacres of Shias at M-e-S. Several tens of thousands perished there. The NA did take prisoners - around 20,000. They put them in Container trucks, and sent a train of those deep into the desert. As they screamed for air, the NA used machine guns to ventilate holes in the locked containers.

All 20,000 plus are believed to have died in those containers. Pakis are still hoping to get a War Crimes conviction against Dostum, trouble is that most of the world considers him a hero for doing pest-e-sha'eed effectively.

And then they came back - the survivors, looking like the Light Brigade post-cannon fire. But not as victors but as disgraced losers. And then came the Welcome Home. Through the Khyber and Bolan passes they were set upon by the friendly folks who live there, in keeping with long tradition. Robbed down to any underwear if they had any. Survivors probably walked naked down the Khyber.

So that last part tells you how much the Pastuns love the Pakis once the Pakis' heavy weaponry advantage is removed.
I think the endgame for Pakistan will involve a final act by

that is 653745373900 liters of water = 653 billion liters of water.

as a comparison, the non-monsoonal daily flow of the godavari is 3505625 liters/second (123800 cu ft/sec).

so 186484 seconds = 51 hours flow of the godavari....

it is not explained if this flow was the daily discharge into TSP ... if so its a significant number and kind of tallies that 3 rivers in total would be about 2x more than the lean season godavari......

Correct. I still cannot believe that the twerps at the Army War College near DupleeCity (a) awarded him the Legend Of Honor and (b) allowed him to return from the US w/o an extended stopover in Guano Bay.

Posting some good outcomes from Balakot operation and airstrikes :

Porki MFN status removed - Economic
Indian private citizens voluntarily decided agains exporting goods to Pakistan - Economic
There is no love for candle Kisers (even evanjihadis like S Azmi stayed away reluctantly from any open support)/aman ka tamasha and yindu porki bhai -bhai (twins separated birth) that narrative is dead - Socio
Kasmiris realize there will be backlash against them from mainland for any overt support to jihadis, they can no longer mint money and spit on the hands that feed them -Socio
Article 35A will be gone (I predict after elections ) - Strategic
New and urgent purchase of military pending big ticket items (including more Rafale) - Military
Chinkis got a message that they can no longer bet on their manna - Strategic
Morale build up in forces that country have their back and there will be free hand from political leadership - Military
Saudi duplicity is open in public - Strategic
Iran is closer to India than ever - Strategic
There will be no more acquisition of teens (16 or 18) tin cans in IAF - Military/strategic
Behind the scene help from Israel, Russia and France - Strategic
There will be no holding back India from responding from world community on next attack on Indian soil - strategic
Pakistan's lack of strategic depth is exposed once again and will be utilized in future conflicts - military

Bad Things :

This seems to be operation to test Indian response on increasing jee had against India to next level using afghans, there will be more such attacks
World community (read massa and chinkis) will still provide them material and money to fight another day
Chinkis (could be massa too) shared real time intelligence on planned attack on porkis to compensate for latters lack of technical abilities
Iranians openly did not take sides with India or support Indian operations
Turkish and Jordanians support to porkistan
Still we do not have multiple tools to perform complex surgeries
Indus water treaty is still respected we need to stop the flow of water, done with the sh@t

>>After all, the goal is action, not outrage, and most often, social media is a channel for outrage, not action.

Someone said this in one of the pages of this thread. However, this is a misperception. Social media is not just a channel for outrage, it is a powerful mechanism for influence. You can change minds if you keep at it with sane, but witty and even sarcastic posts, that do not go too far into the extreme. How can you tell? You cannot really, so stick close to the centre of right and just keep at it, day after day. Even one or two original tweets, retweets with comment, or replies will do. But keep at it - at least for the next 70 days. Non stop.

Pick a channel of your choice - Twitter/Facebook/Whatsapp/Telegram/Instagram - or two if you can handle it and have time, and just keep at it. If you are creatively capable, even better.

In pakhtoon circles east of durand, 'pak pasand' pakhtoons are known as 'gul khans'. It seems meaning is someone who will sell their soul for a few shekels.

It is also a nickname amongst locals for 'good taliban' who assist pak fauj.

many afghan taliban work for ISI only because the later keep their families and loved ones as hostage in pakistan. especially true for the mid ranks and lower, who are loathe to bomb their countrymen only because the pakis want it.

Two Pakistani drones cross over Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar, unexploded bomb dropped in village

Not sure how reliable this portal is, and if the drones dropped a bomb, or it was simply an unexploded mortar bomb.

In any case, Pakistan's next move will be a "spectacular", but something that doesnt cause as many deaths as in Pulwama. Infrastructure can be a target, or an army/security camp - but an attack that causes low double digit/high single digit fatalities. The goal will be to dominate a few media cycles, so the elections can be influenced.

HaHaHaHa.. :rotfl:

Old T55 or Chinese Type 59 types. This was the same type that Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri aka Sunny Deol ripped apart with his bare hands and dashed them against his hairy chest. :-P Paki soldiers were seen running around like lice trying to hide. Jacki Shroff swooped down in his Hunter and picked them off one by one.

We should seriously look at removing PAK embassy from India. A lot of funds to terrorists seems to originate from there. It would do its bit in taking out a piece of the terror logistics.
