vsunder wrote:Brig. Raychaudhuri came from a distinguished family. His cousin was the distinguished astrophysicist Amal Raychaudhuri whose work is fundamental in the Hawking-Penrose theory of singularity formulation in Cosmology. I once had exchanged emails with Brigadier sahib about his distinguished cousin who had just passed away in 2005. In his posts he was thoughtful, insightful and treated everyone with courtesy and respect, a true professional. May his tribe increase.

Also his uncle was the eminent historian Hemachandra RayChaudhri.

RayC brought the hurt of Bengal at Partition and neglect to forum attention.

I remember RayC as an admin on this forum. He held on to his principles against much opposition and fought like a true soldier. He is sorely missed. Through his stories and service his memory lives on!

Thank you Sir for your service to the motherland! RayC's anecdotes and experiences always made for gripping reading.

Could someone who knew him well (Yusuf, or others) prepare a bio for all to remember RayC by? This may be of service to his family too.

I Only knew him as RayC , a member of BRF. Read some of his posts. Regarded well, here. May you attain Moksa, Saar, release from the Cycle of Birth and death. If you have to come back, come to Bharatvarsha as its illustrious son that you were in this life.
