User trials of Akash and Nag Missiles next year
[The Hindu, 21 August 2003]
Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister Dr V K Aatre said today the user trials of Akash and Nag missiles would begin next year. "Akash, we have not yet given for user trials..it will be early part of next year," Aatre said. He said the user trials of the anti-tank missile Nag would be conducted by the middle of next year. "We are not going in for user trials unless we have continuous success..We have had four trials successfully, there are four more flights, if all of those are successful, we will go for user trials," Aatre said on the surface-to-air Akash missile.
