Yes, but, they should not show their face. Also, the equipment.

I had some pics. But, I realized that I should destroy it. You know, even it even puts the PRO's job in danger. Its like killing our golden goose. They are so torn with us as guest and his bosses. They cannot yell on us. We need to understand them.

Its best to take their permission at the same time watch their body language.

This ( Link ) is the riskiest photo I clicked. I was standing on INS Beas inside the Naval harbour and took it. If you note carefully, on the bottom sides of the ship, i have masked it and then I sent it for approval.

Strange, why is it masked? if its a "see-crate" just blink an eye

Was this picture taken in a dry dock? If so, then you might be hiding its hull mounted sonar (if any).

I cannot divulge location where I was standing.

I just wanted to show a A/C being refurbished. It left for Cochin after wards.

STUNNING PIX: Indian Army trains in icy Alaska - Link

Indian Army personnel are taking part in a joint military exercise with their American counterparts involving airborne specialist operations in sub-zero temperatures in Alaska.

The fortnight-long exercise, which began on November 1, has 200 Indian infantrymen carrying out joint operations training, Yudh Abhyas (War Drill), at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richarson with airborne forces of the US Army.

The green beret and maroon beret have different lineages and used differently in different countries.

In light of this, following are the US units -

5. US personnel and units that undertook British Commando course were awarded Green Berets on qualification. When SFG were formed, they wanted to continue the tradition. In 1961, JFK authorized the green beret for special forces.

6. Rangers have a different lineage and wear black berets.

All these units fold under US Army Special Operations Command.

Along with USAF, USN and USMC units, they fold under US Special Operations Command

In India, Megh Singh was from Brigade of Guards, and the first commando unit was to be raised under the Brigade of Guards. However, since parachute training was a part of the curriculum, the commando battalions were raised under the Parachute Regiment. Thus 9 & 10 Para Commando follow the lineage of the Parachute Regiment and use the maroon beret. Had they continued in the Brigade of Guards, they might have worn olive green berets with red and yellow plumes.

Do note that –

The reason is older than that. The Army of the UK came into being following the Act of the Union that merged the Scotland and England into the United Kingdom, which among other things resulted in the merger of the Scottish and English Armies. The English Army before that was maintained by Parliamentary approval, following the Bill of Rights of the late 17th century. Although regiments have the royal title before their names, most of them have not been raised by the Crown, and have rather been placed by sundry colonels and peers at the service of the Crown.

historically, armies in britian were mostly feudal militias who would band together to support the king if their lords deemed it appropriate. the king therefore had to spend a lot of time and money to ensure that the various nobles were kept on-side. given that some nobles were of french/norman descent and others of saxon descent and the former had interests in france as well as england, it made for a complex political landscape that the king had to manage - rarely sure that he had enough support or power to do what he wanted. Only into the time of henry VIII do we see monarch having greater power than the barons

i believe that oliver cromwell's "new model army" first broke this feudal-militia model to create a semi-professional force of citizen volunteers to fight for parliament against the monarchy

because in wartime they are expected to operate behind enemy lines. they have also operated as an undercover force in kashmir.
