The honour of Islam lies in insulting kufr and kafirs. One who respects the kafirs dishonours the Muslims… The real purpose of levying jiziya on them is to humiliate them to such an extent that they may not be able to dress well and to live in grandeur. They should constantly remain terrified and trembling. It is intended to hold them under contempt and to uphold the honour and might of Islam.

Cow-sacrifice in India is the noblest of Islamic practices. The kafirs may probably agree to pay jiziya but they shall never concede to cow-sacrifice.

Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi (One of the greatest Sufi Saint)

You are right, it is not in the book but as Sufi Saheb explains what is the fun or worth being Muslim if you can't insult Kafirs.
I know the book. Its not the same to offer other animals. The Sufi's advice is misplaced. So lla those offering other than goat will go to Jahnum.

( But Onlee Paki seems to be claiming so)
UN Says Kashmir Remains On UNSC’s Agenda
http://www.thepakistaninewspaper.com/ne ... p?id=18380
In his statement, the 15-member Council's President for the current month, British Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant, while presenting the Annual Report to the 192-member assembly, did not mention the Kashmir dispute in the context of unresolved long-running situations, despite the fact decades-old issue is included in the Annual Report. "We understand this was an inadvertent omission, as Jammu and Kashmir is one of the oldest disputes on agenda of the Security Council," Ambassador Sial remarked.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's UN Ambassador Abdullah Hussain Haroon, who is on a visit to Pakistan, said there was no question of the Kashmir issue being dropped from the Council's agenda. "The Security Council Report in its annexures is explicit," he said in a statement.
"The President of the Security Council, the Permanent Representative of the UK, is amply clear on the subject and is cognizant of the matter. I would request all concerned not to speculate unnecessarily upon the subject

Holbrooke dismisses chances of Musharraf comeback
“He has about as much chance of coming back to power as (former Soviet) President (Mikhail) Gorbachev,” Richard Holbrooke, the Obama administration’s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, told a gathering of US diplomats and security experts.
This makes clear that there is no Obama administration's backing for Gola's ambition of coming back to TSP.

External assistance supports Pakistan's B3 rating and stable outlook: Moody's
http://www.thepakistaninewspaper.com/ne ... p?id=18378
( 3.5 Lovers still have soft corner for old Hoe)
SINGAPORE - 16th November 2010
Moody’s Investors Service has published its 2010 sovereign report on Pakistan, which provides a methodological assessment of the country’s B3 foreign-and local-currency issuer rating and stable outlook.
The main considerations for the rating rationale are:
1. Pakistan’s modest, but, low-income and savings-constrained economy is buffeted by large supply-side shocks;
2. Weakening governance and rising internal violence has limited policy effectiveness;
3. Tax collection is inadequate and foreign investment is decelerating;
4. Volatile politics and prolonged economic underperformance pose considerable event risk; however, external financial assistance coupled with buoyant remittances has bolstered the external payments position, reducing the risk of a balance of crisis in the near term.

France's top counterterrorism magistrate, Jean-Louis Bruguiere, had spent three years investigating Mir after one of Mir's French operatives, Willie Brigitte, was arrested in a foiled bomb plot in Australia. Brigitte gave a long confession identifying Mir as his Lashkar handler, describing him as a figure whose influential connections made him "untouchable in Pakistan." With the help of foreign investigators, Bruguiere built a case that Mir was a kingpin leading terrorist operations on four continents.

The evidence also convinced Bruguiere that Mir was an officer in the Pakistani army or the ISI, a branch of the military. This point is murky: Senior European and U.S. counterterrorism officials concur with the French judge, but some U.S. investigators do not think Mir was in the military. Pakistani officials say they have no information on Mir or Maj. Iqbal and deny any role of the security forces in terrorism.

In October 2006, two years before the Mumbai attacks, Bruguiere issued an arrest warrant for Mir that was circulated worldwide by Interpol. There was no response from Pakistan.

A Paris court convicted Mir in absentia and sentenced him to 10 years in prison in 2007. Nonetheless, Bruguiere says most Western investigators he dealt with continued to view Lashkar as a regional actor confined to South Asia.

"For me it was a crucial case, a turning point," Bruguiere said, "because of what it revealed about the role played by Pakistani groups in the global jihad and about the role of the Pakistani security forces in terrorism. We had the impression that Mir was protected at the highest levels of the state."

In summer 2007, Bruguiere met at the White House with a top security adviser to President George W. Bush. The French judge shared his fears about Lashkar and his suspicion that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf was playing a "double game." (Musharraf has asserted publicly that he was a staunch ally in the fight against terrorism.)

Bruguiere said the White House official, whom he declined to identify publicly, did not seem convinced.

Sadler - it is also a historic coincidence that Islam spread along a contiguous land mass that served as a bridge between the east and Europe. Trade routes from India and China to Europe were overrun by these hordes and highway robbery fed them and a protection racket kept these people well fed until sea trade overtook land trade.

Pakistan still acts like a highway tax collector who runs a protection racket. That is how they see so much importance in geography. And that geography is connected up with Islamic history to make tradition. Even today the Pakistanis are offering Gwadar and a land route to China and I have read Paki articles in the last 3 days where Pakis have said "China has 1 trillion in dollar reserves and this is a resource that need to be utilized" "Resource" to be "utilized" by Pakistan. :rotfl:

This desire of Pakistan for parity with a much larger neighbor, India, is not new. As I argue in my forthcoming book, Pakistan's desire for parity has its roots in pre-Partition history. The All India Muslim League sought parity with the Indian National Congress, on the grounds that Muslims, even if numerically only one-fourth of the population, had an equal right, as Hindus, to determine India's future. This legacy continued after 1947, and Pakistan has consistently sought economic and military parity with India. Even after the break up of Pakistan in 1971, the desire on the part of the Pakistani policymakers -- civilian and military -- to maintain parity continued.
From Pakistan's perspective the relationship with U.S. is vital because American economic and military assistance is supposed to help Pakistan achieve its goal of being treated as India's equal. What is ignored is that during the Cold War, the Americans were often disenchanted with India they never saw India as an enemy, and hence were reluctant to bracket India with communist countries. The various American Cold War alliances that Pakistan entered into only referred to communist aggression as "aggression" frustrating the Pakistani policy makers to no end.
This desire for parity also meant that Pakistan looked askance at any American attempt to build ties with India or offer India economic or military assistance. Pakistani leaders have portrayed every such American attempt as a betrayal of Pakistan and stated that Americans do not realize the "untrustworthiness" of the Indians. Former Pakistani military dictator General Ayub Khan even asserted that the only true American friends in Asia are the Pakistanis. For the last sixty-three years, Pakistan has tried to achieve parity -- especially economic and military -- with India, but has not succeeded. India's population is over 1 billion and Pakistan's close to 180 million. India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is six times Pakistan's and India's economy is growing at 8.5% currently, whereas Pakistan's economy will grow at the rate of its population growth -- in effect canceling out growth.
The desire to seek parity with India has led Pakistan down a path that is not sustainable, which has had negative impacts on its economy and led to increased defense expenditure and negligible social spending. Both Kashmir and Afghanistan have formed aspects of this desire for parity with India. Interference in Afghanistan has only led to a blowback with a massive terrorist infrastructure which is now a strategic threat to Pakistan. Some analysts believe that if Pakistan is able to get Kashmir from India, this will help Pakistan achieve parity.
Demographically-speaking, India's Jammu and Kashmir with a population of approximately 10 million will not help Pakistan achieve parity with India. In the economic arena while tourism is Kashmir's biggest industry and the rivers flowing through Kashmir provide water to Pakistan these alone would not boost Pakistan's economy to the level of India's. What United States, India and other friends of Pakistan can do is to help Pakistan achieve this objective. India, especially, is in a role to do the most to help Pakistan. While economic, demographic and military parity is not possible, a feeling of psychological parity where Indian leaders are more accommodating of Pakistan's sensitivities and unilaterally offer Pakistan concessions on a number of issues.

The CIA World Factbook says that in 2009, the Indian GDP was $3.57 trillion (PPP) or $1.236 trillion (exchange rate), and the Pakistani GDP was $433.1 billion (PPP) or $166.5 billion (exchange rate).

Thus in Purchasing Power Parity, the Indian economy is 8.2 times Pakistan's; and in official exchange rate terms, the Indian economy is 7.4 times Pakistan's.

And since India's population is only 6 times Pakistan's... well, put two and two together.

Oh, for the paklurks, since this may prove hard for you I'll do it for you: clearly India's GDP per capita is higher than Pakistan's.

American drone attacks in Pakistan hit a century in 2010, when United States missiles hit a vehicle carrying four terrorists near the Afghan border early on Tuesday. The 100th attack of the year occurred in the Bangi Dar village in North Waziristan, reports Tahir Ali.

Ramana Saar, I have been watching this with interest. There is some fetish for the word "Geo-Strategic Location" in TSP.
It is not new though. This is something that Pakis have been using since inception.

http://iref.homestead.com/Messiah.html ( In 1st post of every TSP thread )
"America needs Pakistan more than Pakistan needs America," was Jinnah's reply. "Pakistan is the pivot of the world, as we are placed" -- he revolved his long forefinger in bony circles -- "the frontier on which the future position of the world revolves." He leaned toward me, dropping his voice to a confidential note. "Russia," confided Mr. Jinnah, "is not so very far away."
That was the first ever quote on Geo strategic location from what is available publicly.
Well , Jinnah has been proven wrong now that the Cold war is over.

But the Pakis continue to use it as though the world depends on it for its very survival.

Look here:
Bakistan board of investment: http://www.pakboi.gov.pk/5keyreasons.htm
Reason - 1: Geo-strategic Location
Located in the heart of Asia, Pakistan is the gateway to the energy rich Central Asian States, the financially liquid Gulf States and the economically advanced Far Eastern tigers. This strategic advantage alone makes Pakistan a marketplace teeming with possibilities.

So I started looking for energy and shipping maps.
Energy
The central Asian states do not figure in the top list of both oil and natural gas:
http://blog.fortiusone.com/2008/08/26/g ... n-with-3d/
http://mcaf.ee/ab210
http://blog.fortiusone.com/wp-content/u ... maker1.jpg
And anyway, with deep sea pipelines becoming more and more attractive from a cost and environment perspective in the long run, Pakistan just became even more insignificant.

Shipping
And neither does Karachi port have any significance at all , located far away from the open Indian ocean , the gulf coast and the Malacca straits.
It does not figure in the top shipping lanes of the world either.
http://billjaquette.net/top-major-shipp ... the-world/

I do not see anything of merit to substantiate the use of Geo-strategic location apart from the T in the TSP.

So fellow citizens of an Unstrategically-Geo-located nation, the time has come for "Pakistan's Geo-strategic location" to be seriously considered in BRF's top-secret-ultra-strategic thread

For the lurkers from the Strategically located Geo-stationary land of the terrorist state of Pakistan aka Paklurks....I hope you guys realise that that is just a flimsy reason lie to extend the begging bowl.Bwahahahahahahaha. :rotfl: :rotfl:

There is some fetish for the word "Geo-Strategic Location" in TSP.

thanks neela. for drafting this out. Starting with Margaret Bourke-White's early article(~1949) in Life, there are repeated references throughout their history to support your thesis.

it is one thing to realize the geopolitical significance of one's land and quite another to put all your eggs in that basket. since inception, every thought and action has been towards forwarding that line and nothing about betterment of their own people. their most defining moment is their intervention in afghanistan leading to the afghan war. with great pride they tomtom their role in defeating in a 'super power'. in sum total, all that 'role' was a massive exercise in skulduggery and tsp itself reduced to nothing but a sophisticated version of a local goonda, who does terrorizes neighbors for a payment.

the question is, what did this role achieve for tsp and their neighbors? uncle as far removed as he was, walked away with the only plausible trophy - the idealogical intangible. but tsp's role achieved nothing instead entire populations, in both its own backyard and its neighbourhood, have been regressed to zealotry and misery.

it was US-soviet buffer then. Next it is going to be US-China. bottom line beyond shahi-dreams like geo-politics they have no imagination for their people. in sixty odd yeras what has tsp done to move its people in the direction of betterment. in real measurable terms? even geo-politics they aspire to be nothing more than a highway thug. seeking rent for a pipe, seeking rent for access, no imagination beyond that and definitely nothing that involves hardwork and sacrifices.

I don't even consider Pakistan as an independent. Pakistan is a territory of the USA.

As an American Pashtun, it's our territory.

Shaardula, since inception, every thought and action has been towards, destroying India. Rehmat Ali's wet dream of breaking up India, Jinnah's desire to have enclaves like Hyderabad, Junagarh, Bhopal within India were meant to be used for internal subversion later. Of course, I have nothing to substantiate this claim, but, all the actions of the rabid Muslim League point to that. The Muslim League probably felt that when India was looted, as Ghoris and Ghaznis did, their people will be bettered naturally.
in sixty odd years what has tsp done to move its people in the direction of betterment. in real measurable terms? even geo-politics they aspire to be nothing more than a highway thug. seeking rent for a pipe, seeking rent for access, no imagination beyond that and definitely nothing that involves hardwork and sacrifices.
Hardwork and sacrifice were not known to the Muslim league leaders. They had the full backing of the British. They knew that they would achieve what they wanted and so they never exerted themselves except being lackeys of the British and throwing a spanner into the works as per their master's bidding. Naturally, the same tendency continued after Independence because they continued to have the support of the British. When the British power waned, they hitched themselves to the American petticoat and the latter followed the dicta of Sir Olaf. The Muslim League had no clear policy on governance. Even in the Cabinet that was formed under Nehru before Independence, the Muslim League was more interested in opposing anything that the Congress did rather than providing good governance. That continued after Independence too.

What have they given to their people ? Why, they have given them purer doses of Islam.

The Muslims all over the world have yet to learn that there are other ways of making money and thriving economically than through and by Muslim rule. Those who are doing nothing to place modern progressive ideals before the Muslims, and simply emphasize ingenious dogmas, hair-splitting doctrines, and reliance on Government, can hardly be called good friends of the Muslims.

Piglets looking for dead pigs..... :twisted:

http://in.news.yahoo.com/20/20101118/14 ... led-i.html
Eleven years after the Kargil War, the Pakistan Army which has been denying its role in the conflict has quietly included the names of 453 soldiers and officers in the battle on its website.
The 453 Pakistani soldiers were shown killed in Batalik-Kargil sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

The names of those who died in Kargil are tucked away in a list of thousands of personnel killed while on duty that has been posted in the "Shuhada's Corner" (Martyrs Corner) {aka Dead Pig's Corner} of the website.
Several others were posthumously given other gallantry awards like the Tamgha-e-Jurat (Medal of Courage). {For all those who didn't wet their pants}
The army also reveals the codename given to the operation to occupy strategic mountains and heights on the Indian side of the LoC – "Operation Koh-e-Paima" or Mountain of Resolve. {Resolve to tuck tails when faced with real men}
A majority of those who died in Kargil were soldiers from the Northern Light Infantry, a formation that was made a regular regiment of the Pakistan Army because of its performance in the 1999 conflict.{dog biscuits for becoming cannon fodder}
Several causes are cited for those who died in Kargil – "killed in action", "enemy action", "enemy firing", "enemy artillery shelling" and even "road accident". Only one regret, don't know the authenticity of the nos, but sure do hope they were more like 4530, instead of 453. Only good pig is a dead pig!!! :twisted:

Die pigs die, die of floods, die of cholera, die of bombs of your self created terrorists, just die fast enough so that we can be in peace. May deathly peace be upon you. :twisted:

India, especially, is in a role to do the most to help Pakistan. While economic, demographic and military parity is not possible, a feeling of psychological parity where Indian leaders are more accommodating of Pakistan's sensitivities and unilaterally offer Pakistan concessions on a number of issues.
This kind of tripe is so tragic, not only to India, but I truly pity the Indian elite working for s$itty intituions like this Hundson institute for having to point out facts and then draw conclusions to please their paymasters. I mean Aparna's cowardice is tantamount to something like this which I am sure would be repugnant to any decent human being, more so as a woman: There is a neurotic maniac in the neighborhood who for ever craves to have his neihgbor's wife. So the entire neighborhood, and especially the husband of the wife being sought out, must make unilateral concessions to this maniac to give him a psychological sense of parity with the husband. This is the logic that Aparna Pande invokes to deal with TSP's "grievance" visa vi India for which she ought to be ashamed of herself.

one good unilateral concession we can make to paquistan is to stop doing the wagah ceremony so they can do it to their H&D's content
another good unilateral concession is to provide real Parle biscuits during the chai-biskoot sessions at governmental level
the list is endless

Considering that "Parle" means "talks" in French, the 'lingua franca of diplomacy', they are the right biscuits for chai-biskuit sessions.

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani has called for greater American public support for the country’s flood victims.

Haqqani faulted coverage of the tragedy in the American media. He pointed out that the media ignored the plight of flood victims and instead focused unduly on political and security implications of the floods that triggered an epic humanitarian crisis.

Haqqani was making an impassioned appeal to back recovery efforts for flood victims to a gathering of American citizens, Congressional staffers and Pakistani-Americans at an event the ambassador and his wife, MNA Farahnaz Ispahani, hosted at their residence.

“One fifth of Pakistan, an area of the size of Italy, an area of the size of the entire east coast of the United States all the way from Maine to Florida, was inundated…two large rivers basically merged into each other…ten years of rainfall occurred in a space of seven days
Haqqani begs for more
