So all those tapes by OBL at regular intervals were all from TSP. No wonder.

Obama gave no credit to TSP. He says he ordered a team today and after a firefight they killed OBL and took him away to Afghanistan.

He keeps saying TSP is victim of terror. And is praising them@@@

It is my guess that pakis helped in the most general way (or probably no help at all). He also asked Pakis to continue cooperation. So I will be surprised if Pakis played a major role.

interesting comment about TSP. Obama thanks Zardari, and said US military officials spoke to their TSP counterparts. And he called on TSP to take on terrorists. R-man, can you parse this statement? Didn't sound like a ringing endorsement of TSP to me. Speech is still going on, so lets see what else he says about TSP.

There was a news sometime back that Unkil was surprised and shocked at how TSP was allowing OBL to live so freely in TSP. If anyone finds it please link it here.

Another discussion is how AQ will take revenge. Is it hijacking or worse? Need to analyze the response and predict it based on combined community knowledge.

I'm pretty sure OBL died long ago back in 2002 as Benazir Bhutto announced.

His body has probably been kept on ice since then ... if it even exists.

The reason this news is being given publicity now is because US wants to withdraw from Afghanistan and claim mission accomplished without losing face.

The main objective however which was the destruction of the Taliban has not succeeded or succeeded only partially much like with the Soviets.

Think about it - a guy like OBL wouldn't survive more than a couple of months running around in Pakistan post-911.

Obama also asked Pukes to continue the party line and help the US in the war on terror. That is more of an implicit threat to the Pukes rather than the usual "you've suffered the same fate and you've helped us." It's a delicate balance and Obama is finessing it.

More likely that lack of CIA ISI cooperation meant that ISI could not get information to move Osama out in time.

My immediate reaction:

1. Pakistan's core leadership - i.e. the army - has known of Osama all along
2. Amirkhan found out and last week confronted Pakjabis with irrefutable evidence, large carrots and larger sticks.
3. Pakjabi army gave up Osama.
4. Pakistan is even more f*cked as the more pious start to realize the implications of # 3.

TV is reporting two helicopters landed on the mansion for the strike. so likely a delta force unit based out of afghanistan or jacobabad.

its also showing lot of Pak army and armoured cars on the street to keep the peace now....
