I have never felt as underwhelmed and pessimistic as I do in 2013. Thank you MMS and UPA cartel.

Remembering the greats who had dreamt and aspired, that in India, the real power shall lie in the hands of the common men.

Happy Republic Day to all my countrymen!

Happy Republic Day to all ...... :D
One request : I have always heard that in the previous wars that the country has faced or terrorist attacks , our security forces fought very bravely and gave up there life fighting for the country even without proper/sufficient equipment. Even at times the basic equipment like bullet proof vests, night vision devices and many other things were left wanting.
All the policy makers please ensure that none of our security force are expendable and all of them are packed to the hilt for the job at hand, and in the worst case if someone make the supreme sacrifice for the country then his sacrifice is not forgotten and in a short time it is avenged.
This will instill a lot of confidence on the people because of whom we feel confident and safe.

This has to be the most lackluster Republic day celebration on BRF ever.

I hope I dont sound too petty...but I was embarassed at the salute the president was giving during the Republic day parade (see on the rep day videos). Looks like he was completely clueless about the way he was saluting, like a 10 year old, with his hand in the general region of his forehead. Our leadership needs to learn how to salute smartly.

The other occasion of comment was the salutes by the service chiefs at the amar jawan jyoti. The naval guy does it smartly, IMHO, the army chief, not so cool....but these were more a matter of taste.

My comments relate only...to style.

^ Smart salute. How is it patriotic to use a foreign gesture irrespective of how smart it is.

Perhaps he should have folded his hands and do Namaste, meaning the republic of India is Na Mama, Te = I am not the symbol of republic of Bharat, but you the brave soldiers and society.

As long as we believe in using foreign gestures...why not do them smartly. There is no upside in copying foreign gestures poorly.

 yes, while being slaves there is nothing wrong in striving to be perfect slaves.

RamaY:
I am sure you write in jest, but based on your argument..

I am sure you would like to see our special forces turn out in dhotis, as opposed to smartly turned out in trousers :-)...

Happy R day, in anycase.

It would not be fair to attribute all IA's victories to the western cloaths. Similarly are there any battles Bharatiya soldiers lot due to their Dhotis?

Don't confuse fashion with foundations.
