Yes, all the best for a successful mission, which I'm more than 50% sure will take place.
The reservations are about, whether this particular cryogenic stage underwent sufficient testing on the ground; whether they have become a little complacent about the other stages esp the liquid strap ons( unlikely, but not impossible!), whether the extra stresses created by the greater mass/weight of the satellite, 2117kg, have been totally accounted for; plus complacency about other components including control systems, stage separation systems, auxiliary propulsion, on board computers, connectors, wiring etc.

Saar, any particular reason they wouldn't have done due diligence on such a basic thing? The reservations are about, whether this particular cryogenic stage underwent sufficient testing on the ground; whether they have become a little complacent about the other stages esp the liquid strap ons( unlikely, but not impossible!), whether the extra stresses created by the greater mass/weight of the satellite, 2117kg, have been totally accounted for; plus complacency about other components including control systems, stage separation systems, auxiliary propulsion, on board computers, connectors, wiring etc.

Sum, I guess I'm stating the obvious , it's because of past setbacks( failures, interruptions), at least 4 with regard to the GSLV. But you're right in implying that, they are more diligent now, than before. It's good, isn't it, to keep a degree of scepticism, not negativity or sour pus whining. As a cushion, almost.
Here's hoping for a spectacular success!

Varoonji is in anti-jinxed mode !!
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
The poster is just experiencing a case of "thruster shiver" i think and so no need to worry. ISRO did not get to where it is now by being shoddy. Just enjoy when it gets off the ground and be assured ISRO will master the GSLV as it has PSLV.sum wrote:Saar, any particular reason they wouldn't have done due diligence on such a basic thing? The reservations are about, whether this particular cryogenic stage underwent sufficient testing on the ground; whether they have become a little complacent about the other stages esp the liquid strap ons( unlikely, but not impossible!), whether the extra stresses created by the greater mass/weight of the satellite, 2117kg, have been totally accounted for; plus complacency about other components including control systems, stage separation systems, auxiliary propulsion, on board computers, connectors, wiring etc.

But truth be told, he is quite effective. Someone must get him to do his magic.

Web cast is streaming now.
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
I wish someday the commentators will learn the power of silence and that there is no need to summarise the control sequence.
The DD webcast does not have the control centre command voiceovers.

Hindi commentator is using sanskrit
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
Maybe this is because of the strategic nature of the payload ??rahulm wrote:I wish someday the commentators will learn the power of silence and that there is no need to summarise the control sequence.

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
For Jingos, ISRO should have a raw feed from the control centre from where commentators will be always banned
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
what strategic payload have to do with commentaries
