this forum gives a glimpse of many types of Indians. some have an almost visceral paralysis when it comes to any indication of proactively rolling back Pakistan. names are not important. but the thought process which produces such ideas needs to be attacked.

Months ago a picture was leaked showing Turkish army dragging the body of a dead Kurdish fighter through the streets. An now this. It shows the deep Pakiness of Turks, it's not unlike Packee army beheading of Indian Army jawans. Let's deal with the Turks if we have to but always be on our guard. My own experience with Turks tells me that most are (90%) are closet Islamists who dream of a new Turkish empire, where they freely loot the subjected infidels, kidnap and rape their women, etc..

middle east has islands of christianity that may or may not be protected by the western countries. some are still trying to run with the hounds (sunni cabal) and play with the hares (christians, shias) as well.

Palestinians hold Holi-like festival

Fuad Salah Al Yamani, the 19-year-old organiser of the festival who is a junior accounting student at Al Quds Open University, gives the credit for his festival’s huge success to the criticism and attacks the festival received from people who maintained that it violated Palestinian customs and traditions.

“I do not take criticism into real account. I have been happy with this criticism which paved the way for the huge success of the festival,” Al Yamani, told Gulf News.

The festival’s success prompted Al Yamani to organise another one in October, but on a larger scale. He will invite Palestinians in the Occupied West Bank to attend and expects to have ten times the amount of people.

The first Festival of Colours was organized in a private stadium, but the coming activity will be organized in a spacious public place to give the audience a better chance to celebrate the festival, he said.

So Turkey aided the formation of the 'Islamic State', than a month or so ago, the Turks asked IS to attack the leftist pro-Kurdish students/activists in Suruc. Turkey then works out a deal with the US where the US is allowed to use Incirlik Air Base. In return Turkey gets a carte blanche from the US/Nato to launch attacks on IS. But the Turks never intended to attack IS, in fact Turkey is still working with them, instead they use it as a cover to attack the Kurdish militia in Syria and Iraq.

How is this for Paki-like cleverness?

I am actually very pleased with the course of action Turkey has initiated because:

1. Turkeys relation with the Kurds is in ruin, the PKK has taken up arms again against the Turkish security services/army.

2. Turkey allowing the IS to operate freely means that the IS can continue to breed more jihadi's. These jihadi's are a long-term threat to Turkey and Europe. This could lead to more discord and radicalization in Turkey (alienation of Kurds in Turkey and more jihadi Islam).

I really hope Erdogan gets a majority in the new elections.

Qatar raises its game to fend off next LNG giants

Gas giant Qatar is becoming commercially sharper, using traders and tenders to grab new customers, and fighting to hold on to its share in the prized Asian market.

Qatar is the world's top supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG), but in the coming five years it could be surpassed by Australia, a shift which threatens its dominance in Asia -- which accounts for almost three quarters of the global market and has paid the highest prices.

"Previously Qatar's strategy had been about retaining price, in future it's going to be about retaining market share," said Noel Tomnay, head of global gas and LNG research at Wood Mackenzie.

"As lots of Australian LNG comes into the market, it's inevitably going to push out some Qatari volumes from Asia," Tomnay said.

This has prompted Qatar to work more closely with trade houses who are focused on short-term deals, often in riskier markets, while also lowering its price expectations.

"In the past Qatar did not need to be commercial. Now they are a lot more commercial, a lot sharper," said a trader at an international trade house. "They are dealing with traders more and have started participating in tenders."

A flying contingent of the Indian Air Force (IAF) are on a maiden visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from August 1-4.

Indian Embassy Charge d’Affaires Hemant Kotalwar, while addressing a press conference, called the visit significant, and yet another feature that is set to give the Indo-Saudi relations a boost.

“The visit underscored the close defense ties between India and Saudi Arabia, which received a fillip following Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman’s visit to New Delhi, when he was Crown Prince in February 2014, to sign a Bilateral Defense Cooperation Agreement,” he said.

Kotalwar thanked King Salman and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salam, minister of defense, for the support and cooperation rendered during the visit.

The contingent consisting of 110 IAF officers and airmen onboard Sukhoi 30MKI fighter aircraft, C-17 Globe Masters, C-130 Super Hercules and IL-78 aircraft while en route to United Kingdom for a multinational exercise landed at King Fahd airbase in Taif.

Eni discovers ‘supergiant’ gasfield near Egypt

Italian energy group Eni has discovered what it says is a “supergiant” gasfield off the coast of Egypt, the largest ever found in the Mediterranean Sea and which could provide a much-needed boost for the country’s economy.

Eni, one of Europe’s biggest oil and gas companies, said on Sunday that the Zohr discovery “could become one of the world’s largest natural-gas finds” and would play a “major” role in meeting Egypt’s natural gas demand for decades once fully developed.

The field held a possible 30tn cubic feet of gas, or 5.5bn barrels of oil equivalent, said the company, which has examined well results and geophysical data from the Zohr 1X NFW well located in 1,450 metres of water in the Shorouk exploration block. It covers an area of 100 square km.

Suppose this gas find turns out to be accurate.
In 2013, Europe imported 162 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia. This Egyptian find is about a trillion cubic meters. It can diversify Europe's supply; but is hardly enough to replace Russia.

^^^ If Europe imports 160 billion CM of gas per year from Russia, the Egyptian find is 16 years or so of consumption, if it entirely replaces Russian gas. Russia's gas reserves are 30-40 times greater. That is why I think this find enables Europe to diversify, but not to eliminate its dependency on Russia.

Now, if the Mediterranean find is somehow replicated a few times over, that could be of real strategic significance, as it would change the balance of gas power.

Zohr will feed Egyptian demand, it won't export to Europe.

There are already some giant discoveries in the region: Tamar and Leviathan in Israeli waters, Aphrodite in Cypriot waters.

Looking wider, there's a huge amount of gas in Kurdistan (Iraq), Azerbaijan and Iran, which can find its way to Europe through Turkey.

European gas demand is falling due to energy efficiency, the economic slowdown, and the huge growth in wind and solar power.

U.S. LNG exports will start by the end of the decade (from Sabine Pass, etc.), and there are some breathtaking discoveries offshore Mozambique (and Tanzania) that will feed the Asian LNG market.

Once the nukes restart, Japanese demand for LNG will also decline, just as the huge Australian LNG projects come onstream.

Russia is becoming increasingly dependent on China for gas/hydrocarbon exports, but the Chinese will take care to diversify.

The world is awash in natural gas, and Russia's importance is slowly but rather steadily declining.

The United Arab Emirates is expected to seek India's expertise in launching its Mars mission when its foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan visits Delhi this week, opening a new chapter in bilateral ties beyond security and economic partnership within a fortnight of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's maiden trip to the oil-rich Gulf nation.

India's assistance for launching the Mars mission will work out more cost-effective for the UAE than is possible from Europe or USA, and mark the first such collaboration between India and any Gulf country, officials said. Al-Nahyan will be in Delhi on September 2-3 with an 83-member delegation, including top officials of the UAE's space agency and captains of industry.

The two sides will explore cooperation in new areas including defence production, infrastructure, security, counter-terrorism, energy security and medium and small enterprises; scientific collaboration in areas such as space and renewable energy, sustainable development, environment, agriculture, desert ecology, urban growth and healthcare during Al-Nahyan's trip, MEA officials said.

My cousin in France said that there is a huge concern about refugees and is the main discussion point in office during their extended Lunch sessions and general chatter. The general public wants Govt to take some action but you can safely bet about the French being French and is indisputable!
This will bite them hard.

The Europeans are being silly about this. The politicians have a huge opportunity here and they are seemingly incapable of action, or even any real thought on the subject.

Incredible if you've watched the migrants. The sense of entitlement some of these chaps have is incredible. Some of them are even being sarcastic, etc.

I am impressed with Germans, they will take 800,000 this year. Unbelievable.

Do they know this is a security risk? A threat to their Chrsitian way of life? Yes of course they do. That is why it is so impressive.

But the point is well taken, those defenders of Islam Saudia and that indefatigable champion of oppressed Muslims Pakistan are quite mute. Ther is enough room to settle all of the Syrian population in Pakistan. It might even improve the local genes.

Unlike folks here, who seem to forget about how Hindus, Sikhs were genocided in Pakistan in 1947, 1971 in BD, 1989 in Kashmir. while constantly under threat in Assam, WB and Kerala, UP. During all these ventures the main leaders of these crimes found citizenship in Europe and America, with business, jobs for their children with continuous funding, media support for these causes. Their leaders could act freely as the population does not really care about atrocities on people who are pagan. Make Muslims 20% of these countries populations and no longer can their leaders use their resources to fund "Islamic" victories in the Indian subcontinent or Nigeria etc.

The world will then move towards genuine secularism being practiced whether it is India or Saudi Arabia.

well the Euro-US combine set fire to the beehives from afghanistan to west africa. none can blame the bees for wanting to migrate to new forests and setup new hives. 99% of the refugees are young people, sometimes with kids .. hoping to start over a new life with nothing but a small bag...there are no old people in the refugee boats..they cannot survive the physical hardship and are being left behind to die in failed and destroyed countries.
