Not sure how folks are determining who won a scuffle.
Point that needs to be highlighted is that mighty Chinese are now worse off than Bakistani students.

Right.
What a climb down for a wannabe superpower whose only nearest competitor is supposedly Amirkhan
News channels reporting it was ITBP involved and not even the IA

Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
The video was taken from the left side. The video was released by us.
Obviously it is our video. Would a chini take the video on left and give it us.
We stopped chini incursion. And we kicked the chini back and they ran off. Period
As usual I see here us indians paralysis by excess analysis.

Let me pass my judgement on this after having downloaded and enlarged (and also slowing down) that video.Anurag wrote: My take- I think the Chinese were to the left side. Their camo is lighter and that "flying kick" that came out from the left side looked more "Chinese" to me. I believe the man down was our guy.
1. The man who delivers the kick has a darker uniform
but..
2. The basic funda of psy ops means that we must eschew the need for "scientific" accuracy and swear on Chailman Mao's dead balls that the kick was delivered by an Indian. When in doubt, we win.
Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
Sir white banner from rt side, white trousers too.
Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
Bhai why so much angst who delivered the kick?
As Shiv saar say, when in doubt we win. This is not just rhetorical IMHO. A fight between a supposed souppawa and a wannabe. If it ends in a stalemate is a victory for the wannabe.
Whatever happened with stones and sticks the Chinese were sent back. That is the end of that phase and a victory for India. Don't get lost in the details.

Quite a lot of stoning and one of the Indian soldier flattened a Chinese guard with a flying kick
Looks like quite a serious scuffle and a single gunshot could have escalated quickly

Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
A soldier sneaked up from the left under the ledge and kicked the soldier who was till then throwing very well, but the kicked soldier stayed on his feet, he just went away a bit and resumed fighting. The red banner holder had come deep, and then ran back to his side. Then a soldier went down as if hit on the head with a stone, and is lying still. That is an Indian soldier. You can see the light on his white pants before he gets hit, and he was clearly gesticulating / throwing towards the left/top side before he got hit.
Hostility was clearly from Chinese side. Otherwise Indians could have simply gathered on the high ground and pelted the heck out of the Chinese.

on some TV channels, they are reporting that Chinese came with iron rods, and IA retaliated with rifle butts.Singha wrote:The indians looked like seasoned brawlers from tough govt schools .. some good slaps and kicks and the red manchu bannerman got some good thrashing also . Singha sir, seem like Chinese are reading your posts and formulating their strategy
I remember you talked about chinese attack with lathis etc., few days back

The side on right gets pushed out by end of video.

The ITBP chaps are well trained in martial arts and hand to hand combat .. they may not even need any weapons!sum wrote:Right.

If the Indian passive resistance mode succeeds in thwarting Chinese encroachment tactics against Bhutan, then other nations will also start doing the same, with security support from the US and maybe even India. I can imagine Japan, Indonesia and others simply sending their own troops to land in the chinese-occupied islands and pushing the Chinese out. No firing; just a quiet, passive landing and setting up shop. The whole SCS misadventure can unravel.
and that would be a quite interesting spectacle ..totally gandhian concept of warfare for the 21st century

as usual BRF is ahead of curve - told ya they would try a 'police action' with truncheons and brawling.

Whatever next; pepper spray, water cannons, rubber bullets, hired bouncers from private security firms like Xe formerly Blackwater who have been hired by the PRC to safeguard OBOR.Singha wrote:as usual BRF is ahead of curve - told ya they would try a 'police action' with truncheons and brawling.

Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
Why are Chinese afraid of firing bullets?
Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
Reg the video , the right side seem to be the Chinese as they are wearing a lighter shade of green uniform
The Indians seem to be on the left
Initially there is a large group of Indian soldiers who were standing behind some bund , they joined in the fracas later once things started heating up

Well... in this case the Indian soldiers gave a good account of themselves and sent the chinese pak-ing, but I wish the commander had stationed several soldiers on the high ground from where the video was taken. Anyway, from now on it looks like stone-pelting should be expected, unless the local commanders agree to ban it - and then who trusts the chinese?
Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
But look at red flag? Are we confusing the identity of two forces?

Huawei had fired it's Indian employees in Iran.

There should be mass resignation in Huawei India.

If Chinese had better of us, don't you think this would have been all over Gobar times? They even denied it ever happened.
If the ones in left are Chinese, why would Indian troops go the left and shoot the video? Why would we shoot the backside of Chinis?
End of the day, we kicked their back side and they went back.

as per a guy who works for a vendor of huawei india we met, huawei with grand fanfare setup a large center in blr. but then they took back all product work to cheen, and gave only some open src type work to india and some subcontracting cos. eg ONOS which is a open src proj that a clutch of asian cos are funding for sdn.nam wrote:Huawei had fired it's Indian employees in Iran.

i figure they are keeping center open only to avoid allegations of not having india presence but having made large telco sales here.
Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
ITBP has permanent presence here. Both on the north and south shore. North shore has metaled road. That kind of tells us this happened in the south shore and the people in the left are our boys.
Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
the north shore also has certain features which can make our men be on the left with water to the top of field of view. like those fingers of landSingha wrote:probable site of mutbher

Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
Look at the long shadows. Either early morning or late afternoon. And it is summer so sun was approx at zenith in trajectory. So per my Madarssa Ass-tronomey:
1. Assume late evening because why would cheens wake up so early? Probably intended to set up camp overnight.
2. Then sun will be in west. Shadow will point to east. So water is to west. Maybe local beach geometry. But generally, this means that events are on "north bank" in that region. (shiv?) Did IA go there in a boat to chase the buggers out? Or from land? Either way, I think chinese were chased back towards the lake. Video ends before they get back to boat.
3. So I cannot draw any conclusion from the above. The video must have been taken from Indian side since it appeared on fB. It must have appeared by approval of military censors.
Why?

A machine translation,
"In order to avoid escalation of tension, the Soviet frontier was ordered to chase Chinese people across the border. Beijing responds with the use of longer sticks, causing the two sides to become a stunt. The two sides sent boxers and wrestlers to the border, because both sides did not want to break out of war or lose face."

Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
UB,s analysis is correct. chinks are retreating to the left of the screen meaning west but video is shot from the north looking south by indian troops and therefore chinks are actually running to the east towards their territory.likely before noon rather than evening looking at the shadow pointing west

Incident was reported to have occurred on North Bank of lake. Video from north looking south, which makes sense. Then shadows are pointing east. So evening.
If India holds north shore then it is well inside Indian side of LAC (vertical, western, leg of the L-shaped lake).

IA should arrest the intruders instead of getting into street fight with these chinese goons. That's what Armies do. For all we know they may not be regular PLA, but some local goons armed with stoned and iron rods.
Re: Neutering & defeating Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
For arrest you need to plan overwhelming force and strike suddenly
