Sulowly, Sulowly Catchee Minkey!

Talks with India should be result-oriented, says Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday accused India of being "defiant and intransigent" to resumption of talks and said any bilateral dialogue should be result-oriented leading to the resolution of the Kashmir issue.

Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said talks with India should not be for the sake of it but result-oriented and sustainable and regretted that despite a number of gestures by Pakistan, "India remains defiant and intransigent to resumption of dialogue," according to a Radio Pakistan report.

Pakistan believes the international community has a role to play in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute and welcomes US Vice President-elect Mike Pence's statement on mediation on the issue.

Pence had told an American network that US President-elect Donald Trump can use his "extraordinary deal-making skills" to lessen tensions and solve problems around the world when he was asked whether Trump can be a mediator in deciding Kashmir.

Pakistan has previously welcomed the statements of Trump, the UN secretary-general and friendly countries such as China and Iran, Zakaria said.

He said India has so far denied undertaking any fact-finding mission to Kashmir but the international community will have to make New Delhi accept such demands.
Cheers Image
The Foreign Office spokesperson condemned "blatant human rights violations" by Indian security forces in Kashmir.

On a question of India's focus on purchasing arms for its forces, he said the "consequent conventional asymmetry" due to the action poses threat to regional peace and stability. Indian Economy is Eight Times Cwapistani Economy. The Indian Defence Budget of US$ 51 Billion is only Six Times Cwapistani "Declared" Defence Budget of US$ 8.5 Billion. However, the Pakistani Armed Forces Size and Capacity is about Half that of the Indian Armed Forces. So once can easily work out the "Correct" Figure!

He said Pakistan does not want to indulge in arms race and believes scarce resources of the region should be devoted to socio-economic uplift of the people. Cwapistan speakth with Forked Tongue!

About the recently-concluded Heart of Asia Conference in Amritsar, which was attended by Pakistan Prime Minister's Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Zakaria said India resorted to negativity during the meeting to hide its crimes in Kashmir.

"This also exposed India's claims of commitment to the prospects of peace in Afghanistan as it misused a platform meant for promoting peace and stability in the war torn country," he said.

It is ok to vomit on Baki platforms hell it is even ok to vent on international platforms like UN. Just that nothing has yielded any results so far and the future prospects appears equally dim.

Govt lifts ‘undeclared’ ban on Indian cotton imports
LAHORE: Pakistan on Wednesday lifted an ‘undeclared’ ban on imports of ginned cotton from India, pledging to strictly implementing all phytosanitary and other conditions governing the fibre’s imports on future incoming shipments via surface or sea.
However, traders at that time claimed that rising border tensions between the two neighbours had prompted Islamabad to impose the ban on Indian cotton.
Whether it is politics , or whether it is economy, Pakistan can be" relied" on to speak with a "forked tongue"
Last year, a drop of 27pc in domestic cotton output shaved 0.5pc off gross domestic product growth rate, according to the budget for the ongoing year. “Any delay in execution of the contracts with Indian cotton exporters will allow them an opportunity to raise their prices or cancel the deals,” the trader said. “That will not be beneficial for our industry or exports at a time when our crop output is falling far short of our requirement.”
In view of the above, a BAN should be placed on all EXPORTS of cotton to Pakistan !

Likely for 'mothership of terror' comment, PM Narendra Modi beats Donald Trump, others in Time's online 'Person of the Year' poll
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today won an online poll of readers for Time magazine's 'Person of the Year' in 2016, beating out other world leaders, artists and politicians as the most influential figure of the year.
According to the Time magazine, Modi won with 18 per cent of the vote when the poll closed Sunday at midnight. He placed well ahead of his closest contenders, including US President Barack Obama, US President-elect Donald Trump and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who all received 7 per cent of the "yes" vote. Modi also placed far ahead of other prominent figures of this year, like Mark Zuckerberg (2 per cent) and Hillary Clinton (4 per cent).
Time also analysed the moments from 2016 when this year's poll contenders were most talked about. For Modi it was on October 16, when the Indian leader suggested during a summit of BRICS nations in Goa that Pakistan is the "mothership" of terrorism

Falijee Ji :

Cwapistan gets 80.2% of the Indus Waters. As such the shortages are due to mismanagement of Water Resources.

Cwapistan should have used it Monetary Resources for Health, Education, Welfare, Water Resources Management like Building Dams and lining of Canal Walls to minimize leakage/seepage of the Canal Waters - It causes Water Logging in addition to loss of water for Agriculture.

Be assured that Indian full usage of its 19.8% quote of Indus System Waters can not be the cause of Cwapistan Water Woes. In addition to mismanagement of Waters Cwapistan has also mismanaged its Population by allowing an unprecedented growth thereby creating shortages especially Water.

Please realize Population Growth is in Geometrical Progression where as Grain etc. Growth is in Arithmetical Progression.

In 1947 - at the time of Partition - the Population of West Cwapistan was about 30 Million. At that time the Indian Population was 330 Million - Eleven Times. Now that the Eastern Half has seceded the Population of Cwapistan -as per U.S. and World Population Clock - is 201,995,540. According to the same Site the Indian Population is 1,266,883,598 i.e. about Six Times.

In my opinion - referring to the 2011 Census news - Population shoots up by 47 percent since 1998 : March 29, 2012 the Population of 197,361,691 in 2011 against 134,714,017 in 1998, showing an increase of 46.5 percent.

Using the above two figures the Annual Rate over 11 Years is 3.58%. On this basis the Cwapistani Population over 5 Years (2011 to 2015) would approach 240 Million. Even by a conservative estimate the Cwapistani Population is at least 225 Million i.e. One-Fifth of the Indian Population.

With the Cwapistani GDP being about One-Eighth the Indian GDP, Cwapistan is up Sh*t Creek without a Paddle!

Family protests gang rape of their beloved donkey
SAHIWAL – In a bizarre incident, a 70-year-old man with his entire family have accused six men of sexually abusing their donkey before taking it away at gunpoint in Sahiwal district of Punjab.

Zahoor Ahmed, a resident of village 57/GD in Bahadur Abad police limits, staged a demonstration Wednesday in front of District Police Office Sahiwal. The family alleged that the police were not lodging a complaint against Abrar, Ashraf, Sadabahar, Zawar, Maqbool and Akhlaq who sexually assaulted their animal.“Zawar Ahmed wanted to buy my donkey. But when I refused to sell him the animal, he (Zawar) along with his other men carried out this heinous crime.“Later, they took away my donkey at gunpoint,” the old man told the media outside DPO Office.Bestiality is a sexual offence in which an animal is used as a medium to satisfy the sexual desire of a human being. The disgruntled man has demanded DPO Atif Ikram to register a FIR against the criminals as Shahid Nazir, the local station house officer, refused to entertain his application.Sahiwal police spokesman Mehar Nazir Ahmad told Daily Pakistan that they have called the aggrieved party tomorrow (Thursday). The further decision will be made after an inquiry into the incident which, the spokesman say,

Is it possible that in the Islamic Republic Of Pakistan, it is NOT an offense to "sexually assault" a non-human

Paki "News Police" Upset With TV Channel

Pemra issues notice to private TV channel for airing 'screams of passengers' onboard PK-661
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on Thursday issued a show cause notice to a private TV channel, Channel 24, for airing a fake audio clip following the crash of the ill-fated Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-661.The Pemra notification reads that the channel reportedly aired screams of the passengers, moments before the crash.“Audiences expressed their displeasure on it, submitted complaints at the Pemra complaint centre and on the authority's twitter account," added the statement.he notification went on to say that the audiences “protested over the insensitive display by the channel and demanded action against its irresponsible and unprofessional attitude".
Pemra directed the channel's administration to produce evidence that the alleged audiotape was of the passenger cabin of the ATR aircraft, and in the event it was, to reveal how it was recorded, transported to the channel and under which mechanism, the channel had the confirmation that the tape was authentic.
Why is the PEMRA sudddenly" going after " channel 24" ; the Paki media / television has been in the business of "faking news" since the last 70 years ; anyone , remember the 1965, 1971 and the Kargil war when the Paki public was "fed good news" !

World Bank cancels $100m loan to Pakistan
IANS/Islamabad

The World Bank has cancelled a $100 million loan approved for a natural gas efficiency project, citing a lack of interest on the part of a Pakistani gas distribution company. The project, which was to be carried out by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) in its distribution areas in Karachi, interior Sindh and Balochistan, was aimed at enhancing the supply of natural gas by reducing physical and commercial losses of gas in the pipeline system, Dawn reported. If it (inefficiency, non-interest, corruption) can happen to "gas", it can happen to "water" as well ; however, this time, India is not a "culprit" A World Bank report said the failure of the project led to its closure and, as a result, the levels of unaccounted-for gas remained high while continuing to drain the precious natural resource.Justifying its rating of "unsatisfactory", the World Bank report said it should have exercised caution and not proceeded with a project that did not receive sustained interest from the board and management of SSGC, which had insufficient ownership in the project.Against the original commitment of $200 million, the bank had disbursed only $0.25m.The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) imposed a penalty on gas companies for unaccounted-for gas beyond the benchmark of 4.5 per cent. The World Bank undertook a strategic review of the project, which identified strong implementation challenges with no progress towards achieving the development objectives of the project as well as no disbursement against project-related activities.

We do not want to live in perpetual hostility with India, says Pak
Striking a conciliatory note amid rising tension in ties, Pakistan today said it does not want to live in “perpetual hostility” with India, noting time has come for the two neighbours to decide whether status quo should continue or a new beginning be made.

Calling for an “uninterrupted and uninterruptable” bilateral engagement, Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit said the two countries must overcome the differences in order to embark on a “irreversible trajectory” of cooperative relationship.

Maintaining that Pakistan was ready for comprehensive talks with India, Basit, however, said the desire for engagement was missing from the Indian side, adding his government has patience and was ready to wait for resumption of dialogue.

“I think we have wasted 70 years of our existence. Time has now come to make up our mind on what do we want. Whether we would like to continue with the status quo or we want to make a new beginning in our ties,” Basit said.

His comments at a discussion on Indo—Pak relations came amid escalating tension between the two countries over a number of cross—border terror attacks, including at army establishments in Uri and Nagrota, and India’s surgical strikes across the LoC in September.

“Pakistan does not wish to live in perpetual hostility with India. We remain positive and constructive but it takes two to tango. There are serious problems between the two countries. We cannot shy away from them but at the end of the day we can engage in purposeful diplomacy, we can realise results for mutual satisfaction and make a good beginning,” he said.

At the same time, he said, for Pakistan Jammu and Kashmir was the core issue between the two countries and finding a solution to it could bridge the trust deficit them.

“We need to move from conflict management to conflict resolution and that obviously cannot happen unless we talk to each other with sincerity and seriousness of purpose,” Basit said.
This is a clever-by-quarter approach by Pakistan.

They want to strike the Trump iron when it is hot by proclaiming their readiness for talks and 'highlighting' India's refusal at the same time trying to influence Trump's advisors as to where they should put the pressure.

They also know that a retaliation for Nagrota is on the way and want to likely preempt that through the offer of talks.

Of course, they are simultaneously trying to activate the 'uninterrupted & uninterruptible' constituency of desh drohi peaceniks in our country.

You mean as a part of recent Paki initiative that was spelled out by Senile Aziz to establish links with "Indians opposed to Modi's extremism"?

It can be argued though that 'uninterrupted & uninterruptible' constituency of desh drohis (they are no peaceniks) was never inactivated in the first place. They have always been active.

Also displaying Pakiyat to the extreme the passenger manifest of the ill fated plane was released to the public very soon after the crash. I am sure this happened before each of the next of kin was contacted by the airline. One should never have to read about a deceased relative from a newspaper or public website. Yet Pakis didn't feel anything was amiss with this, even the venerable Dawn published the list.

I am not sure at this stage, India is planning any response. Its been too late, and also as you say, TSP has tactically toned down both in rhetoric and along the LoC, so I doubt ModiJi would want to be any more aggressive than necessary. But that said, it is worth reiterating that one surgical strike alone won't deter TSP. Many more are needed. And I hope we don't see another form of r"surgical strike" by ModiJi by resuming bear hugs to Gaanja. The pressure must be on, and there needs to be justice for 26/11 at the very least.

On your second point, I think TSP is playing on the constituency in India that believes that while India has terror concerns, TSP has the "core issue" concerns, so terror must be part of a dialogue process. Knowing very well that as long as terror rages on, TSP will make brazen demands in any dialogue, confident that they have the terror albatross around India's neck.

CRS, I am sure there will be response. The response is going to be unpredictable in content & delivery. Or, at least, that is what I guess. It won't / can't be always immediately after an event. That can happen only in the event of unprovoked Pakistani Rangers or Army firing/shelling.

Counter-terrorism cooperation with China to continue: COAS - Daily Times
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday said that Pakistan would continue its cooperation with China to eliminate terrorism from the region. He said this during his visit to National Counter Terrorism Training Centre (NCTC), Pabbi and spent his day witnessing concluding sessions of high profile training events. He saw the final day of two months long Pak- China exercise Warrior-4 {Two months is a pretty long period for mere 'exercises'. The PLA is receiving training from PA on counter-terror operations. Relatively speaking, PA has more experience than PLA in these operations}, which was focused on high impact counter terrorism operations both in rural and urban areas using Special Forces of both countries, according to of ISPR spokesman.

While speaking to officers and troops on the occasion, the Chief of Army Staff noted that sharing good experiences through series of exercises had improved counter terror combat skills of both Chinese and Pakistani troops. He emphasised that such exercises have integrated the two armies and will help us to eliminate terrorism from the region. Our newly built NCTC has been recognised as a world class facility and is attracting other armies for training with our army.

The COAS appreciated the interest of friendly countries in training with the Pakistan Army and said, "We will continue to offer our training services for defeating the menace of terrorism and bringing peace. COAS also commended the staff of Training Centre for having trained Rangers, Police, ASF and other services also in fighting terrorists. Later, the Chinese military commander paid his gratitude to the Pakistan Army for the highest standard of training and skills, an asset that China shall continue to benefit. Our successful training and closeness will help further consolidate long term trusted strategic friendship of our two eternally friendly countries, the Chinese Commander said.

Pakistanis are saying that entire objective of India's heating up the border was to cause maximum discomfort to Raheel Sharif and to ensure that he does not create more problems for Nawaz Sharif.

Now that Bajwa is in charge, the border is suddenly eerie quiet.

Pilot made Mayday call soon after take-off
RAWALPINDI: The pilot of the ill-fated ATR-42 made his first call to the air traffic control soon after Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-661 took off from Chitral on Wednesday with 42 passengers and five crew members on board.
He said that the plane’s left engine was not functioning and moments later followed with a panicked: “Mayday! Mayday”. Then the plane crashed into the mountains of Batolni village of Havelian — 32 nautical miles from Benazir Bhutto International Airport — and vanished from the radar screen. An official at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport said the plane had taken off at 3.55pm and was scheduled to land in Islamabad at 4:40pm. Minutes before the plane crashed at 4.15pm, the pilot made the emergency call requesting permission for an emergency landing. The plane vanished from the radar screen soon after and the communication system stopped.

habal wrote:Pakistanis are saying that entire objective of India's heating up the border was to cause maximum discomfort to Raheel Sharif and to ensure that he does not create more problems for Nawaz Sharif.

Now that Bajwa is in charge, the border is suddenly eerie quiet.
It is strategic in many different ways

Puppet army of the Centcom has broken the chain of command. They need to be directed correctly and a change of guard is required.

Bajwa was the general who ensured chain of command and negotiated the ceasefire agreement in 2003

Nawaz Sharif Will Not Be Going To Trump's Ceremony After All

Fatemi’s US visit paying dividends
ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) for Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi’s mission in Washington is producing significant outcome since the think-tanks and leaders of the public opinion with whom he has interacted in his four days stay so far developed excellent understanding of Pakistan’s position on bilateral subjects with the United States, regional and international issues interest to both the capitals.
Highly placed diplomatic sources told The News here Thursday that Fatemi mission has got nothing to do with the ceremony where new US President Donald Trump will assume the presidency for four years in Washington.[ :(( /quote]
The Indian media reports early this week about possibility of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s taking part in the ceremony have been termed as mischievous and have no base whatsoever. The impression that it has been aspired in Islamabad for such participation is equally frivolous. The sources reminded that election of Donald Trump as the President of the most powerful country of the world was somewhat a new diplomatic phenomenon since the world at large and capitals haven’t any previous experience of dealing with him and his team. For the reason, the diplomats regarded the Fatemi mission as intelligent and shrewd diplomatic move for making assessment on the ground of upcoming scenario in Washington D.C. (Strike while the iron is hot ? )
The all-round review of the ties between Islamabad and Washington would be reviewed here in the PM House (request for Moolah?) as Tariq Fatemi returns from Washington where all relevant officials would be in attendance.
In the meanwhile government has taken in principal decision to appoint Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry as country’s new ambassador to the United States. The talented Aizaz will replace Syed Jalil Abbas Jailani who will call it a day in about 15 weeks upon completion of his contractual period end February. The prime minister will have to find a suitable replacement for the top bureaucracy slot in the Foreign Office in between and it appears that the selection would be a difficult task for him to undertake in a couple of weeks, the sources maintained.

US Congress approves aid, with caveats
Both chambers of the United States Congress have finally passed the 2017 National Defence Authorisation Act, which includes $1.1 billion for reimbursing the nations supporting US military operations in Afghanistan.
The largest chunk from this amount, $900 million, is available for reimbursement to Pakistan but almost half of it, $400m, has been put out of its reach. To get those $400m, Pakistan will have to get a ‘good conduct’ certificate from the US defence secretary.

Remittances fall 2.45pc to $7.874bln in July-November
KARACHI: The amount of money sent home by Pakistani working overseas dropped 2.45 percent to $7.874 billion in the first five months of the current fiscal year of 2016/17, the central bank said on Friday.
The country is heavily dependent on remittances to fund its current account on weaker exports receipts and slowdown in foreign investment. Strong remittances in recent years have helped build foreign exchange reserves to more than $23 billion.
