Another Pakistani Writer Warns Govt Against Ethnic Profiling Of Pashtuns .

Judging Pashtuns
Zulfiquar Y Rao March 12, 2017
Stereotypically identifying Pashtuns with violent extremism will have dreadful consequences in store
Despite accusations and prompt denials of any sort of racial profiling of Pashtun in various part of Pakistan, the reality today is people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are generally subjected to a particularly derogatory view by many in public and private. Indeed it is most condemnable attitude as it is corrosive for any society because it teaches people to make judgments about a particular group on the basis of the way they look or assumptions that they might make about a particular people. This then lead people to justify all sorts of discrimination and indignities against a particular ethnicity or group of people.
Certainly, there is no dearth of violent extremists within other regions and ethnicities of Pakistan, but Pashtuns are so stereotypically identified with violent extremists who pose a threat to the state and society of Pakistan. This in turn, and so rightly, offends the ethnic identity of Pashtun.
It goes without saying that letting this perception grow unchecked is homicidal to a democratic country with dreadful consequences in store.Certainly, sustainable solution lies in revisiting the state narrative which will require reforms in governance, education policy, Madrassa education, and foreign policy.
Interesting article warning the Govt of Pakistan against pursuing reckless policies and not learning a lesson after losing half the country in 1971 !

Meet the new chief of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba
Abdulk Rehman Makki will be the new chief of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and the Jamaat-ud-Dawa. Makki is the brother in law of Hafiz Saeed, the founder of the two outfits. The decision to appoint Makki as the new chief was taken after Saeed was placed under house arrest. He has been ordered to be placed under house arrest for 90 days. For the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, the JuD is a very crucial outfit. It is the one which raises the funds for the Lashkar-e-Tayiba to run its terror operations. With the JuD on the backfoot following the arrest of Saeed, it was decided that the group will now be headed by Makki who is also under the watch list of the United Nations.

Stocks bleed as KSE-100 Index loses more than 500 points :D

" Chinese Consortium" Investment In Paki Stock Exchange And "Badla Financing"

SECP, brokers lock horns over ‘in-house badla’
A US team of forensic investigators, who came to probe the March 2005 stock market crash, were baffled by the ‘badla’ system of share financing and took more than two months to understand it.Badla, also termed Carry-over Transaction (COT), was a unique system of stock markets found only in the sub-continent.It played a role in most market turmoil since 2001 and was one of the major causes of the market crash of 2008 that inflicted over $13bn losses on small investors. The crash led to the ban of ‘badla’.
Investors dealing with such a brokerage house are at risk, for, in case of the broker facing financial distress, those dealing in cash would also have to part with their investment due to no fault of their own.Such a situation occurred only a fortnight ago when a broker quietly sold off unsuspecting clients’ shares and took flight carrying with him billions in cash.
Brokers lament that the SECP’s action against ‘in-house’ financing has suffocated financing as a whole, leading to a steep decline in volumes of trade.
The Chinese consortium having bought 40pc equity in the PSX, four of their directors would be entitled to a seat on the Exchange’s board. ( If earlier reports are to be believed, "Chini blothers" were allocated four seats ! Wonder, if they did "due diligence" or were made aware of the "Badla System" , before they agreed to inject funds in the Paki Stock Exchange
Regulators worry that illegal activities such as ‘in-house’ badla, if left unattended, would hardly cut a pretty picture of the Pakistan capital market. WSJ and Forbes will have to re-write their opinion of the "fantastic performance " of the PSX !

The Facade Of Paki Census- Taking !

Pakistan's 6th census: A third sex, nine languages, many faiths
Pakistan is preparing for its first census in 19 years. Here are some facts about the upcoming enumeration exercise of the sixth most populous nation in the world.
A third sex ( Halal in Islami Pakiland  )
Only nine languages
but only nine of the country's estimated 70 will be listed,
nor will Gujrati — spoken by some Muslim immigrants from India who believe the lack of recognition... This was the mother-tongue of the Founder of this "accursed entity" !
Faith matters
The census will provide an insight into the true number of religious minorities, especially Christians and Hindus. And hopefully, the reasons for their endangered status
There are no separate options for Sikhs, Parsis or Baha'i. Sikhs, Parsis and Bahais should protest !
Feeling flush
One box asks households how many toilets they have — a particularly salient question in Pakistan, where the United Nations estimates up to 40 per cent of people defecate in the open air with dramatic health consequences, especially for children. :D == with India should be kept in mind ; have to make sure that "percentage" is less than India :P
The census gives two nationality options: Pakistani or foreign. But the army, which will conduct a parallel count, plans to be more precise mainly because of the country's Afghan refugees who are accused of everything from terrorism to trafficking. So, the "figures" are going to be "fudged" by the fauj !
No information will be collected on internal migration ( to "hide" the demographic dominance of the Pakjabis in non Pakjabis provinces like Sind, Balochistan !) — necessary to assess the political weight of a province where many people have moved for economic reasons.

West Indies batting star Marlon Samuels, who recently played the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore, has expressed his desire to join the Pakistan Army.

Samuels, who was part of the PSL champions Peshawar Zalmi, has also thanked the country's administration for the 'top class' security arrangements put in place in Lahore for the summit clash.

Hours after Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa met the PSL champions on Saturday, the West Indian, in a video message on Twitter, said, "For me it's more than just coming to Pakistan to a play a game of cricket, it is the significance and success of the team and smiles on the faces of the people that are sad."

"I am a Pakistani at heart and that it is why it didn't take me long to decide to come to Pakistan [to play the PSL final]," the Express Tribune quoted Samuels as saying in a video tweeted by Zalmi CEO Javed Afridi.

While addressing the Pakistani Army chief directly Samuels further said, "General, I wouldn't mind coming to Pakistan if I get a metallic badge on my shoulder. I'm just waiting for the metals [badges] on my shoulder. I would want to be a part of the Pakistan Army."

What a great message by @MarlonSamuels7, brought tears in my eyes, love you bro. May be @JAfridi10 can request honorary citizenship for him? pic.twitter.com/gbiUANMllK

- Faizan Lakhani (@faizanlakhani) March 11, 2017
Responding to the video message, the Zalmi CEO said, "Your golden words are a message for the world that we are a peace loving nation and we love cricket," he said. "You are the champions of the hearts."

EXCLUSIVE: Pakistan sends combat troops to Saudi southern border
The Pakistan army is sending a brigade of combat troops to shore up Saudi Arabia’s vulnerable southern border from reprisal attacks mounted by the Houthis in Yemen, according to senior security sources. The brigade will be based in the south of the Kingdom, but will only be deployed inside its border, the sources told Middle East Eye. "It will not be used beyond Saudi borders," one said. So, Pakistan has decided to "openly" take the side of the Saudis in the Sunni- Shia war in Yemen.

Marlon wants to avail the perks of the Bakistani army. During employment, you enjoy the power of lording over 'bloody civilians', enriching yourself with kickbacks, having white gloved waiters serving you snacks and sandwiches and mindlessly chanting 'AoA' upon spotting Indians. Post retirement, you can expect allotment of prime plots of land (< 90 acres), serving in myriad fauji companies, failing which you can become a defense analyst on TV! Try beating that West Indies Army!!!

Govt to act against 'propaganda campaign' targeting PM, his family: information minister
State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday said that action will be taken under cybercrime and defamation laws against those carrying out 'negative propaganda' against the prime minister and his family.Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Aurangzeb said, "While the Panamagate case was in court, there was a lot being said about it on the media and social media, and no action of any kind was taken against it.""However, in the past two weeks while the court has secured its verdict, a propaganda campaign has been carried out on social media, and people have been carrying out this campaign in an effort to influence the court," she alleged."Remarks like 'If the verdict is in favour of the prime minister, the judiciary will have lost its battle' have been used time and again," she claimed. Nawaz Sharif does not behave like a PM. Attends sessions of National Assemblies sparingly. And rarely meets the media in a press conference .Also likes to get adoration from the Aam Abduls ( like a King ). His cronies should take note and put in a good word to him for this "wonderful minister" :D .
"In the past two weeks, since the Panamagate verdict was secured, the PM has attended various events, but has refrained from using any of these platforms to influence courts regarding the case's verdict in any way," Aurangzeb claimed. :((

Pakistan begins fencing of Afghan border
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has started phased fencing of its 2,430 kilometres porous border with Afghanistan to effectively control incursion of terrorists as well as movement of drugs, arms and ammunition smugglers.Well-placed security sources told The Nation that the Frontier Corps Pakistan has started fencing of key border points of about 1,300 kilometres long border with Afghanistan in the Fata and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to informed sources the Frontier Corps is using different means to fence the critical points, which otherwise are difficult. Apart from fencing, aerial surveillance and special radar systems are being placed to check and hunt down suspected terrorists trying to infiltrate into Pakistan for terrorist attacks.Pakistan has already completed excavation work on several hundred kilometres long trench on 1,100 kilometre Chaman-Kandhar border in Balochistan province. The 11-foot-deep and 14-foot-wide trench completed in 2013 on the entire stretch of the border is greatly contributing in effective border management.
Afghanistan does not recognize the Durand Line Border . Afghanistan has also stated that it will not allow Pakistan to build a fence !

Malan reveals fan entered Peshawar change-room during PSL final

A young fan was able to briefly gain access to the Peshawar Zalmi dressing room, marring what was otherwise thought to be a well-executed security operation during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore last week. Despite the heavy security presence, the male fan - thought to be in his early to mid-teens - was able to make his way through to the dressing room before the start of the match at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Some of the Peshawar players came across the fan as they made their way up to the dressing room. According to English batsman Dawid Malan, one of the four foreign players with Peshawar who chose to travel to Lahore, the fan was dressed in a "green Pakistan suit" with the Pakistan flag painted on his face, and began requesting selfies. Malan pointed the fan out to a security guard, and he was promptly removed.

Raheel Update ! Saudi assignment: Raheel Sharif, his wife issued three-year multiple visas
ISLAMABAD: The government of Saudi Arabia has issued former Pakistan Army chief Gen. (r) Raheel Sharif and his wife a three-year multiple visa for Saudi Arabia, possibly making him the first Pakistani in ten years, who has been granted this facility in private capacity.According to a report, diplomatic sources told The News that this important development hints towards the possibility that Gen. (r) Raheel Sharif may have accepted the offer to head the Islamic Military Alliance (IMA) coalition force and also may have taken charge of it. Why is the media being so circumvent about this !
Sources also claimed that Gen.(r) Raheel Sharif's children have been issued multiple visas for three months.

Pakistan Hypocrisy In Yemen Policy !

Pakistani troops to guard Saudi borders against Houthi attacks

Pakistani Promises to play role for peace in Yemen
ISLAMABAD: Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister Abdulmalik Abdul Jalil Al Mekhlafi called on Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Monday. The Yemeni dignitary is on a two-day visit to Pakistan.Sartaj underlined the close coordination Pakistan and Yemen have maintained at the bilateral and multilateral levels in various areas. He added that Pakistan has always supported the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen and would continue to extend all possible assistance for restoration of complete peace and stability in the country.Mekhlafi thanked the adviser for Pakistan's continued political support  and economic assistance to Yemen.
He also briefed the adviser about the current situation in Yemen, the efforts by the government to pursue the path of peace and reconciliation rather than conflict, as well as the success achieved so far in subduing the threat posed by terrorist networks in the country. Issues related to serious humanitarian situation in Yemen, suffering from serious food shortages anywhere in the world, was also discussed. He also highlighted the efforts being undertaken by the government to address the multiple security, political and economic challenges confronting Yemen. The adviser appreciated the efforts of the internationally recognized President Abd Rabu Mansour Al-Hadi's government towards restoration of peace, harmony and stability in the country.
Progress concerning early release of 3 remaining Pakistani prisoners in Yemen and 12 Yemeni prisoners in Pakistan, who have completed their sentences, was also reviewed. So, these prisoners have become a "political football" :D

Marlon Samuels (Base price 50 Lakhs) remained unsold in c. 2016 IPL season. So, he is looking for opportunities wherever he can get. I don't blame him, especially when the West Indies board pays only a pittance to its players. But, his appeal to the Pakistani Army Chief is clearly to take out his frustrations against the Indians who rejected him. Otherwise, there is no need to refer to the Paki Army.

Again it was around 2010 in india that he was reported for suspect bowling action

Maybe he will be welcomed to the Paki Army and even made a (dis)honorary captain if he converts

"EU to change policies if Pak's attitude to Balochistan remains unchanged"- E.U. Member
Geneva: With the Baloch political and human rights activists demanding a special rapporteur in the UN to investigate Baloch human rights violation, scores of Baloch nationals staged a protest outside the United Nations headquarters in Geneva today against Pakistan.Member of European Parliament Ryszard Czarnecki said that European Union (EU) might change its economic policies if Pakistan's attitude towards the Baloch issue remains unchanged.
"For European Union, it is completely unacceptable that the government in Pakistan still uses violence against the people of Balochistan. We can observe the rise in violence in this region. The EU has special economic relationship with Pakistan and probably we should change this policy to Pakistan because in my opinion our economic relations with Islamabad should depend on the attitude of the Pakistani Government in human rights in Balochistan," Czarnecki told ANI.Leading the protest in Geneva, Baloch activist Mehran Marri accused Islamabad of using unfair tactics.
Highlighting the deteriorating condition of Baloch nationals in Pakistan, Maari said, "It has taken a nastier turn. This time from four to six months, the Pakistan military and intelligence agencies have embarked upon abducting women and children and taking them to undisclosed locations. I am sure they are being violated.""China entering the equation is a toxic mix. Punjabi and Chinese collation to exploit and loot Balochistan has worsened the situation, but China has to realise that Punjabis have been nobody's friend and Pakistan has not been America's friend," he added.
Baloch political activists and human rights defenders raised the situation of deteriorating human rights in Balochistan earlier on Friday and condemned the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) at a side event during the 34th Session of UN Human Rights Council.

23 Asian countries meet in Pakistan to mull union like EU. Is This The Reason For The Rumored Presence Of Shashi Tharoor In Islamabad
ISLAMABAD (AP) - A Pakistani government official says representatives of 23 Asian countries are meeting in Islamabad to talk about creating a regional block similar to the European Union. The chairman of Pakistan's upper house of the parliament, Raza Rabbani, addressed the gathering on Tuesday. He urged the participants to take steps to ensure "that the destiny of Asia must not be directed by the capitalist Western" states. However, with huge rivalries among the countries of the continent, the possibility of an Asian bloc similar to the EU is remote.India and Afghanistan have both sent envoys to the gathering, which comes amid increasingly tense relations the two of them have with Pakistan.Ramzan Sajid, a parliament spokesman, said the Islamabad conference is likely to suggest the formation of an Asian Parliamentary Assembly.
Who are the 23 countries? ; who is representing India in an official capacity ?; is this a move by Pakistan to counter it's growing diplomatic isolation ? A move by Pakistan to side-step SAARC . Diplomatic coup by Pakistan ? Lots of unanswered questions .

PS: Misleading article in the Daily Mail; gathering in Isloo is for the Asian Parliamentary Union Conference ; Tharoor part of India delegation !

'93% of Pakistani women experience sexual violence

Shocked Or Surprised - Not Sure !
KARACHI:
Pakistan is among those countries where 70% women and girls experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime by their intimate partners and 93% women experience some form of sexual violence in public places in their lifetime. This was stated by founder of Madadgaar National Helpline 1098 and national commissioner for children, Zia Ahmed Awan, while quoting the statistics of international organisations during a press conference at their office on Tuesday
Awan lauded, in tribute to the International Women Day which is celebrated on March 8 every year, the courage of the 8,897 women and children from across Pakistan who came forward in 2016 and fought for their rights and protection by calling, visiting or contacting Madadgaar’s helpline.
Awan also highlighted that gender-based cyber violence is on the rise in Pakistan. Children and youth are particularly at risk, he said, demanding that special courts in lower judiciary and special cells at police stations must be established to provide relief to women victims in a male chauvinist society.

Paki Parliamentarians Gang Up Against "Good Haqqani"

PPP disowns ex-ambassador Haqqani in parliament
ISLAMABAD: Members of parliament — in both houses and on both sides of the aisle — came together to denounce former Pakistani ambassador to the US, Hussain Haqqani, for what they called “maligning the country’s armed forces at the behest of anti-Pakistan elements”.
Responding to the PML-N senator, PPP’s Farhatullah Babar said Mr Haqqani was doing all this in his personal capacity. The PPP senator said that he was not a spokesperson for Mr Haqqani and would not say anything about him or his article. He said he would confine his remarks to the extent of the questions raised about Mr Zardari.Mr Babar said all visas issued to US nationals under the PPP tenure were given in accordance with the laid-down procedure involving various state agencies and no irregularity whatsoever was committed.

LIAR, LIAR PANTS ON FIRE! Confucius say Clapistan PM speakee with Folked Tongue!

Forced conversion is a crime in Islam : Pak PM Nawaz Sharif

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that forcible conversion and destruction of worship places of other religions is a crime in Islam and in Pakistan as he greeted the Hindu community on the occasion of Holi.

Addressing a function to celebrate Holi with Hindus here, he insisted that it was not anyone's job to decide who will go to hell or heaven, but to make Pakistan a heaven on earth.

In his inclusive message to minorities in Pakistan, he said "no one can force others to adopt a certain religion."

"Islam gives importance to every human being regardless of his caste, creed or religion and I say it clearly that forcing anyone to convert his religion is a crime and it is our duty to protect the worship places of the minorities in Pakistan," Sharif told the gathering.

Leading members of the Hindu community and minority lawmakers attended the function where the Prime Minister insisted that in Pakistan the fight was between terrorists and those who wanted to see the country progress and develop into an Asian tiger.

"There is no fight in Pakistan over religion. If there is any fight, it is with these terrorists and miscreants who use religion to mislead people and kill innocent people and don't want to see this country develop or prosper," he said.

Sharif admitted that in the past some miscreants had attempted to create divisions on the basis of religion but insisted that Pakistan was created where everyone was free to practice his religion and go to his worship place.

"Pakistan didn't come into existence to be against any religion. It is wrong to consider any religion inferior. I want to see a Pakistan where there are equal opportunities for every person of any religion to progress and make a good life for himself and his family. And there is peace and protection for everyone," the prime minister said.

The Hindu community has constantly complained about their people in the rural areas being forced to convert to Islam and their women being kidnapped and forcibly converted.

The premier noted that since 2013 the law and order situation had improved in Karachi and other parts of Sindh and there had been a marked decrease in cases of Hindu traders and businessmen being kidnapped for ransom.

"Pakistan has the best future in Asia but for that we need to ensure every citizen is given equal opportunities and equal rights no matter what is his religion or belief."

The Hindu community celebrated the Holi festival with fervor and enthusiasm in Karachi with functions held all over the city and Sharif said he was happy to see the celebrations in every nook and corner of Karachi without any hinderance.

Sharif greeted the gathering with 'Happy Holi'. He also referred to L K Advani when someone mentioned his love for the famous Hindi song 'Baharo phool barsao', saying a decade ago he (Sharif) could sing this song as melodiously as Mohammad Rafi.

He also said that health cards should be started in Sindh and announced 500 million rupees for the welfare of the Hindu community.

More names can crop up in PSL spot-fix saga
Suspended cricketers Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have told anti-corruption units of the ICC and the PCB that according to suspected bookmaker Yousuf Anwar four Pakistani players were working with him to spot fix matches during the PSL.
Information gathered from different sources by PTI confirm that in statements given to the ICC and the PCB officials in Dubai, Khalid told them that Yousuf and an unnamed foreigner had spoken about four other players being involved with them in the spot-fixing racket.
"The players were asked by the ACU officials which other players were involved in the racket. Khalid and Sharjeel told them they didn't know anything about other players. But when pressed Khalid told them that the bookmaker and foreigner had claimed to be in touch with four other players which didn’t include Muhammad Irfan or Shahzaib Hasan," one source said.
The source said the decision to send back Sharjeel and Khalid from Dubai was taken after their mobiles were taken from them and their kit bags searched.
"The ACU officials knew something was going on as they knew what to search for. And when they searched the kit bags they found particularly coloured batting grips given to them by Yousuf and the foreigner," the source said.
The source also confirmed that the ACU officials had gathered CCTV footage of the two meetings held between Sharjeel and Khalid with Yousuf and the foreigner.
The, source said that in the United Arab Emirates it was not legal to take anyone's mobile or search belongings without his permission and use it as evidence and perhaps the decision to send Sharjeel and Khalid back immediately from Dubai was taken to avoid any legal complications.

Talking to APP, Managing Director PTDC Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said that the exhibition will be held with an aim to highlight historical and religious Buddhist sites at Taxila, Takht Bhai and Swat.
"The significance of Buddhist civilisation remains in Pakistan can boost up tourist flow to Pakistan by proper publicity," he added. Nothing about the destruction of the Bamiyan Statues by Pakistani and Saudi sponsored Taliban thugs
I'd call it Panda policy. First you reduce the product in quqntiny and quality and then market it as a veryoung unique product as not much of it is left.
Example: chinese ate all pandas. When only handful are left they market it as rare commodity. Belgian paid millions to host a panda for few years. PM welcomed it on airport.
Bakistan: All signs of Buddhism destroyed by Bakistan backed talibans. Museum looted.Buddhists converted and now they want to sell it to tourists . Tourist will come to see the leftovr.

I was actually going to post the same link.
It is amazing how Peacefools can say something without any shame considering what happens in reality.
After a Islamic massacre, they will chant "Islam means peace onleeee" or "Terrorism has no religion onleee".

Britain To Play "Honest Broker" Between Pakistan And Afghanistan

Britain Attempts to Defuse Afghanistan's Tensions With Pakistan
ISLAMABAD —

Britain will host top officials from Afghanistan and Pakistan to discuss Afghan and regional security and try to resolve Kabul’s current political tensions with Islamabad.British National Security Advisor Mark Lyall Grant, his Afghan counterpart Haneef Atmar, and Pakistani foreign policy advisor Sartaj Aziz, will lead their respective delegations Wednesday at the trilateral meeting.
The meeting is taking place at a time when Pakistan has closed its border with landlocked Afghanistan in response to a string of deadly suicide bombings in the country last month.
Islamabad alleges anti-state militants orchestrated the violence from their hideouts on the Afghan side of the border.Last week Islamabad opened the border for only two days to allow tens of thousands of stranded Afghans to return to their country.
Afghanistan depends on Pakistani sea ports for trade, which is considered the war-torn country’s economic lifeline. The border closure has stranded thousands of containers after having left Pakistan’s southern Karachi port on the Arabian Sea. With Chah-Bahr Port coming on board very soon, Afghanistan will lessen its dependence on Pakiland !
Pakistani authorities want their Afghan counterparts to boost security on the 2,600 kilometer frontier before the traffic is restored. Islamabad has also handed over a list of 76 fugitive militants to Kabul, saying they are sheltering on Afghan soil and want their extradition. But the Afghan government in response gave Islamabad its own list of dozens of militants and 32 training centers in Pakistan, alleging they are behind years of insurgent violence in Afghanistan. Not sure, if Britain initiated this on her own, or was requested by one of the parties !

China To Station Marine Troops In Gwadar

As overseas ambitions expand, China plans 400 per cent increase to marine corps numbers, sources say
South China Morning Post
China plans to increase the size of its marine corps from about 20,000 to 100,000 personnel to protect the nation’s maritime lifelines and its growing interests overseas, military insiders and experts have said. Some members would be stationed at ports China operates in Djibouti in the Horn of Africa and Gwadar in southwest Pakistan, they said.

Probably will establish listening post there as well !
The marines were established in the 1950s in the aftermath of the civil war between China’s Communists and Chiang Kai-shek’s Nationalists who fled to Taiwan. For decades, Taiwan had the second-largest marine force in the world, after the United States, but its stature began to decline in the 1990s when Beijing began pursuing claims in the South China Sea. Rest and Recreation ( R&R ) for the troops in Karachi or Dubai

This proves my point. Once again, CPEC is a chini land grab scheme and, as part of risk management, they will do anything to protect their paki land holdings including posting additional marines. Chinis can't trust the pakjabis or the balochis.

Remember that story about the camel, an arab and his tent?
