DD is doing an excellent job. They showed Su30 acrobatics excellently. Showed Tejas brilliantly. They should be given a medal of honour.

Rather than cameraman, it's the one who is switching the views, who's responsible.

The last rambha had burners on.. wicked
Best way to dazzle everyone is a sonic boom. They never do it though..

LCA breaking the sound barrier over Rajpath would be fitting @ the occassion of Republic day and military parade !

The whole coverage should be given to some private channel on a yearly rotation basis.

DD producers have proved that they will suck for eternity

Pre event DD said they've got quite a few HD cams to cover the event.

I'm going to snail mail them to send a couple of those cams to Sriharikota to cover GSLV mk3 launch.

Just like Iron Fist, we should show some pre-recorded cockpit footage from fly past.

FWIW, I posted this on Twitter. Only thing left to do. I didn't enjoy the flypast after they missed the Tejas and probably won't watch from next year. Idiots of the highest order.
Who is in chrg of cameras 4 #RepublicDay flypast? Evry yr drp the ball -much awaited Tejas missed this yr! Well done, @DDNational @MIB_India

What I felt proud is tejas got the first display spot in fighters, the first time I felt sad and disappointed with namo and mapa, protocol gaya bhaad mein they should have stood up for a widowed daughter atleast if not for the brave son we lost

Only hope now is for some kind soul to have properly caught the Tejas on his own camera and uploads on YT. Fingers crossed.

@nirav saar, on this one issue, I think it would have been nice to break protocol and stood up. It's a small gesture, but one that goes a very long way.

Hope some of the defense journos approach DD to get the Tejas Video's. They have captured it in their cameras for sure, but the switching people did the trick of making the Tejas invisible till the end.

In DD speak even a contemporary camera would be HD, considering the 90s tech garbage they still use.. prime example is the cams used for all ISRO launches.

The absence of ballistic mijjiles was disappointing from the parade.
With every passing year, the parade is hiking the entertainment value. Need to hike the military component by adding more numbers to the equipment on display.

A dozen Arjun tanks rumbling through Rajpath would be a sight to behold. So would half a dozen Agnis.

The Republic Day Parade should ideally be used to showcase INDIA defense products to visiting dignitaries and try to sell our products in the export market

If the Arjun is supposedly heavy for Indian conditions , maybe it would be ideal in other conditions such as the Arab Gulf or South East Asian markets
The Tejas and other Indian aircraft should be amade available for exports as well

The more we compete in the export market the better our products would get for ourselves

Maybe this is a pie in the sky at the moment , but this is what we should aim for

@uddu saar, thanks. But that vid shows why I was so angry. The zoom is better in the relatively pro-cams DD uses and could have been put to great effect. Anyway, thx to whoever uploaded it.

Atleast a missile with range that reaches UAE should have been displayed.

After the event Modi walked the Rajpath instead of riding in his car

Oh please!! Protocols be damned.. If the PM can break the protocol to greet Obama and Al Nahyan at the airport, surely there's no harm in standing up for the brave martyr.

It's not nitpicking, but as a small gesture would go a long way as arshyam pointed out.

Where did I speak about protocols ?

I agree it would have been a nice gesture, but I don't quite see reason to damn them for not getting up.

Second that!! Its a mark of personal respect, not protocol!! For all his hype about being pro military, this action goes against his supposed stand..

Right.
Since the pm and rm didn't stand while the prez gave a medal to a relative of a gallant jawan, they suddenly become anti military.

You guys need to get over dikhava.

Them sitting or standing has zero bearing on how much they respect the military and what they are already doing for the military wrt their leadership roles.

Need to stop this perceived disrespect business.

Once again you completely missed the point. Nowhere do I claim that not doing so == disrespecting the armed forces.

All I pointed out was that it would have been a very good and thoughtful gesture to have stood up, while Havildar Dada's widow walked past, a namaste and say a few words of respect and condolence.

Absence of such a gesture does not imply disrespect, but a simple gesture that would be very fitting in my opinion, would have gone a long way to reinforce the belief that "we care".

Yes those kind of gestures are important and good. It's even better if they are widely seen.

Nirav ji,
Its not what they are, it what they are perceived to be. Our former PM was never corrupt but he was perceived to be by association. Perceptions are pivotal in today's world and it is extremely important for him and his team to be perceived in the right way. They can't do the good work they are doing if they are not gonna be in power next time around too, right.

Just my 2 cents..

He bowed twice. Hopefully that re-establishes his nationalist credentials. Please stop judging NaMo by these gestures.

The DD coverage lived up to its excellent reputation. The surprise is that if one watches RSTV or Lok Sabha tv, the production values are better. Hopefully before 2019, the PM will also take time out of his schedule and ensure that we do not doubt his secular and nationalistic credentials (by handing DD coverage to private channels -- NDTV would self-qualify first). Sigh.

Jai Hind to all!

Yes he did
Yes he did

thats all that bloody matters.
Now we don't need
Rawat, his Deputy, Northern Commander, Div Command, Brigade commander to go meet her.

its was important that Prez and Pm ACK her
and ACK her gift to the nation we did. The gift that is the ultimate sacrifice.

You know why I cried.... cause we bloody awarded her for her gift.
Her husband, her suhaag.

Lets go f u ck some Pakistanis
