Don't make judgement by photos. See the video. The old king could not reach up and put the chain. Trump is making sure that he doesn't bow to him so that he can put the chain. So he was just trying to reduce the height.

Of course, spinners in media do what they do the best.
Yes, watch the video. Trump genuflects. There is no two ways about it.

This is the quote that defines Trump:
https://www.theatlantic.com/internation ... am/527547/
Trump is a coward. He says wildly offensive things when the objects of his derision aren’t around, but crumples when he actually meets them.
Proof by example is in the article.

Well, the Fair Lady strikes again. Gotta give credit for guts:

"An Alexandria gym terminated the membership of white nationalist Richard Spencer last week after he was confronted by a Georgetown University professor who recognized him and lambasted him over his alt-right views.

C. Christine Fair, an associate professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, said she was working out at Old Town Sport&Health on Wednesday when she spotted Spencer, president of the white-nationalist National Policy Institute.

Fellow gym patrons had told Fair how Spencer had been seen at the gym earlier that week, she said. When she recognized him as the man working out on the gym’s second floor, she approached him. At first, she said, Spencer denied who he was.

“Are you Richard Spencer?” she asked him, describing the encounter in an online post. “No. I am not,” he replied.

“I said, ‘Of course you are, so not only are you a Nazi — you are a cowardly Nazi,’ ” Fair said in an interview, invoking a common characterization of Spencer. “I just want to say to you, I’m sick of your crap — that this country belongs [to people like you]. . . . As a woman, I find your statements to be particularly odious; moreover, I find your presence in this gym to be unacceptable, your presence in this town to be unacceptable.”

Richard Spencer is an odd fish. He seems to be into East european wimmens. Russian intel, if all the allegations are true, has outstripped even its highly aggressive predecessor, KGB

Clancy should be fired for writing mediocre spy crap and lulling the reader to complacency, when the real ones seem way more interesting and scarier to the american

A KKK style protest lead by Richard Spencer last week in Virginia:

Torch-wielding group protests Confederate statue removal
A group that included a well-known white nationalist carried torches and chanted "you will not replace us" at a weekend protest in Virginia over plans to remove a monument of a Confederate general.

The protesters on Saturday evening called on officials to halt the removal of a Gen. Robert E. Lee statue in Charlottesville and were swiftly condemned by the city's mayor, who said the event appeared to hearken "back to the days of the KKK," the Daily Progress newspaper reported ( http://bit.ly/2qEzja6 ).

Among those at the protest were Richard Spencer, a while nationalist who popularized the phrase "alt-right" and is a leading figure in a fringe movement that has been described as a mix of racism, white nationalism and populism.

There has been a lot of talk about Trump towing the line and reversal on his campaign war cries. Is it not a good thing that US keeps the arms line live to Sunni world? What is the alternative - side with Russians to bolster the Shiite crescent, Sunnis would stand no chance in hell to fight a US+Rus backed Shias. That would just bring a rapid end to the green on green body count that has been consistently mounting for the past 3 decades. The simple strategy could be to take tactical gains from oil rich double zeros while the oil lasts and keep them armed enough to carry on the infighting b/w shias and sunnis to keep a check on islamist expansion as much as possible. From a civilization perspective, it seems like a good deal.

for all the US media caterwauling and the anti-trump crowds dislike of him.. if he continues landing big $100bn deals and the US economy, whether MIC or not, picks up.. he will land another term.. perhaps his key thing will be to ignore his detractors and keep doing whatever he wants to do.. his core crowd will support him.. as long as the dollahs keep flowing. and his detractors will eventually burn out.. i see many parallels with the over the top media assault on putin etc.. wtf did it matter over the long term.

Please keep in mind that it is very possible to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on military hardware, without creating a whole lotta jobs anywhere.

I've seen several analyses that clearly demonstrate; of all the things governments spend money on to create domestic jobs, spending on military production creates the fewest jobs per dollar spent, as compared to spending on infrastructure (road building, construction, etc.), and social services (education, hospitals, health and sanitation, etc.). The 'RoI' on military expenditures is lowest, in terms of job creation.

This is indeed part of the reason why military stuffs commonly have a greater cost, and a greater profit margin attached to them, than comparable civilian wares (eg helicopters, jeeps, trucks, transport aircraft). Sure, they're manufactured to higher specs with superior materials, and that is certainly part of their cost, as is more engineering and destructive testing, etc. But on top of all these costs, there is a higher profit margin baked-in. This is to say: Saudis can spend money on the Khan's arms; without creating many jobs for a lotta 'mericans. In many instances, there will be no new net jobs created, when what's happening is the order book is just getting longer, and delivery dates are set far in future because LM and Boeing and whoever else aren't keen on hiring-up (because that'd require tooling-up which costs; because they'd rather make Saudis wait 5 years to take delivery of a littoral warship they can produce in 26 months).

Never forget, that the whole purpose of destabilizing India, forcing Indians to spend big moolah on lots of expensive military mal from foreign vendors -- THIS IS THE 'CONTAINMENT STRATEGY' for India.

Trump "selling" hardware to Saudis, is akin to the 'American Settlers' selling traps and muskets to the natives, so they can bring them more of the highly valued pelts (now-a-days oil) all for the cost of a few manufactured 'trinkets'. It's said that Manhattan island was 'bought' from the natives for a few dishes and beads. The modern equivalent is a shiny new F-15, which has a 'list price' of $X Million dollars; but probably a true internal 'cost of manufacture' far under $1 million.

Yeah, yeah, I know some will be quick to proclaim 'R&D' costs are there; but the way Americans handle this aspect (which perhaps Indians can benefit from copying); is that in the United States, much of the 'preliminary' or 'basic' research is conducted in Universities; most especially in the fields of biomedical research, especially pharma; and military technologies of various kinds.

Very often, the kernel of value behind a patent, was conjured, created or discovered in a University lab; and in the process of some bright student earning his or her PhD; they end-up working inside/alongside/ in aide of a big pharma company, or a defense major. The computer science faculties clustered around Silicon Valley in Southern California, are a parallel example for IT.

IN SUM: Trump cannot save the downtrodden American blue-collar worker with sales of defense tech to Saudis or anyone. To do this, only consumer goods can lift a country's manufacturing ecosystem high enough to bring a society forward with ever-increasing jobs numbers and higher and higher wages (as production focuses more and more on products with higher value added).

In a challenge to President Trump, California is emerging as the nation’s de facto negotiator with the world on climate agreements
The environmental ministers of Canada and Mexico went to San Francisco last month to sign a global pact — drafted largely by California — to lower planet-warming greenhouse pollution. Gov. Jerry Brown flies to China next month to meet with climate leaders there on a campaign to curb global warming. And a battery of state lawyers is preparing to battle any attempt by Washington to weaken California’s automobile pollution emission standards.
In the process, California is not only fighting to protect its legacy of sweeping environmental protection, but also holding itself out as a model to other states — and to nations — on how to fight climate change.

The 'RoI' on military expenditures is lowest, in terms of job creation.
I once saw an analysis - in Readers' Digest, so it must be 400% true - that men graduates of the U. California System had an average of 1.8 children, whereas women graduates had 1.7. Therefore, Men Have More Children Than Women.

Aerospace/defence jobs typically bring more money to the worker, because they employ people with specialized skills who can also get a security clearance. Direct employment is not as large in numbers as putting people to work breaking rocks into rubble for roadwork (I still remember the photos of old women doing that as part of Bihar Famine Relief) or flipping burgers, but there is a concept called turnover. Aerospace jobs typically generate a factor of 3 in economic turnover because the employees are better educated, shop for better products, get their children into all sorts of activities that employ more people (piano teachers, violin teachers, karate teachers, soccer coaches..).

The high profit margins are because not many can cross the high threshold to compete- even if they could get over the ITAR type obstacles. Also because these are highly innovative products.

***BUYING*** expensive weapons does not generate jobs except for the turnover of the bribes and black money - and eventually the millions of hours spent in Investigative Journalism, TV talking heads, Blue Ribbon Judicial Panels, etc etc. So yes, war machine-building is great for the economy. Besides, where do "consumer products" come from, other than from military programs?

An interesting development. Instead of dismissing it, we should exploit it...play both sides and divide. Although the state of Kalipurnia and its research institutions like the University of Kalipurnia - Barkat Ali are very "far left", they could be useful. We don't necessarily have to replicate what Kanadda and Mexico are doing.

Beloveds, I am by now totally confused on this "Russia Interfered In Erections" cacophony. Interfered in what way? Did Putin vote? Apparently not. Were voting machines messed up? That was investigated and debunked. The only "interference" is that the Russians **MAY*** have had something to do with REVEALING the treason committed by certain candidates. IOW the American voter should be grateful to the Russians for revealing what the crooks were trying to conceal. How is this "interference"?

Then again, all pointers are that the crookedness was revealed by insiders, nothing to do with Russians. The CNN headlines are blatantly political propaganda. Read inside the story and its' always someone is GOING to say this here or there... and then you wonder: SO WHAT?

Like "Russians talked to people in the Trump campaign". So what? Maybe they wanted to hire some of Trump's bimbos. Or buy one of his buildings. See this HUGE CBS headline:
Former CIA chief says there were contacts between Russia and Trump aides
So what? I would expect all nations to try and establish rapport with the campaigns of all the leading candidates. Hopefully there were also contacts between India and Trump aides; Mongolia and Trump aides, China and Trump aides, does CBS want candidates for POTUS to be TOTALLY clueless about other countries? This is a really strange new standard for politics.

Even in India it is standard practice for visiting heads of state, let alone ambassador etc, to go talk to the leading candidates for elections. Is this automatically treason? Since when?

State law can not supersede federal law and they have NO authority to negotiate international treaties. If governor Moon Beam wants to fly around on state taxpayer dollar, he can do so. National guard will be called in and the governor will have to relent like George Wallace did in 1963 or be arrested.

So isn't this illegal, treasonous contact between a US governor and foreign potentates? SPECIAL PROSECUTOR!!!! :(( :((
Caifornians have a long history of thinking they know better than the elected representatives of the United States and their appointees. Like Jane Fonda going to Hanoi during the Vietnam War to {tell them that downed POW airmen were traitors and should be tortured to death.} (My elephantine interpretation, but far less BS than the interpretations that CNN/CBS are putting on contacts between Russians and Flynn/ Manafort etc. )

When it comes to environmental laws and policies, states have lot of maneuvering room. Apparently When the state thinks federal laws are weak it can enforce its own stricter standards, and the federal administrator can't do anything about it etc.

^^^Err. That has to do with pollution and not the gobbledygook of "climate science". Having more PPM of carbon does not make pollution. Moon beam can do whatever the **** he wants by running around the world on a private jet. Kalifornia can pass laws that violate the laws of thermodynamics. If Moon beam takes it too far, he will be met in the supreme court that has a majority of conservative judges. Moon beam will get b*tch slapped.
