Islamabad’s Catch-22 moment

Long Article, but, here is the “Pertinent Part” :

As far as Qatar is concerned, both India and Pakistan have military personnel stationed in Doha engaged in training. In 2008-2009, India had even signed a deal with Qatar that was not made public but which some believe was a defense agreement. At that time, who could have thought of a real threat to Qatar. Also, India has cooperation with Saudi Arabia denoted by the fact that Riyadh worked with it to hand over a crucial terrorist in 2012 and Narendra Modi visited the Kingdom in 2016. However, the fact that India is not an Islamic state secures it from the kind of pressures that Pakistan faces.

Pakistan debt servicing cost balloons to Rs15 trillion

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has sought approval of National Assembly to borrow over Rs15 trillion in new financial year to service its maturing public debt, which will be the highest ever borrowing and 44 per cent more than the outgoing year, underscoring Pakistan’s heavy indebtedness.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday placed various demands before National Assembly for borrowing the huge sum amid his desperate efforts to downplay the country’s total debt and its implications for the economy. The loans will be obtained during the fiscal year 2017-18, starting from July 1.

Independent economists have been warning about a ‘debt trap’ but all these warning are falling on deaf ears.

Over Rs15 trillion worth demands were placed before the National Assembly under Article 82 (I) of the Constitution as the Charged Expenditures. In case of ‘Charged Expenditure’, the National Assembly can only debate but cannot veto the spending bill.

The Rs15 trillion debt servicing related spending bill is Rs4.6 trillion or 44 per cent higher than the borrowing in the outgoing fiscal year.

Except for roughly Rs1.4 trillion that will be part of the federal budget, the rest of the amounts will not be booked in the budget and will be directly borrowed from domestic and foreign markets to repay and service the loans obtained in the past.

As against Rs8.38 trillion borrowing in the outgoing fiscal year, the finance minister sought Rs13.16 trillion for repayment of the domestic debt in the next fiscal year, which is over 57 per cent more than the previous year. The finance minister has placed another demand for Rs1.23 trillion to service the domestic debt.

For the next fiscal year 2017-18, the federal government has projected its budget deficit at Rs1.826 trillion, which is equivalent to 4.7 per cent of Gross Domestic Product. The federal government will bridge this gap by borrowing Rs968 billion from the domestic market, Rs511 billion from foreign countries and Rs347 billion as provincial cash surpluses.

To repay the foreign loans, the Finance Minister has sought Rs286 billion in the new fiscal year, which will be obtained from abroad. However, their interest cost will be booked in the budget. The minister has sought another Rs132 billion to pay interest on the foreign loans.

In addition to that, the finance minister has placed Rs39.7 billion demand before the National Assembly to repay the short-term foreign loans.

Paki Echendee Back To Normal

Paresh Rawal eats his words, deletes his tweet about Pakistan team coming back home

Just minutes after Pakistan won match against England and finally reached Champions Trophy final, Indian actor Paresh Rawal had to delete his tweet that predicted ouster of Pakistani cricket team.Apparently embarrassed, the actor was forced to delete the tweet after the twitteratis began trolling him for predicting the team’s defeat incorrectly. Rawal had sarcastically remarked that Pakistan’s cricket team would have to leave for Lahore airport on June 13. This is a good omen for Pakistan. This good news will surely have a "multiplier effect" on their Echendee ( so dear to them !) . They may win the Championship trophy, maybe even wrest Kashmir from "Hindu India"

Islam - Pasand Son-In-Law Of Ganja Sharif Also Summoned By So-Called JIT

Panama Case: JIT summons Capt. (retd) Safdar to appear on June 24, 2017

ISLAMABAD – The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the offshore holdings of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children has summoned his son-in-law, Capt. (retd) Safdar, to appear before it on June 24 (Saturday) at 11: AM, GEO News reported here on Wednesday night.Capt. (retd) Safdar will appear before the six-member JIT, headed by Federal Investigation Agency’s Additional Director Wajid Zia, eight days after the prime minister’s scheduled appearance.Mr. Safdar has been asked to bring along with him relevant record/documents/material related to the Panama Papers case.

When are the female members of the extended Sharif Family ( Maryam, Kulsoom, and the multiple wives of Shahbaz !) expected to appear for the "probe" . Or are they waiting for the Ehteram -e-ramzan month to be over , in keeping with the Islamic tradition of the "modesty of the female". Would the females be comfortable in front of the "all male team" or accompanied by their "male members" as tradition demands

Peshawar university professor arrested for drugs, arms possession

PESHAWAR – An "assistant professor" at a university in Peshawar was arrested on Tuesday and sent to jail on judicial remand after police recovered drugs and weapons from his vehicle, police sources said.Police said they had asked Bashir, a professor at Islamia College Peshawar, to pull over at a checkpost in Regi Model Town. After searching his vehicle, they recovered 20 grams of ‘ice’ and another 150g of hash. His lawyer should argue that what he does outside the university hours is his own business and no one else's . It is a gross violation of his privacy !
Two pistols and magazines were also recovered from Bashir’s car, police added.Bashir was detained at Regi Model Town police station and a First Information Report was registered against him.Police said investigations are underway to determine what the professor intended to do with the drugs and whether or not the pistols recovered were licensed. Maybe, he is just making some extra money, ( asst. professors do not make much !) transporting the merchandise, belonging to a VVIP

Another Honour Killing In The Holy Month Of Ramzan.

Father, brother kill teenage girl for honour in Kohat

KOHAT – A man with the help of his son allegedly killed his 17-year-old daughter for honour for supposedly having relations with a boy in Sorgul area.As per reports, relatives of the teenage girl on Monday informed the local police about the dead body of the victim lying in the house.Later, the police shifted the body to a hospital where doctors confirmed that she had been strangled to death. The deceased’s father and brother are still at large after the incident. Initial reports suggested that the girl had an alleged relationship with a boy that was believed to be the motive for the killing.
The police were carrying out raids to arrest the suspects after registering a case on the complaint of victim’s grandfather. The father- son duo have probably escaped to the nearby tribal areas, where they may have been sheltered by someone. This is serious business in the conservative Pathan society. The girl may have already been "booked" for marriage . Question of Izaat for the family, hence the killing !

Pakistan boasts about its history, but with a photo of Red Fort - Saibal Dasgupta, ToI
History and politics meshed together at an event organised by the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation to welcome two new members, India and Pakistan. Both India and Pakistan claimed the legacy of Shah Jahan in exhibits put up at the event. Another SCO member, Kazakhstan, claimed legacy of Timur (Tamerlane), regarded as an ancestor of the Mughals. Senior officials from all eight SCO countries, including China, Russia and four Central Asian states, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, attended the event.

Presenting a picture of Delhi's Red Fort with the Indian flag fluttering above it, the Pakistani side claimed it was a fort in Shalamar Gardens in Lahore. "These are masterpieces from the time of the brilliant Mughal civilisation, which reached its height during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan," it went on to say.

The exhibit mentioned elegant marble palaces and ornamental ponds within the fort.
The mention of Mughals at the SCO event is interesting because of Babar, the first Mughal ruler, came from Central Asia, which is strongly represented in the Eurasian club of nations.

The Indian exhibit displayed the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort of Agra while saying, "An immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, the Taj Mahal, is the jewel of Muslim art in India, and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage." Kazakhstan put up an exhibit of a mausoleum saying, "The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, in the town of Yasi, now Turkestan, was built at the time of Timur (Tamerlane) from 1389 to 1405.

"In the partly unfinished building, Persian master builders experimented with architectural and structural solutions later used in the construction of Samarkand, the capital of Timurid Empire." Pakistan also exhibited a picture on the ruins of Moenjodaro.

Any Islamic heritage in India rightfully belongs to Pakistan as it is Pakistan, the only nation created on the basis of Islam, is the sole inheritor. At least, that is what it has been dubiously and fraudulently claiming. Isn't the root cause of this neurotic Pakistani behaviour an yearning to regain the lost glory of the Islamic empires which ruled portions of India for nearly 800 years, thus anointing themselves as the inheritors of the Mughal and other Islamic pre-Mughal legacy? This is exemplified by the frequent talk of flying Pakistani flag on the ramparts of New Delhi's Red Fort, the residence of the Mughal emperors.

It was on 16th August 1947 that the Indian Flag was raised over the Red Fort. Commenting on that, DAWN said that the action by Nehru had caused considerable agitation among the Muslims. "It would have been far more graceful of the Nehru government if they had respected deeply the sentiments and desisted from hoisting their flag on this historical monument in such a haste. We trust that there would be no petty-minded jubilation by the Hindus under the mistaken impression that by hoisting the flag on the seat of power of ancient Muslim kings, they have somehow stretched a spiteful hand back into the historic past and dimmed the imperishable glory of Muslim rule". They consider themselves as the rightful inheritors of the Peacock throne of the Mughal emperors. One contributor to such a thinking is perhaps the British East India Company which projected itself as ruling on behalf of the Mughals until the British Crown directly took over ruling India after the 1857 events. This also led to Muslim League's demand that India should be handed over to it because the British annexed it from Muslim rulers. However, history is different. Within 32 years after the cruel Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb’s death (c. 1707), the Taimurid Empire was disintegrated by another fierce Muslim ruler from Persia, Nadir Shah, who defeated the then Mughal Emperor, Muhammad Shah Rangila, and took away the Peacock Throne and the Kohinoor Diamond and annexed Afghanistan. The Sikhs who were already a rising power soon captured the Punjab when Maharaja Ranjit Singh captured Lahore in c. 1799. The Marathas had already defeated the Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb in the series of Deccan Wars (fought between c. 1680 and 1707) in which Aurangazeb just escaped capture and death.

Unfortunately, most of the art forms of the Indian subcontinent have the Hindu or Buddhist heritage and were thus anathema in the Land of the Pure. For this very same reason, such historic civilizational sites as Harappa, Moen-jo-Daro, Taxila have been in a state of total neglect. Just one picture on Moenjo-Daro is akin to Pakistan duplicitously claiming that minorities have equal rights in Pakistan based on what Jinnah vaguely said once upon a time (and for which no proof exists as well).

I am surprised noone posted this:

Are you with us or against us: Saudi

Pakistan has told Saudi Arabia it will not take sides in the brewing diplomatic crisis in the Middle East after Riyadh asked Islamabad “are you with us or with Qatar”.

The Saudi demand for Pakistan to take a clear position on Qatar came during a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, diplomatic sources told The Express Tribune.

Animal Rights Activists And Organizations Should Take Note !

Lion on Karachi's streets causes social media furore, owner and pet taken into custody

A video circulating on social media showing a lion being transported in Karachi's Karimabad area in the back of a pickup truck prompted police to make an arrest, taking the lion and its owner into custody after concerns were raised about the safety of citizens in the metropolis. The video, which went viral Wednesday night, shows curious bystanders circling the pickup to get a better look at the lion, which hangs out over the side of the pick, tongue lolling out of its mouth. A rickshaw draws up to the pickup, hesitant to go any further, before stopping right in front of the lion.So openly flaunting the law in this law less mega-city !
Passengers inside the car the video was shot in can be heard questioning the sense behind transporting a large wild cat in such a manner. "What will they do if something happens in the city?" asks a woman.Sindh Interior Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal took notice of the issue after the video made the rounds on social media and directed police to take appropriate action.
. The Sind Minister can only "take notice" and would not be able to do anything else . If past news reports are to be believed, no less than the Prime Minister of Pakistan - Nawaz Sharif - has been known to keep exotic, endangered animals and birds- in his private zoo- at his large estate in Raiwind near La-Whore. ( Like the medieval kings of old times !)
Police arrested Saqlain, the lion's owner, from FB Area on Wednesday night and also took the lion into custody, ...
Speaking to the media, Saqlain claimed he had been taking the lion to a doctor in the Defence area. Since the lion was unwell, it was seated in the back of the pickup and was being transported back to its home when the video was shot, he said. He added that he possessed the required ownership documents of the lion. The owner of the animal, from his reaction, does not seem to be at all concerned at his medieval antics of keeping a wild animal as a pet ! Just recently, through the courtesy of International Organizations a Thailand home was found for a neglected elephant in Isloo Zoo. It all boils down to what is drilled into your head , when you are young . In Malsi, there is no concept of taking care ( respect ) of animals , birds and other forms of non-human life. So this is all natural to Pakis !!!

Here is a link to an Article on “Motherhood” by Breast Feeding i.e. a “Wet Nurse”
Islam Question and Answer

It is the difference of “Breast Fed Milk” i.e. “Doodh Ka Anter”.

Now you can think of the possibilities between a Male and Female Twin where the Male is Breast Fed by the Mother and the Female Child being “Breast Fed” by a Wet Nurse as the Wet Nurse is considered to be the Female Child’s Mother.

China reads the "Riot Act" to its "Land of the Pure and Home of the Terrorist" Munna!

SCO charter prohibits India, Pakistan to raise bilateral issues: China

BEIJING: Welcoming India and Pakistan into the SCO, China today dismissed apprehensions that their differences could disrupt the unity of the grouping saying its charter strictly prohibits members to bring their bilateral hostility into the organisation.

"As a founding member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), we are very happy about the membership of India and Pakistan," China's Assistant Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou said at a ceremony at the SCO headquarters here to formally admit the two nations as new members of the grouping.

China, a dominant member of the now eight-member group, hosts the headquarters of the organisation.

The SCO headquarters held a ceremony today to hoist the flags of India and Pakistan.

Indian Ambassador to China Vijay Gokhale and his Pakistan counterpart Masood Khalid attended the ceremony which included jointly beating a huge SCO cooperation drum heralding the admission of their respective countries into the grouping.

India and Pakistan were formally admitted as members at Kazakhstan capital Astana at the SCO summit held on June 8-9.

China, Russia and Central Asian states of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan besides India and Pakistan are the members of the grouping. Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia are the observers.

China takes over the rotating Presidency of the group this year from Kazakhstan.

Kong, who attended the ceremony, in a brief chat with reporters allayed apprehensions aired by the state-run Chinese media that entry of India and Pakistan could disrupt the unity of SCO.

"In the charter of the SCO there is a clause that the hostility between the bilateral relations should not be brought to the organisation. I believe both the countries will abide by the charter of the organisation," he said.

"SCO has its own rules of procedures. We hope that those rules can be abided by all member states," he said, adding that India-Pakistan differences should not be exaggerated.

"Between our member states our interests far outweigh our differences. So, we should not exaggerate the differences between the countries as it is not good for the organisation and cooperation between member states. After becoming members, we all become members of the big family," he said.

China believes the entry of India and Pakistan "will guarantee very good cooperation in the organisation," he said.

"Both countries are important in the region and China, Pakistan and India are in similar stage of development. We face similar challenges. Therefore, we hope that through this organisation that we can work together to overcome these challenges," he said.

Also, he said, China has certain expectations of India's role in the SCO. "We have expectation for the role of India in this organisation. We hope that the Indian side will give attention to its membership in this organisation and pay attention to it."

In his interaction with media, Gokhale also said SCO is important for India as it consist of China, Russia and Central Asian states.

Asked about how SCO can help India and Pakistan to resolve their differences, he said both the countries have bilateral channels.

"We are having number of bilateral channels. I see this as another opportunity and a platform. It helps because it enhances number of points of contacts. I think it is a good day for both the countries," he said.

For his part, Khalid said "it is important that India and Pakistan have joined the region."

"We are part of the region. As far as Pakistan is concerned we will make all possible efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and work together as active partners within the SCO to pursue common objectives of development, peace and security. I think historic day that way," he told PTI.

About the utility of SCO to address contentious issues between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan's envoy said, "I hope so. It provides a multilateral platform where both of our countries will be there. They will be represented. There will be opportunities for interaction."

This is what Pakis have been fighting for since 1947. It is all above re-instating the Mughal Empire which they feel has been taken from their hand by Marathas and the British.

This the reason why they are obessed with Red Fort and "stragethic depth" in Afghanistan, missiles named after Afghans.

The reason why they constantly attack Bombay compared to Delhi.

They are fighting the Marathas and Bombay is the modern day capital of the Maratha Empire, while Delhi is their own! Notice how they dont include part of Southern India ,East India & Bangladesh in their G-e-H plans!

The obsession to re-instate Mughal Empire from Kabul to entry to South India!

"Fashionable" Beards In Balochistan Back In The News !

Bearded in Balochistan

alochistan is back in the news. Over beards. Or rather their ‘fashionable’ styling. Two of the province’s districts — Omraha and Kharan — have taken the lead, banning the practice before backtracking. Sort of.The story goes something like this. The authorities issued the directive at the behest of a cleric. The contention, according to the latter, was that barbers were styling beards. This, the cleric believed, was against Islamic norms. Ultimately, the written order was withdrawn on the grounds that there is no existing law covering the policing of men and their beards. Nonetheless, the Kharan assistant commissioner admitted that barbers were verbally instructed to refrain from the practice. Yet we must ask: if there is no specific law — on what grounds was this communicated? Sadly, we already know the answer.
We have been here before. Many times. There was the Enlightened Moderation era when the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) were elected to the NWFP assembly, while forming a coalition government in Balochistan. Back then, this democratically elected six-party religious alliance acted as a de facto vice and virtue faction, banning, amongst other things, men from wearing western clothing. There’s nothing quite like an equal offender. Of course, at the time the country was reeling from the US military misadventure next door in Afghanistan meaning that anti-American sentiment was running high and which, to a large extent, explained the MMA electoral wins. Fast-forward just a few years and we saw the Taliban’s draconian control of Swat, which did its best to put an end to girls going to school. Those who dared to contravene the ‘orders’ saw their schools blown up. Or else found themselves with a near fatal bullet to the head.
Presently, the verbal ban on beards in Balochistan represents the same side of the very same coin. It simply underscores how Pakistan continues to battle the religious right from all sides. Whether from a democratically elected government or an extremist group that makes a mockery of the government’s writ or, indeed, a democratic set-up that is afraid of the consequences of not kowtowing to the mullahs in the face of ISIS gains in the province. The reason that the beards are important is this: there is nothing perhaps more alarming than when the state retreats over the religious right’s policing of men and their bodies. For it suggests that the battle is almost lost. All we can do is count on our men in khaki to keep good on their promise of robbing the Islamic State of gaining any foothold whatsoever in Balochistan.*

This Paki thing about the red fort is 400% fake.
Beggers have this sort of megalomania, that they are the direct descendents of some king, and that they have been unrightfully denied their due, and that some day, they will live like kings.
Surely everyone has encountered people like this

Watch the Paki TV hosts & their guests, every last one of them will trace their ancestry to some Rajput or mughal nawab from lucknow. I am not kidding, watch their TV shows, and note the answer when the question of ancestry or origin comes up.

The sad truth for the Pakis is that beggers who live by the side of the road, will most likely lead a life of squalor and die there. Unless of course, they decide to work hard and honest, shed false pretences, and fake megalomania. Pakis won't do that.

They have to liberate Kashmeer, liberate Palestine, attack india and israel, solve the bosnia problem and now mediate in the middle east. Flying a flag over the Red fort is one of those hallucinations! The ISI and the LeT even got some poor Paki terrorist suckers killed over this.

I was sexually abused by my older brother as a young girl. I don't know how to cope with that memory. (self.pakistan)
submitted 11 hours ago by throwawayxcvv

I was too young and didn't realize what was going on. He lured me in with treats and showing me games on his laptop, and he would make me sit on his lap and grope and fondle me inappropriately. It made me uncomfortable at the time but I didn't quite understand what was happening so I didn't fight back as I should have, for my dignity. He pressured me not to tell my parents, and for some reason, I submissively obeyed. He was around 11 or 12 years old, five years older than me. Because he was young and also a kid is part of the reason why I overlooked this as not being that big of a deal. But now when I think about it as I am older and able to understand the situation with more clarity, it brings me great stress and agony and humiliation and disgust whenever I think about it.I don't know what to do. I don't know what I would gain if I were to tell my parents now. He is older and completely changed as a person. He is well mannered now, a responsible adult, and kind and respectful to me. And internally I have forgiven him, even though he never had the courage to face me and apologize, but whenever I get flashbacks about those incidents, it brings me immense pain, and I don't know what to do or what to make of that.
Sad but true story above !. Instead of talking about Islam 24/7 like a" pious pumpkin", they should clean their own act ! Every society has these kind of problems. But at least they are discussed and attempts are made by the government to address the issue . Not in Pakistan. They are "swept under the carpet

Debt Management ( By The Stroke Of A Pen ) Paki Style

Govt coins new term for public debt
The Express Tribune > Business

ISLAMABAD:
In violation of the Supreme Court’s judgment that bars legislation without the federal cabinet’s approval, the government has quietly amended the definition of public debt through the Finance Act 2017 that will immediately understate the debt by a whopping Rs2 trillion. This is another example where Paki Aam Abduls believe that "Democracy" and "Rule Of Law" prevails in theLand Lund Of The Pure !
It is the second change in the definition of public debt during the last one year after the finance ministry has miserably failed to curtail the debt and is now applying ‘window-dressing tactics’ instead. I do not think that the Foreign Lenders and the Rating Agencies are going to be fooled by such "book-keeping gimmicks" . IMO, it is strictly meant for "domestic consumption". And the orders to "manipulate the government books" must have come from the very top- the London trained Finance Minister of Pakistan and the Chief Launderer Of Ganja Sharif !
In June last year, the government had introduced sweeping changes to the Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Limitation (FRDL) Act of 2005 ( Orwell - 1984  ) –the most significant among them being the change in the definition of total public debt.
According to a new clause introduced lately in the Finance Act that the National Assembly passed on Tuesday, [b]“total debt of the government is public debt less accumulated deposits of the federal and provincial governments with the banking system”.
How many Paki college degree legislators are educated enough to understand the implication of the new definition !

Eminent lawyer and tax expert Dr Ikramul Haq has decided to challenge the latest amendment to the FRDL Act in the apex court.
“The new amendment to the FRDL Act is in violation of the Constitution and the Supreme Court’s August last year judgment,” said Dr Haq while talking to The Express Tribune.
The federal government has been contracting very expensive loans since it came to power four years ago. Under the original 2005 FRDL law, which was subsequently amended last year, public debt should not be more than 60% of the Gross Domestic Product.
Through an amendment in June last year, the government got changed this clause to “public debt to 60% of GDP by end of June 2019”, clearly moving the goalpost. Not to worry with these technicalities. Once the CPEC plan is implemented, the "problem" would not be of the GOP . The Chinese Govt will take care of this
Gross Public Debt as of March 2017 is still 65.5% of the GDP or Rs20.9 trillion. Dar has stopped quoting the figure in his speeches ( the master-mind behind the con !) and instead citing net public debt, which is roughly Rs2 trillion less than the actual public debt. However, both these figures have been given in the Economic Survey of Pakistan 2016-17.
In order to give legal cover to his new terminology, Dar ( the con-man again !) got the law amended again. “The Public Debt-to-GDP ratio was 60.2% of the GDP in June 2013 that has been brought down to 59.3% of the GDP [Rs18.9 trillion] by March 2017,” claimed the finance minister before the National Assembly on Tuesday
According to the original debt definition under the 2005 law, “total public debt is a sum of total outstanding borrowings”. Last year, it got changed to “total public debt means the debt of the government serviced out of the Consolidated Fund and debts owed to the International Monetary Fund”. This excluded the public debt contracted by public sector enterprises and publically guaranteed debt. Hope that the international lending agencies do not fall for this con game !

India, Russia reject Pakistan claims of Vladimir Putin's offer to mediate

NEW DELHI: Pakistan on Thursday embarrassed itself as it made claims of a non-existent Russian offer to mediate between New Delhi and Islamabad.

It all started with a report in the Pakistan media, which was followed by Pakistan foreign office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria officially welcoming the Russian "offer" of mediation. According to them, the "offer" was part of the conversation between Nawaz Sharif and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Astana on the sidelines of the SCO summit.

Pakistan foreign office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria during a weekly media briefing said, "Pakistan welcomes Russia's attention and intention to play a role in this long-standing issue on the UNSC agenda."

However, both India and Russia denied that Putin made any such offer.

Responding to questions, MEA spokesperson Gopal Baglay said, "No offer of mediation between New Delhi and Islamabad was made by Russia to India. It is my understanding that Russia is very well aware of India's consistent position to address all outstanding issues with Pakistan bilaterally in an environment free of terrorism and violence."

Officials in the Russian embassy in New Delhi also rejected the reports and said it was Pakistan's "wishful thinking".

"According to our information, this aspect was not discussed at the meeting in Astana and no statement in this regard was ever made by President Putin," a Russian official said.

Pakistan attempted to portray this as a sign of Russia changing its stance vis-a-vis this region, particularly showing more sensitivity towards Pakistan.

It has not been an easy month for Pakistan. First, Nawaz Sharif travelled to Riyadh to meet US president Donald Trump. However, Trump refused to meet him. While in Astana, Sharif suffered the ignominy of not getting a bilateral with Pakistan's chief benefactor, Chinese president Xi Jinping.

Pakistan has been pushing India and all its other interlocutors to get India to restart bilateral dialogues. India has so far refused.

Did u miss this?
On Saturday, 30-year-old Taimoor Raza became the first person to receive a death sentence in a Pakistan anti-terrorism court for "using derogatory remarks ... in respect of the Holy Prophet" on social media.
Amnesty International's Pakistan campaigner, Nadia Rahman, said in a statement the conviction set a "dangerous precedent."

"No one one should be hauled before an anti-terrorism court or any other court solely for peacefully exercising their rights to freedom of expression and freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief online," she said.

The real sign that relations with Russia will improve, is when Putin finally decides to oblige the Pakis and make a visit there. So far this has not happened in spite of so many invitations . I do not think that this is on his "bucket list" . Just like the "mediation thing", it is Paki wishful thinking or "khayali pulao" as they say it over here .! It is not easy for Russia to "forget" Pakistan's devious role during and before the Afghan invasion, like ISI hit and run operations after crossing the Amu Darya, to provoke the Soviets. And of course, the famous Gary Power U2 flight from the so-called secret air base near Peshawar

One Piece Of Good News For Pakistanis In This "Holy Month Of Ramzan"

Japan becomes major market for Pakistani Rickshaws ( yet to be independently confirmed  )
These are the Pakistani rickshaws that Japanese have become fond of.For years, Pakistan has been importing automobiles from Japan. Japanese car manufacturers like Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, and Nisan have become household names, not just in Pakistan but across the world. But do you know how famous Pakistani rickshaws are in Japan? Pakistan has been exporting its famous Rickshaws to the Japanese markets.According to Paki Holic, the colourful and high-quality rickshaws are manufactured and exported by Sazgar Engineering, a local company. Not clear if it is "import parts, engine, assemble and paint job" or indigenously manufactured from A to Z.
Now you will probably wonder why a country like Japan with strong industrial base and a thriving automobile industry would import Pakistani rickshaws. Japanese have been importing our local vehicle to be used for fun and leisure purposes, unlike us.
Pakistan's traditional, colourful truck and vehicle art is famous worldwide. ( so, is Paki IT :D ) The locally manufactured rickshaws are famous in Japan for the similar appeal.
The small, colourful vehicle can prove useful for commuting in narrow streets of the country. Japanese have been using Rickshaws for travelling short distances.

PS: One of the driver is striking a "namaste" pose for the camera! Quite possible that the culturally naive Japanese may have mistook the import country !

Pakistan "In Bed" With Italy To Stop India's Entry In UN Security Council !

Pakistan pushes for UNSC reform on democratic principles

NEW YORK: Pakistan on Tuesday criticised the aspirants for permanent seats in an expanded United Nations Security Council — India, Brazil, Germany and Japan — for opposing reform of the 15-member body guided by the principles of democracy.Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN Maleeha Lodhi said in response to a document prepared by the co-chairs of the intergovernmental negotiations (IGN) which identified democracy and representativeness as shared principles of the UN membership that needs to be taken into consideration in reform of the SC. Pakistan has a "permanent policy" of opposing India anywhere, anytime - no ifs and buts
On the concluding day of the IGN process that has been in progress for the past several months, Lodhi responded to the Indian Permanent Representative’s earlier assertions which questioned the centrality of these universal principles for reform of the Security Council.“I have to say, the objection to this sentence has left us dumbfounded,” asserted Lodhi saying that the “principles of democracy and representativeness shall also be taken into consideration”.“This is the first time, we are hearing someone speak against the notion of democracy and representativeness in the august chambers of the United Nations,” she said referring to the G-4′s objections.Lodhi asked whether reform of the Security Council is not fundamentally about equitable representation on the council. “We agree on practicing democracy at home ( Is Pakistan practicing democracy at home ?) but some countries here argue that it should not be practiced at the UN,” she exclaimed.
Progress towards restructuring the Security Council remains blocked as India and its allies known as the Group of Four — push for permanent seats while Italy/Pakistan-led Uniting for Consensus (UfC) group firmly oppose any additional permanent members. As a compromise, UfC has proposed a new category of members — not permanent members – with longer duration and a possibility to get re-elected once in an effort to democratise the SC.The Security Council is currently composed of five permanent members — Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States — and ten non-permanent members that are elected in groups of five for two-year terms. In the IGN this week, Italy, on behalf of the UfC, reiterated call for expansion of the Security Council only in the non-permanent seats, which was echoed by Pakistan.
Sooner or later India will take a permanent seat at the UN Security Council, along with other deserving members ( Brazil, Germany, Japan ) to reflect world reality . And when (not if) that happens, it is going to be a nightmare scenario for Pakistan

12 Karachi central jail staffers arrested after Lashkar-i-Jhangvi militants' escape

Police have arrested 12 jail staffers, including a superintendent and deputy superintendent of Karachi's central prison
Under-trial prisoners, Shaikh Muhammad Mumtaz alias Firoon and Muhammad Ahmed Khan alias Muna had escaped from the judicial complex
the arrested officers said they had not "realised" that the prisoners had escaped for a whole day, only to find them "missing" on Wednesday when the convicts were to be presented before the court
An initial investigation by the police’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) team revealed that the prisoners could not have broken through the prison grills in one day.
their possible connivance is still being probed
Abbasi also noted that one of the escaped militants had shaved his beard before fleeing the prison.

So, no one is probing how that inmate got hold of a razor in the jail?

For decades the city of Peshawar has faced the threat of militants, due to its status as a front line for the ongoing war on terror as well as its proximity to the restless tribal areas and the Pak-Afghan border.

Falijee Ji :
They will stop transit facilities to Indian Imports and Exports to Afghanistan amd the CARs. This is the reason India should NEVER, BUT NEVER AGREE to take part in CPEC or dream of using Clapistan for Transit to Afghanistan and the Central Asian Republics. G O I must stress this point in their relationship and discussions with the USA, Trump et al and help India to trade via Cha Bahar. It must be stressed that the Clapistani Army-ISI-Terrorists Combine had stopped access to the USA & NATO Convoys with Supplies, Arms and Ammunition bound for the NATO Troops in Afghanistan as well as looted the supplies in Pakistan including Fuel Tankers which were Hijacked and many of them set on Fire.

ISI uses Pakistan soil for terror acts in Afghanistan: Muhajir Congress

WASHINGTON: The ISI is using Pakistani soil to plot terror attacks in Afghanistan and the "notorious" spy agency sponsors terror outfits as "proxies" to increase its "strategic depth" against India, according to the World Muhajir Congress. The Muhajir (refugees from India) Congress in a letter to President Ashraf Ghani extended its support to the Afghanistan government in its fight against terrorism. Looks like it is affiliated with Altaf's MQM !
"It is now a well-established fact that Pakistani soil is being used for terrorist attacks not only in Afghanistan but also in other countries," the Congress said. "Reports from all major news organisations and think tanks suggest that the Haqqani network, factions of Taliban, ISIS and al-Qaeda are all operating from save havens in Pakistan under the protection of Pakistani Army and its notorious intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)," it said.
Noting that there are about 50 million Muhajirs (Urdu speaking immigrants from India) living in Karachi, Hyderabad and other areas of urban Sindh, the letter said these educated and progressive-minded people extend their unconditional support to the US, NATO and the Afghanistan government in their efforts to combat and eradicate religious extremism and terrorism from the region. "World Muhajir Congress firmly stands with you and the Afghan Government in its war against religious extremism in Afghanistan and in Pakistan and for the development, peace, security and prosperity in both countries," it said.
"It is evident that Pakistani military establishment and ISI do not see Afghanistan as a respectable neighbouring country. Instead, they see it in the context of regional security and use their sponsored terrorist outfits as 'proxies' to increase their 'strategic depth' against India," the World Muhajir Congress alleged."Under the blatant and unashamed patronage of Pakistan Army and ISI, religious and sectarian terrorist outfits are making Karachi as their operational hub.
This is an alarming trend and World Muhajir Congress will continue to highlight this serious issue at every appropriate international forum," it said.Muhajir is an Arabic-origin term used in Pakistan to describe Muslim immigrants, of multi-ethnic origin, and their descendants, who migrated from India to Pakistan after the Partition. It will be interesting to know the re-action of the Pakistan Embassy in DC or the Paki Govt to this meeting . As usual the participants and the Mujahir Congress will be labelled as "Indian Agents"
