Retired Senator Warns "Deep State". Growing International Isolation And Efforts To Make Ganja Sharif Irrelevant In Paki Politics !

The gathering clouds
Afrasiab Khattak
Uncertainty about the future of constitutional system is growing as the current civilian setup appears to be losing control over both the external and internal dimensions of the governance in Pakistan. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the newly installed Prime Minister who seemed to be quite serious in doing not only the basics in institutional functioning but was also quick in reaching out to other elements in the system has discovered the narrow limits of his power. Like previous ( in name onlee !) PM's ( Ganja, Gilani ) he is find that he will be a puppet of the Deep State
So those who blamed Nawaz Sharif’s personalized style of governance being responsible for generating the present crises can see that the deep state would defy constitutional control whatever is the governance style of the sitting Chief Executive may be. The veneer of civilian control was dramatically exposed over forming a national response to the deepening international isolation of the country over tackling the challenge of extremism and terrorism in the country. Imran Khan is waiting in the wings !!!
On August 21 President Donald Trump delivered a policy speech laying out the new US policy regarding conflict in Afghanistan and South Asia not only blamed Pakistan for providing sanctuaries to Afghan Taliban for fighting war against the Afghan state but he also threatened to take punitive measures against Pakistan if the later doesn’t change the aforementioned policy. Then came the 9th BRICS annual summit on September 3-5 in the Chinese city Xiamen. The Summit Declaration expressed concern over the activities of Pakistan based major terrorist networks including Taliban, LeT, JuM and others and demanded action against them.
The said Declaration also expressed solidarity with Afghan government which is fighting various terrorist outfits. It was pretty obvious that the country’s isolation on the question of extremism and terrorism is complete. New efforts are underway to "sleep with the Russians" . Confirmation of same WILL only occur as and when Putin will finally accept the long -standing invitation to visit Pakiland - has not happened yet
There emerged diametrically opposed responses to these developments from military and civilian segments of the state.
For military it was straight and simple; Pakistan has already done enough against extremism and terrorism. It is for the world to do more. It wasn’t that simple for the civilian set up though. Had it been only US they might have gone with the military’s line. But when it comes to telling the world, which includes China and Russia and many others, the narrative has to be more sophisticated and convincing. So it started with the statement of Khwaja Asif, the Foreign Minister of the country. After explaining the details of Pakistan’s struggle and sacrifices in fighting terrorism he in the end conceded the need for “cleaning our house”.The position immediately came under attack from Nisar Ali Khan, the former Interior Minister and a leader of Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PML-N) who is well known for his close relations with the security establishment. Nisar was the "fauji mole" in Ganja Govt !
Internally the siege of civilian setup is augmented with the fresh onslaught of judicial action against it.
NAB courts are zeroing in on Sharif family..Even the new PM can be a possible target. But on the other hand, acquittal of hard core terrorists in Benazir Bhutto murder case, the zero progress in investigation of hundreds of offshore companies other than those of Nawaz Sharif and the totally passive attitude of higher judiciary at Musharraf’s escape from the trail in high treason and other cases exposes the method in this judicial madness.
The ruling party is desperately trying to make it to the coming Senate election to be held in March and then proceed to hold the next general elections. That is exactly what the deep state and its political cheerleaders wouldn’t let them accomplish. The recent complaints of enforced disappearances of PML-N loyalists in Lahore shows that the deep state is prepared to go to any extent for keeping Nawaz Sharif out of not only power but also out of politics. So, the Nawaz camp is tasting the "same medicine" that is being given to the Baluchi and Sindhi Nationalists !![/quote]
His daughter Mariam Nawaz undeterred by the strong arm tactics of the deep state has emerged as a strong political leader challenging the dead wood in the party. But most serious aspect of the aforementioned bye election is the “mainstreaming “ of the known militant and proscribed outfits.Instead of curbing extremist violence it is being promoted in politics. In late 1970s the deep state introduced sectarian and ethnic divisions to weaken ZA Bhutto’s Peoples Party. Building on the same strategy, and oblivious to national and international concerns, dangerous extremism is being “mainstreamed” to weaken Nawaz Sharif. It will definitely lead to further atomization of Pakistani society. Situation on this front is already quite bleak. So this time, the Pakjabis awaam will be fighting elements of their own. ! Imran watching the tamasha on the sidelines . Deep State doing the "dirty work" without him even lifting a finger
The political engineering by the deep state doesn’t allow the emergence of strong political parties which are important for the project of nation building and state building.
Federal political parties disintegrate into provincial entities under state pressure. Deepening religious extremism and sectarianism is definitely not good news. At the heart of all of this is the "eternal enmity with India " and come what may- to wrest Kashmir and then balkanise India . And add to this- new- how to reduce India's influence in Afghanistan !
Pakistan it seems is going to give serious competition to North Korea in getting itself isolated. But it will not be without serious consequences for the future.

Ganja Sharif Dares To Return Back To Pakistan !

Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan on Monday; will face NAB court
ISLAMABAD – Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif will leave for Islamabad tonight after spending weeks in London, United Kingdom, with his ailing wife Kalsoom Nawaz.
Mr. Sharif will use Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s plane – PK-786 – to return to the country. The decision of his return was made in a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif who reached London the other day. Media reports suggested the ousted PM will appear before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court on September 26. So, the Sharif clan has decided to face the music in their "homeland". Remains to be seen how he is going to be "treated" by the Establishment, now that he is not in power !!

Meanwhile, Imran Khan is waiting in the wings  :

Could This Be The Possible Reason Why There Is Agitation And Fauj Operations In FATA Agency Of Khyber

In a first, five Khyber villages near Torkham will be governed by Pakistan's law
The Express Tribune
PESHAWAR:
The federal government has extended a modified version of the Federal Investigation Agency Act 1974 (VIII of 1975) to five villages of the Khyber tribal area along Torkham border on Friday in an attempt to give policing powers to the Levies force while empowering the political agent with judicial powers.
An official working at the Torkham border pass confirmed that the law had now been implemented and they had received the instructions on Friday. “We will now have the powers to execute our powers in accordance with the new law,” he said.
With the implementation of this order, the Torkham border will no longer be a walk-through post – passports and other papers of travellers will be checked by the border staff. In the guise of integrating the FATA region into mainstream KP, the Pakis are trying to restrict movement across the "artificial Durand" in the guise of "controlling terrrorism" from Afghanistan and FATA. The independent tribesman are of course resisting this !

Look at the pic; Abduls and Ayeshas packed like sardines ! First you go into their tribal territory in the pretext of "fighting terrorism"; next you give deadline to the innocent inhabitants to pack their bags and get out ASAP, by a certain deadline . Then you "beg" the international community ( WB !) to give you money - a problem that you created in the first place - so that you can to give these poor creatures ("internal displaced") food and shelter. If this is not going to create resentment and alienation, and ultimately civil discord , I do not know what will !

ISIS Coming To Isloo

Police remove Islamic State flag waving in Islamabad
A flag similar to that of the militant Islamic State (IS) group was seen waving in Islamabad's Khana area on Sunday morning, before being removed by the local police after a citizen reported the matter. Police removed the flag, hoisted on a pole by an unidentified person, in the afternoon after one Naveed Ahmed Khan — a resident of Dera Ismail Khan — informed Rescue 15 of the matter.
The flag had "Khilafat is coming" written on it, in addition to the Arabic verses.Taking notice of the matter, Minister of Interior Ahsan Iqbal asked the inspector general of police to file a report on the said matter.Pakistan has repeatedly denied the presence of the militant organisation on its soil, while acknowledging the rise of IS in Afghanistan as a point of concern. Many observers have asserted that ISIS in the sub continent is a creature of ISI

Pakistan envoy Lodhi passes off Palestinian victim as a Kashmiri

Image
New York [United States], Sept. 24 (ANI): Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi in her right to reply to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's speech at the UN showed pictures of Palestinian victims and tried to pass them off as 'evidence' of atrocities on Kashmiris.
Maleeha Lodhi resorted to waving dramatic pictures of a girl with pellet injuries on her face and added, "this was the face of Indian democracy", while suggesting that Kashmiris had been injured by pellet guns. However, upon closer inspection of the picture, Maleeha Lodhi's claim seemed to have boomeranged on her.The picture used by Pakistan's Ambassador to the UN was reported by a number of media outlets as that of Rawia Abu Joma'a, a 17-year-old girl injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza city in 2014. Rawia's picture was taken by award winning photographer Heidi Levine.Earlier on Saturday, Swaraj had said India has risen despite being the principal destination of Pakistan's nefarious export of terrorism.
"India has risen despite being the principal destination of Pakistan's nefarious export of terrorism. There have been many governments under many parties during 70 years of Indian freedom,...
She also questioned as to what has Pakistan offered to the world and to its own people apart from terrorism.
In a stinging response to Pakistan at the UNGA, she said that India is completely engaged in fighting poverty, whereas Islamabad seems engaged in fighting New Delhi. (ANI).
Maleeha, a former media person should have known better than to become a tool in the hands of the Deep State.!

Newspaper Spells Out Indian Strategy To Call Pakistan's Nuclear Bluff .

Defence and Strategic Affairs

Calling Pakistan’s nuclear bluff
old article, but still relevant
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto vowed to eat grass but make nuclear weapons. In China,Pak found a “friend” wiling to provide designs of CHIC-4 and in AQ Khan Pakistan found someone who could use any means to get supplies to make facilities to produce enriched Uranium. By mid 1980s, Pakistan was thought to have a working bomb and in no uncertain terms let India know that it will use it if it had to. The 1998 Indian nuclear test provided Pak an opportunity to overtly go nuclear and test some off the shelf bombs it had.
Pakistan over the years has continuously displayed the willingness to use nuclear weapons and came up with a so called low threshold doctrine. This has successfully worked for it as no Indian leader has had the courage to call this bluff and India continues to suffer from Pak sponsored terror without any retribution or any attempt by India to raise the costs for Pakistan.
Let us take a look at Pakistan’s nuclear weapons and its delivery platforms. Pakistan’s major inventory consists of fission weapons based on early Chinese designs. Heavy in weight requiring missiles that have high payload capacity for a single warhead. The yield of these warheads are around 10KT which is less than the atomic bombs dropped on Japan. Pakistan is now working towards a plutonium based warhead again with Chinese assistance in making the reactors.Pakistan developed the Ghauri range of liquid fueled missiles whose accuracy, reliability is a suspect. The last test of the Ghauri failed miserably.
It is said that when Musharraf ordered the missiles to be readied during Kargil war, he was told that the reliability of the missiles was questionable. Over the years, Pakistan has routinely tested missiles and called them a success. Many in the know there are now questioning the success of those tests.Pakistan has been developing a solid fueled Shaheen missile whose reliability will remain a suspect given the fact that Pakistan has routinely lied to its people.Pakistan is now talking about making tactical nukes to be mounted on a 60kms range Nasr missile. This is in response to India devising the Cold Start military doctrine which is doctrined to fight a war under the perceived Pakistani nuclear threshold.
The nuclear weapons of Pakistan are a means to blackmail India and the world at large to take care of Pakistan while it continues with its rogue ways. In my opinion,no General in Pakistan will press the nuclear trigger that will invite total destruction. The sooner India realizes this and add to it how Indian forces can strike to take out Pak missiles before they launch in the event that they decide to launch, India will be able to devise plans to punish Pakistan for its misdeeds. If not, we will keep facing repeated violation of our borders, killing of our soldiers, citizens without them suffering any consequences for it. Yes there are certain risks associated with it, but given the facts I’ve stated above,India can make Pakistan pay without worrying about its nukes.
IMO, if Pakistan's very existence is at risk, in case of an Indian counter - attack , in response to a terrorist attack, it will not hesitate to use tactical nuclear weapons as a last resort !

‘A disaster in the making’: Pakistan’s population surges to 207.7 million
By Pamela Constable
Washington Post
RAWALPINDI, Pakistan — For years, Pakistan's soaring population growth has been evident in increasingly crowded schools, clinics and poor communities across this vast, Muslim-majority nation. But until two weeks ago, no one knew just how serious the problem was. Now they do.
Preliminary results from a new national census — the first conducted since 1998 — show that the population has grown by 57 percent since then, reaching 207.7 million and making Pakistan the world's fifth-most-populous country, surpassing Brazil and ranking behind China, India, the United States and Indonesia. The annual birthrate, while gradually declining, is still alarmingly high. At 22 births per 1,000 people, it is on a par with Bolivia and Haiti, and among the highest outside Africa. Awaam does not believe in birth control !
... columnist Zahid Hussain wrote in the Dawn newspaper recently. With 60 percent of the population younger than 30, nearly a third of Pakistanis living in poverty and only 58 percent literate, he added, "this is a disaster in the making."
Only a third of married Pakistani women use any form of birth control, and the only family-planning method sanctioned by most Islamic clerics is spacing births by breast-feeding newborns for two years.
A few people, however, are paying close attention to the larger picture. One is Shireen Sukhun, a district officer for the Population Welfare Department in Punjab province. Her mission is to persuade Pakistani families to have fewer children and offer the families access to contraceptive methods — but she is keenly aware of the obstacles."The fatal combination we face is poverty and illiteracy," Sukhun said. "It takes a long time to change people's mind-sets, and we don't have the luxury of leaving it to time." A Quetta "Doctor" has 33 Children with 3 wives and wants more
One outpost in her campaign is a tiny, bench-lined room in Dhoke Hassu, a congested working-class area of Rawalpindi. Inside, Rubina Rehman, a family welfare worker, listens all day to women's problems with feverish babies, painful deliveries and other woes. Once they feel comfortable with her, she broaches the topic of contraception.
On Thursday, a dozen women crowded into Rehman's office, some carrying infants or toddlers. Several leaned close and whispered to her, then slipped packets of birth-control pills into their purses. One woman named Yasina, 35, explained proudly that she had gotten an "implant" — a hormone dose injected under the skin that prevents conception for several years. "I already have five children, and that is more than enough," she said. At first she had agreed to a tubal ligation, which the government arranges at no cost, but her husband, a laborer, would not allow it. "So I got the implant instead, and I didn't tell him," she said, bursting into laughter as the other women smiled. Cheating on their Abduls
One pregnant housewife waiting to see a gynecologist in Mardan had a small child on her lap and a 5-year-old girl by her side. All looked weak and malnourished. "My husband doesn't care about my health or the health of our children. He can barely support us, but he wants more," said Zarina Bibi, 34. She said that a doctor had advised her to take a break from childbirth for several years but that she had no choice. "My husband doesn't want birth control." One key to all this, is women's education (not the Madrassa kind !). And the results of that will not change things overnite !

There has to be a Deep State hand in this, most probably the US. The ground realities are no different than before in Balochistan than before. This is a Deep State sending a message. Hence, probably also of the extreme reaction from Terroristan.

It's not that easy..
I saw a clip where Abbasi was interacting with Paki media (or friends) and was very happy with his speech but one reminded him (in urdu) "arre yaar but you did not take the name of Kulbhushan Jadhav".. He replied something like ..(in urdu) - "I think I did but you say I didn't .. may be you are right but I will take it next time" ... (after that a Paki did mention Kulbhushan's name in right of reply).

Also some interesting info here:

Pain In the A$$ (PIA), Terroristan's official airline in the news, once again for all the right reasons!
A hotel in the United Kingdom has told the Pakistan International (PIA) Airlines that it would not rent rooms to the airline’s crew anymore, Express News reported.

The hotel told the national flag carrier that female guests at the hotel felt insecure in the presence of PIA’s male crew.

It added that it had received multiple complaints of the airline’s male staff asking female guests at the hotel for their phone numbers.
Therefore, the management added, it would not rent rooms to PIA’s male crew until action was taken against those involved in pestering female guests at the hotel.

should be me as krisna :(( :(( dubious distinction .

If one recalls terroristan was used in BRF way much before 2016. In fact I used it as iot is common knowledge here.
earlier avataars had tsp etc terrorist state of paksitan and much others.
I had refered to Pakistan as tsp and terroristan in other araes as in email groups before WhatsApp tweets and telegram became popular. I got roundly criticised by my friends for saying it openly. This was much before 2008 Mumbai attacks. I told my friends about BRF usage. one sickular friend living in UK said he will inform the authorities in UK. I replied "go to them and inform me back".

IOW BRF was the source of me saying terroristan .

This BBC story on madrassas in Pakistan, dated July 18, 2005 has this undated comment (emphasis added). The "condolences to all in London" must refer to London bombings of July 7, 2005.
I come from a liberal Muslim family of Pakistani origin. But, I consider myself a loyal American. My deepest condolences to all in London. As part of a visit to discover my Pakistani roots, I spent some time in a madarasa near Rawalpindi. While the faculty and students were incredibly friendly, I could not believe some of the things I heard there. There is no real education outside of Islamic studies. The problem is really bad leadership and wrong values. Pakistan should actually give up and change its name to The Islamic Republic of Terroristan. Why is it that almost all recent terrorist activities track back to Pakistan? Their leaders have known this for years.

Something is fundamentally wrong with Pakistani society. When you combine poverty, repression, religious chauvinism, a culture of hyper-violence, and fanaticism, the result is, well, what you see. I know I am setting myself up for abuse by saying this, but it's the truth and it's time for Muslims to recognize that as a community, we are not vocal enough in denouncing the use of violence to further Islamic aims. Everyone is always acting like Muslims are under threat. As I understand it, the message of the Prophet (pbuh), places far greater emphasis on relieving poverty. Why not focus on that? Why always trying to press our ways on others? We keep saying that Islam is a religion of peace, but how will people believe it if all this is happening?

Not many West Pakistani political leaders opposed the military action in East Pakistan (Megalomaniac ZAB of PPP threatened to "break legs of anyone" who dared to attend the ( never happened !) sitting of the NA following the election. :D )

I love it that our leaders speak in international conferences in Hindi. Yes, I don't mind English like when Rajiv Gandhi used to speak, but Hindi makes it a matter of pride for me.
Internationally when they speak in English it looks like they are speaking prepared speech without any emotions., when they speak in Hindi it sounds like genuine coming from heart.

Saudi Envoy PR giri On Behalf Of "Bad Sharif"

Saudi Ambassador reveals Raheel Sharif role in Islamic Military Alliance
ISLAMABAD – Saudi Arabia will soon join the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC) to build on the brotherly ties with Islamabad, the country's envoy has said here.Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Ahmed Al-Malkiy said his country will invest in Gwadar Port for the 'prosperity of Pakistanis'.In keeping with Saudi tardiness and work ethic probably will be a long long wait between this impulsive statement- most probably not approved by Ryadh - and the actual receipt of Saudi funds, if at all it comes to fruition
He also said that Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman had agreed to boost trade ties during their recent talks. Would not be surprised if Raheel is pitching for Pakiland with his New Boss, The Young And Brash Young Prince .
He further said that former Pakistan army chief General (Retd) Raheel Sharif's appointment as head of the 39-nation Islamic military coalition ( in name onlee ) is aimed at enhancing its capabilities to fight terror and not directed at anyone. ( Raheel's expertise being "used" for quelling Yemenis Shias, now laid to rest with this statement :D )

Karzai Still Suspicious Of Pakistan. Blast US As Well .

Hamid Karzai spits venom against Pakistan yet again
KABUL – The former Afghan President Hamid Karzai reaffirmed his opposition to the new US strategy for Afghanistan and South Asia as he expressed doubts regarding the latest stance Washington has adopted against Pakistan.
Speaking to Foreign Policy in his office in Kabul, Karzai said the new US strategy has not been announced with an aim to end the ongoing conflict and violence but rather the US administration wants the conflict to continue.
In regards to the latest stance Washington has adopted against Islamabad, the former President said the issue of Pakistan was shared for years with the Americans.“They not only ignored me, they named Pakistan as a major ally,” he added. Not only Karzai, but even Ghani was optimistic about Pakistan, when he came to power. All came to zero, when Pakistan double -dealt both of them !
He described his pessimism regarding the stance while raising questions regarding the long time taken for the US administration to decide the regarding lies of Pakistan. “It doesn’t take a country 15 years to decide whether someone [Pakistan] is lying to them or not; 15 years is a long time. They can’t come to us after 15 years and say Pakistan is exporting terrorism,” he said.

"Senior Residents " Of Chakwal Area Villages Now Say Good Things About Their Hindu And Sikh Neighbours And Friends

'They set them all on fire': Chakwal recalls horrors of Partition
Posted in Full
There was a time when Chakwal's numerous villages had considerable Sikh and Hindu populations. Vahali village, being the capital of the Vahali state, was home to the Sardars of Vahali. The Sardars were not only the owners of Khewrah's salt mines, they also served at top positions in the courts of Punjab and Kashmir. Their rulers included the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, the Rajas of Kashmir and Poonch, Queen Victoria of the British Colonial Government and King George after her.
In the summer of 1947 the Sardars of Vahali went to spend some time in Shimla, but were never able to return to their homes. Vahali had been burnt to ashes.
The sudden surge in violence was a stark contrast to the peace and tranquility that had previously existed in Vahali. Frightened Hindus rushed into the Maari (a grand house with more than one hundred rooms) of Sardar Hari Singh, hoping the rioters would not attack them due to Singh's influence. Yet Muslim rioters set the Maari ablaze, burning alive more than two hundred Hindus, including women and children.
“We were living in peace and harmony. My best friends were Hindu women,” recalls 107 year old Resham Bee. She added that Muslims in this area did not plan to attack Hindus, but a group of enraged rioters from neighbouring Minhala village stormed Vahali.
“Hindu women carrying their children desperately pleaded for mercy. They begged and conceded to send their children to village seminaries and even pleaded with Muslim rioters to marry their Hindu girls, converting them to Islam. However, no person heard their cries, as every Muslim was focused on plundering gold, currency and other valuables stashed in the Maari. They set them all on fire,” recalls Resham Bee, who was a witness to these horrors.
It is senior citizens such as Resham Bee who are part of the last generation of Pakistanis to have witnessed peace and cultural diversity. However, they have also witnessed gory riots, which constituted one of the largest massacres and migrations in history. These individuals are those who still harbour the sweet and bitter memories relating to partition.
Yet the governments of both India and Pakistan have not thought to construct a memorial at the Wagah border, to pay homage to the victims of the gory riots. Nonetheless, the nostalgia-stricken senior citizens in Chakwal’s villages still languish in the memories of their non-Muslim friends.
Question: Why did it take 70+ years for these "nostalgic memories" to be reported in the leading newspaper of Pakistan !

Pak nukes hidden at nine places, at risk of being stolen by terrorists - Sachin Parashar, ToI
: Pakistan PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi last week yet again flaunted+ his country's tactical or nonstrategic nuclear weapons, saying they were meant to deter the Indian Army's 'cold start' doctrine.

While Abbasi declared that Pakistan's nuclear assets, including the tactical nukes, were under a robust command-and-control system, the short-range weapons meant to be used early in a conventional conflict with India are vulnerable to accidents and risk of landing up with terrorists.

According to a recent report by the Federation of American Scientists (FAS), Pakistan has stored its nuclear forces at nine different locations across the country.

Renowned US nuclear weapon expert and co-author of the report Hans Kristensen said Pakistan's nuclear warheads may be located in storage facilities near the bases the report identifies, and that these bases themselves appear to house nuclear-capable launchers that would use those warheads.

The report describes the launcher bases to give readers an impression of the extent to which Pakistan's nuclear forces are being dispersed across the country.

Kristensen told TOI that because Pakistan was building a short-range sub-strategic nuclear arsenal (in addition to its longer-range force), the warheads would likely be distributed to regional storage sites from which they could be assembled and transported to the launcher bases.

"Since the shorter-range systems are intended to be used earlier in a conflict below the strategic level, weapons for these systems would likely be distributed early in a crisis and raise the risk of accident and incidents. If used against conventional attacks, use of the tactical nuclear weapons would likely lead to escalation to a wider nuclear war quickly," said Kristensen.

A Trump administration official was quoted last month as saying that the US was particularly concerned by the development of tactical nuclear weapons that were designed for use in the battlefield, and that Washington believed these systems were more susceptible to terrorist theft and increased the likelihood of nuclear exchange in the region.

The report by Kristensen and Robert Norris also says that Pakistan has a rapidly expanding nuclear arsenal of 130-140 warheads and an increasing portfolio of delivery systems.

The report says Islamabad is quantitatively and qualitatively strengthening its arsenal and deploying weapons at more sites and yet the locations are difficult to pinpoint.

"For example, no reliable public information exists on where Pakistan produces or stores its nuclear weapons. Thus, we have used commercial satellite images, expert studies, and local news reports and articles to make the assumption that nuclear weapons are likely to be at, or near, wherever nuclear-capable weapon systems are deployed," it says.
