Terroristani wimmens misfortunately miss the top spot!
https://tribune.com.pk/story/1515398/in ... -pakistan/
The report has ranked Pakistan 143 out of 144 countries. Sadly, Pakistan has not only fared particularly poorly in 2016, but its rankings have deteriorated since a decade earlier. Comparing Pakistan’s performance in the South Asian region, India has done much better being ranked 87 out of 144 countries.

India rejects all 4 options presented by WB on dams issue

September 26, 2017

ISLAMABAD - A Parliamentary Committee was yesterday informed that India has rejected all the four options, presented by World Bank, for the resolution of issue pertaining to construction of Dams, by New Delhi, on the western rivers in the violation of Indus Basin treaty.

In view of the options floated by the World Bank and Indian reaction to those, it seems that both forums, Neutral Experts and Court of Arbitrations, would be formed where Neutral Experts would consider differences (matter specific to the projects) and the court disputes (the matters of general applicability) said Indus Water Commissioner, Mirza Asif Baig, while briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Water Resources here.

The meeting, chaired by Senator Yaqoob Khan Nasir, recommended the government to not allow India to construct spillways below dead level of the dams on the western rivers.

Indus Water Commissioner, Mirza Asif Baig, briefed the meeting about the violation of India of the treaty, the steps taken by Pakistan to stop the Indian designs and recent Secretary level talks held in Washington under the auspices of the World Bank.

He said that under the Indus treaty India is allowed to construct dams on the western rivers but after the consultation with Pakistan.

Indian design of new dams, on the western rivers, are in complete violation of the India treaty, he added.

Senator Taj Haider said that there is trust deficit in the relationship between India and Pakistan and ,therefore, India cannot be granted the permission of constructing spillways below the dead level as it can be used against the country.

In a briefing it was informed that Pakistan has dispute on the design aspects of Kishenganga Hydroelectric Plant (KHEP) and Ratle Hydroelectric Plant (RHEP).

After India failed to remove Pakistan reservations about KHEP and RHEP, it was decided that at Pakistan would take the matters to the third forum for resolution i.e Neutral Expert (NE) or Court of Arbitration(COA).

Subsequently, following the procedure in the treaty, Pakistan invoked the disputes under Article IX of the treaty in February 2016.

Pakistan submitted its Request for Arbitration (RfA) to India on August 19 2016 but India wanted to go to NE while Pakistan wanted to go to CoA.

India has approached the World Bank for the appointment of NE in October 2016.

However, apparently on India’s request an opportunity was provided to both the countries to resolve the issue amicably.

Pause intended to resolve the matter related to the decision of the issue but it was not achieved as the parties didn’t agree on the mode of resolution.

Meanwhile, taking advantage of the pause India completed the construction of KHEP and announced in July that it would carry out initial filling of reservoir.

After Pakistan’s protest, the Bank took the matter with India and India has agreed to Secretary level talks. In the first Secretary level talks held in Washington on July 31 and August 1, for RHEP Pakistan side stated that such alternative designs were possible that would not cause any reduction in power and energy and would be sound and economical.

During the second round of talks held in Washington on Sept 14-15, on the alternative design of KHEP and RHEP India made a general observation that Pakistan ignores soundness of the design and economy while making objections.

On the issue of Pondage India stuck to its earlier position that the upper limit of the pondage is to be worked out by load fluctuations.

In response Pakistan noted that the design should be carried out considering first the Treaty’s limitations concerning, minimum freeboard, pondage of only sufficient magnitude to meet fluctuations of load, spillways providing no control over the water stored in the reservoir (Ungated spillway).

It was evident from Indian stance on the pondage and intake that it would not be possible to achieve resolution on the technical matter, as India didn’t show any flexibility in modifying its designs, the Commissioner said.

Regarding KHEP, India didn’t want to discuss this matter and held the view that as the project stood completed it need not be discussed. As Pakistan insisted having Indian evaluation on the alternative designs India summarily provided its observation and said that it was not possible to modify the designs.

On proposal of ungated bay on the right side of the dam Indian side said that geology was weak and constructing a spillway would endanger the safety of the dam.

On the proposal of construction in front of spillways and intake Indian side said that it would require constructing coffer-dam again and putting the facility out of function.

He had no appreciation of the concern of Pakistan that the project’s was achieved without addressing Pakistan objections to the design.

In the first round of Secretary level talks the Bank had presented eight options to the parties for consideration as mode of resolution. After the resolution of the technical matters failed the bank presented four shortlisted options to the parties under article IX(2) of the treaty, which specifies that the Commission has the discretion of adopting resolution of differences by NE or disputes by CoA or by any other way agreed upon by the commission;.

Options presented by the Bank includes:

1. Expert Panel to be decided by the parties along with ToR

2. Merge NE into CoA with a person who qualifies to be NE

3. Make both forums and divide the work between them(NE considers difference CoA considers disputes or division of projects)

4. Make both forums and stagger the sequence (drawing of lots)

India in its initial response stated that the treaty specifies only NE and CoA as resolution forums and any other way required meeting of the Commission at a proper place.

Pakistan evaluated the option and except for the option of Panel of Experts accepted the options with the following priority.

Pakistan prioritised option

1. Merge NE into CoA with a person who qualifies to be NE

2. Make both forum and divide the work between them (NE considers differences CoA considers disputes or division of projects)

3. Make both forums and stagger the sequence(Drawing of lots)

Bank has once again asked Indian response and India has rejected all the four options as non-treaty complaint and asked for the appointment of NE for resolution of the differences.

On this Pakistan asked the Bank that since all options presented by the Bank have been rejected by India, Pakistan also asks for empanelment of the Court of Arbitration for resolution of the disputes.

The Bank announced that it will discharge its responsibility according to the treaty provisions without delay and that the bank would continue consultations with the parties.

Baig said that Pakistan should accept the option with the condition that the court decided first the matter of general applicability and NE later.

On the basis of the decision of the court, decide the matter specific to the projects.

X Posted from the Pakistani Role In Global Terrorism thread.

Afghanistan once again blasts the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the United Nations for indulging in Mohammadden Terrorism. This time the venue is the Security Council rather than the General Assembly.

For the Video (2hr 52min mark) :

The situation in Afghanistan - Security Council, 8055th meeting, 25 Sep 2017

The Full Text of the speech is below:
All among us here today are well aware of the security dynamics in Afghanistan and in the region. As such I should not have to go into great detail about Pakistan’s long term and outstanding use of terror and violent extremism as an instrument of foreign policy.

The main factor for insecurity in Afghanistan therefore relates to the export of violent proxy groups into Afghanistan from within Pakistan. As we stated last week at the General Assembly these facts have been verified by various members of the international coalition present in Afghanistan. It is onthis basis Afghanistan has called on the Security Council to take specific action in defense of the United Nations Charter.

Mr. President,

With all Afghanistan and Pakistan have in common as beautifully outlined by the distinguished representative of Pakistan, we are keen to see genuine and comphrehensive State to State discourse on peace, security and prosperity. We hope to see a constructive engagement rather than a continuation of the old familiar plausible deniability and attempts of different kinds to change narrativive through kake and distorted facts, figures and images. This kind of behaviour will be an off route for peace.

Policy of deception has no future. Pakistan should rather seize the opportunity to reverse course and choose the path of adhering to the United Nations Charter,

I thank you.

Gen Qamar said, “We are sacrificing the best for this nation”

On the contrary, some people and hostile agencies from abroad were badmouthing Pakistan and its army and talking about dismembering the country. :rotfl:

“Let me make it clear that no power can harm us as long as we have such valiant sons of the soil and their brave parents in Pakistan,” he added. “Pakistan’s enemy is our enemy :rotfl: . Use of force is the prerogative of the state Baki Fauj alone.”

The army chief said Pakistan Army would continue to perform in the best interest of the country army and would stand by the nation against all challenges by staging coups.
Should dispel any doubts of an army having a country.
He also told the countrymen that that they should not worry as the army is ready to tackle any internal or external challenges Pakistan faces.

A Case Of "Pot Calling The Kettle Black " ( System "rotten" top to bottom !)

Intelligence Bureau accused of ‘protecting’ terrorists by one of its own spies
ISLAMABAD: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has been accused by one of its own spies of “protecting” terrorists.A serving assistant sub-inspector of IB, ASI Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Shahzad, has accused his senior officers of not taking action against terrorism suspects and filed a petition before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) requesting it to refer the matter to the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) for a thorough probe. ( And the "good ISI" will do the needful!)
The IHC Registrar’s Office fixed the petition before Justice Aamer Farooq on Monday who referred the case to IHC Chief Justice Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi, with a note that the matter may be transferred to Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui since an identical matter is pending in his court, an IHC official said. Passing the "hot potato" pakora " ?
In the petition filed through his counsel Masroor Shah, Mr Shahzad has said he joined the IB in 2007 and that he “reported against various terrorist groups having roots in Uzbekistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria and India”. :((
“However, to the petitioner’s utter dismay, no action was ever been taken by IB in this respect despite concrete evidence provided to it in the form of the intelligence reports”, the petition says. “Upon thorough intelligence gathering process, it transpired that certain high officials of the IB themselves are directly involved with the terrorist organizations having linkages with hostile enemy intelligence agencies” the petition reads. And what makes him think that ISI is "squeaky clean" :D
It says some IB officials travelled to Israel and had direct links with Afghan intelligence which, it was found later, had links with another terrorist group from Kazakhstan.
“These terrorists used to disguise themselves as citrus dealers in Kot-Momin and Bhalwal, Sargodha. The business was a mere camouflage,” the petition says. Lots of conspiracy theories and "trade secrets" discussed openly. PEMRA should take "due note"
The petitioner requested the court that the issue of connivance, complacency and involvement of official of IB and other senior bureaucrats raised in the petition may graciously be entrusted to ISI for investigation. The petition further requested that the prime minister be directed to evolve a comprehensive strategy to keep a check on IB officials’ involvement in sectarian terrorism. IB also recently came under attack by a joint investigation team consisting of officials from ISI, Military Intelligence and officials from other departments for ‘hampering the investigation’ into the assets of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s family.
Turf war between "various arms" of the "Deep State " ? Dirty laundry washed in media ?

US, India agree there will be no tolerance for terror safe havens

NEW DELHI: Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Tuesday that she discussed the issue of terror safe havens in Pakistan with her US counterpart James Mattis and they both agreed such sanctuaries shouldn't be tolerated.

Sitharaman also said she made India's stance on Afghanistan clear to Mattis, by emphasising it won't contribute troops to Afghanistan but will continue developmental assistance to the war-ravaged country.

State sanctuary to terror elements was however the big chunk of the conversation between Sitharaman and Mattis, who is the first Trump Cabinet member to visit India.

"I borrowed the defence secretary's own (earlier) words when I explained to him that the very same forces that find safe haven in Pakistan have been the ones who've affected New York as well as other places," said Sitharaman, after a meeting with the US defence secretary in New Delhi.

The defence minister further said she requested Mattis to raise the issue of cross-border terrorism and terror safe havens+ when and if he visits Pakistan.

The US defence secretary also commented on terrorism.

"Our two countries recognise the threat that global terrorism poses to people throughout the world," said Mattis, according to ANI news agency.

"India and US have suffered grievous losses to terrorism. We intend to work closely with India as we work to eradicate terrorism," added Mattis. All of Terroristani Origin or Connection/Training.

Mattis's India visit comes a little over two months after US President Donald Trump said that India must play a bigger role in Afghanistan's path to peace+ . On Tuesday, Mattis acknowledged that India has already contributed significantly.

"We value India's invaluable contribution to Afghanistan and welcome further efforts to promote Afghanistan's democracy, safety and security," said the US defence secretary.

Sitharaman said she told Mattis that India will be continuing developmental and other assistance to Afghanistan.

In fact, Trump's Afghan policy envisaged just such assistance.

"We appreciate India's important contributions to stability in Afghanistan, but India makes billions of dollars in trade with the United States, and we want them to help us more with Afghanistan, especially in the area of economic assistance and development," said Trump in August when he outlined his administration's Afghan policy.

A Satire On The Power Hungry Kaptaan Khan :D

Imran Khan is the real prime minister
In 1990, Benazir Bhutto was ousted by Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif became prime minister. In 1993, Nawaz Sharif was ousted by Benazir Bhutto. Benazir Bhutto became prime minister. In 2017, Nawaz Sharif was ousted by Imran Khan. (using the Paki Supreme Court as his proxy !) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi became prime minister.
But Imran is prime minister in all but name. Or position. Or political capital. Or electoral ability. Other than that, he is the de facto prime minister of Pakistan.
Nawaz is out. Imran believes that Pakistan has won. He asserts that he has no personal agenda against Nawaz. He laughs hysterically for ten minutes trying to keep a straight face after that assertion. The Constitution clearly states that if the prime minister is disqualified, then the leader of the third largest party will become the prime minister. There’s no stopping Imran now.
Imran is not concerned with provincial politics anymore; he has to think about the entire country. He is a nationalist, not a prejudicial provincialist,...
Imran Khan was convinced he would be prime minister in 2013. Did not ! Imran Khan was convinced he would be prime minister in 2014. Did not !.Imran Khan is convinced he will be prime minister in 2018. If he is in the "good books" of the fauj !
It is Imran wearing the shalwar kameez and waistcoat now — and who will stay prime minister forever. As long as he refuses to take off his uniform, he can stay in office as long as he likes.
Naya Pakistan is here and it is here to stay, at least until Imran is ousted in favour of the new poster boy for yet another version of Naya Pakistan.

Our agencies protecting terrorists': Pakistan intelligence officer petitions Islamabad HC

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani intelligence officer has accused his own spy agency of "protecting" terrorists and filed a petition in a court here requesting for a thorough probe in the matter, a media report said today.

Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Shahzad, a serving assistant sub-inspector of Intelligence Bureau (IB), has accused his senior officers of not taking action against terrorism suspects.

In a petition filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), he requested the court to refer the matter to the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) for a thorough probe, Dawn reported.

The IHC Registrar's Office fixed the petition before Justice Aamer Farooq who referred the case yesterday to Chief Justice Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi, with a note that the matter may be transferred to Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui since an identical matter is pending in his court, the paper quoted a court official as saying.

In the petition filed through his counsel Masroor Shah, Shahzad claims that he reported against terrorist groups from various countries but no action was taken.

"However, to the petitioner's utter dismay, no action was ever been taken by IB in this respect despite concrete evidence provided to it in the form of the intelligence reports," the petition says.

"Upon thorough intelligence gathering process, it transpired that certain high officials of the IB themselves are directly involved with the terrorist organisations having linkages with hostile enemy intelligence agencies," it reads.

It goes on to say that the matter was even reported to the IB director general, who also did not take any steps.

It claims some IB officials travelled to Israel and had direct links with Afghan intelligence which, it was found later, had links with another terrorist group from Kazakhstan.

"These terrorists used to disguise themselves as citrus dealers in Kot-Momin and Bhalwal, Sargodha. The business was a mere camouflage," the petition says.

The petition claims that the son of joint director IB (Punjab) was dealing with the said terrorist groups.

It also names certain IB officials who are allegedly on the payroll of foreign intelligence agencies which include a joint director general, directors and deputy directors.

Shahzad said he "has been running from pillar to post including approaching the prime minister of Pakistan to raise this issue of national security."

Moonlighting Peshawari Doctor Nabbed !

Peshawar hospital’s doctor among 7 arrested for illegal trading of human organs
PESHAWAR – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday busted a gang allegedly involved in illegal transplantation of human organs.
As per reports, a team of the FIA following information regarding illegal transplants of kidney, raided a private hospital in tehsil Pabbi of district Nowshera in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).During the raid, the police arrested Abdul Aziz, urologist of Hayat Medical Complex (HMC), Peshawar, and his seven assistants when they were engaged in the transplanting process at the hospital. The FIA is interrogating the arrested persons.Earlier in April, the investigation agency had busted a gang and lodged first-ever under the Human Organ Transplant Act (HOTA) against two doctor, two foreign nationals and two organ donors. If the doctors and his accomplices can produce the "high sifarish", no action is likely to be taken . The case will gather dust on the shelves

X Posted on The Rohingya Menace Thread

Pakistan’s very own Rohingya plight goes unnoticed

The irony remains at large that the plight of minorities across Pakistan who are just as oppressed remains unheard.

As the world mulls over how to deal with the Rohingya crisis, which is now deemed as a textbook case of “ethnic cleansing” by the United Nations, there is so much more that Pakistan can do. Gradually, the world is now waking up to a horrifying truth that a "silent genocide" is taking place in Myanmar, which is vehemently carried out by the oppressive Burmese military against the Rohingya which is one of the most persecuted minorities in the world.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May, recently announced at the UN General Assembly that the UK would suspend its joint UK-Burmese military training over the inhumane treatment of Rohingya, the US has also decided to provide an aid relief of $32 million to help the constant influx of over 400,000 Rohingya refugees into Bangladesh.

While village after village burns in the Rakhine state of Myanmar as satellite imaging shared by Amnesty International indicates, Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also requested Myanmar to take back the large influx of Rohingya it holds and to stop calling Rohingya as ‘Bengalis’.

Myanmar's once-revered Nobel Peace Prize-winning leader Aung San Suu Kyi broke her long-running silence and openly denied any sort of ethnic cleansing against the Rohingya community. Suu Kyi did acknowledge that some Rohingya people are being displaced but never pointed out the real culprits like the Burmese military behind the many attacks Rohingya have suffered. For many, Suu Kyi’s speech was filled with hollowed promises.

Meanwhile in Pakistan, which one might think must be heaven for the Rohingya community due to the persistent interest in the Rohingya issue shown by many religious and political parties here, it is also a "living nightmare" for many of the Rohingya refugees who now call it their permanent home.

It is estimated that between 350,000 to 500,000 members of Pakistan's Rohingya community live in deplorable conditions, mostly in the slums of Karachi (the country's financial capital), and after decades of living in the country are denied their basic rights of citizenship. Many of them are not even able to get any sort of basic education, health care or easy access to jobs which is crucial for the community’s welfare, even worse is that Rohingya in Pakistan are often harassed by law enforcement agencies who often view them as "illegal aliens" that are a threat to the national security of the country.

A large majority of Pakistan’s Rohingya who stayed back still remain "stateless aliens" in a country which fails to see them as its own, many of Pakistan’s Rohingya now see themselves betrayed by a false notion of a promised land.

Pakistan which has long established itself as a bastion of the "Muslim Ummah" has all but miserably failed to protect the rights of its own religious and ethnic minorities many of them, including the Sunni Rohingya, Shia Hazara, Ahmadis and Christians, all face collective institutionalised discrimination at the hands of state institutions and are even persecuted by extremists groups who are often linked to terrorist activities both at home and aboard.

Such a display of selective humanity comes as a hypocritical notion, especially from a society which often takes pride in standing up for the rights of the oppressed and persecuted Muslim populations all around the world. But the irony remains at large that the plight of minorities across Pakistan remains unheard of despite considered equal citizens according to the law of the land.

One wonders why such unequivocal no to troops deployment in Afganistan ? I thought India should have strategically weighed her option and at the very least showed flexibility to adapt to global terrorism issues , especially those that directly impact us . I’d have loved to see TSP squirm in utmost desperation at the very prospect of India’s military presence in Afganistan. Why give to them on platter or close out the option in black and white . If nothing else keep ‘em in suspense .

I could be wrong but if a friend Afganistan needs us to be on their side , we shouldn’t disappoint them , just as we did for Bhutan . To me that’s the first step to assume a leader role in Asia and seriously threaten China ..

Altaf Hussain is a traitor and should be hanged, says Sindh home minister
Just like that!
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain is a traitor like arrested Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav (How did Yadev qualify to be a traitor, hainji?) and should be handed a death sentence as well, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial said while addressing a ceremony in Karachi on Tuesday.
Sial also took on the former president Pervez Musharraf and former home minister Zulfikar Mirza for accusing PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari of involvement in Benazir Bhutto's murder.
"Why did Pervez Musharraf do nothing against Asif Zardari when he was the president?" Sial asked.
And to end his diatribe on a peaceful note:
The Sindh home minister also credited the Pakistan Army, Sindh government and Rangers for bringing peace to the province. (awww..!!)
Give this man a PhD for an original thesis.

BSF’s Operation Arjun targets border farms, homes of Pak officers
NEW DELHI: The Border Security Force's use of targeted firepower on farms and residences of Pakistan's serving and former army officers near the border resulted in Pakistan suing for peace.

Codenamed 'Operation Arjun', the measure has seen BSF framing a robust response to Pakistan's use of snipers to kill jawans, besides firing on civilians and shelling villages along the border over the last month.

The border force's counter-offensive on Pakistan's pain points saw the latter seek a ceasefire three days ago.

BSF has particularly targeted farms and residences of retired Pakistan army, ISI and Pakistan Rangers officers who have been given land near the Indian border to facilitate their task of guiding infiltration and providing logistical help in anti-operations India, top sources said.

Following the BSF action, Pakistan Rangers' Punjab DG Maj Gen Azgar Naveed Hayat Khan called BSF director K K Sharma twice last week requesting a stop to the firing. Sharma lodged a strong protest on Pakistan's unprovoked firing causing loss of life and property of civilians. The first call to Sharma was made on September 22, while the two DGs spoke again on Monday.

Sharma told Khan that his junior, Lt Col Irfan, commanding officer of 12 Chenab Rangers, had the tendency of acting in a provocative manner, raising the risk of retaliation. As part of 'Operation Arjun', the BSF used small, medium and area weapons, causing heavy damage on the Pakistani side and the death of seven Pakistan Rangers personnel and 11 civilians. Several border outposts and structures of Pakistan army and Rangers were destroyed using long-range 81 mm weapons. Officials said following Pakistan's repeated firing on villages and its posts, the BSF restructured its operations along the western border and decided to hit the adversary where it hurt.

Sources said the tactic was on the lines of the three-month 'Operation Rustam' carried out last year after Pakistan fired intermittently following the September 19 surgical strikes by the Indian Army. At that time too, BSF's retaliation forced Pakistan Rangers to wave the white flag.

Army pushes back Pakistani intruders in J&K's Keran sector
NEW DELHI: The Army on Tuesday thwarted an attempt by Pakistan's Border Action Team to intrude into Indian territory and attack an Army post in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir. According to sources, seven-eight armed intruders came close to an Indian Army post, and were provided cover fire by a Pakistan Army post on the other side, which fired mortars and shells. Sources said the aim of the intruders was to damage the post, but it was thwarted by the Indian Army. There was no casualty on the Indian side and the intruders retreated.

Pakistan "Manages" To Squeeze $ 800 Million Loan From A.D.B To Enhance Road Network ( which "network" will also be abused to quell down Balochis, Sindhis and Pathans  )
The investment program will expand Pakistan’s regional connectivity links while helping to improve road traffic efficiency. Road networks in Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa  will be rehabilitated and upgraded with the MFF’s first tranche, worth $180 million in 2017. The second and third tranches, worth $260 million and $360 million, respectively, are expected to be approved in 2019 and 2021.
ADB, based in Manila, is dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific through inclusive economic growth, environmentally sustainable growth, and regional integration. Established in 1966, ADB is celebrating 50 years of development partnership in the region. It is owned by 67 members—48 from the region. In 2016, ADB assistance totaled $31.7 billion, including $14 billion in cofinancing.
Maybe, the ADB is unaware that Pakistan is under a World Bank watchlist vis-a-vis new loan approvals . Maybe, there should be a better co-ordination between the agencies lending monies to insolvent entities such as Pakistan. ADB will have to probably "kiss goodbye" to any possible repayments

I had speculated on this matter a few pages ago. The oft rona-dhona by the pakis that "civilians are being killed" is now countered and corroborated by the IA that the targets were indeed farmhouses and residences owned by retired TSPA afsars, and that these properties were/are used to house, feed and stage terrorist attacks on the Indian side.

One underlying point to note is that, based on this statement, Indian RAA knows exactly which house, farm, outhouse, and goat shed is owned by which retired TSPA mujahid. It is likely that IA probably has all land records, gps coordinates, and, heck, even who lives in each goat shed. Probably even has their $hitting and fornicating schedules. This admission also subtly confirms the level of humanInt that exists in PoK which coordinates such fire from the Indian guns with pinpoint accuracy.

If this does not put the abject fear in every retired abdul and his ayesha, then nothing else will. Quoting Reagan's words, "you can retire but you can't hide".

This is most objectionable.. US and the UK together have 30% voting rights in ADB, India has another 6.3% while Japan and South Korea also have significant voting rights. On the one hand, the US administration speaks of cutting off aid to Pakistan and on the other approves billions of dollars through multilateral treaty organizations. Will the different wings of the US govt. start working in coordination? $800 million may be peanut shells to them but in a country like Pak, they go a long way! Some of this aid money will be redirected towards efforts at killing Americans, British, Indians, Koreans and Japanese.. You can count on it.

Terroristan - June 20, 2017

How we lost Kashmir

It was nothing short of an exceptional speech by our seasoned ambassador to the UN at the General Assembly. Grounded both, in reality and higher moral footing, it was a befitting response to a xenophobic characterisation of the people of Pakistan as terrorists by the Indian foreign minister. The ambassador’s speech was, however, short-lived and lost credibility before it could even develop one.

In the midst of glory, she committed what should be an unforgivable mistake that is not only going to embarrass Pakistan in the decades to come but has also dented its rightful stance on Kashmir — the use of false evidence and that too at the UN General Assembly. With emotions running high in Pakistan and the patriotic need to stick to one’s guns, the full extent of damage, while not clear to many at the moment, will be felt every time in the coming years Pakistan raises a point on Kashmir, and at any forum.

Courtesy our ambassador, the UNGA has ended on an ugly note for Pakistan and there is no point in hiding from this or remaining in denial. India now has legitimate evidence, which it has already begun to use to discredit Pakistan terming it the ‘Mother of lies’ by equating Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir with that of Pakistan’s supposed duplicity on hiding Osama bin Laden. As senseless as the two connections may be, at a forum like the UNGA, the purpose of which is to build and shape narratives, Pakistan has unfortunately lost the deal on Kashmir. And it will take a decade or more to build the same momentum for the world to take notice.

The government can either choose to ignore this, and we as commentators try to give it a spin, play it down, defend our ambassador for an otherwise brilliant job, and develop a precedent that it’s okay to be incompetent once in a while at the cost of damaging the nation. Or the government decides to put its foot down and remove the ambassador from such an important position where there is no room for error. The problem is that those in position of authority are not ready to call out the ambassador for her mistake, mostly out of courtesy and those aspiring to be in a position of authority or the commentators and scholars find themselves reluctant to be in the bad books of someone like our UN ambassador, who is so deeply established in the power circles. That leaves us with the security establishment that finds the world of expertise beyond Lodhi and Mushahid as dark and gloomy. The net result is that we carry on with a legacy of incompetence expecting a different result.

The norms and professionalism would suggest that the ambassador resigns on her own, but that won’t ever be the case in Pakistan. The charm of power, prestige and glory always prevail over better senses — even if that costs the nation a fortune. Also, in a country where nobody resigns no matter what the reason, the pressure or moral sensitivity for our UN ambassador to resign is almost negligible.

You see, if after decades of experience, our ambassador is making an error as grave as this, while it may be convenient to shift the blame onto her staff, in reality it is about incompetence and that too right at the top. Her Excellency had one job, and if for whatever reason she hasn’t been effective in it, she herself is the only person to take the blame. There is no reason why the entire system or the nation bears the brunt of one individual’s error.

It was after all our incompetence that what was once known as Kashmir ‘freedom fight’ globally, in a matter of years got labelled as ‘terrorism’. And it is our incompetence today that the Kashmiris suffer on a daily basis. In times like these, it’s not India but incompetence that is our biggest enemy, and Kashmir is the victim.

Paki Deep State Retaliates ? Jammu And Kashmir Posters In Geneva

Jammu and Kashmir seeks attention' posters appear in Geneva
Posters demanding freedom for Jammu and Kashmir and Indian states Tripura, Nagaland, and Manipur have appeared on metro buses and trams in Geneva while the 36th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is underway in the city. The Pakistan Television Network (PTV) official Twitter account shared this information on Monday night with images. It has yet to be ascertained who put up the posters. No need to "play coy" and feign ignorance/ innocence. Any English reading Abdul and Ayesha, reading this newspaper knows who is the "culprit"
Earlier in September, Ambassador Farukh Amil, the permanent representative of Pakistan to the UN had written to the Swiss authorities to bring attention to “Free Balochistan” posters that had cropped up in the area around Rue de Ferney of Grand Saconnex in Geneva. Ouch! Those posters have really hurt !
In his letter, Ambassador Amil had demanded that the Swiss authorities take action against the posters after reports of their sighting. Ambassador-designate of Switzerland, Thomas Kelly, was also summoned to the Foreign Office (FO) by Additional Secretary (Europe) Zaheer A. Janjua to lodge a protest against the display of "anti-Pakistan posters and an insidious paid campaign against Pakistan", an FO handout read. Pakistan should very well know by now, that in the battle for "world and /or European public opinion", the word "Pakistan" is synonym with "Terrorism" !
On Sept 21, the Senate agreed to suspend till further notice the workings of a Pak-Switzerland Friendship Group in reaction to the appearance of "Free Balochistan" posters in Geneva. Complete stop to Swiss Vijjas now
Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani claimed that the posters were an attack on Pakistan's sovereignty and demanded to know from Law Minister Zahid Hamid why the posters continue to be displayed in Switzerland even though Pakistan had summoned the Swiss ambassador and recorded its protest. "According to the United Nations' Charter, no country can allow its soil to be used against another state," Rabbani had stated. Senators had insisted on expelling the Swiss ambassador from the country, echoing Rabbani's demand from a day earlier. Switzerland has "real democracy" and not "sham democracy" , like in Pakiland !
Pakistan and India's longstanding dispute regarding the Jammu and Kashmir territory was hotly debated during last week's UN General Assembly session. On Sept 23, India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj took a swipe at Pakistan, telling the UN General Assembly that Islamabad had given the world "terrorists" while India was producing top-notch doctors and engineers. In her diatribe, she had said, "Pakistan is recognised only as the pre-eminent export factory for terror." Except Pakistan, no one objected to her speech !
Responding to the charges levelled by Swaraj Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi had said that India was using terrorism as a state policy. “Her comments towards my country betray the hostility that the Indian leadership has towards Pakistan —the hostility we have endured for 70 years,” Ambassador Lodhi had told the assembly. "Give" Kashmir and hostilities will disappear
The Pakistani diplomat had said that India's military occupation of the State was illegal as the UN Security Council had, in over a dozen resolutions, decided that the dispute must be resolved by enabling the people of Jammu and Kashmir to determine their own destiny through a UN-supervised plebiscite. :((

That editorial by DAWN shows, in all its glory, what is wrong with Terroristan. That editorial itself is completely hypocritical and superficial because it tries to find fault here and there except at the root.

The edit still justifies the end but finds fault only with the means. That, in short, is THE elephant in the room which no Terroristani sees or is conditioned not to see. There is no hope therefore for either Terroristan or the rest of the world from the terror emanating from Terroristan.

NAB Noose Tightens Around Ganja Sharif And His Family

Nawaz appears before NAB court; arrest warrants issued for Sharif children
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif appeared before a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court on Tuesday in connection with the three corruption references, DawnNews reported. The proceedings lasted for only a few minutes after which the former premier was allowed to leave. Sharif reportedly informed the NAB court that his wife was not well and he needed to attend to her, following which Sharif was granted permission to leave.
The NAB court then adjourned for 10 minutes before continuing with the normal case proceedings. All this was probably "pre - arranged" in advance so as to not to further "harass" the stressed out Ex PM !
The court has summoned Sharif again on October 2 for formally indicting him in the three separate references. Formal indictment on Oct 2, 2017 !. The court also issued bailable arrest warrants for Sharif's children Hassan, Hussain, and Maryam, and for son-in-law Captain Safdar. The court directed them to submit surety bonds worth Rs 1 million each to secure bail.
NAB's legal team also requested the court to order the interior ministry to place Sharif's name on the exit control list.
A number of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, including federal ministers, accompanied the former prime minister to his first appearance before the accountability court.
During the court appearance, some PMN-L followers started chanting slogans in Sharif's support inside the courtroom, annoying the judge Mohammad Bashir, who then asked the former premier to leave as his lawyers were there to represent him. Prearranged !
According to a report published by BBC Urdu, extraordinary security arrangements were made on the occasion and the general public was not allowed even within a kilometre radius area near the judicial complex. Other press reports indicated that police personnel of 15,000 + were on hand for this !
In addition to the extensive on-ground arrangements, two helicopters also kept circling the area throughout the time Nawaz Sharif was there. Another "Benazir" type scenario averted !
The most significant development of Monday was Sharif’s meeting with the former interior minister and estranged PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. The latter spent a considerable amount of time at Punjab House after holding a one-on-one meeting with the former prime minister.Chaudhry Nisar has been openly criticising PML-N’s strategy in dealing with the issues related to the military and judiciary and was critical of the party’s policy after the July 28 verdict of the apex court in the Panama Papers case.A senior PML-N leader and party office-bearers told Dawn that the Nawaz-Nisar meeting materialised due to the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who is still in London and expected to return in the next few days. Nisar, because of his ties with the fauj, probably served as an conduit between Ganja and the Deep State. !
The sources said that the former prime minister was not feeling comfortable due to a knee ailment, and was seen sitting in an unusual posture since he was unable to bend his legs.Psychosomatic or physical who knows
The Sharif family had earlier opted to boycott court proceedings. However, the sources said they changed their mind and decided to appear before the courts on the advice of a number of senior party leaders, including Shahbaz Sharif, and their lawyers.
NAB had filed three references against the Sharif family in connection with the London properties, the establishment of 16 companies, including Flagship Investment Ltd in the UK and Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metal Establishment in Jeddah. The former premier and his sons have been named in all three references, while Maryam and Capt Safdar have only been named in the Avenfield reference. Whether Ganja and his family will hang on to their ill-gotten wealth in spite of all this legal hassle remains to be seen !

Now if our government were really smart, they should have bought up all the key advertising spots in Geneva with right to sub-lease, then ran the Baluchistan ads for the first week and sat pretty till some ISI hack contacted them to rent the space for anti-India ads. We would then agree to give them the space but charge 6x of the going rate (including 1x to kick back). We would have not only paid for the Baluchistan ads but also made good money at Paki expense. They are that stupid and predictable.

I see your point but allow me to disagree with you and ask why not ? These Ummahs and OIC and such toothless organizations never bothered us in past so why now ..We have better things to do than to mull over what a resolution of such brain dead confederations opines.

I’d go a step further and say our military presence in Afghanistan is must to contribute to world peace , a moral obligation, of sorts . We have been doing that in UN peacekeeping missions since ages , only in this case its in our backyard where our presence is required and strategically a very crucial location.

Lets be clear , our efforts of rebuilding Afghanistan and economic aid will go only that far and not any further and will not earn us a seat in a roundtable of world powers that rewrite it’s destiny . India cant afford to close her eyes and not be a part of it and one way to gain an entry is through military presence of some sorts .

This is India of 2017 , pragmatic , fearless and confident of her abilities. The India of yore, the fence sitter of cold war era would have looked the other way if China was making merry in Dokalam , an area that didn’t belong to India . But this India looked into the eyes of China and forced them to retreat , that’s a sign of rising power.

Of course our military presence in Afghanistan requires cold and calculated deliberations and negotiations , weighing our options of pros and cons and extracting our pound of flesh so just a willingness to reconsider our longstanding position will go a long way to establish us a matured power in Asia.
