Morocco won against Spain, there were riots in Spain

Morocco won against Portugal, there were riots in Portugal

Morocco lost to France, there were riots in France

Morocco wins or loses, there be riots.

And the reasons are all religious.

from the net
Randomly the one actress that is being questioned happens to land unveiling the FIFA World Cup.

In of all places - Qatar. Giving a certain lobby the chance to present her as some sort of “global icon.”

Coincidence or ecosystem? Ecosystem.
Deepika Padukone was at FIFA World Cup to represent a commercial brand Louis Vuitton and not India.

She’s a brand ambassador for LV apparently.

The case holding trophy was Luis Vitton

Spin-doctors in the left-liberal cabal can even put Nazi propagandists to shame

That said, maybe 10 people in the stadium actually knew who she was.

Qatar-zakir naik-shahrukh- deepika. This is the order.

Would she have been the only brand ambassador of Luis Vuitton? I mean LV is not just some VIP moulded luggage brand. It is serious luxury. So her being put in there would have meant some heavy lifting behind the scenes by the powers that be. Also let us not forget, the finals was watched by more people in India than most other places.

India has, it seems, punched way below its potential in relation to TSP participation in international cricket.

With India's clout in cricket, India should have long ago ensured the TSP cricket team were sanctioned and in some smelly pig sty for TSP's continued use of terrorism as a State policy. TSP should have been banned from all international cricket from U19 to WC and everything in between.

Any cricketer from any country who plays in TSP or against TSP should, similarly have joined TSP in the above smelly pig sty and no IPL for sure.

All of the above would be par for the course given India's commercial clout in cricket. But for some reason the Mandarins in South Block have chosen not to go down this path.

Recall that SA was in this smelly pig sty during apartheid and were only allowed back into the global tent after dismantling of apartheid. Players who played in SA were also shoved into the pig sty with SA.

Too soft, we are, I say.

Even Super powers fight wars in groups ('Coalitions') else they risk getting hurt.. King Khan used coalition of nations to fight Saddam, the WoT was also a coalition.

The SA ban because of Apartheid was also done by England, Australia, NZ bunching together. And even during the banishment to the pig-sty, the nation of imperialist shop-keepers happily maintained trade and defence relations with nation of colonialist pig farmers...

+100. Presumably, India at the least, is maintaining the ban on playing TSP on either Indian or TSP soil(?). Only in third countries.

We are comparing different eras and different players at the helm
That was Apartheid and Black Power
Khan had to get involved given the Slave Trade miasma!
Britshits at the helm of ICC continued with supporting white pg farmers to emigrate or play in the lucrative county teams(during those days, if in doubt check Shiri Curran's pujya pithashri and where he comes from)
Now with SDRE control of the ICC(what with IPL) and International Islamophobia day(not withstanding International Yoga Day) you will be taken to the cleaners if one tries what some are suggesting.
But what with IPL blackout, no bilateral tourneys and Asia Cup possible no go TSP are in doldrums(not withstanding the recent tours. Have you seen the stadia's, completely empty. and PCB relying on TV money onleee)

^^^ Nice.
In other news, Rohit Sharma withdrew a Mankaded run-out by Shami of a Sri Lankan batsman on 98 in the recent ODI. This allowed him to complete his century. Contrast this with Sri Lankan behavior where Suraj Randiv deliberately bowled a no ball to deny Sehwag a century in an ODI in 2010.

They are unlikely to be citizens of UAE unless they have been given a special permit tp naturalize.

Every person in that picture seems to be an Indian. The question is whether Indian citizen sportspersons should be allowed to represent another national team. I'm not talking about competing in professional leagues. Of course whoever is organizing this event could always say that the teams are based on residency, i.e. perfectly fine for "Indians living in UAE" to play "Indians living in India". :rotfl:

It is a great song, especially if you understand Telugu. More so if you can grok the Telangana dialect of Telugu.

One more award for RRR Movie : The Critics' Choice Award for Best Foreign Film.

Noticed: Starts speech in Telugu.
Credits mother, sister-in-law and wife and daughter..
Woman in the family wearing saree.
SSR himself is wearing Indian wear.
Speaks Indian accent.
Concludes with a salute to Bharat.

అందరికీ నమస్కారములు.
मेरा भारत महान!

Glad that at the Golden Globe award ceremony the song was played in original Telugu..It has a very catchy alternation of long and short syllables that would be difficult to capture in a dubbing into another language... I have heard the song in Hindi - not bad but not as good as the original.

Sir -- FWIW: for many of us - the most attractive part is the heartburn of the slum-dog-lovings goras (and *many* more in such crowd in India) NYT/Wire type film critics...They are shocked that a movie like RRR can be nominated ... They are shocked that SSR ended his thanks with "मेरा भारत महान!" and not "Modi must resign"..

Now the heartburn is extra enjoyable .. Kashmir Files is "short listed' for the Oscars.. and these people are beyond themselves to fact check and find the finer meaning of "short list"

Kid you not - one has to see such trash to believe -- eg this kind of headlines inWire:
'Fact Check: Has 'Kashmir Files' Been 'Shortlisted' for Oscar Awards?'

India Open is going on.
They have upgraded the tournament to 750 level. So, all the top players are participating.
Sindhu lost in the first round and only the Men's doubles seem to have any chance of ending on the podium.

we wasted all these years and the many chances we may have had in the hollywood scene, including the oscars

we fed them regularly with poverty p0rn and satyajit ray type arty films

when all that hollywood and their ecosystem ever wanted was a hot bollywood number

And sadly, they don't know jack about Ilayaraja or anyone else, for that matter, and they don't care a damn because these maestros don't help pay their bills

can you imagine how our "legendary" allah rakha rahman is feeling right now.....

RRR is firmly rooted in the epics. Bheema associated with water - bheemasena thrown into ganga after he was fed poison by the kauravas. He reaches nagaloka and vasuki gives him antivenin and gives him 10K elephant strength. vayusuta anjaneya carried sree rama on his shoulders. In RRR, bheem (bheemasena is also vayu putra) carries (Alloori Seeta) Rama Raju on his shoulders in the climax scene. Ram helping Bheem with Jenny is a direct take on krishna helping arjuna win Subhadra/Ullopi etc. Bheemasena takes Hidimba (not of his race) as his consort. In RRR, Bheem takes Jenny as his consort.

B the way the best song of the movie is really "raamam raaghavam ranadheeram raajasam" but the sasmkrutam is hard to understand even for bharateeya.

Let us not do a blue on blue by pushing up subnational heroes (don't mind lekin, @IndraD avargal)

All these days (after the Harrison of Beatles, Shakti, and Ravi Shankar era), our youngsters had been dancing to their tune (of Tina Turner, Fifty cent, Taylor Swift, Madonna, ...). Now it is time that their youngsters dance to our tune - our folk tune and our folk dance.

naaTu means country, rough, folk, organic, commoner art, not sophisticated (sophistry-less), etc.

Let us not forget Elephant Whisperer(s?) which is nominated for an oscar in documentaries category.

That makes it two Indian works nominated for Oscars first time in history of Oscars.

BAFTA completely ignored RRR.

Yes, my bad. I thought "All that breathes: Elephant whisperer" is the title of the documentary. Even The Last PIcture Show is supposed to be very very good. They snubbed that. Well, we win some and lose some. But it is a great start for India. Hoping the day when Brishit and the west look forward to getting nominated for Indian awards - nandi wards, filmfare, etc.

Respectfully disagree :) You can't force people to like something just because you may like something( song, movie, TV show) coming from the country of those specific individuals. They deep down have to really like it. If they don't, that's their prerogative. It may well be that there is something intrinsic/innate in the particular item(pop/rock music etc) that makes people fans of it. Most indians would be drawn to US UK etc music bands not because they are Western, but because they are actually good.
