Arindam did a study a few years ago, showing 30% of TSP fund the jihadists

The article was not about Dawood sending in millions
the article said 10 lakh regular donors to SIMI

This is one reason for the Media thread. Doc . Want to crop my hairs before I came for Surgery. :)

I know that media does some sort of a "suppression" when it comes to publishing letters from the readers. I have observed one thing and guess where, in "The Hindu". They do put up letters in such a way that both opinions gets highlighted. For example today you find Kasim Sait et.al defending Jamia University's rights to defend its students (using University funds). This is the first part, but then later down the line you also find letters which echo the sentiments that University funds should not be used for the defence. People even suggest that the University head-honcho can defend the accused, provided he pays out of his pocket. :D

Aaj Tak channel reports three dead (including one child). Two people on bike dropped the bomb wrapped in a polythene and escaped. The blast was in the Mehruali's famous flower market. The channel is the first one on the site and showing lot of blood on the road. Eyewitnesses on camera are saying more people can be dead. The blast occured at 2:15 pm IST.

My in-laws live in Mehrauil and I know the area like the back of my hand.

UPDATE
The death toll has increased to four. About 15 to 20 people injured.

UPA Govts newfound interest in getting at the SIMI pigs (based on 2009 elections) is in
need of more activity it seems.

So multiple cells are at large, or the absconding from the delhi-mumbai cell had
stuff stored away elsewhere.

they are not backing away from a fight and lying low are they? they want a fight.

as per India Today, Rajmata told Lalu to STFU when he went to demand shivraj
patil's dismissal saying how can you who supported the SIMI openly, now demand
action for GOI not going after SIMI. for once Lalu is said to have skulked away
at a loss for words.

for all his faults, atleast Patil sahib doesnt seem to be a patron of the SIMI.

Seven killed, 15 injured in bomb blast in Delhis Mehrauli area

Seven dead is not a lot - and three were unproductive citizens (children)

As long as hindu terrorism exists this cannot be stopped. It is fully justified. Hindus need to look a themselves and see the pain they are causing minorities.

I am not surprised the bombers ran away. Imagine the lynching they would have got in the area. And they will not get legal assistance.

Don;t complain about deaths. many people are dying in India. Ask Mahesh Bhatt - he saw how people were shivering after stones were thrown. India is used to deaths. people are dying all the time. What about the living suffering that Muslims are going through every minute because of Hindu bigotry.

Has any one of you had the compassion to go and see the suffering of the people abused in the Jamia university area? I guess you guys were wasting your time attending some stupid police officers funeral. Mr encounter specialist kills himself in a fake encounter and you guys all mourn. LOL! Just think of the hell that the living are going through in the hands of the majority community. You ought to be ashamed.

And don't forget, there's no proof that Bajrang Dal didn't do it, just to paint Muslims in a bad light. Luckily the brilliant minds of our Left are able to suss out this trick of the Hindu oil merchants... :-(

the media is already letting us know about the kindness of the extremists. they did not
strike at the peak hours of 5-8pm but in the lean afternoon time. I guess we should be
thankful to our secular extremist brothers and not complain too much.

there is a piece of someone's skull with the patch of hair still attached lying in the
middle of the road. and pools of blood mixed with water in the lane. only a kannada
channel is showing that, the english channels are showing only the white chalk marks
where dead people were lying and one english channel has blurred out the blood pools.

all sanitized, secular and modern onlee.

This is very open blast. No remote control or planning needed for these kind of operations. They just threw the box while riding a bike on the lines of a paperboy throwing a news paper.

A 13-year-old boy was killed and 18 people were injured on Saturday when a low-intensity bomb exploded in a flower market in south Delhi, a fortnight after the national capital was rocked by serial blasts.

The blast took place at about 2:15 pm in the market in Mehrauli, close to the historic Qutub Minar, after two men riding a motorcycle dropped a tiffin box wrapped in black polythene bag.

Police Commissioner YS Dadwal, who visited the site, said one person was killed and 18 injured in the explosion.
Two persons came on a motorcyle and dropped the bag containing the explosive in the market, he said.

A child picked up the packet which exploded.

The explosive was dropped near an electronic shop and the blast shattered window panes of several adjacent shops.
Eleven of the injured were rushed to AIIMS where doctors said six were in critical condition.

The explosion comes exactly two weeks after the national capital was rocked by five near simultaneous blasts in wh
ich 24 people were killed.

Six people were killed and 15 injured in a blast in Mehrauli market in New Delhi [Images] on Saturday.

While the Delhi police refuses to confirm the number of dead or injured victims, those who live in Ward No. 8 at Mehrauli claimed that at least six persons were killed in the blast.

According to eye-witnesses, two men riding on a motorcycle dropped a black polythene bag in the market area and left. The bag exploded within minutes, killing three people on the spot while three more succumbed to their injuries later. Six injured victims are reportedly in a critical condition.

Delhi has been put on high alert. The injured have been taken to AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital.

The locals of Ward No. 8, mostly shop-keepers, voiced their anger at the lax security arrangements in the national capital, in spite of the serial blasts two weeks ago.

The were also angry at the delayed response by the police forces, which reached the blast site late

"The public rushed the injured to AIIMS, not the police," said an eye-witness.

Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that the party condemned the incident and paid its condolences to the victims. "This is a war against India and the government of India should deal firmly with the terrorists," he said.

Fire engines and ambulances have rushed to the spot. The shops in the locality have been shut down.

I have a serious question - Does Man Mohan suffer from Insomania or maybe Sonia does, and these regular blasts are to give them peace of mind so that they can sleep easy at night!!
Guys I have found out the root cause, Godhra, religion of peace, etc etc are all wrong reasons.
Remember when the blast happenned it was noon not evening (when the casuality hasve been high, as NDTV/CNN-IBN are telling us that we should be greatful to the terrorists), at that time Manmohan was in US, it was almost 12 midnight, he was not getting sleep so madam arranged this blast for him. Do you think that is possible.
Thanks,
fanne

this time even admitting the number of killed is being secularized. TV channels keep blaring
on about the 1 killed onree and low-intensity blast. they are not insane, clearly instructions
have emerged from the GOI to play this down. unknown 'sources' in delhi police are alleged
to have said this is not the work of a known terror module but more like some jama masjid
blast in 2006.

atleast half dozen in AIIMS are known to be undergoing emergency operations to save their
lives. few may have been declared brought in dead.

Suspected aide of serial blast militants held

New Delhi, Sep 20 (PTI) A suspected aide of the militants allegedly involved in the serial blasts here was taken into custody while he was giving an interview to a news channel.
Zeeshan, believed to be an aide of Atif who is alleged to have played a "key role" in the recent Delhi blasts, was taken into custody from the studio of a news channel last night, a senior police official said.

"We had information that a person will be going to the studio to give an interview on behalf of the militants. We picked him up from the TV studio for interrogation," the official said.

Asked whether Zeeshan was one of the two militants who escaped from yesterday's encounter site, the official refused to provide details but said he could be one of those who arranged logistics like a house or car or other things.

Delhi Police had yesterday killed two militants, who allegedly had "crucial" links to the Delhi blasts, in a fierce gun battle in Jamia Nagar of south Delhi.

While one militant, Mohd Saif, was arrested, two others managed to escape from the scene. PTI

Smaller module behind Delhi blast: IB

Jaipur, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Delhi again. The list seems to be endless. The pattern is getting too similar. A bomb blast occurs, the police cracks down on suspects and then another one goes off.

Intelligence Bureau officials say that the motive is pretty much clear in the latest Delhi attack. Although the Indian Mujahideen has not claimed responsibility for the blasts this time, the message of the outfit is very clear in this attack.

The IM had made light of the arrests in the aftermath of the Gujarat blasts and also challenged the police officials by saying, "Stop us if you can."

The IB says that the latest blast in Delhi was the handiwork of a smaller module. Larger modules usually employ smaller modules when the heat is raised against them. First and foremost, the heat on smaller modules is lower and a 24/7 tab is not kept on such modules.

The irony, however, is that terror cells have taken it upon themselves to recruit more and more persons. The ratio, according to the IB, is pretty alarming. For every one person arrested in the country, four more persons are being recruited. A recent report on the Students Islamic Movement of India also shows that the outfit has become so strong that it is capable of outsourcing people to other countries.

The IB says that the problem has become deep rooted and the war against terror has become tougher to fight in India.

Security agencies in the country have just woken up to the problem, but had kept quiet at the time recruitments were taking place.

A senior police officer from Bengaluru told rediff.com that the problem was that no one was keeping an eye on the largescale recruitments that were taking place within the country.

The interrogations conducted on various suspected militants suggest that a new modus operandi had been adopted by terror agencies the moment the heat was stepped up on the borders.

If one takes a close look ever since the Mecca Masjid blasts in Hyderabad, the use of foreign modules has stopped almost completely.

Another thing that was pretty much evident was that the use of RDX has come to a standstill since the Mecca Masjid blasts. While Neogel-90 was used in the twin blasts in Hyderabad, all the recent blasts have seen the use of ammonium nitrate, thanks to its easy availability.

The IB says that the infiltration of terrorists from across the borders have been successfully curbed to a large extent, but the worry is the growing number of recruitments in the country.

The police ought to keep a tab on smaller outfits, which will prove to be dangerous in the coming days. The affidavit of the home ministry before the Supreme Court also suggests that SIMI is operating through several frontal organisations.

According to the IB, these frontal outfits are capable of undertaking small operations, like the one that occurred in New Delhi today.

The death toll is surely greater than 1. To add to Singha's post I found one TV channel asking people to remain calm and indoors. They also said they're not over-playing the blasts. Somebody high up has made a call to tv stations and media houses already.

Rediff news portal page says 5 dead whilst the front page continue to say 1 dead.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad. Ultimately the truth needs to be said.

The secular crowd will observe radio silence now.

But not for long and not to condemn, but for reasons all too well known to us. Even now we shall figure out a way to rationalize this. We shall leave no stone unturned in this quest. Everything from events in the 7th century till date will be scoured to find out why they want to kill us. We must be at fault somewhere......

When the bomb blasts were conducted in the hyd, gujarat, ajmer and delhi , police had revealed had that there were around 100 active members of SIMI,IM,HuJi or LeT(does not matter by what name you call the pigs).

The mumbai, guj, delhi and kar police have altogether caught pigs less than that number of 100.

And whenever the police moves in to catch the pigs, shahi pigs start wailing about injustices.

So there are more pigs loose out there hiding in the gutters of jamia nagar and other peaceful ghettos who will no doubt try to mount other attacks.

So the best prevention measure against these attacks is to be physically keep away as far as possible from peaceful people.

We "fascists" and "unsecular forces" took this decision many years and this has prevented us from major harm.
Remember that the SIMI pigs in KIMS got caught before they could execute their murderous plan and yesterday the pigs again could not blow up the bridge.

Well the choice is your's.
Be a dhimmi and get killed by peaceful people or Be a non-dhimmi and wake up to the terrorist religion called islam.

We have been shouting time and again that our overall intelligence about the Muslims as well as Muslim terrorists is 0 on the scale of 0-10. How many more blasts will be required before we admit that we have absolutely no clue or any inkling over whatever happens in the country anywhere. I bet the next one will be very soon till the main culprits are nabbed. I guess we have to start living with this fear and for sure very soon there will be the days when kids will start telling their parents dont go to market papa or you will be blown. Terrorists will not terrorize the current generation but it will for sure make the next generation both disabled and terrified.

Im sure it must be the Banjrangis, the biggest terrorist group in the world....

This is just a conspirasy to defame innocent peace loving minorities. The fact that it happened just 2 km from Qutub Minar means that it has to be Hindu extremists scaring the minorities and targetting their monuments!!!

sometimes terror orgs ask their new recruitees to carry out operations to prove their worthiness.
Hope this is done by new IB infiltrators within the SIMI ranks. Sorry for the loss of life, but this
is a necessary evil. This is what S S Ray did at the height of naxal movement in Kolkata and rest of Bengal.
The police infiltrators did undertake some heinious acts to get close to the naxalite top ranks.

Re: Naming of these terror groups / Movements. There is a level of pakiness there plainly visible. It is not enough for the ISI to order terror attacks against Hindu India, these abduls want to give their H&D a fillup by taunting Indian Intelligence agencies and GOI. Because at the end of the day this is what is the reason for these attacks.
Sample this: Names of terror groups and their translations into Urdu

Khalistan = Pakistan. Both mean "Land of the Pure" their respective languages.
Students Islamic Movement (SIMI) = Taleban . Both are "Islamic students"
Indian Mujhaideen = Mujahideen.

These vermin need to have their nation and their lives destroyed. Their sad existence on this planet needs to be put to an end. These sickos in the ISI and the sorry cretins they entrap need to be dealt with severely.

I don't think Indian Intelligence agencies are sleeping. This terror game in India has just started. There is a long way to go, Pakistan is imploding, there will be consequences for us too. Ultimately for the intelligence and police the call is between taking out a cell they suspect, now and patiently wait as they discover and delve deeper into the rot. The current round of arrests shows how far we have to go before we can eliminate this group. There are supposed to be a dozen masters, we know of only one - publically atleast. moving in now will mean the others will simply melt away.
It is a patient and a mostly frustrating game, but there IS NO OTHER WAY TO DO THIS.

snipped of long rant.

Some people are still living in the taqiyya world of blaming intelligence failure and not having the guts to point out the problem is in islam and not in an intelligence organsization.
In a country which has over 150 million muslims then terrorist attacks by muslims are bound to happen.
Even if you have 100 intelligence organsizations and all co-ordinating with each other even then terrorist attacks will continue unabated.
If any person has doubts about the terror supporting verses, go read the koran before starting the familiar rant of "intelligence failure" and wasting others b/w.

Hold on. Yammering about Taqiyya is all well and good, but there is a fine line between being specific about who is the culprit here and making generalizations that will include large groups of regular Indian Muslims. There are a lot of innocent Indian Muslims, and writing inflammatory stuff that can put them in harm's way in unacceptable. Already people were making "rough estimates" of how many of them are in Pakistan's hand....that is already crossing the line. There are terrorist cells, and now it is becoming clear that entire localities are supporting such cells going by how the Inspector was killed and the entire community lied on the behalf of the terrorists. All that means is there are specific pockets like Azamgarh from where these guys are spreading, and they need to be caught. Speaking in generalizations about IMs, where IM can now mean "Indian Muslim" or "Indian Mujahideen" is not helpful.
