4 killed, scored injured in serial bomb blasts in Agartala, capital of Tripura.

Who could be behind this?

1) Baptist NLFT, as revenge against attack on Christians in other parts of India may have planted bombs in Durga Puja time

2) HUJI/ISI/DGFI/Al-Qeeda/assorted Islamists

Foreign forces behind Agartala blasts, say cops

Syed Zarir Hussain n Guwahati

Tripura Government officials on Thursday said foreign terrorists could be behind the serial bombings in the capital city of Agartala in which about 100 people were injured.

“The involvement of foreign hands is not ruled out,” Tripura Police chief Pranay Sahai told journalists. “We would not like to divulge any details now as investigations are in a preliminary stage.”

Five explosions in crowded markets and a bus station in Agartala on Wednesday night left about 100 people wounded, about 10 of them critically. The police initially said two people were killed in the blasts, but on Thursday the police chief denied any deaths.

India’s elite National Security Guards (NSG) and forensic experts found traces of ammonium nitrate in the explosives used in Wednesday’s serial blasts. “Ammonium nitrate mixed with fuel and iron pellets were used as ingredients for triggering the explosions,” the police chief said.

“The nature of the blasts and explosives used were similar to the serial bombings recently in New Delhi.”

The Government on Thursday sounded a maximum alert across the State and has put security forces in strength along Tripura’s border with Bangladesh.

Tripura shares a 856 km-long border with Bangladesh, a vast stretch still unfenced. “Security forces have been put on a state of high alert and all measures taken to identify the culprits or group involved in the bombings,” police spokesman Nepal Das said.

“We are committed to tackling terrorism with a firm hand,” Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said. This is the first time Tripura is witnessing urban terrorism with local tribal militant groups not known for triggering explosions and simply indulge in hit-and-run guerrilla strikes. “Definitely this form of urban terrorism is something new to Tripura,” Das said.

Wait and see.

Dont rush to judgement, gather all evidence and start cleanup from the BDesh borders and be ruthless. Well if LKG could not handle BDesh when BSF jawans were killed, then this GOI....

nowhere does it mention the "baptist connection". would like to know how you came to your above conclusion.

AGARTALA: Even as the All Tripura Tiger Force's hand in the Agartala blasts becomes clear, Tripura police in a major breakthrough on Sunday busted the hideout from where the bombs were made.

A diagram of a bomb, one memory card and tools like wire cutters, paper boxes of mobile sets used to trigger explosions were found from the site. The conduit is a nondescript building where two tribal youths used to stay as tenant until October 1 - the day serial blasts rocked the northeastern state. The two youths left the house soon after the blasts.

A statewide search was launched to hunt them down. Police also found some names and telephone numbers in the diary which is expected to give them vital clues.

"It was, indeed, a remarkable breakthrough into the serial bomb blasts. We hope to make further headway soon," said West Tripura district SP K V Sreejesh. The materials found would now be handed over to the forensic department.

ATTF is not an christian outfit, it is more of a tribal outfit, the NLFT on the other hand has support in senior levels of the tripura baptist church.
refering to the intellibriefs article which says that both the groups have joined hands to carry "joint operations" it may not mean much in the context of NE were many rivals militant outfits have joined hands at some point when their cadres and resources have depleted. if you have any material supporting the contention that ATTF is a "baptist inspired organization" i would welcome it.

I am not here to engage in the US-India type of "Show me the proof that Pakistan is behind the terrorist activities in India" even after they are provided all sorts of proof. If the above post does not satisfy you it does not mean that ATTF is not something and more something. I couldn't care less about what you think of the ATTF. Peace

most of them have
(a) common back end in BD camps, fundings and logistics
(b) some ties to the mother all of such orgs - the NSCN

to sustain themselves they depend on
(a) foreign funding
(b) local extortion
(c) protection money
(d) legitimate business in BD like transport, shops, fish, textiles

BD like the body of the octupus with many diverse tentacles reaching
into India to cause damage.

singha ji, beyond the fact that both started with church support, do tripura terrorists have connections with NSCN ? that's news to me !
could you elaborate please ?

the reason for bd supporting all these groups is the bangla version of nazi lebensraum and it's aim of "growing more muslims".
