That Paki FM should not have been allowed to continue his sojourn in India after this happened and we had evidence. Certainly, he should not have been given air time ? We have not learnt anything from the Musharraf fiasco at Delhi media breakfast.

I think there is a fear on the part of the West that India
might be forced to retaliate against Pak in some form and
they don't want to see that. Hence they avoid using the
P word and highlight things like the overtures made by
Pak politicians towards India.

Meanwhile: Pak troops violate ceasefire
Jammu, Nov 28 (PTI) Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian positions along LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, the second ceasefire violation in as many days, a senior army officer said today.
Pakistani soldiers fired on Indian position in Tarkundi belt along Line of Control in Poonch district 2100 hours last night, the officer told PTI.

The intermittent firing continued for over an hour.

another tiresome planeload of goras to show around:

Interpol said it would send a delegation to India.

"When such coordinated and planned terrorist attacks are carried out against international targets and when a country's head of government states there are suspected 'external linkages', the police in the country concerned require international assistance," said Interpol's Secretary General Ronald K. Noble

CNN: US Military offers help

I cannot believe whom to trust - one minute you hear all hostages cleared, all pigs dead - the next minute you hear hostages still held, 10-20 pigs still lurking around. Really stupid, confusing reporting.

I know that we don't have detailed info of the situ at the Taj,but it now seems that all /almost all guests and hostages are safely out of the hotel. Therefore, knowing that a live terrorist is better than a dead one to discover the truth of the mastermind and the plot, instead of firing RPG rounds and anti-tank munitions ,why not try firing gas grenades instead of heavy rounds as is being done through the Taj's rooms' windows? I say this because we seem to see several heavy rounds being fired into the same room sometimes. In such confined spaces how many rounds can a terrorist survive? With good optical/IR surveillance,as is being done,we can determine which rooms are being used and what best method to take out the terrorist /capture him alive. We must also learn from this event and equip our forces with the latest eqpt.,some of which can supposedly identify individuals through walls.I also do not understand why powerful searchlights have not been used so far at night, which could have also been directed from the sea/waterfront to determine occupants of rooms and spaces.

There also appears to be a serious "inside job" angle in both hotels,as the attackers knew their way around and must've had some inside help as the quantity of weapons, ammo and explosives that we are told they have,to secret these supplies inside. That some "guests' could've brought these supplies of weaponry concealed in their luggage ,in suitcases bearing airline tags, which would not be properly checked unless X-ray machines are locatd at entarnces to hotels,as is being done in all airports. In future, there must be an interim space/verandah before hotel entrances, preferably as far away from the main building as possible, where luggage can be thus checked and even if a bomb goes off damage is lessened. We saw this at the Marriot blast in Pak.Every hotel in the future should also have sniffer dog/s.The "tradesman's entrance, where hotel staff enter is another vital area of vulnerability as hotel staff get familiar with security staff and slip-ups can take place.

Does this say anything!

Pak troops violate ceasefire: Army
Fri-Nov 28, 2008
http://newsx.com/story/36631
Jammu / Press Trust of India
Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian positions along LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, the second ceasefire violation in as many days, a senior army officer said on Friday.
Pakistani soldiers fired on Indian position in Tarkundi belt along Line of Control in Poonch district 2100 hours (IST) on Thursday, the officer said.
The intermittent firing continued for over an hour. Indian troops did not respond to the "provocative" acts.
"This is second ceasefire violation by the Pakistan in less than 24 hours along LoC in J&K," he said.
On November 26, Pakistani troops fired on Indian post in Khour Border Out Post along LoC in Jammu district in which one Havaldar Pratap Singh of 9 Raj Rifles was critically injured.
The violation of the four-year-old truce came despite an assurance from Islamabad last month that no cross firing would be resorted to.
Two BSF jawans were injured shelling from Pakistan on Indian posts of Durga and Naka-11 in Jammu border on November 4.
This is 38th ceasefire violation since January 2008 and seventh in Sabzian sub-sector where two jawans were killed in September.
Also, over 132 infiltration bids have been reported in the last nine months from across the LoC in which 80 militants have been killed.

DDM is screwing things up. e.g. nariman house, RAF guys came out with thumbs up and immediately the DDM were braying about it being all over. Now NSG has come out and slapped a few idiots and said its still ongoing.

btw - interpol has been invited in - ostensibly to help with identifying identities of attackers and possibly victims; apparently routine. involved countries may send their specialists to assist in case of need of 'local knowledge' related to their citizens

i am trying to figure out if we can account for all 20+? pigs - my big worry is that there are more of them running around out there waiting for a second strike

Thought only one terrorist has been captured and he was plain old Pak :

There were at least 3 taken alive, but mumbai police "Reliablly leaky intelligence-devoid agents" told Sheela Bhatt, per India-Abored, that 6 has been arrested (that may be 6 passersby completely unrelated to the crimes)

The Paki who was squealing was the one ID-ed as being from "Faridkot, Pakistan" (Is that close to Bangalore, Kerala?) Evidently two of others may be from "Leeds, Pakistan" and "Brighton, Pakistan".

Nariman House eyewitness report

Large portion of it quoted below:
Keith Bradsher, a Times correspondent, is sending The Lede updates from his BlackBerry as he watches a commando operation taking place at the Nariman House, home to the Orthodox Jewish group Chabad Lubavitch, and around Mumbai. The time stamps are London time (GMT). Mumbai is five and a half hours ahead of his timestamps. The most recent posts will be added to the top of this post.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 12:55
After watching events all day at Nariman House and giving regular updates on the seige there, Keith Bradsher is now moving on across the city. He has gone first to the military compound, seeking any new information on the status of the assaults on the hotels and Nariman House. There is still great uncertainty about who was responsible for the attacks and why it has taken so long for the Indian Army to overcome the attackers. But he sends this:

The military has just refused to let me into their compound at all and has no comment here.

After covering the events for several hours, Keith is signing off for now but will give us an audio update later.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 12:42

The most powerful explosion so far shook Nariman House, prompting a small stampede in the streets by gawkers who suddenly sought to distance themselves from the building.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 12:00
The Indians are sending a fresh set of commandos in black uniforms and heavy body armor into the buildings around Nariman House and withdrawing commandos in blue or black uniforms who have been in action all day.

For the first time today, a van with six medics in surgical gowns and masks has just driven up close to Nariman House in a possible sign of casualties.

Three heavy blasts have just been heard in as many minutes.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 11:42
At least eight shots have been fired by what sound like assault rifles at Nariman House as the attackers seem to continue to repulse the Indian army’s best efforts to defeat them.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 11:38
Another heavy explosion has shaken Nariman House.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 11:30
Two more heavy blasts have echoed from Nariman House, with no accompanying sounds of gunfire.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 11:26
Another heavy blast has just erupted at Nariman House.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 11:22
The police are now trying to push the crowds back another block around Nariman House.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 11:18
A heavy blast at Nariman House has just startled a large flock of pigeons into the air. It was followed by a trio of smaller, almost simultaneous blasts, like three grenades. After a pause of a brief moment, another heavy blast sounded, then heavy gunfire for a few seconds, then a heavy blast followed by a lighter blast. Sporadic shooting continues.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 11:11
Two fairly powerful explosions have just shaken Nariman House. The military is still providing no information on their siege of the building.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 11:10
The Indian army has not tried to clear residents from more than a radius of a block or two around combat sites. That radius might be adequate to protect spectators from grenade blasts, but it won’t save them from bullets fired by high-powered rifles, which can be deadly over distance of a couple miles.

The roads, rooftops and balconies around Nariman House are now crowded with over a thousand local gawkers. It is not clear if any have been injured.

During my time today near Nariman House, I have mostly been about 75 yards away on the roof of an apartment building of similar height to Nariman House. This rooftop has an 8-inch-thick, 10-foot-tall concrete wall on the side toward Nariman House, to protect against burglars climbing over from the next building. The building’s freshwater tanks, made of black plastic and about six feet high and five feet wide and fairly full of water, are just inside the wall, together forming a sturdy barrier against stray bullets. It is easy to look around the edge of the wall at Nariman House and then draw back to thumb-type on my BlackBerry.

But most here have no such protection.

Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 10:45
A flurry of shots has just sounded from inside Nariman House, to which I have just returned. A team of Israelis who specialize in searching and securing sites after terrorist attacks just arrived here from Israel and said that they had been told that they might be allowed to go into the building soon. There has still been no official word on the fate of the rabbi and his wife who were living at Nariman House at the time of the assault.

Yup cant agree more , Indian commandos did a great job out here , no reason to hire a mercenary from US or Israel , we are second to none.

I think this is the first time the Indian Special Forces have been used in real combat in such a manner and they jolly well did a splendid job.

I think they (the US and Israel) may want to help out in the equipment front. These buggers have denied most of the most sensitive stuff that our commandos required.
Perhaps some of that heat seeking scopes that can see through walls stuff that you see all over hollywood - Stuff that makes life easier for the hero kinda thingies.

So far as the action itself is concerned, Patriotism apart - No nation and certainly not a nation the size of India allows foreigners in to run the show in domestic ground; Only our guys can perform adequately enough because of their familiarity with language, locations, building types etc.

India should not allow any foreign commandos or investigative agency any oppurtunity to do anything. Just show them what has been accomplished, and just proof, without them being allowed to collect anything and extract anything for further analysis.

Reason: Incompetence in previous cases where help was offered. No access to their citizens unless their citizens request it first.

Demanded? DDM is reporting that MMS 'urged'.

In any case, it will be a waste of time. He will deny with a straight face, say there is no evidence bla bla, and it will end up in a mud slinging match between India and TSP; with Unkile doing his routine equal equal.

I would say a better strategy for a start would be for India to show evidinece that it has to US/UK (just show not hand over evidence lest they destroy it and protect TSP), and demand from them that some UN-type action against TSP is required. For a strat some kind of sanctions and a resolution to shut down LeT and hand over the leadership piglets.
