He didn’t eject because A/C was over the village and could have taken many lives, so he went down with his plane.
To be clear: the pilot didn’t eject, he was EJECTED involuntarily from his Jaguar after touchdown at Jamnagar. A very troubling accident investigation lies ahead for the Indian Air Force.

A MIG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force on Wednesday crashed in Patta Jatian village in Jawali area of Kangra district. Confirming the crash, Kangra Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Patial said that the crash occurred around 1.30 pm. The aircraft had taken off from the Pathankot air base in Punjab, he said.
