:(

A quote from J.R.R Tolkien sprang to mind -

"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend"

Air Commodore Sanjay Chauhan, one such warrior, gave the ultimate proof of his love for his people being even more than his love for his weapon.

The pilots Ejection was the accident

https://twitter.com/livefist/status/1005003101206667264
To be clear: the pilot didn’t eject, he was EJECTED involuntarily from his Jaguar after touchdown at Jamnagar. A very troubling accident investigation lies ahead for the Indian Air Force.

It could be the G switch for the Jaguar plane ejection seat.

Who makes the ejection seats?
Martin Baker?

One of the worst threads to read. In the last 6 weeks, two Jaguars, one Su-30MKI and one MiG-21. The loss of two pilots is even worse.

Whew. That's good.

PS:

Twitter video of pilot on the Ground courtesy: Shreya Dhoundial @shreyadhoundial

"I was alone. I am fine." The @IAF_MCC pilot who ejected safely moments before his MIG 27 burst into flames in Jodhpur.

I do hope that he is ok and that there are no major internal injuries.
