I knew he was kiddin about the car parking part, but not about the clearing cache part. :) Anyways GE images for Delhi are really old. South Delhi seems to have a 2004 look.

Sir the sugessation to tilt the Desktop /Laptop at 45 degree is just senseless. I fail to understand how tilting the PC /laptop will accomplish anything. It is simplly unrealistic.

May I :)

Actually the battery pack is at the top end of the chassis. Tilting it causes a potential delta to help the charge flow down easier to the CPU.

I know everyone over here is taking google earth pics of India, what about Pakistan. They have the same issue. Could someone post screen shots of the PAF Sargodha. When I was looking at it on Google Earth, you could quite clearly see an AH-64 Apache, few J7s, and there were something like almost 25 Hardened Shelters for the planes. There were also some mounds to the south end of the airbase, which looked very simliar to missile silos. I didn't know what to make of it but maybe if someone could post those pics we can all chime in.

Where did you see the Apache? All I could see were three Mi-17s.

BTW, I can see an F-104 on the northern side.

I had seen an apache on the northern end of the air base about two of them. Unless they updated the pictures. check the northern runway running from the NE to SW. I also remember seeing the F-104.

Sargodha is a huge complex. No wonder the IAF had so many issues trying to disable this airport. It looks really well maintained. Can't seem to find the SAM sites though. Would be interesting to find those.

Quite sure. Apaches have four-bladed rotors. Mi-17s have five-bladed ones.

I just noticed that. Hmmm... wasn't mushy letting Bush use some of these airbases for the war in afghanistan?

i think on the contrary its important to know about our Pakistani neighbors. Gives us a good snapshot of what our friends are capable of mounting against us.

Siachen also looks pretty clear now. Couldn't find any IA positions though. well hidden from the prying eyes of satellites

Paki bases are good. Nice architecture and planning. They are truely designed nicely with proper planning and thought process. ..can get an aircraft up in the air from almost anywhere. I really like their bases. Good ground infrastructure.

you guys are right. ahaha :D :D :D :D :D

At least think and research your statements before you post. Both countries have well designed and implemented AFB.

That is why India covets thems and want them for themselves, but that means also owning the the damn Pakisatani cities and farms and people. So cleanup (erase) the men and get the coveted airfields ;) and the human left (ummm even better than the airfields)

Looking at Paki bases most are like the IAF bases except for Sargodha. That is a truely massive complex with multiple runways. I haven't seen an IAF base with that kind of infrastructure. Most IAF bases are single runway bases which is kinda bad because if you take out the runway, there is no backup.

Easy access to satellite data endangers security: panel

Bangalore, Nov 29. (PTI): With private players gaining easy accessibility to satellite data, the Space Commission is working on a comprehensive legal document on issues related to outer space to ensure that internal security is not endangered, a top official said today.

"Remote sensing satellites are focusing on all important installations and a number of agencies like Google Earth are buying such data and placing it in the public domain, which can be a potential danger to internal security," said G Madhavan Nair, chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation and Space Commission.

Nair said, "We are talking to Google Earth to see how this can be tackled and whether sensitive areas can be blacked out."

There is also a need for a strong legal luminary who can think about problems relating to outer space, he said while delivering an address on legal issues related to space at the Indian Law Institute here.

Another key issue related to space is debris, which can be a potential disaster. "We have 8,000 such objects in various altitudes in space which need to be handled," he said.

Nair said, the Space Commission has made certain recommendations like neutrallising some components as soon as a satellite is launched and shifting satellites that have completed their service life to a graveyard orbit.

Geo-stationary satellites will be kicked out of the geo-stationary orbit as soon as the launch is over, he said.
The question is not if it can be blacked out... just check important defense areas in the USA, everything is blacked out, including all launch centers.

Did GoUSA paid google for this? google has something to answer now.

Google has also black out some of the french nuclear power stations. I dont think google will create any trouble in blacking out sensitive indian sites.
