Really cool.. the cobra is a cold blooded killer and the sniper has some icy cool nerves. I think female Kings (Queens?) build nests.. so hope this one didn't look at the Ghillie suit as a suitable build

Got to mention the coolness of the spotter too

Movie for the masses, don't expect accuracy. At least this is a bit better than many others, they are using an Indian fighter for a change. :rotfl:

My worry is that IAF may revise specs of Astra-3 to omni-role, attack ground/ariel targets. ;)

Trailer of Sam Bahadur! Upcoming movie (December 1st) on Field Marshal Shri Sam Manekshaw.

Directed by Meghana Gulzar (Raazi which was pretty bad, as it changed the real end of the story). I am not sure if she will be able to do justice on the life of Swargwasi Field Marshal Shri Sam Manekshaw-ji.

Is there any book that gives a strategic yet comprehensive view of the 1971 war ? Something similar to "Crusade in Europe" by Dwight D. Eisenhower that covers European theatre in world war 2.

Screen shots from the newly released movie, Operation Valentine.

https://x.com/_devildog_rv_/status/1736 ... 54363?s=20 ---> Not too different from your average Indian masala movie. Best things are actual shots of airbases, interiors and cockpit shots. Technical errors still exist (Pictures 3 and 4) here too. What missile is Mirage 2000 firing on a ground target? Also, let's not talk about maneuvers.

https://x.com/Ray70409890/status/173673 ... 06632?s=20 ---> In Picture #3, Mirage 2000 is firing a 80mm S-8 unguided rocket from a B8V20A rocket pod. Russian. Isn't integrated on Mirage 2000s.

Why should there be a heroine and romance in otherwise action movie ?.. Looks like no matter how good is the story, screen play, and the Hero and other actors, direction ,editing and other sophistication, Desi movies very badly need a Heroine to do the ticket sale.

No one will come to watch a movie, if there is no romance and heroine. We SDREs are like this onlee :)

At the end of the day, the movie has to make money for the producer. And if that means romance and heroine, then so be it.

Obviously the romance/heroine is not real, but then who is coming to watch a movie to remind them of their reality? We watch movies, to escape reality for a few hours.

..
How true.. there was a romance and heroine even in a subtle (or subdued) 'bollywood' war movie - 'Vijeta'.

That movie remains my all time fave 'bollywood war movie' till date. Doubt it made money for the producer though.. (Shashi Kapoor was a producer)

Come to think of it i missed the romance angle in it entirely, probably because i was not even a teenager when i first saw it.... and then on repeated viewings it is the other romantic relationship angle which hits.

I think Vijeta is probably the finest war ( perhaps armed forces background) movie ever produced in India.

Disclaimer: I have very strong feelings about this chap's "review" of Roos' performance in the Warzone.
But I urge everyone to hear this kid out on Bharata Varsha's DPP Tamasha.
Also for those who seek external validation on the entire horse manure that was the Bhishma Vs. Arjun saga, listen closely.

V_Raman Saar,
the same movie was remade in Bollywood with Akshay Kumar as Holiday i believe. It would be difficult to make these kind of films now with the main theme being sleeper cells in the country and the ROP'ers being shown the way they were.

Thuppakki had its fair share of controvery, slogans, protests, apologies, and deleted scenes. I dont think it will be an issue to take such movies as long as it is similar to thuppakki without reference to some relious keywords.
