the mission is not a intercept scramble. can take their time within limits.

Part2.

20,000ft and slowly climbing in a shallow slope the four black birds broke through the cloud cover and
emerged into the white panorama of a moonlit night.

many kms to the north, the blinking lights of a civilian jetliner flying on a northerly track to delhi was visible
for a few minutes...else the stage was clean and silent.

Ahuja flight had automatically switched to 'discover node' mode on takeoff and the fighter data link
was tight between the four. only the third a/c of the formation had its Pantsyr switched on and that in
low power air navigation mode, the other three received the feed passively. This both gave them routine
practice in passive mode work and saved the life of costly RF front end components in the Pantsyr,
which like all such high power exotic components had a certain design life.

consulting the center part of his screen which was a radar display, he saw the slowly moving tagged tracks
of numerous passenger flights flying back and forth....the iff system automatically interrogated their
transponders and updated known details as available....one IL76 enroute from chandigarh to the south..
..a few business jets (heading to tirupati to atone for the CEOs sins he thought wryly)

suddenly a scowl came to his face inside the mask when he spotted the much quicker traces of four
eurofighters crossing perpendicular and proceeding south around 50km ahead. the typhoon had been
selected as the MRCA after much delays and finally started arriving in 2015, to form the first FOC squadron
in 2017. under pressure from India, the EF consortium had run extra shifts to deliver more a/c in
flyaway and SKD condition to speed up induction. Now there were three full squadrons already and two
more forming up.

he was not worried about their presence, there was a night exercise scheduled over north karnataka with
tejas squadron based out of sulur and these hindon based fighters were proceeding as expected.

his thoughts turned to the incident a year ago which nearly ended his flying career....

it was supposed to a friendly DACT exercise 4-vs-4 between his flight and 4 typhoons flying out of jorhat in
the east. it started well, with both formations topping up and arriving at the designated start points 200km
apart on time. then one of his flight developed some engine issues and warning lights blinked wrt to the
fuel system. Ahuja had ordered the pilot to return immediately to base on one engine which he did.

the engagement started and the EFs drew the first simulated 'blood' by downing one of the Pakfa's with a bvr
shot. Ahuja then realized something was really wrong when radar spotted two more EFs flying in behind the
leading four to join them. this was not supposed to be in script but apparently a miscommunication had
made it thus - jorhat launched six as per their info.

contacting the EF leader over the radio, Ahuja had attempted to bring it back on track, but unwisely the EF
leader, who had a major ego refused and 'dared' Ahuja to come and get him.

a challenge was a challenge and could not be turned down. it was "game on" from there. the rulebook got
burnt in the exhaust as both sides punched afterburners and closed in.

Ahuja managed to contact a lone pakfa which was almost done tanking up from a Midas 150km away during
a training sortie over the secure radio. dropping the pipe, his man raced up behind the boss to refill the
missing slot in the troop of four.

meantime, base was asking on the radio about these unexpected matters and demanding a explanation and
a sticking to the script. Ahuja shut that channel down.

forming up their pantsyr radars for a co-ordinated jamming attack they flew line abreast but spread 10km apart from wingtip to wingtip in a matter of seconds....closing at a combined mach3, the EF radars were
mercilessly jammed and in any case had a limited range of 25km against the pakfa airframe in head-on
engagement.

this closed the option of bvr shots. it went down to wvr. the EF was superbly manouverable and thrusty but
the pakfa had advantages in the vertical plane. using slash and run tactics on full afterburner, bigger contron surfaces... his boys were soon flying their wedge shaped noses almost into the amber tailpipes of typhoons trying to escape....

while all this was happening, the combat drifted out of the designated area and into a civilian airlane at 25000ft with two approaching 737 flights loaded with 253 passengers. alerted by the bleeping of the TACACS
the 9W pilots took evasive action as far as the 737 airframes permitted, banking hard 60' and diving
to lower altitudes for safety....all hell broke loose on board as people were spilled out of their seats and
food and food trays went all over the place. a airhostess of petite but voluptuous stature was deposited unceremoniously onto the lap of a young member of a web forum enroute to blr for a aviation show. recovering from this shock attack of perfume and feminine pulchritude, he managed to help her up and wipe the red lipstick marks from his spotless white zodiac shirt...thinking what his wife would say.

the pilots reported the mid air emergency but finding no passenger needing medical aid continued on their
way. their reports were duly filed to the DGCA by a furious airline management on the same day. passengers
were told it as unexpected mid air turbulence, rendered first-aid, given a samosa coupon and ushered out.

all hell was breaking loose on the ground as furious phone calls were flying back and forth between gwalior,
jorhat, delhi with weighty personages like eastern air commander AM Rathore himself being patched in...he
promised to make sure "the man responsible flies nothing more dangerous than a mothballed krishak plane in
his life ever again" 8)

with gun camera and HUD video duly collected, Ahuja and his troop wagged their wings and escaped at
high supersonic. the EF leader, low on fuel and morale after getting his ego punctured decided to call it a
day and turned east for his Midas....

back on the ground, the word has spread and the entire two squadrons of pilots and WSOs whoever was
on base was whispering and talking in the officers mess when the planes landed and headed for the HAS.

spies had already been posted outside the CO's office to report what was soon expected to shouted inside.

the CO, group captain Sahu - a grizzled veteran of #24 hawks considered his options. he was the only thing
that stood between the boys and the desk jockeys armed with flamethrowers already lining up as a lynch mob.

finally after the expected dressing down , he let his boys go while he dealt with the managerial class. a
telepresence was soon started using the tp room supplied by netz to all major bases
and using the IAFs dedicated fiber links.

after a hour of heated discussion with air HQ, Sahu shut them all down with "look I know these boys have
violated several dozen rules and technically should be court martialled, but think about it - when the s*** hits
the fan, someone has to go out 24x7 and clean up the mess...who would you have on your team...a guy who
scores 10/10 in exams and follows all the rules but flounders at crunch time or a guy who may score 7/10
but knows the practical aspects of making it happen? I can't replace these boys and neither can you. were
you not this way when you were on flying duty?"

finally AM Sen hid his smile and closed the session with some administrative punishments like docking a
month of pay and mandatory safety procedures class and psychological counselling for a week for the errant pilots. Sahu sir decided not to mention that psycho councelling by their empanelled expert from the gwalior
central hospital was unlikely to alarm the boys, as the said expert was a young lady doctor of no uncertain
smartness and beauty given the number of 'patients' and 'troubled souls' who had queued up for her first
visit a couple of months back. chuckling to himself he closed the telepresence room and called for his jeep.

the matter would have been hushed up and ended there had not one of the EF pilots been from delhi. a
week later he went on a short leave and hooked up with his st.stephens alum fiance' who just happened
to be a investigative reporter for a prominent english TV channel based in GK/okhla new delhi. after a night
of passion, he wanted to share his story to decrease the stress.....the next day the media firestorm broke
"Arrogant IAF endangers civilian lives" "DGCA furious at breach of norms" "Aap ki awaaz: barkha das: does india even need a killer AF?" "your manch: *ing mandakini haider: killers in khaki - who will bell the cat?"
"the daily muzzafarabad trumpet: should IAF be disbanded?"

IAF Spokesman was instructed to blandly deny everything. the EF pilot had a involuntary "1:1 coaching session"
with a cold faced air commodore on a visit from delhi and decided to restrict his datalink with his girl to just
passionate matters only.
----

Ahuja's thoughts drifted back from the night as a bright blue icon started coming closer from the top left
of his screen...still 300km away....

the Midas was here. time to top up.

at 30,000ft and somewhere over south-eastern Rajasthan, the flight levelled off and started tracking Ahuja's
plane homing in on the beacon of the Midas.

to be contd.

dont worry, since I have to play at being a obedient dog during weekdays, I will be active only during weekends most likely.

the next episode is going to be fairly grisly and gothic. people with tender stomachs might not like it.

IAF FLIGHT IF 301-LCH X 1 -MALE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT -1130 HR

Major general Ray Strapped into the passenger seat as the rotor overhead started picking up speed with standard shrill whine of the turbine .He wanted to have a look see of the outer defenses but first checking up the air defenses of the adjoin islands ,starting with Male islands and then a quick circuit of the whole island chain and then refuel and a quick look at the oceans around at low level for a quick recon if time permits and the weather holds .
Hindustan's Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) program was first announced in November 1984,the ALHwas designed with assistance from MBB in Germany. The twin 1000 shp Turbomeca TM333-2B turboshafts are mounted above the cabin and drive a four-blade composite main rotor. The ALH makes use of an advanced integrated dynamic system which combines several rotor control features into an integrated module. The civil prototype ALH (Z-3182) first flew on 23 August 1992, at Bangalore, followed by a second civil aircraft (Z-3183), an Army version (Z-3268) and a navalised prototype (N.901) with Allied Signal CTS800 engines and a retractable tricycle undercarriage.Even after the first prototype flew in August 1992, problems arose due to the changing demands of the Indian military, funding, and contractual issues with Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm, which was the consultant for design. Further delay was caused by U.S. sanctions after Indian nuclear tests in 1998, which embargoed the engine originally intended to power the helicopter. Then the helicopter used Turbomeca TM 333-2B2 turboshaft producing 746 kW (1000 shp) each and an agreement was signed with Turbomeca to develop a more powerful engine.
HAL is also developing the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) based on the Dhruv platform for the Indian Armed Forces. It will have stub wings fitted to carry up to eight anti-armour missiles, four air-to-air missiles or four rocket pods for 70mm and 68mm rockets. The LCH will also have FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared), CCD (Charge Coupled Device) camera and a target acquisition system with thermal sight and laser rangefinder.
Recent versions of the Dhruv entering production use the more powerful Shakti engine developed jointly by HAL and Turbomeca. The first test flight of the Dhruv with the new engine and the weaponised version took place on 16 August 2007. HAL Dhruv is of conventional design and about two-thirds by weight of composite construction. The high tail boom allows easy access to the rear clamshell loading doors. The four-bladed hingeless main rotor can be manually folded. The blades are mounted between cruciform-shaped carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic plates on a fibre elastomer constructed rotor head. The helicopter is equipped with an active vibration control system developed by Lord Corporation of North Carolina that uses sensors to monitor on-board conditions and outputs signals to actuators to cancel fuselage floor vibrations. The cockpit section of the fuselage is of Kevlar and carbon-fibre construction and is fitted with crashworthy seats. The aircraft is equipped with a SFIM Inc. four-axis automatic flight control system. The navigation suite includes a global positioning system, a Doppler navigation system, distance measuring equipment, a true air speed indicator, automatic direction finder, a heading reference system, radio altimeter, VHF Omni directional ranger and instrument landing system (VOR/ILS) and marker beacons. The communications suite includes HF, UHF, and VHF radio communications.
Up in front the pilots warmed up to their long flight ahead as the formalities of taking of from a busy international air port commenced
-male tower –IF 301 –request permission for priority take off –over
-IF 301 –male departure control –stand by –we have several incoming –
- 9W 454 –cleared for approach –
- Cleared for approach -9w 454- reducing altitude to 500 meters
-KL 43 exit runway when able – contact ground on frequency 112.5 –over
- Tower -9W 454 – to land
-9W 454 –cleared to land on runway 27 L –
- IF 301 – cleared for immediate take off – use own navigation –you are cleared to class B airspace transition –over
- copy that tower –thanks- rolling now – climbing to 1000 meters –heading 250 –over –shall contact Male centre once reach cruise altitude and cleared class D airspace –over
Major general Ray never liked the lurching ride on a chopper and the ever present smell of aviation turbine fuel and strict no smoking policy on all IAF flights but at least it was better than a T-72 thought he as the small chopper neatly lifted off, pivoted on its axis ,dipped its nose and moved out over the air port area on a south westerly direction . It will turn again almost due north course once clear of air port approach glide path and fly straight into Male city –make a quick circuit over the city centre ,the coast and then head out to north Mae atoll where the main air defense of the island was located and also not known to many a pair of anti ship missiles launcher have been positioned but not yet operational .No one expected a sea threat at the moment and that assumption will prove to be a costly one in the days to come .

I hope everyone remembers that the F-22 program has been canceled for good. It never progressed beyond proof-of-concept despite being built in huge numbers. It can't operate in high humidity environments because the AR coatings degrade. It is highly susceptible to EM interference and has a v.limited capabilities in any mode. Not the kind of program we shd be looking at. The F-35? That's another matter...

could be....but lets not forget sher khan can and will build A/C igloo hangers to house his toys and have the
refueling muscle to stage them far and wide. a bit of gora skin being sunburn/rain sensitive isnt going to deter
sher khan. people who cannot print the worlds reserve currency freely have to seek items of less delicate nature.

they spent $1b in al-udeid airbase in qatar.

Well, we've had 2 scenarios running parellel to each other before (Singha/Shankar, Vivek/Shankar), so we jingoes really do not have a problem (i hope i'm speaking for the vast majority of rakshaks here). However, if mods feel that BRF must evolve with changing times and requirements then they are free to create a separate thread!

SS-1 was wrapped up in a hurry, so the finished product doesn't look, well, finished. I did some work to bring it to a decent form, but abandoned it later.

SS-2 is finished in proper form. All I need now is a publisher :((

Well, I for one, like the focus for the stories. That is why I pulled the 'cobwebs' to run mine in a separate thread. I am an ardent fan of Singha, and would like to read it in a separate thread.

Of course there is ArmenT's wonderful tool to filter.

Part3.

"The maulana's dinner and other nightly rounds"

Bahawalpur 6.30pm

as the night mists slowly crept in from the dusty fields and groves of trees, the town which tended to be less active in the day due to heat came alive.

families came out shopping in the crowded bazaar lanes, which sold a mix of all items,
beggars emerged from hiding to pester shoppers, ice cream sellers and street entertainers purveyed their wares to eager children , ladies of the night discreetly
started their trade, thieves and pickpockets started their day, suppliers to the hundreds of stores ran around in small 3 wheelers bringing in merchandise.

in the bylanes and gullies the smell of sweet tea, stuffed parathas, biryanis , nihari
and haleem wafted in the warm breeze. per a intellectual, pakistanis famously would
be happy to eat a pot of chicken even if it ate into their savings, and so they did!
everyone was eating something, whether sitting , standing or moving.

the narrow streets were a jumble of pedestrians, stray dogs, 3 wheelers, 2 wheelers,
pushcarts, the occasional 4 wheeler honking and trying to force its way past the
moving wall of obstructions. the only difference from any old town in north india
being the total absence of wandering bulls petted and occasionally fed by kind
food shop owners.

men drank tea and munched on non-veg food in clusters, accompanied by their
kids. women shopped in groups for bangles, clothes, food and a hundred other things.

the children of the old town, very numerous in numbers had a somewhat thin but fit
look to them. these were afterall the semi-rural and small town folks who made up the
heart of the pakistani soldiery. most of their families were only a generation removed
from the farm and still retained close ties to relatives in the surrounding rural
heartland.

at the edge of the market area where the disorder gave way to wider roads and a
more quiet ambience of the old "civil lines" was a area of roughly 2km by 2km housing
state and federal govt offices , some in old british era crumbling 2 storeyed buildings,
some in more modern but still crumbling post-independence structures, made famous
across the border in delhi by CPWD - ill fitting rusted metal window frames, moss covered and leaking draining ducts, the smell of urine near the washrooms, paan stained stairwells. unlike the old town, there was decent amt of free space , trees and room to move around. some old schools, police barracks, radio and TV station, a couple of malls and homes of the distinguished (and wealthy) citizens of the town completed the picture. this was a world of camry's , imported liquor and women wearing revealing dresses from dubai and london (at home).
the children went to the best of schools in lahore, rawalpindi, murree and such.
extra marital flings and swaps were not unheard of, if uncommon.

in between order and disorder - a sort of 'mediator' between the worlds of priviledge
and need, of alcohol and strict abstinence was the Maulana's compound, known
simply as the 'the school' by the locals.

it was a compound of considerable acreage, obtained by some mysterious means
of donation from the electricity board around 20 years previously. what was once a
deserted scrubland had been transformed by the Maulana and his access to vast
sums of money from donors and more unwilling givers of tithe. a vast seminary
complex was completed in few years, along with stables for horses and goats,
kitchen gardens, chicken and quail coops, motor garages, vocational schools, shops for trades people, hostels (for boys only), generator rooms and unknown to the locals
a warren of underground chambers used for lessons in various scary crafts.

the locals of the old town, cowed down by govt power and poverty as they were
didnt mind a new large business they gave employment to many of them, purchased
food and clothing in considerable quantities from local bazaars, donated generously
to the upkeep and festivals of the old town, always paid in cash, repaired the
crumbling old mughal era mosques, and who kept to their own unless you went
bothering them.

the price if any to pay was only in piety and heeding the Maulana's call to enroll
their growing boys to receive Taleem and be ready for greater duties.

the plutocrats of the new town did not like the Maulana one bit. he was a newcomer,
a powerful mediator who was not afraid of the legal machinery held by the elites
and who could at a days notice rouse howling mobs from the old quarter to burn and
destroy the wealth and 'position' many of these rich inter-married clans had spent
generations of trading, political "setting" and courtcraft to build up.

to these doubters the Maulana's proposition was crystal clear and delivered in person
by jeeploads of arab and north-african looking fighters armed with rifles - "we have
no demands of you except that you curtail excessive and visible anti-islamic activities
like drinking in public and immoral exposure of flesh by your women. and you need to pay us a modest 20% of your annual income without fail. in the privacy of your mansions do what you want, drink yourself to death, make love to a goat or ten women together if you want to - you are doomed to hell in the afterlife anyway, atleast donate to us who fight for oppressed muslims and absolve some of your sins.
You are free to choose not to obey our polite request. we are also free to visit upon
you consequences of that choice - it is entirely your path to choose"

quietly they paid up. one man - proud scion of a landed military family resisted and
ejected the goon squad using his own band of armed guards. nothing happened for
three days. on the fourth day, in the pre dawn hours, his villa was burnt to cinders,
with every occupant including the servants found with their throats slit in the post
mortem, a fact that was hushed up by the terrified police and medical staff. the man
of the house was missing his head from the torso. the head was found on a pike
implanted in the main circle of the new town.

after that everyone paid, some did so happily, others is fear. but everyone paid.

soon the police was pushed aside gently but firmly as armed and unarmed students
from the seminary took over the crime prevention, counseling and prevention of
vice duties in the old quarter. thieves were mercilessly flogged every friday morning
in the local chowks before people dispersed for prayer. drug addicts were warned to
leave town or die. women found guilty of adultery were stoned or whipped.

order, piety and discipline were the keywords of the day. tourism died out. cinema
halls were locked up and gradually the writ of the Maulana became absolute if gentle
(provided you followed his diktats).

whispers in the dark corners of the local graveyard where the drug addicts had
retreated for shelter (smoking inside collapsed graves) spoke of the murky history of
the Maulana. some claimed he had been a guest of the hindus in the east but one
day set fire to the jail and killed all his tormentors before walking out alone;
some who had progressed further up the curve to true drug induced enlightenment
claimed he was not human but a djinn with red eyes who could reduce a strong man
to a cowering dog with one look; all noted the increasing strength of his armed
retinue and the quality of the sleek weapons and pickup vans they roamed in
fearlessly all over the place.

almost every week visitors in pajeros and landcruisers with dark windows would
come and go from the school, sometimes they would stay overnight. sometimes the
Maulana himself would leave in a cavalcade of heavily armed vehicles and go to
a village 12 kms distant to indulge in his passion of falconry - a cage of pigeons would
be released one by one and the Maulana's pet baazs' would swoop on them from above
and tear them apart - to the appreciation of arab and pakistani guests of the hunt.
after a sumptuous lunch of goat stuffed with chicken and quail stuffed with eggs,
tender lamb biryani, acchar, tea and sweet mango custard the party would return in
evening.

--

at 6.32pm a servant knocked at the door of the Maulana's private quarters. he was
Rahim a semi-blind kashmiri fighter who the Maulana had pulled off the street here
in bahawalpur back in the old days. destined for the drug addicts circle, the maulana
had cleaned him up and given him a new life.

"Sir, Col Ahmed has arrived and is taking his tea"

"Very well, I will be there in a few moments, please make sure he is served the
best mithai from Ajmals. send someone to fetch some mithai if needed. also
send word to the kitchen to prepare a good dinner for two in the terrace"

the Maulana rose nude sensuously from his wooden mahogany bed, stroking the
hair on his ample belly... taking a good look at the sleeping naked form of the two females in the semi-darkness. he allowed himself a satisfied grin at the hours of pleasure he had squeezed out of these two eighteen and nineteen year old sisters in the afternoon heat.

composing his face into a more pious visage, he started pulling on his robes. he decided to reward Rahim next week for running such a well machined and selective network of agents to provide fresh companions for the maulana on a as-needed and discreet basis. the soil of this fertile land product the best of 'fruits' he thought. twenty years of running the seminary and he still felt as fit as a fiddle - surely the secret must lie in a voracious diet of the best female flesh- he mused as he finished dressing and walked down the staircase to greet his old friend and dinner guest.

along the corridor he met old chand bibi who bowed as he past..."go to my quarters,
move the girls into the guest suite and attend to their needs." he murmured and chand bibi nodded.

"Salaam alaikum my old friend" he advanced with open arms to the old Colonel
drinking tea and taking small bites of kachori and little meat cutlets served up by
trusty cooking staff.

Ahmed gave a broad smile at his old friend and gave a warm hug in return. They
had been comrades in many a exploit in hindustan and kashmir over the years. the
Col ex-SSG had resigned his commission at one point to better work his magic as
a unofficial but powerful 'worker' allied to the ISI, kashmir related groups and
ofcourse the Maulana's org. while folks like hamid gul were in the limelight, albeit
declared untouchable to the americans, more low key people like Col Ahmed shunned
the spotlight and did yeoman work. financially they had enough and anyway they
were not in this for the money or fame.

the two friends talked at length for an hour and then another hour as more
tea and kebabs were brought in. finally Maulana couldn't help but ask "but what
brings this surprise visit here....I thought you had been engaged with ningarhar
province organizational issues?"

the Col's face clouded for a moment, "I too am not sure why I was reassigned at
short notice, but as you already know perhaps my past experience at organizing
these raids into hindustan was what they pulled up. Gen Abbas himself phoned me
to come and meet you to select the team and firm up the schedule"

the Maulana's face positively glowed at the thought "oh dont worry! that can wait
until tomorrow morning...let us have dinner now...its all arranged in the terrace, such
a lovely moon these days...god himself smiles on us"

together they walked up to the terrace, which gave a panoramic view of the
compound. the dining halls were busy with batches of students being served their
simple but hearty dinner of roti, haleem, chicken curry and saag and washed down with
curd. those seniors already in training for "missions" received extra portions of roti, meat and sweets - these boys trained very hard physically and the Maulana although
given to his little pleasures in the private quarters didnt skimp on looking after his
boys and preparing them for the unending struggle with the hated hindustan.

down 40ft beneath the playing fields and hostels, in the underground rooms,
another type of taleem was already entering the night shift. students huddled on
the floor around wise teachers learning how to take apart pistols, rifles, assemble
bombs from common ingredients, design bombs to cause maximum damage, the
intricacies of detonators. they noted with pride the passion of their instructors ,
the war scars on their arms and faces and the fact that many were lame or missing
fingers from past exploits in the field.

soon a lovely repast of pulao flavoured with dry fruits from afghanistan,
achari gosht, roasted raan of lamb and sheermal was on the table. the Maulana as
was his wont, didnt spare his appetite while the Col, used to more austere conditions
in the field ate moderately taking frequent sips of aam panna.

with the warm glow of the lovely meal in their bodies, the Maulana motioned to
Chand bibi "please ask that boy jaffar to run to khyber paanwalla and get us some
meetha paans".

Chand bibi duly asked the young servant to run out past the well guarded gate and
fetch the paans . the shop already knew the Maulana's tastes rather well for he was their richest client.

Jaffar ran out into the night.

Chand bibi, shuffled along a long dark corridor to her simple sleeping quarter, which
was really a store room for sacks of wheat with an area cleared for her sleeping
mattress. Showing surprisingly quick movements, she withdrew a old hand-me-down
nokia 1110 phone the Maulana himself had given her to be in touch as he went on
tours of his vast compound and the surrounding rural cachement areas. calling up
a number from memory she said "bhai jaan how are you?"
"I am ok, god be with you" came the voice from other end, with background noises of
the crowded lanes intruding...

"I am expecting the shipment of betel nuts and paan, can you ask them to send?"

"yes I will, they will deliver maybe around 10pm, please be ready"

"ji bhaijaan, khuda hafiz"

Chand bibi , all spry and alert now carefully powered down the cellphone, took a roll
of money from the folds of the mattress and quietly walked to another far part of the
facility, sitting and chatting to another old servant who happened to have a table
clock in her quarter.

---
out in the market, the proprietor of khalid rangoon hardware store felt a bit unwell. his
employees were told to pack up the pipes and motors strewn on the pavement outside
and bring them in. asking them to come back next morning as usual, khalid rangoonwala locked his store, took his motorcycle and melted away into the maze
of bylanes.

arriving home five minutes later, he walked up the narrow stairs to his apartment,
most people were having dinner, some kids were reading aloud from their schoolbooks.

excusing himself from his wife to make a important business call to karachi, khalid
extracted a unused SIM from a well hidden crack below his bookcase, and sent a
single SMS "please deliver paan shipment 10pm. waiting" to a number he again brought from memory. a minute later the reply came "shipment enroute. please receive at shop"

it was a international number.

using his normal SIM he made another call to a small taxi co nearby asking for a
taxi van to travel to lahore on a urgent basis. they promised to send him a van
in 45 mins since the driver was taking dinner. they had already become used to
his sudden requests for business trip taxis usually to lahore. it was a lucrative
trip and they were happy to serve.

now he turned to the difficult task of explaining to his wife....

-----

somewhere over eastern Rajasthan, Ahuja flight had finished tanking up a few minutes
ago, the Midas disappeared into the night back towards Nagpur. He was ordered to
maintain a holding pattern and wait for further instructions. throttling back to a
economical 650kmph and 25,000ft , clear of any air lanes, they flew a racetrack orbit.
it was hard to kill time in the cramped cockpit. there was always the nagging thought
of geeta in such idle moments. he tried to ease that out and focus on the mission
parameters, gaming out mentally some unexpected obstacles and what should be the
best response.

down in Pune, the crew of Phalcon-04 had just finished briefing up for a unexpected
mission directly under AHQ control and puzzled but efficient, they were being driven
towards the black a/c powered down in the parking stand.

-----

around 9pm at a time when the indian PM has a working dinner (he usually worked late everyday except sunday), a call was put through from the RAW chief...

giving his nod of approval, the PM directly called up the control room WAC at AHQ
and asked to speak to AM Sen. the conversation was short. it was a-go.

Could one of the other BRFites like YI Patel or others start another scenario on how an IA sp ops team captures Dawood and brings him to India for trial and 72 ala the Adolf Eichmann capture?

Been a real long time since YIP has been writing scenarios here, wonder what happened?
