P.S. I support the procurement of the Ka-226s. But the above statement is completely false. Also, I have never heard of one company provided both the "competitors"!!! I would have loved to see the Indian production agency being Indian Rotorcraft Limited. They are capable. They were planning to make AW119s at Hyderabad before AW got blacklisted. That would have been a true back-up plan which does not leave a critical national requirement contingent to managerial decisions and execution (in)efficiencies of a single company. Ka-226 and LUH would have competed in executing an order for 196 articles each. Whichever team performs better gets the follow on order for 200 more.
