Quite right. If we build more LCAs than HF 24, and we will eventually.

We do have the financial and human resources wherewithal.

Rs 100,000 lakh crore was committed to SSNs (60,000 crore), MK1A (33,000 crore), LCH (5000 crore if not more) in last four weeks. We are flush with money. All about priority - do we want to spend overseas or within the country.

Enough new aero engineers coming out of the best aero institutes in the country to complement the people already there. Not to mention people who have returned.

JVs have never worked in India unlike China. JVs were set up across industries and eventually acquired by foreign partners. Maruti Udyog = Maruti Suzuki, DCM Toyota = Toyota, Modi Xerox = Xerox, Hutchison Essar = Vodafone to name a few. Only thing that has worked - outright purchase - Tata acquiring Daewoo Trucks, JLR; Mahindra acquiring Pininfarina, Ssangyong and getting technologies to India.

IIMB suggestion on AMCA is extremely flawed. JV shall hobble us permanently with nothing but more assembly experience. Europe, Japan, Korea, Israel are committed to JSF. Germany and France may tango for their own. We are on our own but for good. Russia is ploughing along with T50 but may help us but for a financial consideration for FGFA.

BTW LCA management pattern replicates itself everywhere - SR 71, F 22, F 35 are all examples. F 35 is surviving because US shall not be left with any other manned program, not that it is paragon of management, manufacturing excellence, budget.
