Air warfare post 2050

Postby member_20296 » 20 Nov 2011 11:33

Hey Guys Scenario is as follows:

Petroleum is almost all gone from the world for good, there are little production post in middle-east and central asia but they are purely for domestice military purposes.

All the contries are affected, Jihadis are still there thin and thick in pakistan, yemen, and in Poor African countries and are planning big as almost all airpower is out of fuel around the world.

Uncle SAM has militarised space and uses aircrafts running on fuel only for specialised military purposes, other technologically advance countries have moved on to 6th and 7th gen fighter aircrafts which uses "Stealth" and "Ray Weapons" but suffer from poor ranges.

India is busy buildng super mini neuclear reactor to be put on its 8th gen fighter under development to break free from chamical fuel problem and tide over poor range issues.... (Cnt..)

^^^
I like your concept, "Tibet is free".
:D :D :D

By 2050, we would have tapped another source of inexhaustible energy, Space Based Solar Power, i.e. SBSP. With enhancements in capacitor technology, we would be able to bring that energy to earth cheaply, as cheaply as oil is currently transported from the Gulf to the half way across the globe.

There are two possible ways to make your scenario more realistic..

1. you change the date to 2150

2. else you can change following -

a. petroleum will still be available and "affordable", apart from middle east and africa there are huge reserves in USA and russia. (not to forget south china sea)

As if today Saudi Arabia and venzuala have two biggest proven oil reserves.

But unlike general belief its not any gulf country but Russia who is the biggest oil producer and exporter in the world.

USA is known to have almost half of as much oil as Saudi Arabia has, undicovered. If you include shale oil reserves USA has ~10 times more oil reserves then Saudi Arabia. Yet to be touched.

So, dun worry petroleum is here to stay for good :)

b. With the current scenario, 2050 will be the possible time when countries will be testing there 6th gen fighters. (where countries equals to USA, Russia, India, China, and may be Japan).

Check out this link --> viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5536

It's for a thread which has some semblance to the topic you have at hand.
