I like.

Tell you why.

Military hardware parades are always drab olive green/camo. Gives a thrill to the jingo purist, but is dead boring to young mango auntie/unkal with bored toddler future BRFiite on shoulder. The bright colors add a different perspective to killer weapons. I can expect the "Inferiority is my birthright" comment that bright colors can't camoflage the deadly purpose of these weapons - but heck does drab olive green do that? A military parade is to exhibit the hardware and men to a population that is largely ignorant - and I for one welcome the "spicing up" with bright colors.

it looks candy like to me. if intention was to spice things up darker colours like black or deep blue would be preferable.

Always there are the Dakota T-72's and the T-90's not the Arjun MBT. I don't know who chooses the tanks on Parade.

But you gotta admit that any child would look at the bright orange tip of mijjile and ask "Woh kya hai?" Otherwise mijile and canister are hardly distinguishable like a dog that is not in heat.

that Prahar mobile silos look fake and made of sheet metal. I think the original ones envisioned for production will have more robust structure.. I might be wrong though... not taking away the achievement of DRDO

Can be a dummies or even the initial had made (kind of) effort. You never know. However, it gives a sense of that it is.

My paanwallah who supplies to the chaiwallah who knows someone on the project says that these are almost finalized TEL's for prahaar. Designed to be reloaded quickly. The reloads are not carried as mijjiles but as mijjiles in dubba. This makes it easier for transport (they dont move around) and are easier to reload (look at the hooks on top of dabba). Also the TEL can be easily reconfigured for other mijjiles (look at the plate attached to the hydraulic shillinders). That is what gives the image of it being put together.

Excellent news. Cannisterized and sealed rounds. Ease of transportation and reload. And it means that Prahaar is going to be a volume player.

I get the feeling the eye candy tip of Pinaka and Smerch are actually wooden dummies , the actual missile is not carried in the canister but the cansiter is empty and the the eye candy wooden tip is attached to each barrel which gives it feeling the missile is loaded and the tip colour adds to the effect , JMT

That color is a security threat so it must be a dummy :D

Uddu, I remember the Arjun was on display on Republic Day 2010. Maybe they just take turns. Any jingos know if T-90 was on display for Republic Day 2011? That would boost the "take turns" explanation :-)

IAF needs to update the "Big Boy" formation to the "Obscenely Obese Boy" Formation: C-17 flanked by 2 IL-76, flanked by C-130J, flanked by AN-32 then DO-228.

It is really great to see Kashmiri students being invited to IN ships. Not only will it encourage more of them to join the armed forces but will also win their hearts and minds and expose the perfidy of their useless doddering older generation (Gilani & co) who deliberately kept them in turmoil and alienated from the rest of India for selfish reasons. Once the young generation starts questioning the BS of their older generation and utaaro their patloons, the game will be up for the terrorists.

Well the colour choice is amusing for a moment it looked as if a 4 year old had stacked 6 crayons on a leo toy :P. Hey but then we are a country of colors and spices so as long as the stuff delivers the maal I shall not complain.
