Apache is different. We don't have an equivalent substitute in India at the moment. Besides, I think Apaches are being procured to be a part of the strike corps in the Cold Start Doctrine. There is a limitation on no. of men and machines that can be a part of such a corps so they would obviously want the best available and most survivable equipment there. No more from me on this since last time I defended the Apache I ended up with a ban :cry:

So the civil version is certified with the TM 333, not Shakti.

I wish the KA226 goes to Navy. They have twin engine for safety, higher volume cabin for lesser overall space requirement and swappable payload to tailor for SAR, utility, ASW etc.

The IA and IAF should go to LUH.

Indian private sector company Dynamatics is manufacturing parts of the Chinook and the Tata-Boeing joint venture in Hyderabad is manufacturing the complete fuselage of the Apache.

Per many people declaring a certain % of the Indian population as "bhakts " this is a scam cause

Price is higher than what US paid for Chinooks in 1970 and quoted in an RFP at that time.
