Given the penchant of their CM to praise Nizam and his glorious rule before being unfairly attacked by India, its surprising they even showcased that much native culture.

it looked VERY UNSEEMLY today. Pranabda did what he could to salvage the ugly situation, its not his fault at all.

With someone like Modi in charge, one can be fairly confident this is the last time that incident will happen. He's very attuned to matters like this, and clearly provided a lot of instructions as to what the parade should display and how it should be conducted. He can't be expected to get every basic nicety figured out, but can only provide broad instructions. Someone's doing to get a very angry note demanding that the whole gallantry award step be conducted in a more dignified manner.

The symbolism was quite telling. In these times, the US and Russian manufactured aircraft flying side-by-side under the same banner. Where else could we possibly see that?

Mig-29 and US planes fly together in Luftwaffe AFAIK. The Migs came with E. Germany.

They didn't stay there for long. Sold to Poland for symbolic friendship price of 1$ (or 1 DM / Euro).
