Worth adding more LCA Mk1A instead of 2 billion for 60 planes. You get brand new 30-38 Mk1A.

http://www.newsonair.com/News?title=Two ... &id=373224
two-day long manoeuvres by Sudarshan Chakra Vahini of Indian Army started today at Jaisalmer field firing range in Rajasthan. In this war exercise, the army is going to exhibit its strength regarding Agni Missile and artillery.

Artillery, Arms and mechanized forces, Army air defence and helicopters of army aviation are participating in this exercise to test mutual coordination. Endogenously manufactured light helicopter Rudra and self-propelled artillery gun system K-9 vajra are also taking part in this exercise.
https://in.news.yahoo.com/watch-indian- ... 01246.html
The Sudarshan Chakra corps of the Indian army held a firing exercise, 'Sindhu Sudarshan', in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer on 21 October. Around 40,000 Jawans participated in the exercise, which will continue till 5 December.
must say conducting such a large exercise for such a large duration is very interesting at this time of the year

pre-empting 2 front war. We are also doing 'large' exercise currently on the northern border. Sept-OCT-Nov is the most conducive month for enemies for 2 front war. The Monsoon has just retreated, the window for 2 front attack exist for a month (before snowfall in Himalayas - JK and AP).

It is very satisfying to see the Mig-29's back in the thick of things like this. I had a perception of them being overshadowed by the MKI's ever since they came in with the Su-30's being showcased everywhere (the MKI induction happened to coincide with the IAF exercising a lot with foreign Air Forces). The old warrior seems to have got a new lease of life with the upgrade and is back to being the tip of the spear where it belongs.

He wears it everywhere. It shows his passion. It is also a badge of honour. Test pilot of a completely new upcoming frontline fighter aircraft belongs to the highest echelons of flying. Only a handful of people can put that on their resumes.

Likely a RAF exchange pilot.

Interestingly, 6 MiG-29s had been upgraded with the new D-29 ESM + EW suite for the trials. I wonder if any of those are also in Oman.

Looks like a RAF exchange pilot and Hawk 200 driver.

I love the Hawk 200. I have said this before. I wish HAL builds a AJT around an afterburning HTFE25 for mud moving.

Absolutely. We all have witnessed the MiG-29 receding into the background and the Su-30MKI taking the spotlight over the years. Since 1999, when it was the primary Air Superiority platform of the IAF, to where the Su-30 hogged all the limelight since the mid 2000s. Even the Mirage-2000 has seen a resurgence of interest with Balakot bringing them into the news.

Its so good to see the refreshed, revamped and deadlier MiG-29UPGs now coming back into the news. Really hoping to see the 21 new airframes added soon to the fleet.

Can't say he's a Hawk 200 pilot. The patch seems to show a 2 seat Hawk and the RAFO does fly the AJT version of the Hawk Mk.103 as well.

From IAF's FB page. Culmination of Exercise Eastern Bridge 2019.

The Typhoon looks so much larger than the others thanks to its high stance. Of course it is relatively closer to the camera, but it shows how high up a Typhoon pilot sits in the cockpit.

Image
#EasternBridge19 culminated & team IAF is heading Home.
The objectives for exercise were to foster closer relationship between Indian-Oman forces & undertake mutual exchange of best practices.
Thank you #RAFO for all the support & great hospitality.
Happy Landings!!!

It is because of the wings and inlets Kartik. They have a low mounted wing, So, they need more ground clearance for armaments. Another problem is that the intakes are right behind the nose wheel. So, they increased the height of the NG to stop the ingestion of the foreign objects kicked up by the nose wheels into the inlets. Actually, the cockpit of the Typhoon sits higher than the F-15/F-22/Su-35!

any titbits on the 'findings' or 'outcomes'. I would not imagine that ME AF personnel (IAF serving personnel as well) are into blogging or giving out info, still looking forward to it. More interested in the F-16/Mig 29 matchup

There was some talk of that but it never fructified. They then wanted to use KKD for exercises and that is regular series now.

RSAF aircraft land at Port Blair due to technical issue
SINGAPORE — Six Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-16 fighter aircraft and one C-130 transport aircraft heading towards West Bengal, India, on Thursday (Oct 31) had to be diverted due to a technical issue with one of the F-16s.

The RSAF aircraft landed at Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair, in the Andaman islands, at about 12.15pm (Singapore time), the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said in response to TODAY’s queries.

“The RSAF aircraft were en route to Kalaikunda Air Force Station in West Bengal, India, to participate in the RSAF-Indian Air Force Joint Military Training,” Mindef said.

“Post-flight inspections at Port Blair concluded that all seven RSAF aircraft were in good condition to continue their journey to Kalaikunda Air Force Station.”

All seven RSAF aircraft subsequently departed Port Blair on Friday and landed safely at Kalaikunda Air Force Station on the same day at about 4pm (Singapore time), Mindef added.

Media reports in India had said that the aircraft had to make an emergency landing due to “fuel shortage”.

Maiden edition of ‘Tiger Triumph’ concludes in Kakinada - Business Line
Indian and US armed forces concluded the inaugural tri-services exercise ‘Tiger Triumph’ in Kakinada on Thursday, with a closing ceremony held on board the US Navy ship Germantown.

The maiden Tri-Services US-India Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Amphibious Exercise, known as Tiger Triumph, took place from November 13 to November 21, and it represents the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.

The first phase of the exercise (the Harbour phase) took place in Visakhapatnam from November 13 to 16, and included Subject Matter Expert Exchanges on Amphibious and HADR operations.

The second (Sea phase) was from November 17 to 21, during which Indian and US forces jointly transited from Visakhapatnam to the simulated HADR location at Kakinada.

In Kakinada, troops transferred ashore and set up a Joint Command and Control Centre and a Joint Relief and Medical Camp.

More than 500 US Marines and sailors and 1,200 Indian soldiers, sailors and airmen participated in the nine-day exercise.

The exercise included live fire drills, ship manoeuvres and landings by Indian helicopters on the Germantown’s flight deck.
