Yes there some real RC Mig-29s around but the original video was definitely CGI.

FANTASTIC Russian Mikoyan MiG-29 FORMATION PAIR/DUO with OVT VECTORED THRUST Demo
Now you can fly the Mig-29 OVT and pull amazing aerobatic manoeuvers that even the full size pilots cannot perform. Record your flight and then play it back while flying your own jet again to see if you can keep tight formation with your first flight! Filmed action from the Aerofly RC 8 flight simulator.

its imposing a cost on IDF just as cheen needling forces a cost of japan/7th fleet. I guess thats all they care about , not individual pieces of hw or lives of their cadre.
that way nothing has changed in 3 decades. hez/iran have no means to invade israel. israel has no stomach to invade lebanon again except maybe short forays across border (hezbollah now has strategic depth in syria) .

An Ru TU-22M3 supersonic bomber crashed while trying to land in a fierce snowstorm and high winds in northern Russia in the Murmansk region around Oleneogorsk, tragically killing around 4 crew members.
Re: Russian Weapons & Military Technology
Russia is to arm its Karakurt and Buyan- M corvettes with its new hypersonic Tsirkon missile in a smaller variant. It will have the same engine, etc., but a smaller warhead and fuel tank.Range between 300 to 500km.This is in addition to the drcision to equip larger surface warships with the 750+km std. version.Ru warships and corvettes already carry LR Kalibif missiles and supersonic Onix ( Ru BMos). This will give the small 1000+t corvettes massive strike power, capable of sinking even carriers.
Now that we've .joined the MTCR regime, we could acquire the same from Ru. unless hyper- BMos is being derived from the same weapon system.

Re: Russian Weapons & Military Technology
A US report has said that the TU-22 M3 upgrade and the aircraft equipped with the latest Ru standoff missiles of ranges 1500km+, make it a very deadly weapon system in the maritime sphere ,almost impossible for the USN's CBGs to counter, as they would be able to launch missiles well out of range of the carrier's air defences and before effective reaction/ response time by its aircraft. The new hypersonic missiles with both conventional and N- warheads, like the light Tsirkon once launched are virtually unstoppable.Russia is comprehensively modernising at least 30 Backfires, including new more powerful engines ,a new EW/ ECM package and the new range of missiles that can be carried, which will enable the bird to serve for another 30 years.
And to think that we were offered this beauty way back in the '70s ,when Russia had hundreds in service, turned down by the IAF!

IL replacement for An-124 Heavy Transport Aircraft
TsAGI continues to develop the aircraft "Elephant"
TsAGI continues to develop the aircraft "Elephant"
https://aviation21.ru/cagi-prodolzhaet- ... yota-slon/Specialists of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N.Е. Zhukovsky (part of the Research Center "Institute named after N. Zhukovsky") continue to develop a new heavy transport aircraft "Elephant". Currently, an aerodynamic model of a promising aircraft has been designed, the press service of TsAGI reports.
The designed model of the aircraft consists of the fuselage, wing, nacelle, vertical and horizontal tail, landing gear. Its distinctive feature is the central section of the fuselage, performing the function of the power core. The remaining structural elements are mounted on this main unit. This solution will reduce the number of manufactured parts and simplify assembly technology.
The model is designed for testing in transonic and subsonic wind tunnels TsAGI and is universal. It can be modified by changing the length and diameter of the fuselage, the shape of the wing, its location along the axis. It is planned that the first experimental studies will be held in August — September of this year.
Earlier, the technical concept of the Elephant was developed and its main geometric and mass parameters were determined. The aircraft will compete with such aircraft as the An-124 Ruslan, Boeing 747-8F, etc. The aircraft will carry 150 tons of cargo over distances up to 7000 km with a cruising speed of 850 km / h. At the maximum payload (180 tons), the practical flight range will be 4900 km.

Almost zero visibility and snow around is receipe for disaster , wet runways or snow can lead to skidding , why do they even fly in such dangerous conditions unless the weather changes drastically in couple of minutes can happen , seems hard landing and bounce leading to breaking of fuselage , RIP

Re: Russian Weapons & Military Technology
I believe weather worsened rapidly around the landing area, apparently there was some debate among the crew on whether they should attempt the landing. Pilot was for it and they agreed to, only when he attempted it did he realize how bad it was.Austin wrote:Almost zero visibility and snow around is receipe for disaster , wet runways or snow can lead to skidding , why do they even fly in such dangerous conditions unless the weather changes drastically in couple of minutes can happen , seems hard landing and bounce leading to breaking of fuselage , RIP

It looks like the rear landing gear collapsed at 0:33-0:34 or seized up in the snow. Why wasn't the runway cleared just shortly before arrival? The Tu 22M3 is limited resource of the RuAF. Seems very amateurish or incompetence. It also seems the pilot was coming in a bit too fast too. In such cases you would want to be as slow as possible.Prem wrote:...

A crash can happen due to any number of reason including human error , mechanical fault , pilot disorientation or weather issue .....cant really speculate unless one does a full post crash analysis done.
A recent wide body crash during landing was attributed to blowing dust and low-level windshear. something the pilot or onboard system could not anticipate and was beyond the capability of both

Accidents happen when there are a failure of multiple events. Pilots, electromechanical failure, ATC, and weather. In this instance it appears to be pilot and weather. Compounded by improper runway maintenance.Austin wrote:A crash can happen due to any number of reason including human error , mechanical fault , pilot disorientation or weather issue .....cant really speculate unless one does a full post crash analysis done.

Which recent wide body crash are you referring to? Commercial aviation comparison with military is very different.

Where does this leave the PAK-DA stealth bomber?
As for the crash, if conditions were that dreadful the airport control should've aborted the landing or even closed the airport down. They would know better than the pilot.V.difficult to clear a runway during a snowstorm.Avoidable tragedy.

Re: Russian Weapons & Military Technology
^ What if they thought that the storm was worsening and they were very low on fuel? Perhaps the pilots took a calculated risk rather than jettisoning a strategic asset.

"The Tu-22M3 aircraft had a hard landing because of heavy snowfall after a training flight. It was completely destroyed," said the Russian military, quoted by Russian news agency TASS. “Two crew members died and two others received the necessary medical assistance on the spot”. One of the crew members that survived the crash died on his way to the hospital.
The plane might have been caught in a “snow squall”, an intense snowfall drastically reducing visibility, accompanied by a sharp increase in the wind. “They were about to land, but at the moment of touching down, the vertical speed was still high,” said Russian aviation expert Vadim Lukashevich to RIA, adding: “The plane met the runway at 10 meters per sec, no less. Here, the reason is obvious - weather conditions”.
