Are they deliberately not showing the time v velocity and time v altitude plot and instead just showing ISRO scientists due to some sensitivity around the satellites being placed for military purpose? In US also NROL launches are heavily censored post launch

CUS SHUT OFF
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
low-level clouds hampered any chances of taking good shots. I was waiting with my tele-photo lens, on the terrace.
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
Successful separation. another success by ISRO. Yawn....!
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
Now our soldiers in far-off locations can have direct phone connection.
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
This time i had borrowed a 1200D with 55-250mm lens from a friend to capture this launch. But a hazy sky and a unfamilier camera has resulted in a not so good images, anyway will post a few on my twitter page after editing
Just thinking of going to Pulicat for covering the Chandrayaan 2 Launch if time permits

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
I thought it was a much better broadcast from DD.
The commentators went quiet at the moment of launch and remained quiet for some time. The commentary in general was more restrained this time around.
The cameras tracked the vehicle well during lift off and initial phase of flight, without losing sight of the vehicle as happened during some earlier launch coverage's. Also the resolution of the video seemed to be better (HD?).
Hope to be able to hear more of the controllers call outs in future launches.

That was a fabulous launch with very precise injection of GSAT-6A.
Several improvements tested out for future use:

excellent work ISRO. way to go

was there some launch today?
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
why was mk2 used when mk3 is tested?

Missed the launch. Why didn't our other channels not feature it live like before? As usual some scandal or the other this time the CBSE exam paper leak fiasco igniting the whole country.CBSE chief on leave!
Anyway, hats off to ISRO.There must be celebrations both at SHK, BLR and in the watering holes in service messes since this baby is for the forces.May there be many more to come.

YYaaawwwwnnnnn. Vanilla PSLV and GSLV launches are now like ST buses leaving their depots (for us), ISRO needs to infuse some enthu. Waiting for the next significant steps Chandrayaan 2, GSLV MK III with Semi Cryo engines and later the ULV launch.

Great launch, congrats. Is the electromechanical actuator system made by ISRO? That is not clear, though it is powered by ISRO developed Lithium Ion batteries. Also, would the full utilisation of the propellant lead to noticeable improvement in accuracy and/or payload.SSridhar wrote:That was a fabulous launch with very precise injection of GSAT-6A.

Yep. The camera tracking was much much better this time. No shakes / involuntary motions and booster separation was captured via multiple angles. Another novelty was the live feed from the 3rd stage during orbit (all those flat earthers can run back to their holes now ) & also the feed from inside the heat shield during the payload separation. Good going! Hope they better it next time.juvva wrote:I thought it was a much better broadcast from DD.

ISRO developed actualtors for LCA. If they have the tech for electomechanical actuators now, AMCA can use them, giving significant edge to it.Varoon Shekhar wrote:Great launch, congrats. Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
Post launch speeches hinted at commercial exploitation of GSLV.
Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
I read all BRF posts since launch. All appear par-forming naarmal - nirmal sign. I heard the improvement for greater than 2.5 ton validations. Can anyone tell more details of how much tonnage now we can launch? 4T?

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016
In the after-launch speeches someone said 68kg increase in payload. This 50% increase is a misquote.
