considering that soko's one is still a PPT, S.korea surely has to take much more time,if its own stealth bird project were not to abort.
And NOKO's acquiring a high end SAM system is merely a Chinese news story. Besides, you totally ignored the other items I listed. Its common sense that SOKOs investment in its own fifth generation project is a medium to long term option. However they have plenty of short to medium term options as I have listed. Like I said, given North Korean economy and the chances of them getting a significant amount of these air defense system, this is nothing that they cannot neutralize using their existing F-15Ks.

As mentioned there are plenty of options available to those UAI compatible F-15Ks when it comes to SEAD, DEAD or medium to long range targeting. And as mentioned, a few of these systems without an integrated air, ground and cyberspace command and control is not going to seriously threaten the ROKAF or USAF positioned there. A few more of these systems if heavily discounted/subsidized may allow South Korea to allow another THAAD in on its land and then things can get really interesting especially if you have 2 TPY-2s deployed there.
well, Soul is within the range of noko's 10000+ cannons, even if noko's nuke were not be considered..

frankly speaking, without the protection from yankees, soko would have more chance to be asskickef by noko's 1m soldiers.

What does have to do with this air defense system and how the F-15Ks can neutralize it if properly tasked to do so?

I suspect that it's the American military-industrial-security complex which is intentionally leaving America's door unlocked for Chinese spies. If China's technology is far behind the U.S.'s, there's no need for a massive American military budget, right? Also, it's a way of applying pressure to Japan/India/etc. to buy more American military equipment to fend off the "massive Chinese threat."

f117?that is a bomber without any self~defence capacity.
f117's stealth is primitive and can be detected on quite a few occasions.
once detecting f117,even mig21 can shoot down f117.

that is why yankees made f117 quit service long ago.

lt is meaningless to develop a primitive stealth bird like f117,because it can not survive nowdays.

Yes but they certainly have more experience than the Chinese and have third generation stealth aircraft in service right now, a fact that should come as a great source of public shame and embarrassment to the Chinese which China will find difficult to live down when even the lumbering 0.8 generation J-20 is nowhere near the latest in capability. Or appearance.

Uighur IS fighters vow blood will 'flow in rivers' in China

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-midea ... 6848H?il=0

By Michael Martina and Ben Blanchard | BEIJING
Vowing to plant their flag in China and that blood will "flow in rivers", a video released this week purportedly by the Islamic State group shows ethnic Uighur fighters training in Iraq, underscoring what Beijing sees as a serious threat.

China is worried that Uighurs, a mostly Muslim people from western China's Xinjiang region, have gone to Syria and Iraq to fight for militant groups there, having traveled illegally via Southeast Asia and Turkey.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the killing of a Chinese hostage in 2015, highlighting China's concern about Uighurs it says are fighting in the Middle East

Hundreds of people have been killed in Xinjiang in the past few years, most in unrest between Uighurs and ethnic majority Han Chinese. The government blames the unrest on Islamist militants.

The Iraqi arm of Islamic State has released a half-hour long video purportedly showing Uighurs training, as well as some images from inside Xinjiang, including Chinese police on the streets.

One shot that shows Chinese President Xi Jinping gives way to flames in front of a Chinese flag.

IDEX 2017: CATIC reveals details about Harpy-type loitering munition

Image

http://www.janes.com/article/68341/idex ... tion
The ASN-301 is a delta-wing aircraft with a pusher propeller that looks virtually identical to the Harpy. It is designed to fly into hostile air space and loiter until it detects a radar, at which point it homes in on the target and destroys it.

The Chinese and Israeli versions are launched from a storage container. The model displayed at IDEX had six containers loaded onto a medium-size truck. Similar truck carriers have been previously seen in images posted on Chinese websites.

China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC), the sales arm of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), released information describing the ASN-301 as a "mobile anti-radiation drone system" that "can be applied in long-range attack and suppress enemy radar systems in war".

It listed the ASN-301 as having the same 135 kg weight as the Harpy, although at 2.5 m it is slightly shorter than the Israeli version (2.7 m), and has an endurance of four hours. It has a higher top speed (220 km/h versus 180 km/h for the Harpy), but its range is shorter (288 km versus 500 km).

The CATIC information stated that the ASN-301 targets radar frequencies in the 2-16 GHz range, and its radar homing device has a search range of 25 km. The system can target up to eight pre-set radar targets. Its 7,000-fragment warhead has a proximity laser fuse with a destructive range of 20 m.
well, one PLAAF's large fleet crossed over Myyaco strait near Okinawa islands yesterday.

the fleet consisted of 1 AWAC,6 H6k bombers and 6 flankers.

usually,Japanese send f15 fleet to moniter PLAAF birds near the area.
but this time, facing the PLAAF'S large fleet, exhausted japanese fleet gave up and did nothing.

Well, what is so exhausting that they have to give up? They fought more wars and battles than Sabre rattler. At one point they even kicked Chinese arse. who knows how many times they flew over China and China didn't even know...may be exhaustion or complete failure, we never know anyway.

BRFites - please make a note of the type of rhetoric that is used.

Chinese planes flew somewhere and the story is that the Japanese did not respond because of exhaustion

As a story it is not just idiotic - it is clearly only of propaganda value. That we all know. But the Chinese make a habit of speaking like this, and follow this up with stuff like "Confucius said that the best way to win a war is without fighting". Now when intellectuals f/suckers hear names like Confucius they lap it up. So the overall picture that the several avatars of Liu present on here is that "We Chinese are so strong, no, make that so sooo strong, and so soooo rich that everyone else will just keel over and die listening to us fart into the wind"

Normally it would be very difficult for me to make such an assertion - but when we have real live examples - it gets easier to illustrate what is happening

A young man was once besotted with a pretty girl who lived a few blocks away. He was convinced that she did not respond to him because he had no bike. Finally, one time, he got a bike and rode past her house, saw her and waved cheerily. She did not even give him a glance.

Dejected, he came back and said "She must have been tired after a long day"

The Chinese who were never able to patrol these areas in the past imagined that if they go there the Japanese will try and shot them down. The Japanese paid no attention. And that is what reminded me of the tragic story of that young man.

Just sayin...

It was only Chinese paranoid imagination that they would be stopped from travelling through international airspace. Since the Chinese are only now discovering the meaning of freedom these ordinary day to day things come as a surprise to you.

Isnt S Band much better to detect LO Target over L Band , I see US latest AWACS are going for S band based radar.

Even Indian AWACS Phalcon Radar is L Band based.

If we don't ban him, we run the risk of Shivji's great fear -- that Liu's propaganda can turn a gullible among us.

Is his comedy truly worth such a risk? Nope, let's ban him and the other one, David.

At worst, a banning would force his propaganda ministry to send someone new. I am bored of the same old two or three 50-centers. It's almost an insult to us to use these washed-up operatives. I demand better quality potempkin pushers if we have to suffer through propaganda!
