China Military Watch - Sept' 2016

Supposedly PLAAF JH-7A attack fighter pilots. I like how the sidearm holsters hang off their hips.
Re: China Military Watch - Sept' 2016
J-10 pilots. The one on the left is Yu Xu who died as a member of the PLAAF aerobatic team.
Supposedly the first female pilot of their new Y-9 transport.
So the fighter pilot girls have long hair and pony tails in spite of the helmet but the transport one has practical short hair. Why?

The Aladdin story is supposedly set in Kashgar and aladin himself was supposedly a Uighur. fwiw.

hopefully it wont go the way of "onlee 10 people got 100% in CAT exam, all male, all engineer - no diversity onlee!" so lets change the exam to improve diversity and enable more women and social justice warriors to score 100%.

All Muslims are not ultra conservative some are behind Hijab and some are just opposite and modern , Even in some Islamic country they dont follow the hijab thing very strictly . Uighur population could be islamic for name sake but may not be strict about wearing Hijab etc Like we have in India as well.

I thought I made it clear in so many words that photos of the Uighur girl out of hajib and in PAP uniform were laughable attempts at propaganda.chola wrote:Admin Note: chola, you shall stop aiding propaganda on behalf of PLA. Post only what matters to India. Thanks
But I understand your point and will desist in this train of what I thought were amusing posts.
Added: Austin ji, you are right and what their hamhandedness is doing is probably pushing the less religious among them into the same league as the radicals.

Ah but our dear Raksha Mantri, the one that issues orders for war, is a woman. When will that happen in China?
I know the answer, never. Not under CCP. Could happen under democracy though.

Yah, it is call the 2nd Artillery Force or something else now. It is an entirely different branch and includes both nukes and conventional ballistics. A different branch of their military not the Army’s. PLA ground forces are now the ugly red-headed stepchild with little funding compared to Air Force, Navy and 2nd Arty.ArjunPandit wrote:what happened to the might rocket force, and that they can land in delhi in 3 hours or something to that effect?Singha wrote:For 20 years now the pla has been starved of funds in favour of plaaf and plan. An Amreeki concept. Chini has psychological need to match every new fangled idea from Unkil: GPS, rail guns, EM launcher too. At Least 8 Chinese Naval Ships In The Northern Part Of Indian Ocean At All Times, Says Navy Chief
https://sniwire.com/china/at-least-8-ch ... avy-chief/
The Chinese navy is a force and it is a force that is here to stay. This was a remark made by Admiral Sunil Lanba, chief of naval staff, India as he spoke in New Delhi on Wednesday about the growing naval presence of India’s neighbour both in its immediate and the extended neighbourhood. It’s not just India but other countries too in the region and beyond who have been concerned about growing Chinese muscle-flexing in the maritime domain particularly in the South China Sea where Beijing is embroiled in territorial disputes with most of its neighbours.
The Navy Chief was speaking during a panel discussion on ‘Indo-Pacific: Ancient Waters and Emerging Geometrics’ at the marquee Raisina Dialogue. The Raisina Dialogue, the fourth in the series, is an annual event co-hosted by the ministry of external affairs and the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). Also part of the high-powered panel discussion today, were Admiral Philip S Davidson, Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano, Chief of Naval Staff of the Japan Self Defence Forces, General Angus J Campbell, Chief of the Defence Force, Australia and Admiral Christophe Prazuck, Chief of Naval Staff, France.
Admiral Lanba noted that at any given time, there are between eight to 10 Chinese naval ships in the northern part of the Indian Ocean region. He also drew attention to the rapid growth of the Chinese navy, noting that no other navy has grown so rapidly in the last 200 years. The Navy Chief also echoed what India’s assertion about the Quad (India, Australia, Japan and US) has been so far that there is no military angle to it. Asked about it during the discussion, Admiral Lanba said it was true as of now, there is no military aspect to the Quad. Meanwhile, US PACOM Chief Admiral Davidson emphasised more than once that the “Indo-Pacific is not a containment strategy for China."
Noting that the Chinese have been “spending a huge amount of money in developing their military capability, modernising their forces and command structure” the Navy chief said that in the last five years alone, the Chinese Navy has added 18 ships to its fleet. Admiral Lanba also drew attention to the commissioning of the first Chinese base overseas in Djibouti two years ago. He said while the stated reason is to protect their trade against pirates, they had “deployed submarines for anti-piracy operations which is the most unlikely platform to be used for this role.” During the discussion, Japan’s Admiral Kawano said the “scope of the activities of the Chinese airforce and navy in the region have heightened.”
However, he said the two countries also have a maritime and aerial memorandum to avoid conflicts. Speaking specifically about the South China Sea, Admiral Kawano accused China of “taking unilateral action in violation of international laws.” He added, “if China can share our values, we can cooperate.” Admiral Kano also emphasised, like many of the other discussants, the need for “a free and open Pacific”, one that was “free and open” as it was part of the global commons. “All five countries (India, Japan, US, Australia and France) share this value,” he stated. Admiral Campbell of Australia said that his country doesn’t support unilateral action in the South China Sea. He also called for the enforcement for a rules-based international order.

"Also, two years ago they commissioned their first overseas facility or base in Djibouti. The stated aim of this deployment is to protect their trade which is flowing through this area from piracy. They have deployed submarines for anti-piracy operations which is the most unlikely platform to be used for this role," he said.
Admiral Philip S Davidson, Commander, US Info-Pacific Command, during the session, said the command''s name was changed to Info-Pacific as the concept captures the shift in economic and military reality. In response to a question on the Quad --comprising the US, India, Australia and Japan -- being seen as a strep to contain China, he said the Info-Pacific policy does not represent a containment policy. "We are not asking the people to choose between us and China," Admiral Davidson said.

China's new naval radar can monitor areas size of India: Report
https://m.economictimes.com/news/defenc ... arebuttons
China has developed an advanced compact size maritime radar which can maintain constant surveillance over an area of the size of India, media reported Wednesday. The domestically-developed radar system will enable the Chinese navy to fully monitor China's seas and spot incoming threats from enemy ships, aircraft and missiles much earlier than the existing technology, the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post reported, quoting the scientist who took part in China's Over-the-Horizon (OTH) radar programme. Liu Yongtan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) from the Harbin Institute of Technology, is credited to have upgraded the China's radar technology and developing an advanced compact size radar for the PLA Navy's carrier fleet to "maintain constant surveillance over an area the size of India," the Post reported. President Xi Jinping conferred the country's top science award, carrying a prize money of USD 1.116 million, to Liu and another military scientist, Qian Qihu at an event in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday for their contributions. Qian was felicitated for setting up the theoretical system for China's modern defence engineering and contributions in creating underground nuclear shelter facilities, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

What is "newsworthy" on the "China Military Watch" thread if pictures and news of the addition of an LPD and a destroyer are "propaganda" and "stale news"?

And stop pretending to be some kind of "wounded enthusiast" et al. Even if you are, the nuance is lost on us, because of the style and content of your posts

And asking why pics of a Japanese Navy destroyer commissioning is news while pics of a PLAN induction ceremony is propaganda, isn't whingeing or demanding "rights and privileges"; its a valid question. Why the double standard? Or am I breaking some forum rule by asking?
But noted Sir. This is not a democracy Sir.

Re: China Military Watch - Sept' 2016
Newsworthy is analysis and original content or analysis of third party content. Not just pictures which can easily be googled up and which you are constantly pushing as some sort of epochal act. BRF is not a kiddie forum where every post has a picture or of some military equipment being inducted etc. We don't do that for our own gear.Kengsley wrote:Pictures of vessels being commissioned into other navies have been posted before on this forum and have not been called propaganda...
